This company is absolutely a joke. All the negative reviews about them here are 100% true. The washing machine and the dryer in my building take coins but don't let you choose any service. I've called Coinamatic customer service 4 or 5 times over the last two weeks and they always told be that it would be fixed within 24-48 hours. As of today it hasn't been fixed. In fact, the customer service lady told me that my ticket has not been escalated before so I have no idea what they did. Also, when you call them and listen to that automatic speech on the background while waiting for someone to answer the phone, the speech says how great their customer service is and how client-oriented they are, it is absolute nonsense and has nothing to do with the reality but rather just pisses people off.

Horrible service. Money was removed from my card and failed to transferred to my laundry card. Called customer service and Jomarie told me to remove my clothes from the wash and dry them upstairs AND to make it worse he laughed. Horrible customer service Jomarie should be out of a job. Hands down THE worst service ever. This is a review on multiple times dealing with coinomatic. Put in a request for service call. Wait over a week for a technician. Tech arrives, plays with it for 15 mins, it works, he leaves, 15 mins later it breaks. They are closed on weekends and office hours open till 5pm DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Dirty rotten thieves. Our machines constantly eat our money, don't work properly and ate so filthy you do not even wash your clothes in them. The best part of it all is that the prices for the machines keep going up even after all the problems. They should be paid a visit by the better business people because they DO NOT do what they claim to and good luck being re-embursed for monies their machines just keep.

Just trash. They don't maintain their machines and they often have errors. Prices for a wash and dry are off the charts. Good luck getting the money back that their machines are before they displayed that error too. Their cards are garbage. Still waiting on that $40 refund from 4 years ago, idiots.
I have very bad opinion about this service. In my laundry room the dryers does not work. I spent a lot of money and my clothes were still wet. new machine and worse quality.
Save yourself time and money and just go to a laundromat. The building I live in had "new" washers put in at the end of July and NONE of them have worked properly and now the mobile pay can't be used for them. The capacity of the washers are a joke. Don't believe the promo that you'll get your first wash free if you download the mobile pay app, I never got it. The price for a wash and a dry keep increasing yet their service keeps decreasing.
We have these machines in my building. They constantly become too full (I assume) to take coins OR they just honk (instead of beeping) when you put a coin in, the machine doesn't count it, and it doesn't give it back. I'm about to get a hold of them again and make them send me a check, it'll probably take 3 or 4 days for someone to finally answer the phone. I wait a while between, because it costs me money to get to a bank owned machine to deposit it. These machines are nothing but constant problems, and poor service quality from the owner.

BELOW REVIEW IS FROM 8 MONTHS AGO. HIam a tenant at one of the two buildings I am writing about. Yesterday December 8th both card reload machines were down. The superintendent called however Coinamatic offices are closed on weekends. Most people attend to laundry on weekends. Lots of unhappy people yesterday. When the lint dryer traps get cleaned we get an upcharge of 25 cents at some point. The soap dispensers trays when pulled out are all lined with thick black mould. This cant be sanitary not healthy.
If i could give something lower i would. Terrible service. One agent hung up on me, when i told him try not to cut off YOUR CLIENTS, when they are reporting a problem. as a customer. Thanks for being rude!! DISAPPOINTING
Terrible!!! its criminal stealing money from people offering to send a cheque in the mail when the machines charge twice! I do Laundry for my Mom and the washing machines even on hot are freezing cold water and the dryers don't work really sad because Seniors are on a fixed income they should be charged for Fraud :(
The epiphany of a terrible company. It operates an old , half broken fleet of laundry washer at Chestnut Residence and charges outrageous prices. Machines constantly take your money and then show error messages. The 24 hour helpline often responds with random static noises when picked up. It takes advantage of the fact the students living in this residence has no where to go to do laundry. The selection of this company to provide laundry services is summative of U of T and Chestnut Residence s neglectful attitude towards its students/residents.
Zero stars! The worst service ever. This company has removed all payment terminals from our buildings. The only way to add money is to use their stupid app. And this app is lagging because there is no connectivity in the laundry. You add money with no refund, are you kidding? I want to use a machine once, but they want me to add at least $10 with no refund. F you
All property managers need to boycott this company and their terrible customer service. First off, every time I see the machines they are absolutely filthy because maintenance doesn't even come once a month to check them. Customer service argues, and insists you're lying, they refused to refund any damaged items, I had the hardest time getting a $5 refund on 2 machines that ate the money off the card but wouldn't start drying or washing.
Brutal company! Cards die randomly. Once after my wash. Customer service is very poor. 1st time no call back. 2nd time new card sent to wrong address. 3rd time i called it took them over 3 weeks to mail. If i ever move to an apartment building again I WONT move to one who uses coinamatic. Id give it 0 stars if i could.
Horrible company. Machines are old and always breaking down. Money-loader rarely gives a receipt and when there is a problem a receipt is the first thing they ask for. They told me my money would be returned in 5 business days. When I called to ensure that this was in the works, they said no. I had to create a snip of my bank account showing that they had received the money and send it to them via email. I was told I have to wait two weeks for a cheque refunding my money. Horrible company. I have to wonder if they have ever heard of the term "Unjust Enrichment."
Terrible machine quality, very small machines that are expensive to use. Not to mention they break and malfunction frequently, and the customer service line takes forever to get a hold of. The holding music is the most annoying tune I've ever had to listen to. The customer service reps are nice enough but to actually get help when let's say your clothes are trapped in a machine, expect to wait at least a day.
This is the most arrogant company in existence in Canada. They will NOT answer any of their phones EVER. One number even thanks you for calling and then immediately hangs up!! I am going to call the American office of this company and see if they are any better.

Bad customer service, faulty machines that constantly break, so unrealiable. This company would not be in business if they didn't make contracts with apartment buildings where residents are forced to use their machines. How unfortunate.
I'll make sure I never have to deal with this company again - if it means choosing a different building because of their association, so be it. They take $6 if you move - not sure how is that any of their business. I paid for the services, I returned the card, and yet they decided to take $6 'just because'. It's not even about the money, it's just a rubbish theft. Disgusting. I wish them a quick bankruptcy for bad business!
Where do I begin, I believe their hiring process includes searching for the most unhelpful incompetent insolent buffoons from all across the world and their motto is destroying lives one load at a time. Their machines are disgusting, unhygienic and unclean at best and disabled at worst. If you are ever bored and want to kill 3 hours of your time only to talk to an ignorant incompetent idiot you should definitely try calling their customer service who would be happy to return 80 cents on the $10 you wasted with them. They ll send you a cheque in 3-6 weeks that has your name misspelled. This organization is more mismanaged than the Fyre Festival. Any idiot who feels proud to call themselves the leader of this organization should be ashamed because clearly they have failed.
Due to COVID, McMaster evacuated its residences. I called Coinamatic to find out our current balance and requested a refund. They asked me to return the card and they would issue a payment in return but could not release the balance on the account. That was on April 27. Since that time, I have called them several times and each time the response is different. Some say that a cheque is in the mail, others say that they cannot find the account and will escalate the situation, and another staff member said that they can send me $40 today if that would settle things. I asked him, Pierre, why I would settle for that if the card had the potential of having $90 on it. He said ok-he would escalate it. Then I received an email that I had agreed to the $40 which I had not, and it was from an email to which I could not respond so I had to call them again. Sure enough, I called and got Pierre. He said he would escalate the call. I told him that I have been told that many times and no one called back. He said that he could not control that. I assured him that if his supervisor did not call back, I would. That this was not acceptable and I was not going away. He hung up. He hung up.
Unbelievable!!!!! At this day and age they cannot fix the machine to load a laundry card. Not working since 9 days straight.... like what kind of techs do they have???? I call every day and get a "I'm sorry for the inconvenience"... Is that getting my laundry clean, heck no!!! When you're on hold the automated voice says, "We go over and above for our customers", biggest joke ever! Unacceptable!!!! They do not look for a solution, just make the problem worse with their snarky employees that answer the phones after 5:00 PM.... I have had two nice ladies understanding the problem, but I guess their hands are tied.... unbelievable
Problems with washers and dryers not working on a regular basis. Card loader hasn't worked since Tuesday. I guess coinamtic doesn't care if people need clean clothes.
I tried to put money on the card. It didn't upload on the card - twice. Lost $50.00. Called coinamatic to get my money back. I sent a copy of my bank statement to prove the money was debited from my card. I took a picture of my laundry card to prove the money was not uploaded to the laundry and sent it to coinamatic. I sent the bank statement and pictures to coinamatic and I was called a liar and they wouldn't return my $50.00. Outraged, I called coinamatic and spoke to the supervisor to let him know that the credits he saw in my accounts were transfers that I had made to the account. The credits were not from the bank. After convincing him of this, he said he would send my a laundry card with $50 on it. I received the card. I went to use on Friday March 13th and I am getting a message of 'bad'. The card was never loaded with $50.00. In the end, don't ask for a laundry card with money on it. Ask for a cheque, even if it takes two weeks!

I genuinely never leave negative reviews but I've had countless negative experiences with coinamatic and I've never talked to a helpful or even polite customer service rep. They are always condescending, rude, and do no troubleshooting, deny every request, and have no solutions available for any problem. The reps have no supervisors or managers on duty - or if they do they're just refusing to let you talk to them - and only offer "a call back" which can take 24-72 business hours. their machines break down all the time and getting them serviced is a nightmare.
Company was a good one back before WASH bought it out in 2013. Since then it's gotten rid of all dedicated employees in true American corporate ambush style. Horrible practices and bottom-line management that works its employees to death then disciplines them when they perform accordingly. True shame.....
Took our machine to swap out and did not leave the money for us despite having access to the key and a secure room to leave the coins. Been fighting to get the money back for a month, and who knows if it will even been an accurate amount. Thieves.
This company has horrible customer service. Been waiting 4 days to have a technician come to service our washer machine. They keep telling me it's going to be 24 to 48 hours for them to come out. Wouldn't give a supervisor's name or let me speak to a supervisor. Also if they have so many service calls then maybe hire more workers or work more than 5 days a week.
Right along with the rest of the reviews, their customer service is beyond awful. Tried loading money onto the card and the card didn't take the money but the company was more than happy to take it.

I have never written a review before. Until now! Since they put in these card loading machines there have been numerous incidences where the card loader will not accept any bills. At least 4 times over the last 2 years I have been inconvenienced (and my neighbours too). I have had to take my laundry out to a laundromat because the card loading machine didn't work. The people with no cars must be very inconvenienced! I left a message with a supervisor and never received a reply. They don't seem to value their customers and are slow to fix this issue every time it comes up. I put up a petition in our laundry room asking my neighbours to sign so we could submit it to coinomatic and our property manager to see if we can get some action in improving our service but someone took it down. I suspect the coinomatic repair guy of removing it and have asked our superintendent to check the camera to verify this.They had no right to remove it. In addition the wash times have been lowered but the price to wash and dry went up. The dryer design we have are poor, when you open the door to remove your laundry your clothes fall in the lint trap and get messed up. The washers and dryers are set up so if you pay and start them you can not change the cycles once they're started. Rip Off!

The washing machines are constantly taking more money than the advertised amount on the machine. The customer service reps keep saying "you don't know how to use the machine. This is your fault." They have stolen hundreds of dollars and refuse to refund it or to come onsite to fix the machines.
There are times when laundry is not a mere convenience, but an emergency. This company deserves no stars. Customer service is rude beyond comprehension. I am appalled by their lack of concern. They do not deserve to be in business! Adding insult to injury, as you wait on hold to speak to someone, they blast your ears with their inflated, untrue image of the company. Shame on them. I will be visiting laundromats with more efficient machines.
The ONLY machine in our whole building breaks down on a regular basis. The most recent one occurred over the weekend. We called and notified by Monday. Today (wed) they claim to have only recieved a call on Tuesday and currently still cannot even tell me when a technician will be able to look at it. This is completely unreasonable, I'm not asking for service with 12 or even 24 hours, but they should be able to at least get here within 48 hours of a call.
They obviously don't have enough technicians. Don't get me started on how over priced their machines are etc....
A few weeks ago the machines were taking money off of my card and not starting the washer. I ended up calling Coinamatic and speaking to someone and then I was guided to restart the machines. The restart did help, it took the money off of my card and turned the machine on.
I then asked for a refund and it was promptly returned to my card within minutes. I had to do this process twice that day. Customer service was great. Restarting the machines was annoying but the standard "have you tried turning it off and on again?" was the solution.
Horrific horrific company. We should really get together for a lawsuit. Ripping tenants off with filthy machines that aren't serviced regularly leaving it to a gamble if your clothing will be clean when you wash it. I'm disgusted with this company and I'm sick of their dirty business. Not to mention it's $5.50 for a wash and dry now.
Worst company ever! Machines are constanly Broken, every other time I try to do laundry it just takes my money! Customer service is a joke! I just tried calling and the recording actually said that they changed their number and you can be directed for $3.50 charge! Are you serious! Trying to start a petition to have them removed from the building!
Please use another provider you may damage your whole load. One blanket is all it took in the washer to do this. Really heart breaking to think you just can't trust your wash machines
At first I thought Coinamatic was a good company, but I was wrong. They took over Harco Laundry shortly before I moved out of my previous building . In my current building, the old LG washers and dryers were replaced with Huebsch machines. It was a poor choice for Coinamatic to choose the particular model of Huebsch washers. Many tenants get confused as to which of the four dispensers to fill with detergent and softener. The dryer lint filters in the dryers were designed to be cleaned without being removed. Sometimes when the dryer door is opened the clothes will fall into the lint filter, getting lint stuck to the clothes.
Apart from the poor choice of Huebsch washers, Coinamatic is very lazy with repairs and technicians will only be dispatched when a tenant (customer, like myself) calls and complains. The last incident was two hours of my time wasted with the dryers that had no heat. I wasted 50 minutes with the first dryer, which had no heat and the second dryer as well. $4.00 and 100 minutes later, I brought up wet baby clothes to hang out to dry in the apartment. A phone call to customer service about a row of dryers with no heat got me my $4.00 returned, and a technician sent out ASAP to fix the problem.
The legs on the machines are not leveled, so some of the machines rock back and forth when in use.
The fabric softener dispenser in some of the washing machines do not work. Some of the lint filters in the dryers are torn from tenants being rough/careless when cleaning. As well, there is one screw holding the lint filter in the unit, and the other end of the filter is supposed to go into a slot. Either tenants have forced the slotted end of the filters out, or Coinamatic technicians have not reinstalled the filters properly.
One of the dryer bearings went bad and was making a loud squealing noise when in use. I told Coinamatic customer service when I was requesting a reimbursement for a washing machine error, and they sent a technician out promptly.
When building management closes the laundry room for the day for scheduled maintenance, none of these machine problems I described are fixed. The building management is paying Coinamatic to do the scheduled maintenance, which is not being done properly.
Customer service has been hit-or-miss. Sometimes I get a reimbursement after one phone call, but one time it took three phone calls to receive a reimbursement.
Coinamatic had the nerve to increase the washer price from $1.75 to $2.00, yet they won't fix simple issues like uneven machines, torn lint filters, fabric softener dispensers that do not dispense, etc. I was going to rate this company two stars, but because of the price increase and failure to properly maintain the machines, I give them one star. My one star rating is for customer service promptly dispatching a technician when I call in to report a problem.
Customer Service leaves much to be desired. We've made calls multiple times about a broken washer, and still it hasn't been fixed. There's also a communication breakdown between the technicians, the management and the call representatives.
Coinmatic has the worst customer experience I ve had in a long time. Submitted a web form last week requesting service for some machines in my building, nothing had been done. Called today, went to an agent s phone who clearly was not at their desk. Called back, got another agent who says they don t have access to look at tickets submitted through the web, so she put in a new trouble ticket.
One washer will not start without several attempts to "reboot" the machine. Just this morning, I had trouble with error messages. I loaded my wet articles into the 1st dryer...no problem, but the 2nd dryer (nearest the window) was hell. Constant error messages, & of course the dryer would not start. I kept getting "error 6". Why doesn't Coin-A-Matic post what these error messages mean, & how to correct them. No matter what I did, I could not get the error message cleared. What made the situation even more irritating was the fact that I had just topped up the laundry card. It shouldn't be the tenants to contact Coin-A-Matic..it should be the superintendent or Melchior. THEY are the ones who contracted to bring these machines into the building. I shall be contacting the Superintendent this morning, & if I'm not offered a new laundry card., WITH the monies that I lost, I shall then contact Management. This is ridiculous. We have 21 apartments in this building, & just 2 washers & 2 dryers.
Absolute garbage service terrible machines that are broken and old AF. They don't clean clothes prices are outrageous the machines are tiny and unreliable the cards breakdown frequently the absolute worst in the industry bar none. If I could put a washer and dryer in my apartment I would. Half the machines are down all the time they take forever to replace or fix the problem. Then they do come say it's all good then one day later same machine is down. You have garbage equipment nonidea how you survive as a company. Truly aappauling service and the worst machines in the industry that hike about 5 pairs of pants a few t shirts and if your lucky some Socks. That's cause you can't fill it up with clothes if you expect to have even half clean clothing. As someone who has hundred dollar pants and ahirts and socks worth 25$ it's frustrating putting a load of laundry worth more than the garbage machine I put them in to attempt to clean my clothes and my children's clothes. It's pretty close to flushing money down the toilet, if you have the time and a car go to literally any other laundromat on earth that does not use Coinmatic anything as its all bemroken down cheap garbage and has no place in any building anywhere. Terrible. Stay away at all costs. These jerkoffs machine ruined a pair of my pants brand new wore them once and it melted them and tore Steal tip drawstrings to shreds I just imported some clothing from Dubai it was 100 in duty. Plus the 177 $ order I contacted the company and to replace just the pants it's 155$ coinmatic will not take responsibility although I have proof I've called 12 times I've been yelled at told how to speak told what I'm allowed to say or not say. Customer service is a joke they just speak over you don't listen they lie, they claim they have no manager or boss until someone transfers you to a supervisor but it's her answering machine I've left 2 messages on and not recieved a call or email back as I was told would happen. These people are disgustingly underqualified in every area to do the jobs they have hence the 1 star rating if it was possible they would have negative rating which should be possible cause 1 star is way way to many for a crooked shade factory like these jerks. Worst service. You will never see all machines working. At least half of them is always doesn't work.
And the worst part is laundry card. You can use only their card ( no credit card or cash) but you never can fill money from you credit or debit. Machine doesn't work for weeks.
They should keep maintence at least weekly or bi-weekly..Some people who live in the building need a 1 on 1 lessin on how to use these machine because it sures looks like some dont. They wash their pet stuff, the washer stink like onion, the part where the softner is is all stuck and dirty and there is mold in all 5 washers. Coinmatic please do a great job it us who is giving you our money we deserve good machine and maintence. Us we wash our clothes some of us of small kids and theere is also allergies on some residents due to pet stuff being washed in these machines. No winder the majority of people.go.elsewhere to wash. I think this company deserves more credit. this is my experience...
I broke my laundry card which had 31.25 balance on it. I called the 1-800 # and the lady who helped me was nice and told me the steps to hopefully get my money back. I followed the instructions and mailed the broken card to their head office. I paid $2 in postage but whatever. I even emailed them to let them know of the broken card that I mailed.
Honestly, I didn't think much of it as I didn't get response in email. But after about 4 weeks, I received an email that they have received my request and will mail me a reimbursement cheque 31.25.
4 business days later, today Sept. 16, I received the cheque.
I'm very happy how this turned out and that I got my money back. I even attached a photo.
Again with the cards. I was ripped off for $30 by one of the card machines and was told to send an email with my personal info and a screen snap of the transaction. They have so far blocked two emails from me and this is just a long list of issues I have had with this company. Do not do business with them!
Like every other review here, my experience has been atrocious. I sold my washing machine from my condo and begin using the communal laundry room. It's been three weeks and every week there has been some sort of an issue. Today my card randomly stopped working. I have a balance of $30 but the machines just don't work with the card. Of course customer service won't pickup to help.
Where s the zero star? This company is despicable, predatory, and full of lies. They tell the landlord the machine works, when it doesn t. The landlord takes Coinamatic s word because their contract allows for collusion. Customer service is atrocious, their machines are old, broken, and stinky right after a new installation. Seriously something wrong with this company. Hard to avoid if your landlord or manager uses them. BBB or government needs to investigate these crooks.
