Hotel with excellent location, clean and very friendly and attentive staff, especially Mr. Mohammad, who attended us during check-in and check-out with great promptness and attention. The hotel offers a water cooler on each floor and a soda machine.
This was the second time that we stayed at this hotel and we were very well attended. We love it.

Considering the price compared to other nearby locations I was really not impressed. No minifridge. Small, kinda dirty, lobby, slow service and slow elevators.

I loved. Nice rooms well equipped. An impeccable staff. A real luxury hotel. Thank you for everything .. really.

Perfect location for time square and central Park , room was good just a bit tired.

All said had a great night sleep on a very comfortable bed.

It's busy In the lobby, luggage storage is very convenient

Stayed October 2015, traveled on business

Hotel is rather old, I visited in August and my floor was undergoing renovation. The hotel charged$290CAD per night plus a$50 facilities fee. You can't opt out of the facilities fee.

The pros, only 5 mins walk to Central Park. Convenient location and it's relatively cheaper than the nearby hotel. The staff are super friendly, I was greeted by Al land he was very friendly.

Too bad I do not recommend it! My room was invaded by a person at 1.40 am entering the same magnetic password number, absurd. We complained to the management and the employee said that this could happen because the person had the same surname as my friend, another Absurd! Not cleaned the room and very old, on the magnetic card has a picture of a modern room, misleading advertising! The only plus is the location. Nothing else !!

Good location for basic and reasonably priced stay

Bedbugs!!! I stayed in room 911. Had to throw out hundreds in clothing, even after capturing a bug and showing the manager still was only offered to change rooms and contaminant another room. I asked for a DCA number and a gm. I was refused of both and was so disgusted i just wanted a refund as i hadnt even slept yet. I paid 400 and tossed out all my new clothes to share a room with BEDBUGS

First let me say the staff were all very pleasant & the location is excellent but... The place is a bit run down, the lamps in the room didn't work, the A/C didn't work properly, the bathroom needs a complete gut job & the bed was uncomfortable. Then there's this so called "resort fee" an additional $40 per night - for a workout room I never saw, a business center that consisted of two PC's (one worked) that were tucked in a hallway (you have to stand to use them) and free phone calls... Lol (everyone has a cellphone these days) so overall completely unimpressed with this hotel.

The location so close to times square is by far the best thing about this place. The staff is excellent at customer service. But it shows exactly how old the building really is by the quality of the room we stayed in. It may have just been our floor (10th) but I felt loke we were staying at a motel 6.

The location was very nice, very close to the times square and central park. The airport can be reached in 50-60 minutes by 1 transfer. The rooms were very clean.

Rooms are very clairaudient, doors very difficult but not tight. The room was dirty and badly in need of renovation. Had a whole school class on our floor, which also meant noise until late in the evening. It smelled like marijuana and the staff was very arrogant. Fire alarm beeped every 45 seconds. After 6 times at the reception this was still not fixed. An impudence.
The only good thing is free water coffee and drinks machine on the floor.
Praise to the maids who were at least always very friendly.
Gym and location just fine.
Conclusion: price performance is not right at all.
The hotel is rotten like the plants / cacti in the lobby.
I will not come again!

The place looks new on the lobby but sadly it needs renovation as it is very old. I was a bit disappointed when I saw our room and they lack amenities and then again they charge you $51 for using the facility like what facility?? The pressure in the shower I find it weak and take me time to wash my hair. No toilet brush so I have to ring them just to clean the toilet which is annoying on my first day. Location wise it's 5 star. EDIT IN ADDITION: Upon check out this morning one of the staff member told us that we paid for breakfast on the duration of our 3 nights stay. I told her that I asked the staff named Senka if breakfast is included but she answered NO straightaway even without checking our booking. I find this really annoying bec we are misinformed and could've saved time going our for breakky. The lovely lady who assisted us on our checkout gave us the breakfast voucher worth of 3 nights missed and advised us that we can take it with us.

Good location and although the hotel is normalillo it is highly recommended

I would rather sleep in a sewer. I would give it negative six million stars if I could. The ONLY ENJOYABLE part was the friendly staff at breakfast. Front desk was awful and the manager was so rude and I gave her every opportunity to make it right but she has an attitude. Let me also mention that I wasn t looking for a free stay but something comparable for the disgusting room.

This hotel was priced for its great location and for its quality. Not cheap in fact expensive for what you get. We were there for seven nights and enjoyed New York and its iconic building, so close to Times Square and of course the Broadway Threatre district.The Hotel has an extremely busy lobby area with check in and in that area is where you can get your complimentory continental breakfast all a bit cramped. We were disapointed with the room it was very tired and unacceptably scruffy. So as exhausted as we were we got a room change, it was an improvement but not brilliant and waited for the luggage to be shifted, all takes time of course and adding to the fatigue of traveling from the UK. Staff were nice and helpful though, but needs a refurb.

I love New York but near Christmas it's to crowded for me.

Good location. Busy elevator and kind of old decoration. The floor mat seems old and we did not get new soap and shampoo for the second night. Overall an experience a little lower than my expectation.

Room was VERY dirty. Toys all over the balcony. The bathtub was disgusting. The toilet paper roll was half used meaning it was from a previous guest. House keeping knocked on door too early in the morning and just let themselves in. Only reason i picked the hotel was because the rate was good and needed somewhere to stay for one night near times square. Doesn't offer late checkout. Pretty much harassed us out of the room. The lobby is SO deceiving, it looks so nice and the rooms are the complete opposite.

The situation is really excellent; the service as well only the equipment of the rooms is apparently from the 50s.

Absolutely perfect location! What makes it even better is that you are able to shower in not only water that takes minutes to heat up, but also the plaster from the ceiling! Highly recommend for the one and only, Anthony Melchiorri from Hotel Impossible. But wait! Don't forget the acclaimed FREE breakfast that you have to pay for. And the reservation you're thinking of putting down? Forget about it! The hotel runs on first come, first serve no matter your reservation. It's honestly so convenient! I love it because for some hilarious reason, our reservation for August 18th was mistakingly put in as November 11th so there we were on the other side of the country with supposedly no reservation for that night. But the location is cool :)

Good location but pesimo breakfast. Comfortable and spacious rooms

Keys didn t work at first so I had to go back down to get new keys. When I finally got into the room there was a hole in the wall and wall paper was peeling. On top of this there were lines for the elevators that would take 10 min. Overall poor experience at a hotel with a good location.

The location is quite good. The rooms could be improved but are OK for a short stay.
There are hidden charges that are only shown on the final bill. So make sure you add at least $40 to the stated daily cost. Most likely you will find a better hotel.

The hotel had a great customer service team which were friendly and quick natured. The location was wonderful! Two blocks from times square you cant beat that. The room was clean and nice.

It is a nice hotel that is very convenient because it's located right in Times Square. The staff are really friendly and it's cost benefit. My room was very clean, but they don't have free wi-fi. The rooms are not so bad either. They're not too small, but they're not big either.

Old dirty shower curtains are dirty black from the 2nd day I asked if they can be changed and they still did not change it. The table that is there almost falls apart the dirty mirrors.

Beautiful lobby and friendly staff. The carpets in the hallways are dirty and the rooms need a good cleaning and a reno. The room is a decent size but the bathroom was tiny. The photos were not of the same hotel obviously. Very disappointed.

The Manhattan at Times Square was the filthiest, the most disgusting and the most dishonest hotel I have ever stayed. 1/5 star is a very lenient critic. We had booked one room with two beds for five nights but we checked out the first day. The room was at least 20+ years old and very filthy. The size of beds was too small and the mattress extremely uncomfortable. There are few rooms which are renovated but the majority of rooms are in awful condition . The photos in their site include only the renovated rooms and are photoshopped. The lobby and the halls looked like a cheap motel in the middle of nowhere. Finally, I felt quite unsafe and the price of the room, taking into consideration its condition, was extremely high .

Very central and crowded hotel where I did not particularly appreciate the furnishing of the rooms, the state of the bathrooms and the wear and tear of the bed ... for the rest all in all recommended even if from the top floor it does not offer a particular view of the skyline of the big apple, in fact it is surrounded by much higher structures! Very good location as a base for visiting all of Manhattan.

If you stay here, make sure its on the 18th floor because that's the only one that's been remodeled. The other rooms are visibly old, dirty, and damaged.

The people there were very rude and didn't like being asked questions. The room was very dirty with the wallpaper ripping off and dead bugs hanging off the ceiling. The bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned and overall it felt very unsanitary. Furthermore, they do not give you a refrigerator. The pictures are not similar to the actual room. The price they charge for this hotel is not worth it.

I recently stayed at the Manhattan hotel this week. The location is just perfect, because its so close to Times Square. Aside from the location, I noticed the staff were rude. The house cleaning staff did a poor job cleaning the rooms and I noticed items were missing from while i stayed. Not sure who had access to my room but my stay made a turn for the worse once items went missing. I would never stay at this hotel ever again. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. And if you do decide to stay..lock your personal belongings in the safe, that's if it's working.

the Manhattan at times square hotel one of the best hotels in new York city I like that hotel the room's very comfortable, clean, quiet, nice stuff.

The hotel is very well located, the rooms are good with great size. The view is very good, and the various services they have. Easy access to good internet and breakfast provides Starbucks service in the lobby or has several options nearby. Good cost-benefit

Problems with raw sewage bubbling up in the toilet in my Executive Class room. Continually asked for help. Nothing done. No follow up from any department. Completely ignored and this has been happening right through my 6 night stay. Appalling service!

Bad ... very dirty the hotel room itself, they do not take care of you well and then they charge you taxes that are not worth it ... the room is very basic broken lamps, dirty windows and it is very expensive ... I do not recommend it for nothing is sure there are other places more ecinomicos and with a better service ...

The staff were attentive and the room was clean and comfortable. It was a great stay and I will absolutely be a return guest if I ever need to stay in NYC again.

Do not stay here! The rooms are NASTY! The beds are broken. The phones don t work. Housekeeping never shows up. The employees are rude.

The cleaning service in the room excellent, as well as the buttons, the location the best, however, all that charm is just to have contact with the staff at the reception of the hotel, the truth that all hotels visited I have never found a team so focused on not helping and making the guest feel uncomfortable and ill-attended. Top management should think about better training its staff in public service.

The structure is a wreck on the inside. Wallpaper peeling, ripped carpeting, stains are pretty common place. The furniture all has that look of dispair. I csn only assume that the lobby was designed to replicate the feeling of a Hells Kitchen railroad flat. The staff seemed to be very friendly and helpful. Thats a plus.

Nice staff rooms are clean bathrooms could be a little bigger but I guess it gets the job done beds are comfortable and the view was beautiful

First off they don t deserve this one star. And no, I m not exaggerating with my experience at this hotel.
- WiFi sucks
- Bath tub is yellow with missing grout around the edges.
- Shower curtain looks yellow/old/smells
- Restroom had musty smell the whole time. Mirrors were also dirty upon arrival.
- Leaking sink and backs up
- The rooms are hot. There is no a/c here. When addressing problem the man in the front assured us the engineer would go up and fix the problem. When the engineer arrived, all he did was open the window which one opens up like an inch. When addressing problem again, they sent up a FAN... lol. I also like to add that I called from my cell phone about this problem and when I called again, I felt like they ignored my call on purpose.
- Everything in the room was dusty. The lamps, mirrors, phone, alarm clock.
- Drawers were broken and we re all stained on the inside
- Carpet and walls looks nasty
- Very few outlets to charge/connect anything.
- Tv antenna didn t even screw into the wall connection. The furniture it against it keeping it from falling out. We found out because at one point there wasn t tv signal so I moved the wire a bit and it just came off the wall.
- My room was being cleaned when I asked the keeper to please change my bed sheets. We had spilled something the night before so I wanted clean sheets. I was told that sheets are changed every other day but she ll go ahaed and change them. The WHOLE time the lady was complaining in Spanish about how the sheets are clean and what not.i guess she wasn t aware that I understood her.. I should had never asked because she was complaining and aggressively changing them. I did not say anything to her because with this hotel experience I didn t want anything to go missing when we were out.

The pictures on the website are fake. I f you re going to stay here, check the room out before booking. I hardly write reviews but this was necessary.

Needs updating badly! For $430/night (and that's what it costs at minimum after taxes, parking in garage, mandatory payment WiFi) this hotel could do better. And it was hot in the room at night, thermostat defaults at 70 degrees. They need to renovate the rooms. The Exterior of the building and lobby looks good but the guest rooms look old and dingy, the guest room corridors and carpets needs replacing because its old and an ugly brown, all of the walls and even the room entry doors need painting. Charging a arm and a leg!! Choosing the Marriott Marquis the next time. Might have to spend a little bit more but can never go wrong with Marriott.

Might as well have booked a hostel. Rotten apple on carpet upon entry. Stained and ripped sheets. Scurry of small bugs when lifted pillow. Keys never worked. Unsanitary is the best thing I can say at 1500 bucks for 5 nights. Customer service was far worse than the room. Senka and coworkers made us feel as unwelcomed as one could possibly feel. Will never return, to the benefit of our health and safety.

Lifts are crazy and Rooms are tiny. It's right there at Manhattan Square but boys, you gotta pay a price. Make sure you negotiate well with your travel agent. You might be charged few 100 dollars at counter.

I was lodged in this hotel and I loved everything ... I felt very comfortable and also everything I wanted to see is very close and walk until very late, very nice and safe area! I will love to repeat!

There was mold in the tub..not clean, wallpaper bubbled and pedaling, dirty stained walls, beds were not queen size. The beds were full size. We had four people to sleep in small beds. Staff was rude at check in. Great location. Misleading reviews. Everyone we spoke to staying in the hotel,8 couples, were very disappointed in this hotel. Never again

I cant stop myself from writing a review. I paid more than $300 for the room and its so pathetic! The bed is not even a proper mattress, bathroom tub is yellow, tiles are dirty. The room has dust. Omg !! Please dnt waste your money here!
And surprise there is $40 resort fee. It is not even like a local hotel !

The room was very clean and comfortable! We put our luggage on the rack and I placed my brand new very large umbrella on there to check in. I finished and a porter brought the rack up for us. Somehow my umbrella disappeared, which really made me mad. When I asked him about it he just shrugged. Grrrr!

Avoid this place. Filthy and disgusting looking, but if you can stomach the decor that hasn't been updated since 1936, here's what's up. The "Do Not Disturb" sign doesn't register with their maids. They walked in while we were out and about when we clearly had the sign on the door. Oh, let's not forget the vending machines on each floor that eat your dollars like a bear prepping for hibernation. They don't accept coins and you hear your change drop... Except you don't receive your change. It goes into some other dimension where your quarters mingle with every one else's lost quarters over the years. Oh, how about that they don't even tell you about $20 dollar hidden room fees and let the bill run up without telling you. They disguised as "facility fees" (with tax) and won't even tell you what you're being charged for. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in New York over the years, none quite as bad as this. New York is expensive, but you can get a better hotel in the area for much less. Book somewhere else, this place blows.

Bad hotel !!!! Bad and dirty room, Lerici bathroom still with hair in the tub and on the sink! At 8 pm when we arrived at the hotel the room was not ready, in reception there were about twenty people waiting for the room and as many complaining about the discomfort and disgust of the rooms. Never seen such a thing! In conclusion, nobody cleaned the room, we had to sleep in that room even after heavy complaints.
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL !!

We like the hotel, it is in a great location and the staff are really friendly. The hotel hasn't been redecorated for a long time so its very old fashioned looking. We also asked to move room as our first room a bit untidy. Our new room is lovely.
