Not much to add at this point. The rumors are true: It's awesome if you're into a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. If you're looking to be stuffed then you probably won't like the experience, but, man, this is just such a unique spot. Worth the spend if you're, you know, that way.

Kilimanjaro is just a mountain; Paris is just a city; a Ferrari is just a car. Alinea is not just a restaurant. Eating at Alinea is surprise; it's magic. You have to reserve months in advance and that means you get to anticipate for a good long time. It's worth the wait.

The service is excellent, and the plating is beautiful. The food wasn't the exquisite experience I thought it would be. Half our courses contained fish or seafood; if you don't love them, don't go. It's just not worth nearly $450 a person (without alcohol).
