HORRIBLE SERVICE!! The pictures on the website is not a REPRESENTATION of what you will be getting!
I have travel to NYC multiple times a year and I really thought that the rooms that they were advertising and the price was reasonable until I checked in. First off I paid for an upgrade on my room - I had a King Suite however upgraded to a balcony and didn't received the room I paid for upon check-in. When I brought it up to their attention downstairs at check in, they were very rude and told me that it wasn't available and that the room I had was the same however it just didn't have a balcony. I explained to the manager that when I completed my upgrade I paid for the balcony which was clearly indicated on the email . She gave me an attitude and told me that I can try tomorrow to see if they had it available and told me to make sure I had all my belongings out of the room before 12pm if I wanted to change rooms. They didn't give me the difference back and didn't offer a resolution, all they advise is that the room was prepaid and non refundable!
The rooms are very outdated unless you book the Executive rooms and those are hardly available , which you would have to pay more for. It is very deceiving once you enter their lobby however once you leave the lobby to your rooms it's a wreck. Walls are dirty, carpets are filthy and have tears with duct tape holding them together. For the money I paid for 3 nights which was approx. 830 , I could of stayed at a Westin or even a chain hotel like Marriott. Never again- Horrible service!

They need more help at the Concierge because it takes a long time to get somebody to help you at the front desk whenever we checked in was really rude and they put us on the 14th floor but the guy next to us wanted that floor and so they put us on the 12th floor instead
our room is really disgusting I will post photos of this lets me, other than that it s fine I just think it s important for people to see what the room is going to look like

Hotel located in an exceptional location right in the center within walking distance of times square. The first day they gave us a room on the fifth floor old and cold (slept with 15 degrees) after several complaints the next day they moved us to the seventeenth floor in a dignified and above all warm room! Very comfortable bed and cleaning done every day. Hotel without big claims but good price given the location.

Definitely dated structure. The cleanliness of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired, dirty curtains, dirty carpet, stained and even torn sheets, bathroom not perfectly cleaned. We asked for a room change because the first one was indecent. The second one was a little bit cleaner, but still various stains and bad carpet. Small and noisy double bed. The mattresses should be changed as well as the nets (squeaky springs) too bad because the location is great for getting around Manhattan.

You would think a hotel right in the heart of Times Square hotel would be in atleast average condition. I m sorry to say this but this was beyond gross. The first room we got was dark, dirty has holes in the carpet and not to mention HAIR in the tub along with brown spots and hair in the sink! I immediately went down to complain and show the pictures I took. The concierge was nice enough to give us a new room on the top floor and I was excited only to walk through the door and find the same condition room except the tiles in the bathroom were broken and the sink was leaking. I just decided to stay in that room because atleast there was no hair in the sink. Both my sister and I were so grossed out we had to shower with sandals and sleep with socks. Couldn t wait to leave. Looks are deceiving and from the pictures and outside the hotel looks great. Don t recommend.

I was looking for an inexpensive and closer to the center of Manhattan a 3-star hotel, similar to Watson Times Square (excellent hotel - I advise everyone, but a little more expensive). Found this hotel, according to some reviews the hotel fit our requirements. Guys, I honestly do not advise you. We do not even take into account that we arrived at 7 am, but stopped in the room at 4 pm, while sleeping on the sofas at the reception. We were told that the rooms will be given only by 16.00 and they do not have an early check-in, since all guests check out after 12 and they need to have time to clean the rooms. Well, I agree, if I had not seen how dozens of people left in the morning, and we were with a baby for 2 years, well, it really was impossible to make an exception for such families. Okay, not at 7 am, well, at least at 12, but not at 9 hours of waiting. After all, the child needs to be washed, washed and fed. Well ok - it's all the little things. Hotel description: outside - more or less suitable for 3 stars, inside the lobby is also clean and well-groomed, the staff seem to smile and work. After leaving the elevator, tin begins, an old and shriveled carpet, of a dark, terrible color, with an accompanying musty smell in the corridor, accompanies you to your room. When you go into your room you start ah .. to sleep and ask yourself the question, why the fuck did I pay $ 240 for a couple of nights (the hotel also presented me with a bonus before departure, a bill for additional services of $ 80, this is like a federal state tax from a non-resident, and I have a question , why not immediately include it in the price, and not make it a surprise at the end: in short, it is very mean) and for what this money. The room is really a barn. We visited 4 states, 8 cities and 6 hotels, 3-4 stars, but this one was the worst, even in Page, Arizona, the 2 star hotel for $ 45 was on a level higher than this hotel. Disliked: dirty bathroom and carpet in the room. The absence of a refrigerator - and this is in America, in New York !!! How is that???
Soundproofing is finally a song: all the neighbors on the floor could be heard as if they were in your room, from above, from below, from the side and from behind. Thanks to the doors installed in all rooms (absolutely in all), you will hear the knocks from closing the doors around the clock and you will know who and when to whom came, that is, a lightly sleeping person HER will sleep, believe me. The furniture is as old as the renovation itself. Cleanliness in the room for 2 out of 5. In many places, dust and dirt.
What we liked: the location was winning, which is why we got caught.
TEXT: take a little more expensive and further away, as there are no problems with transport, getting to any point is absolutely easy, Google Maps rules. Well, for the worst I can recommend Watson Times Square Hotel.

I have to start by saying that the location is great! Lots to do and see within walking distance and if u wanna go a bit further, u got the blue line (E) metro station a block away to move around NYC main attractions easily... Linda from the reception is fantastic and most of the staff are quite friendly. Now lets go to the hotel rooms.. they are very old.. not really good quality rooms... some dirty, old carpets, old everything... I mean, if you are looking for a budget place with great location and just to sleep and shower.. I would recommend it. If you consider yourself a very demanding person..well, then I would suggest to find somewhere else
The only decent thing about this hotel is the loca...
The only decent thing about this hotel is the location of it. It is a round 10-15 minute walk to the Times Square billboard. The room is quite outdated. You get asked for your credit/debit card at the front desk when you check in for a $100.00 deposit which they neglect to tell you about when you are checking in. They then deduct the amount of tax they need to take for each night you stay at the hotel as part of the states fees. This is fair enough but maybe your front desk operatives should be more engaging and give this information across to the people staying at the hotel.
The reason for the one star is due to the fact that I have sent t date, 3 emails to your Front Desk asking the reason why my hotel room had been left open by your staff whilst my girlfriend and myself had left the building for a period of time to explore the city. At no point was assistance given by the front desk or your so called security team after being told twice that someone will knock on the hotel room in order to create a report. Yet, you have the time for someone to slip a bill understand the door at a ridiculous hour during the evening. I have emailed 3 times and yet no response (expecting a cookie cutter response just like the vast majority of the google review responses you see on poorly but agreeable responses left by other customers who had visited this "customer striven" hotel). Both the front desk and the security were unhelpful in this situation. Front desk operative by the name of 'Paolo' had stated that it wasnt his problem and cant do anything about it. Sorry, you work at the hotel. It's definitely a problem that you should be concerned about. 'Ricardo' from the security team was as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. To this date I've no response to my email and I assume no report has been created regarding the incident or any idea if the issue had been looked into.
The only staff that are cheerful and have an energy for the city and their work are the doormen who will happily tell you of places to go when you are going around the city and the best ways to get about.

The location is great, nice people that work there, but this hotel was under renovations the time we stayed and the room we stayed in was old and smelly! Kinda like a motel! Our check in was at 4h30pm and due to some traffic delays we only got there around 5pm coming from Canada and our room still wasn't ready! Waited another 1h30mins once we arrived at the hotel for this cheap motel look alike room in a hotel and was in our rooms around 6h30om! Not impressed by that and didn't get any discount or accommodations for the time loss for our room! At least our trip to New York was fun even though it rained lol!

Stayed here for The new year, excellent location and the view is just fine. The staff is very nice. The room looked old, and I m really ok with that. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable is the restroom, the tub had some black scratching stains the first day I got there, the 2nd day most of it was gone, meaning it was dirty when I got there and it can be cleaned but it wasn t, also there was a redish stain in the corner of the restroom and it smelled a bit funky.

The lobby looks decent on the surface (which misleads you into thinking the rooms can't be too bad) but when you take a closer look you can see how dirty it actually is. The rooms are tiny. The bathrooms are tiny. There is so much dust it's ridiculous, the carpets are stained and coming up, paint is peeling, wallpaper is peeling, there is mildew in the bathroom, the tiles were broken, the tub had a slip resistant mat thrown in and someone attempted to seal it to the tub (most likely to cover up all the rust in the bottom of the tub), outlets were loose in the walls, the box spring covers were stained, and the windows were filthy. Housekeeping tried entering our room twice (once around 8am, and the second time around 10am) despite the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door and the best part was they didn't even knock the second time, they just unlocked the door and attempted to enter but were unable to because of the swing bar door guard. Walls are paper thin as well, thankfully we didn't have noisy neighbors but housekeeping wasn't all that considerate with their noisiness. I will never stay at this hotel again, especially since there are so many other options available.

Staff brisk, we lost 100 dollars in building and asked if it had been handed in, they didn't help at all.
Bedding and towels clean but bathroom was grubby dirt in corners and around fittings!
Carpets lifting in centre down corridor we were in. Wallpaper ect 30 years old by looks.
Central to all areas of interest in city and we only went back to sleep.

Disgusting, the hotel was probably last updated in 1975, filthy carpet, mold in the bathroom and wall papers like my grandma house. The AC unit is so old that makes banging noises, everything screams "run away"!!! $900 for 4 nights is a rip off, This "hotel" is more a cheap 1 start motel!

Avoid this hotel. The only good thing is its location and up to date lobby area. Once you enter your floor level it's like stepping back 4 decades. The rooms are in poor condition, there are hardly and power points or USB points, the shower is luke warm at best, the bed is the worst ive ever slept on and i swear the bed sheets are made from plastic. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Extremely convenient location. We walked to our show at the gershwin theater and stayed near the hotel for drinks afterward. Pleasant and friendly staff. Room was clean, and lobby was beautiful. Hallways were a bit run down but our room perfectly suited our needs.

The Manhattan at Times Square has a great location and friendly staff however the rooms are horribly outdated and look nothing like those featured on the hotel website. At check in we also found the floor to be littered with food crumbs, rose petals, and balloons. We complained and were assured that the room would receive a full service which never happened.

I stayed there for a couple of days great location to visit times square as you can walk several blocks to Time Square room was a bit noisey with the acon .tiles were cracked in bath room, receptionists helpful except one i think she works the later shift .The card they give you could of had the address of the hotel on it in case you got lost roundring a round new York enabling for you to get direction accurately. Renovation started on the day i was leaving so it did not bother me.Over all i would stay there again. But as others have said i could understand how they feel a bout the wifi you should not have to go down stairs to use your comp or the hotel computer.Bed sheets got changed every day yeah furniture outdated .But considering you have clean sheets and your room tidy every day .What more can you ask for their to many places to visit to stay in side i even ventured on a walk about by my self. One thing i did not like the people who serve in the shop next to it they make you feel uncomfortable and only friendly when you buy something from their shop

The rooms are old, they smell a lot of fragrance, the lamps do not work well, they make you an obligatory charge of $ 32 dollars per day for "services", the walls are very thin and you hear all the scandal of the other rooms. The only good thing about the hotel is that its staff is friendly and has an unbeatable location. You do not rest well, but at least the best of the city is a few steps away.

This is a great place to stay in NYC for the money. The room was comfortable and the pillows were amazing. The bathroom was clean. I really enjoyed staying so close to Times Square and saved a lot of money because I could walk everywhere. The Met, the park, the shows, the food. It is all right there.

Do NOT stay here. This place hit me with a $50 authorization charge in case anything happens with the room when I arrived. They never told me at the time of booking, was not stated in any of their policies. They stood there and did not listen to me, argued with me till they were out of breath, and eventually I ended up getting kicked out and my reservation canceled. I am furious.

My only complaint was that my room was way too warm. I tried to get out of my reservation but the manager wouldn't let me. I new it was nonrefundable when I booked it but did not know that the whole hotel had been switched to heat only. They did open my window and bring me a fan at my request. Was not a happy camper at first but I guess it was okay after making the changes. Not sure I would stay there again though!

The staff was very helpful and friendly but our room wasn't exactly worth what we paid for it. The water took a very long time to heat up in the bathroom. The vent was also covered in dust, which was pretty gross. There was no mini fridge in our room either which was a downside for us. The only good point to this hotel was that it was very close to everything we wanted to see during our visit.

Rooms are dirty. Employees take no pride in their position, the facility, or their customers. Discussed my concerns of dirty room with manager Starema who switched our room twice, first to room with feces and hair on toilet then to room with used dirty water bottles behind the night stand. Asked them to come remove the trash from behind the nightstand at 3:30p. Its still here at 9:15pm. I won't stay here again and I recommend looking for a room elsewhere. There's a Sheraton right across the street.
Update-
They did make some service recovery efforts today (3/28) and apologized which I really appreciate. Dirty water bottle remains with us.

The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel 790 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019, United States
We stayed in this hotel with a great central location, several subway lines reachable in a few minutes.
The room is dated but clean, the bathroom is completely closed without a vacuum cleaner, as shown in the photos.
On the booking site (also on BOOKING) it says "assistance in your language" but no one spoke Italian.
The site reported free wifi, but then they made us pay for it along with taxes
and to compulsory services, gym, national and international calls even if you don't use them.
The reservation was with breakfast included and we had to prove it with our voucher because they asked us to pay.
Receptionists seemed annoyed by our not knowing the language and with an unwelcoming attitude.
Nice and helpful instead Dolores and Will, the breakfast attendants, with Dolores who greeted us in Italian.
I recommend it for the location and the price not for their friendliness.
Don't trust the stars but from the reviews of those who have been there.

We stayed at The Manhattan on the weekend of Nov. 20-21, 2015 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our first weekend away with our three grown daughters in a very long time. The first room they gave us was filthy. The second was occupied and, finally, the third a "really nice show room". was as small if not smaller than the first two and offered nothing special. We went to check out and tried to use our breakfast vouchers and were told they weren't part of the room package we purchased. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone especially not to anyone visiting for a special occasion.
