Waited an 1 and a half for a car that I prepaid for and reserved in advance. Was told multiple times it would "just be another 15 minutes" but was left waiting. I asked for a refund which they didn't give, so I was stuck waiting for the car I had reserved. I filed 2 complaints. It's been almost a week with no response. I travel often and am comfortable saying I will never use this service again.

I'm a native New Yorker and Carmel has always been very reliable. I use recently to JFK and was better and more reasonable as all the other car services that are on your phone

I used this car service from the lower east side to EWR. 25 minutes travel time at midday! Full disclosure: This is my review and I am awarded $10 Car Cash from Carmel for sharing it. Pickup was on time with my name in the window so it was very easy to spot. Three people, three bags, and the fee was clear. You can add any tolls and tip you choose to which adds to the convenience, or pay tolls/tip in cash at the end of the ride. I used the Carmel service based on a referral from a family member who lives in NY. Very convenient, courteous and on time.

Highly recommend Carmel car services. When making my booking they helped me get a discount. They were quick and efficient; the ride from the airport went smoothly, the driver was polite and professional. Overall great experience.

Booking a car was easy on line, we only waited a couple of minutes for the car to arrive. The driver was really helpful with our bags. And it was a very decent price. My family has used Carmel for 20+ years. They are always prompt, reliable & professional. The app is super easy to use. The cars are nice & clean. This is my review and I am awarded $10 Car cash for posting it, although I recommend Carmel to all my friends.

The car never showed up! The gal on the phone kept insisting our driver was only 10 minutes away. After the 4th phone call, they admitted they didn t even have a driver for us. I wasted an hour waiting for a driver at LaGuardia, outside on a crazy window, and 28 degrees day on a December evening with my child. Eventually we just caught an Uber, that showed up in 3 minutes. As of this review, my money has not been refunded either. I've called 3 times for a refund, sat on hold numerous times, and 7 days after a no-show they said they would process a refund in 3 days - we shall see. The customer service has been terrible and I really don't know why a refund isn't automatic when the company admits a driver is not available for your paid ride.

Four other customers were also left without a car from this company at LaGuardia during the hour while we waited. All of them eventually learned there was not a driver available for them either.

Ridiculous. If you don't want to be left stranded, do not use this company.

Driver arrived five minutes before pick up time at 5AM, chose a route that while slightly less direct, saved us 15 minutes. From UWS in Manhattan we were at Newark drop off at 5:30. Used Carmel to pick up my daughter at JFK last week on one of the coldest nights of the year. The flight was over two hours late.
they found her easily. reliable, efficient clean limo and the seats had warmers.

Carmel is my first and only choice for a car service. A trip to NYC for me is made complete when I can have a safe, professional and comfortable ride into the city. For someone who isn t from a big city, this removes all of my stress about the trip.

I had a 7AM flight and was leery about using Uber and Lyft because I felt somewhat unsafe about doing so at such an early hour. A friend of mine suggested Carmel Car and I figured I'd give it a try. I'm glad that I did. My driver called me early and let me know he was ready to pick me up when I was ready to come down and that I could call him to let him know if I would be ready before the time that I scheduled. I'm so not a morning person that I'm happy that I got that call. It helped to keep me on track. The driver was very pleasant and accommodating. I felt safe leaving my home and getting into his car in the wee hours of the morning. Of course I got to the airport with time to spare and no stress whatsoever. I loved that I could pay the tip in advance. That early in the morning I didn't want to have to think about anything other than just getting to my destination. I'm getting something out of the deal for doing this review, but it is exactly how I feel. I missed my opportunity to book a return trip from the airport with Carmel because I didn't think to book the trip in advance. I paid much more than I should have using a yellow taxi to get back home. I won't be making that mistake again!

We love Carmel! Both of the friendly, punctual, and excellent drivers got us from JFK airport and then back to Newark airport on our recent visit to NYC. We arranged transportation a day ahead and all went according to plan. Phone calls were promptly answered. We highly recommend Carmel Limo and look forward to riding with them in the future. BTW, disclaimer: we received $10 car cash credit for writing a review, but that does not impact our recommendation. We had a great experience with Carmel and will def use this service next time we need transportation.

The reservation was easy via internet and I got the confirmation very fast. The driver was very friendly and helpful.

Booked online, easy good website. We were delayed at Customs JFK Airport, called Carmel office to advise them and said not a problem just call back once we had our cases. Directions good as to where we would be picked up. Cab arrived after 5 min and took us to hotel. Would highly recommend this company. Had read reviews online before booking, some were bad but don't know why as it was a good hassle free experience. Paid online for fare and gave driver toll and tip. Will def book again. Normally I like them and would give them 5 stars but yesterday my son arrived in a carmel car where the driver wore no mask the entire trip and came to my door with my sons bag wearing no mask. I complained and they offered $8 off the next trip.

Carmel was great. They were prompt and communicated with me every step of the way. Will definitely use Carmel on all my trips in and out of NYC.

We use Carmel Car service more than any other for rides to Laguardia and EWR. Their fares are always cheaper than the competition and they are reliable and timely. They take their pledge for excellent service seriously. If they are ever late, which is rare, or have to re route, which is rare, they offer generous discounts for future service. I love Carmel car Service! Their staff and drivers are courteous and drivers arrive promptly for scheduled pickups. I have used them for airport drop off for years. My dad has used them for decades. Booking takes ten seconds, fares are competitive, drivers are excellent and punctual. A no-brainer. I got $10 credit for posting this honest review.

The driver called at the exact time he was supposed to pick us up for a ride to jfk, to let us know that there wasn t a car in the area and we should find alternative transportation
To make a long story short we were extremely stressed, we parked at jfk at a cost of $185+ and we arrived to the airport late
We ve used this car service before and we cannot believe the lack of service

Had we known sooner we could have made alternative plans

After terrible experiences with Uber, Lyft, and Via going to the airports in NYC, I went back to Carmel. Unlike the ride share services, Carmel can drop and pick you up outside the terminals, and their drivers never get lost or leave without you. Instead, they help you with your luggage, are usually 10-15 minutes early for your ride, and give you a great ride at about 30-50% less than any of the ride share services. Plus, you now have the option to use Carmel Pool on your inbound ride, which cuts the price by 50%.

Carmel operates out of most US cities, so, when I had a chauffeured ride fail to show up at Tampa International, I simply booked with Carmel on my outbound and inbound flights there, too. I now use the app on my phone as an alternative to Uber or Via.

I made a last-minute call for a car over the phone this morning and the car arrived in 10 minutes, which was faster than I expected. The driver knew the city streets very well and I arrived at my destination very quickly, so I was very happy with the service I received.

Flew into LGA ... what a MESS of an airport. Hopefully the much needed infrastructure improvements will finish ahead of schedule. It s a long walk to get to the car pick up but my driver knew the short cuts into the city- avoided the tunnel and got into mid town in less than 30 minutes in heavy traffic. Had a promo discount code too. Highly recommended service.

We had to call for our pickup at JFK even though we booked 2 weeks in advance. Then we waited for over 30 minutes for the car to come. The interior of the car was not in great condition. For our reservation back to the airport from our hotel, the driver was clearly aggravated that we were 20 minutes late and they had to wait and started to argue with me and demanded additional money for the wait, which we declined. Demanded a bigger tip for the worst customer service experience I ve ever had for a car service, which we also declined, and threatened us that future rides would be affected somehow. Worst car service ever. There will definitely not be a next time for us with this car service. 0 stars. Please teach your drivers what customer service is.

I was a little reluctant at first to sign up with another car service besides Uber. However I m very happy with Carmel. Their cars are on time or a little early and the ride has been consistently smooth.

They also have phone help, which is a big thing for me. Twice they refunded the billing for rides. Once the app said the car couldn t be booked, but it booked it accidentally and the other time the car was 10 minutes late because of a snowstorm so I took a yellow New York City cab.

I can't seem to click ZERO STARS but I would if I could. This company couldn't be more unhelpful, more rude, and more dishonest. I run a company myself and I would never treat a paying customer this way. I reserved a car through Expedia and there was no fine print on anything I received saying that I would owe another $18 for a toll. AFTER I was already in the car, basically trapped, half way through the city to my destination I was told. As far as I'm concerned this service is horrible. We called them to explain we had no idea about this extra charge and they were extremely unhelpful in the call, telling us to "read the tiny letters on the bottom of our paper". I'm an adult and I know what fine print is. Like I said, I'm a business owner and that isn't how you talk to customers. Then they said, well you either pay the $18 or we will take you back to the airport. My driver did not speak English so he did not understand we did not want to pay the toll - he paid the toll and then we gave him the $18 once we arrived at our hotel. Do not use this service, pay a cab or take a shuttle.

We have used Carmel for years to get to NYC airports. They have upped their game recently with a new app that allows you to track where your driver is (Uber-like). Drivers consistently courteous and generally quite friendly.

Carmel s logistics are excellent: they alert you in advance regarding your ride. Plus, their prices are reasonable. The drivers, however, range from mediocre to excellent.

Despite the disclaimer at the end of this review, the service Carmel provided was truly excellent. It was the smoothest 5am family trip to Newark possible. The driver was on time and very pleasant. I highly recommend their service.

I can t recommend Carmel highly enough. We prebooked a return trip with them from JFK to our hotel in New York. The service was easy to use and reliable. Unfortunately we booked with another company in LA who let us down twice and have taken our money. Carmel came to our rescue on both occasions.

Carmel car is the only.car service I use. The drivers are always on time and courteous.

Driver arrived 5 min and called up, was quick, efficient, polite, everything smooth.

The hotel told me a car service to La Guardia would be $79 with tolls and tip....and I could not pick my time...said I would have to be picked up at 6:30.
I called Carmel, their price was $36.75 + tolls and gratuity. I asked for a 7AM pickup.
The driver was there a few minutes early and it only took about 20 minutes to get to La Guardia, as it was Sunday morning.
The fare...with tolls and a $10 tip...came to $55...almost $25 less than the hotel.
I was very pleased with Carmel's service and will definitely use them again.

I ve been using Uber for months. Besides the expensive rates, what has really turned me off was how distgusting some of the cars have been. So, I tried Carmel. The 6 s jingle works like a charm!

I booked a car from Harlem to the southern most tip of Manhattan and my fare was TWENTY DOLLARS less than uber! Not only that, but I was able to choose the type of vehicle I wanted!

The driver was professional and the car was clean and shiny! I didn t have to walk across the street or around the corner to find him (plus!) and overall, it reminded me of how much I prefer black car service over everything these days.

I am planning to have my 3rd trip with Carmel today. If my ride sucks, I will be sure to say so!

My only issue was with the return trip. The street in front of the hotel was blocked, The driver called me to specify an alternate pickup location. His English was so challenged that we had a very difficult time locating one another as I could not understand what he was telling me. But we found him and made it

I trusted Carmel with picking up my daughter in the freezing cold middle of the night. Not only was the driver on time, but he was early, and in exactly the right spot. Thank you so much, Carmel!! I was compensated for this review, but I have used them several times in the past with no compensation and equally excellent results. Carmel rules.

Great experience, we had the same driver Ping both directions, who was pleasant and helpful, even arriving at hotel for return trip before we had requested on the very convenient text message link that worked great on airport arrival although the parking garage where we were met was a trip from our arrival trip and the directions on getting around the La Guardia terminal could be improved by either La Guardia or even within the Carmel App

1. Driver didn t understand a word of what we said to him. We asked for access to a power cord he said yes. But he reAlly didn t understand.
2. Driver was an aggressive driver-not necessary.
3. He wouldn t accept my credit card for payment said he has no WiFi access-decal in car specifically says payments maybe made with credit cards.
4. He had a bad cell phone- unable to easily communicate with him

I am told I need to offer a disclaimer that Carmel is giving me a10$ credit on my trip. I will look for alternative companies next time.
