Went to New Orleans for my birthday with 2 friends and booked this hotel because I had walked through it on previous occasions. Because there were 3 of us, I booked a king suite with a king bed and a sofa bed in the living room. When I investigated it further, I found out there was no coffee maker in the room, nor was there a fridge. I found that strange as this is a high end hotel and we were in a suite! I was called by Danielle Hammett who was our assigned personal concierge. I explained my concerns and I also asked for 2 queen beds. She explained that there was only one suite that had queen beds and it was booked but she could move me to a deluxe king suite and that we would have a refrigerator and room service would bring us coffee every day. I was impressed and when we arrived the room was perfect. Thanks to Danielle our stay was great! We loved the hotel and the staff was very friendly. It was truly a wonderful birthday celebration. Also, the concierge Wayne Cody made some restaurant recommendations that everyone was happy with. We could walk almost everywhere and loved the location of the hotel. We also enjoyed the Sazarac Bar in the lobby, however our bartender there was the most sullen of all the staff we encountered. The pool area was very nice and the general ambience wonderful. Definitely worth staying at.

Fantastic experience from check in to check out. Spacious and well appointed king room that was exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and very welcoming and accommodating. The Sazerac Bar is a great place to unwind. We'll definitely return for another stay.

Had drinks at the Sazerac bar. The bar is beautiful and a classic New Orleans stop, but over the years, the drinks have gotten outrageous in price. $17 for a Sazerac is borderline mad and stops you from getting a second or third.

I've spent a lot of time in New Orleans and stayed at A LOT of hotels. This is my new favorite hotel and set the bar by which I'll measure every other hotel. The Sazerac bar is fantastic. The staff is so friendly -- greeted my husband and me by name when we arrived. Before arriving, our personal concierge had emailed me to ask if we had any special requests and sent a list of restaurants within walking distance. Sadly, there wasn't time to visit the spa, but I indulged in room service more than once and it did not disappoint!

I ll start with the Cons.

I ll start with the Cons.

The week that my party and I stayed at this place was definitely not the best.
- I understand that they just replaced the carpeting, but dang, no one vacuumed the entire week I was there.
- The Elevator was also down for a bit, but this was their sign...Not classy at all.
- There were dishes that someone left in the hallway that stayed there for about 3 days(probably longer, but I had checked out by then).
- The Spa does not open till 9am. Most people would have already started their day already. I guess it s partly my fault for not checking beforehand, but I thought It was safe to assume it d be open by 7am like the Wynn I stayed at in Vegas.
- The Front Desk Receptionist Lady, was absolutely not having it. No smile. Very judgmental attitude.

The Pros
- Close to my favorite Restaurant, The Ruby Slipper Cafe.
- Walking distance to Bourbon St
- The Fountain Lounge has exceptional customer service
- The Front Desk Managers were respectful and understanding.
- Beautiful Lobby

I've stayed at the Roosevelt many times, and I am always happy with the experience. This last time was no different. While the rooms and location are great, the service is what makes it exceptional. The small extra acts and gifts from the staff for our anniversary stay really helped make this a memorable experience and embody the Louisiana spirit of lagniappe.

The Sazerac bar was excellent. The cocktails were made very well, and the bar has a rich history (available to read in a binder behind the bar, with pictures and old menus!) Highly recommended if you're into cocktail history.

Horrible experience during Final Four College Basketball Tournament. Had so many things stolen by housekeepers that there is not enough space to list. Could not sleep due to handicap so I went outside to get some fresh air; called room service for a pot of coffee and they would not deliver to lobby, said that I needed to go to my room. No wonder they lost their 5 Star rating.

The hotel was beautiful inside, they had a lovely Christmas decor that people flocked to see. It's really close to the popular hot spots and everything is very walkable. The rooms poked really nice and the staff was very friendly.

Don't bother staying here; as a three year diamond hhonors member, the service was abysmal. Definitely not what you would expect from a Hilton property let alone a Waldorf Astoria. Stayed for 7 nights, with a broken ice machine. If you've ever had a hang over before, you know how important ice can be. No issue right call room service/front desk... nope they never show up. Tried six different times and got ice twice. I spent 416,000 points and sadly I must say it's a waste. Stay at the Ritz it's across the street, not as glamorous of a lobby but judging my parents room to mine; it's nicer.

Wonderful guest services, spectacular facility. Would have liked to have a tub for soaking, but the pool had a hot tub so the shower was sufficient. There was no in-room kitchenette or coffee maker, but coffee service was available either through room service or complimentary "butler style" (read carafe & cups with the fixin's on a tray).

Two things that would have enhanced our stay:
-Our room was next to the main street, which got noisy in the wee hours. Tough after a long night... It might have been nice to have the option of a quiter location at check-in.
-We had a hard time catching housekeeping & turndown service due to our admittedly wonky schedule. A door hanger for "No Service" or "Service Please" and another for "Turn Down Please" or "No Turndown" would have let us take better advantage of these services.

Cody and Don at the concierge desk and Randy the doorman were particulary helpful and personable. Many thanks to them!

The in-house clubs/restaurants were very nice, but be careful not too let your eyes be bigger than your stomach! Some of the choices are VERY rich.

5 stars for staff.
5 stars for facility.
4.5 stars for our stay overall.

I visited the Roosevelt to view the Christmas decorations they put up every year. The sight is amazing!!!! The hotel is extraordinary and you will be pleased by the friendly staff. A must visit or stay during the holiday season!!

My room wasn't ready on time and when I was transferred to another room it was a lesser quality room with no view. The lobby was nice but that's about where the niceness ended. Room was very small but nice.

The walk through the lobby to the bar is pretty spectacular. The bar itself is a nice mix of classic and modern. The menu really highlights classics like the Ramos Gin Fizz and Sazerac which was created here.

Beautiful hotel, great service. Gym was hidden away through a winding back corrider, into a spa and after you exit the gift shop (joking on the last part). No coffee maker in the room?! Nice rooftop patio. I would recommend.

I never understood the reasoning by giving Hotel's rating based off what they had to offer. My review is based on the price I paid and what I received. I paid about $250/night. I've stayed in numerous other 4 star hotels in Downtown New Orleans and in other cities and this hotel was the worst of them. The lobby is beautiful and ornate and the restaurant and lounge are fantastic but the pool is incredibly small while the area around the pool is gigantic. The staff was friendly and there wasn't much to complain about on the customer service front but when you pay $250 a night you expect your room to be worth the price. The room was smaller than my bedroom at home. It had been superficially renovated with some nice furniture and curtains but the room itself needed repairs/upgrades. The bathroom was incredibly small, and could not accommodate 2 people using the mirror/sink or the shower. The bathroom door didn't stay shut, the heating/ac did not work well, the tv was out dated and the remote was something from 10 years ago, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the in room fridge had something spilled in it which smelled terrible and made a mess.

Very disappointing. Does not need to be considered a 4.5 start hotel, at all.

The Christmas decorations here are always breathtaking, and the Sazerac bar is a must visit on a trip to the Big Easy. It can be quite noisy, but any drink can be taken anywhere on hotel grounds.

What a great Christmas break at an awesome hotel. Located a short walk from all forms of entertainment and shopping. The rooms are first class and very well decorated. There are 2 restaurants and a cafe onsite making it really easy for the nights we decided to stay in. The Christmas decor in the lobby draws crowds and is very beautiful. Bring a good camera for some amazing pictures.

Stayed here as part of a group over Halloween and overall, was quite impressed by the hotel - though found the service to be a bit lacking. It s definitely got the bones of a old-style, high-end hotel and with relatively low rates (especially for a Waldorf-Astoria). Rooms are well-decorated, though bathrooms are a bit small in some rooms. It s nice they have a pool, but it felt a little dead when we were there (though I guess it was off season). Lobby and restaurants/bars are great.

The rooms, the decor, the everything was immaculate. Marble floors everywhere, and detailed mosaics. The beauty was second only to the most incredible staff which made the stay memorable. Truly and experience, don't pass it up!

Great hotel - however, if it's Mardi Gras just know that you cannot get access to your hotel if you are away from the area. They block the streets and make it difficult to get to the hotel and the cabs refuse you service. You need to be prepared to walk and in some instances long distances.
