I never understood the reasoning by giving Hotel's rating based off what they had to offer. My review is based on the price I paid and what I received. I paid about $250/night. I've stayed in numerous other 4 star hotels in Downtown New Orleans and in other cities and this hotel was the worst of them. The lobby is beautiful and ornate and the restaurant and lounge are fantastic but the pool is incredibly small while the area around the pool is gigantic. The staff was friendly and there wasn't much to complain about on the customer service front but when you pay $250 a night you expect your room to be worth the price. The room was smaller than my bedroom at home. It had been superficially renovated with some nice furniture and curtains but the room itself needed repairs/upgrades. The bathroom was incredibly small, and could not accommodate 2 people using the mirror/sink or the shower. The bathroom door didn't stay shut, the heating/ac did not work well, the tv was out dated and the remote was something from 10 years ago, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the in room fridge had something spilled in it which smelled terrible and made a mess.

Very disappointing. Does not need to be considered a 4.5 start hotel, at all.
