Usually I use quick Q ride but they seemed out of business due to COVID-19. I got a discount coupon $54 minus $6 =48. We were two people with three suit cases and two carry ons. The driver said he needed to charge $10 more for two carry ons. Since we had never charged small bags by QUICK Q we were not happy. The car was dirty, old, and very small, and his driving was very dangerous. At the end of the ride I was charged $68.25 and my fare was $62! Why $14 more??? I questioned but the driver said it was toll included but the toll was charged separately. He pushed me to pay, and asked me to hand my card. While I was really unhappy he said I needed to pick up other customers . Terrible experience and I will never ever use Carmel in my life.

I was a bit anxious about using Carmel Limos because of the reviews and also because I was coming from the Netherlands and didn't have a cell phone to call them with. My plane arrived later and customs took awhile so I thought that I would get charged more or I'd miss my car-- yah lots of worries.
It was all very smooth despite the airport being so busy. I used the free phone in the terminal to call Carmel and 10 min. later they were at the pick up sign like they said they were going to be. My name was in the window so I knew which car was mine asap.

Tonight was my first ride with Carmellimo. I was picked up as promised from JFK and delivered to my destination in Manhattan without complications. The car was clean, the driver kind. When someone at the airport tried to "snitch" my ride, the driver corrected it and called me to find me. I will definitely use again!

Usually: 1) on time; 2) good drivers; 3) reasonably good navigation--although mostly dependent on GPS devices; 4) cars are clean and well maintained; 5) prices are OK except during "peak" when they are quite expensive. Regular service is good but sometimes they over book and then cancel at the last minute.

Driver was rude, spoke on his phone loudly the entire 1.5 hour long trip. Didn t get my luggage out of the car at end of the trip. He didn t give me any option but maximum tipping of 25% ? And I was overcharged. He said he would send me a receipt and I never got one. I emailed the company twice about this and NO response. Terrible service. Do not recommend.

Used carmel car service yesterday from ewr to wyndham midtown 45 in Manhattan. Driver picked us up within 5 minutes of retrieving our luggage and was extremely courteous. Took the time to tell us about different parts of the city as we were driving. His name is Kala. Will be using them on return trip to ewr and exclusively whenever we come to the city, which is every year in January.
I like using Carmel because they are always on time and if they run a bit late they call you. they are very professional and friendly. I have not encounter one that wasnt professional and friendly.

I decided to book a car thru Carmel to bring my Elderly Mother and Elderly Aunt home from the city late evening. They had a sign for this car service at the airport. We downloaded the app and plugged in where we wanted to go and within a few minutes the car showed up. We had a picture of the driver and his car on the screen, along with the car number. And there is an option to ping the driver before you get in to make sure you are getting in the right vehicle. This was my first time using Carmel and I reserved it a week in advance to take me from JFK to Times Square on a Wednesday at around 2pm. When I got to passenger pickup and used the app to Show Me My Car it just spun and spun and spun and spun and spun - well you get the idea. Granted I was using T-Mobile but I shouldn t place blame there since the Carmel app did this same thing the next time I used it as well. Anyhow when the driver arrived he was super friendly, got out and put luggage in trunk for us. The car was a bit warm for me but fine for my wife and daughter. It was a good ride for my first time experience. I didn t rate excellent only because of the fact I had to call since the app just kept spinning and spinning.

I've taken rides with Carmel at least 10(+) times now and shared cars with friends using Carmel.
This is my honest review, and I am awarded $10 Car cash from Carmel for sharing it. Which is great. They're constantly rewarding customers in various ways, and the cars are always in top condition.
Use a sign up code when you start, and they'll give you 6$ off your first 6 rides--at least at the time I'm writing this.
Otherwise: The drivers are kind, polite, and timely. I've never had a late ride, scheduled or not. I'd definitely recommend for any trips to or from the airport. Where with Uber and Lyft I've had late drivers, drivers who fell asleep while driving, drivers who refused to wear masks, etc (not that I'm saying that's the rule--just my experience of their services), and I've had multiple issues with getting double or triple charged, once even having a driver threaten to take my suitcase and leave if I didn't tip the exact amount he asked, Carmel drivers have been incredible. Predictable prices, personable characters, and traffic-safe trips have been the Carmel standard.
When you schedule a ride, they'll call ahead when they get there (always early but not too early). Drivers use proper health protocols, and in the past I've had drivers provide water and hand sanitizer of their own volition.
Prices are highly competitive, and the app is reliable.
I've taken cars to Newark, La Guardia, and JFK. At the moment, Carmel cars are probably the safest and most reliable travel transport option barring contracted personal drivers or the like.
Reliable, safe, well-priced. My go-to service between home and NYC airports.

Driver used the excuse of toll charge to get us to pay him more in tips. We know because we had used another company a few months previously and that driver never mentioned about paying for a toll to Boston airport.
This company needs to hold their drivers accountable better.

I was very satisfied with my most recent trip with Carmel Car Service. The representative who made the reservation was courteous, helpful, and efficient. The driver arrived on time (actually a few minutes early), was friendly, and clearly concerned that we should be comfortable in his car. He chose efficient routes and got us to our destinations (we were making two stops) quite quickly. This was my third trip with Carmel. I expect to use Carmel again soon.

The van was immaculate. Our ride over to the city was very pleasant. We will be using Carmel Limo again for our departure AND recommending them to our friends who come to NY.

Got to JFK on time which was great but our driver drove like a 15 year old. On the gas and off so much that we literally bounced back and forth the whole trip. On top of that, the car had such a bad stench , we had to crack the windows.

Everything was great except the driver said that the company requires charging $19.75 in tolls for Newark when he took Routes 1&9 and thus only had the Holland Tunnel toll, which is $16.00. There s no valid reason for this overcharge. Particularly since the driver was prompt and a good, safe driver.
I used Carmel Limo from Newark Airport to Manhattan. It was easy to book and you can include tip and tolls online. They have an app that makes it easy to book or with a web browser. The car was a very new and clean Ford Expedition and the driver was courteous and drove safely. The fare $83 including tax, tip and tolls. I will definitely use this service again.

I use the Bellhop app and saw Carmel's price was 50% of Lyft or Uber so i decided to try them. These guys struggle to compete with the seamless experience of using Uber and Lyft. The app works... Sort of. It took 15 minutes and 3 phone calls to/from dispatch to find the driver. The car was a beat up minivan and the Chinese driver could speak no English at all. Wanted me to enter the address in his phone (which was only typing Mandarin characters). He was a decent driver but didn't use turn signals once in the hour drive from Manhattan to Connecticut. He also took a very long route, but as i couldn't communicate with him, i couldn't explain the proper route. When i tipped him 15% (for a less than impressive overall experience) he acted like I'd stolen from him. If i can save $50, I'll probably use them again but only if I'm not in a hurry! PS - I was offered $ to write a review, which i did not accept.
I booked online from overseas. The price was similar to Uber. I didn t have a US phone sim so I wondered how it would work out, but no problem was encountered. I got off the plane made it through immigration and called using a WiFi app. I told them what I was wearing and they told me where to stand and wait. It was simple and efficient. I had an excellent and experienced driver. I will use them again.

My wife and I flew into JFK for our honeymoon in NYC on June 8th. I had booked our trip via Expedia and this company was recommended as an option so I booked a car from the airport to our hotel. Entered the time and flight info, as would be usual (I have book many car services in the past). I opted for the tools and gratuity to be included for sake of ease. I received an email with instructions that indicated that I would have to call when we retrieved our bags and would be told where to meet our car OK, not ideal, but OK. The email also had a link to their app which I promptly downloaded.
Upon arrival at JFK I opened the app and was presented with a screen with a button telling me to click there when we had our bags. I put my phone in my pocket and we made our way to baggage claim. After retrieving our bags I expected to simply click the button and all would be well. Nope. Instead the app looked just like normal when you open it, with a map view and an option to select destination. So I went to my trips and saw the listing which said cancelled . Great. So I found their number and called and explained that I was just trying to figure out where our car was. The first question what terminal are you in? Really? Have you been to JFK? The signage is severely lacking; I had no idea. So I walked to the information counter and got the answer. Then I was told where to meet our car. OK, not a big deal. It worked out at least.
The driver was very professional and helped with our bags and held the doors for us. Very nice vehicle as well. Got us to our hotel quickly and easily and helped unload bags.
All in all I was only unhappy with the experience with the app. But consider the situation, we had just gotten off a 4-hour, 6am flight and arrived in an unfamiliar airport. What a customer wants is to feel like everything is handled. And, at first, that is exactly how I felt. But then to see that the trip had been cancelled in the app is not a comforting feeling, then add to that the customer service rep asking basically where we are OK clearly she knew who I was and I had entered flight info when I booked the car, a good system on her end would have that information, especially when that information had to have been given to the driver, right? Turned out not to be a big deal, but in the moment, in that situation it is not a great feeling. Could use some improvement.
For our return to the airport at the end of our trip I opted for Lyft. Honestly I would opt for Lyft, or even Uber, in the future which is exactly what we use to and from our home airport. I simply thought that in an unfamiliar airport having a car already arranged would be best. But the cost either way is basically the same so, if I am meeting the car outside anyway, I ll go with the company that has never just randomly cancelled a scheduled ride and makes me feel comfortable.

Carmel Car Service told me on Monday, March 11, 2019 that they guaranteed a car and driver to be at my home on WEDNESDAY, March 13, 2019 to take me to Chelsea, where I was to board a bus for Washington, DC.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, Robert from Carmel Car Service phoned me 10 MINUTES before the scheduled pick up to tell me that the five drivers he had available did not want to pick me up and he had no plan to send anyone in the near future.
Carmel Car Service took credit card money for this trip on Monday, March 11, 2019.
This is not car service. Carmel has a chronic habit of abandoning passengers after taking their money. I wish I could leave less than one star rating.

The Carmel app is so easy to use and they do keep track of your flight in case of flight delay and Carmel doesn't charge if that happens! Prices are very reasonable. #LOVECARMEL.
