Overall I enjoyed my overall multi sensories experience in Alinea. There is many clever tricks with in the "show". The junior sommelier guiding us were very helpful in helping me choose the correct wines for the meals (she saved be squid & yam dishes for me). The wait staffs are wonderful and knowledgeable. Alinea is not 5 stars for me because they served caviar and four gras with in the dish. First this ingredients are unethical, but also its nothing special with these ingredients beside the price. In my mind, talented chef should be able to use everyday ingredients and elevate it beyond normal everyday cook. Expensive ingredients do not showcase of a chef's skill. Looking forward to seeing what Alinea have to offer when we come back to Chicago.
