Ritu Narikkattu Review of Alinea Group

Good was great, service was on point and the decor was beautiful. The food is totally different than anything I've ever experienced before. The preparation, presentation, and combinations were incredible. However, I was disappointed in the lack of a narrative. The flavors and themes for each course seemed disconnected. They had special meaning to the chef, but that messaging was missed. This is experiential eating, so having the meaning and thought process behind the menu feels important. I asked a few questions, but they didn't seem super welcome. For example, when we left, we were presented with sheet music for the William Tell overture, which inspired a dessert....tell me more. Why did we do an Asian course followed by a hunting inspired course.
Overall, it's beautiful, elegant and delicious. Definitely worth the experience.
