As you can see from the pictures, this place is a one star hotel. Sadly I can t show other possible patrons the quality of the rocking bed or the flickering television. The part that really sucks is that I made 2 attempts to get help. I would have gladly switched rooms, but no one bothered to address the issues. On top of that, the hotel had the audacity to charge me a $40 resort fee- which after 3rd compliant, in the morning, it was refunded.

Awful. Its dirty. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. You cant even turn around in the bathroom to change your mind. They are old. The hairdryer was made for a barbie. None of the room lights worked. Rooms are dingy and terrible. Beds are old and so flimsy. This hotel is not as advertised online. The pics make it look modern, clean and a great place to stay. The staff was rude, checkin was long, the stay was such a disappointment. Money down the drain. Do not waste your money there. Go somewhere... anywhere else. A stay under a bridge would have been just as accommodating. Please... do not stay here. I know I got taken for my money, hope you wont have the same issue.
Always a smiling face for his tenants, friendly cafeteria staff and his kind and friendly bellboys, I still have days here and I doubt that I change my opinion.
Great location for getting around Manhattan. Miss informed about deposit still waiting for it back. Broken Aircon broken door lock couldn't open windows had to get a fan which was no use. Broken toilet seat chamber maid only cleaned room once then knocked on and asked if I took towels off her trolley carpets stained down corridor carpet not fitted all bumpy. If your looking for a place to stay just to sleep and shower then fine but if your looking for a nice looking hotel then this is not the place to stay.
Great location but the rooms are nothing special. And you can hear people in other rooms. But if you are visiting NYC there is enough to keep you busy so the hotel doesn't matter much.
Not what I expected for Times square I thought there would be more amenities like Continental breakfast. Rooms clean but outside was unkempt. It was ok but good location
I just arrived it s noisey an old .beds are really old an sinking I m extremely disappointed. The hall ways an carpet are old an dirty I wouldn t come back .you would think for its location it would have higher standards.
Don't waste your time or money here. The staff is unfriendly. It took 30 minutes to check in & once I finally receiving room key and thanked the man at the front desk he replied with "Buhh-bye" no "enjoy you're stay", no "have a great day" not even a "your welcome". I was unimpressed by the rooms; definitely 15 years out of date but no big deal. My biggest issues were the fact that: 1. There was broken glass and pubic hair on the bathroom floor, 2.rust everywhere, 3.the safe had no door, 4. the heat didn't work & we were freezing at night, & finally 5.we found 2 cockroaches in the room during our 2 day stay. It's unfortunate great location and definite potential to be a great hotel but they fall extremely short. 1-2 star hotel. Again don't waste your $ there are plenty of other places in manhattan to stay.
Clean, neat, modern. Obviously recycled. They treated us very well and responded to our orders efficiently. Warm and peaceful atmosphere. Good wifi There is a bar where you could have breakfast, but very frugal. That More
It was a nice hotel but we had a hard time getting things like wi fi , toilet paper , kleenex & washcloths in our room . The rooms weren't as clean as most hotels we've stayed in . There was no resturant in hotel or continental breakfast but did have coffee & pastries but had to pay for them . I don't think we will stay there again !
It's true that some parts of the hotel did seem outdated and the carpet was old, but I am still giving five stars because the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is great!!
Was so excited to get to NY after 20+ hours of travelling, on our honeymoon, we get to hotel and its in a great location but thats the only good thing about it. We were told our room was upgraded as we were on our honeymoon and when we got to our room i was in shock at how discusting and dirty it was, the dust was sitting thick on th counter top, curtains, carpet, it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months, the window was filthy, 2 out of 3 lamps wernt working, Bathroom had hair on the floor and in the sink, the furniture was so outdated i felt i had went back in time, scrathes everywhere on the furniture an wires hanging out of plug sockets.
We took our luggage back downstairs, i refused to stay in hotel demanded a full refund and went across to the Sheraton which we are now staying in and it is absolute luxury compared to this hotel.
Staff are also useless went back to speak to manager and she had a i dont care additude
It definitly need a refresh, bed was clean, bathroom also, tv looks nice, the rest burn it. Carpets needs to be changed and would be nice to paint walls and get ride of the paper... Could be better for the price.
A block outside of time square! Can t beat the location but very very crowded. Building is noisy and only one working elevator! Room had a funky smell.....
Spend Your Money Elsewhere! A dump old carpet old paint wallpaper on the walls bathroom smelled of urine and on the small side no conviences such as plugs on lamps on the nightstand room looks old and very unattractive no small refrigerator in room
We just finished our stay, for all the previous comments, not a problem for them apparently, everything is in the same condition ... dirty bathroom, hair everywhere, broken chest, terrible carpet, wallpaper and paint, no better , it is shameful to design this hotel for a palace! the positive points will go to the breakfast staff, mohamed and his colleagues, to marie chantal the little haitian maid from the 14th floor, and the ideal location of this hotel.je will also give a very bad note for the welcome, the arrivals, on the part of linda, we had only a few words ... credit card, how many nights, not even hello!
If you want to experience the Sangcho 1 Hotel, Yeo 1 is the right place. If you stay here, you will be there until the moment your party leaves New York.
1. King of the end plate of in-class stars & ungodly works 1 Me, Bellbo 1, and all the staff at the end of the day are incurable. It would be nice to be firmly prepared if you can also see it in English. I will give you a face in front of you in front of you. Employees' salaries are redeemed for low-altitude tips1.
2. Yua1 Nonghoteel The inside of the bathtub is the same as the one of the bees! What a warm heart that cherishes nature? Probably using non-organic detergents like poisons while cleaning.
The most common ones think of the hotel is the exterior. The windows are more lovely than the 30-year-old reconstruction part.
3.Transportation 2 1 I admit that the location is good. But the locations of hotels in Manhattan Times Square are all good.
If you like and write, you can write one more thesis, but we will finish it at this point.
3 lines summary If you are in New York, 90% is a success if you buy this hotel alone.
People complain and how the place looks but if it got renovated that would only rocket up the price to stay there. No thanks its hard enough to find a cheap place for a night. Dont want that getting messed up by updates to the place. Perfect as is.
This hotel is in a great location! Staff are friendly and helpful, close to so much and the heart of times square just a couple of minutes walk down the road. The rooms are big and the TV is huge! The only thing was my bed was a bit lumpy but other than that thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The perfect location The regular room was not very clean, I even found a sock that was not ours, the rest of the hotel needs updating. The attention of the staff a bit fair, they are not very friendly
Very well located hotel, I consider that this helped me to better organize my time and get to know many places since there was everything around and it was very easy to return to the hotel on foot. My room was acceptable, clean, the internet did not work the first day but the days there was a good signal. The only bad thing to consider and improve are the rugs in both the rooms and the corridors. The carpet in the hallway looks dirty and old. Friendliness from the hotel employees. I would go back to the hotel ...
We initially were allocated an 'accessible' room due to limited availability on our late night arrival. The room was huge, but in desperate need of a refresh, with the bathroom being particularly worn. Even the light switches were filthy. We complained at the front desk as we'd booked the hotel based on the suggestion it was recently refurbished - but it turned out this was only the rooms on the top 2 or 3 floors (we visited in Jan 2015). Luckily one of these rooms was available and we were switched. This was like a different hotel, the room was clean, fresh and was a pleasure to be in. If you're booking try and get one of the upper floors to have a pleasant stay. My rating is based on the customer service we received for the quick room change and the refurbished room.
hotel is within walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and many other landmarks. We were on a renovated floor with newer beds and bathroom features. However, our television had no signal, lighting in the room was poor, we smelled cigarette smoke throughout our 4 night stay. When we reported this to the staff we were given a lame excuse as to the reason why, no action was taken to find those going against hotel policy. Overall, if you are looking for a place to lay your head after sight-seeing all day, this is the place. If you're looking for a place with room service and updated accommodations, this isn't the place for you.
Good location fair prices but I would only recommend the Executive floor that's on 18 recently renovated, nicely appointed and good amenities with access to the fitness center and Starbucks Grab & Go breakfast
I give it 3 stars because the staff was friendly and accomodating and the place was as clean as it could be for how old and dingy the place is. Weird stains on the carpet, black marks all over the walls, yellowing paint, rust wherever there's metal (sink, tub). The bed was clean and comfortable enough, but the walls were so thin we could hear coughing in the next room, not to mention the loud ass families with kids going by early in the morning. Stay here if you don't mind the negatives and you get a good deal.
If I were paying top dollar for this hotel, I would downgrade my review. However, I had an amazing rate in December the week before Christmas and was quite happy. The bed was excellent, the room was spacious (for NYC), and the bathroom very clean. The carpet and furniture were from the last century, the hallways were a dump, and the hotel wireless unusable (I had to upgrade to use a wired connection). So what mattered most in the room--the bed and the bath--were great and I could compromise on the rest. Yes, as many have noted, it was quite warm, so opened the window. Big Deal. I like open windows and I was high enough up that the noise was no trouble. When you factor in the unbelievable location, though, this was simply the bargain of the century and I will always check here first. Business travellers will probably want to stay somewhere nicer, but if you are footing the bill, this is a great place to use as your NYC basecamp. Low prices and a great location make it easy to overlook the negatives. One more thing for tourists: Times Square is several blocks away--which is a good thing. It's quieter, less neon, fewer tourists, and a sane place to be. And you are closer to other sights: Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, and Central Park.
The best reason to select this hotel is its location and its price. It's close to many landmarks and with a subway station nearby. The only issue is the wait time for the elevators when the hotel gets busy. Please note that there is a $40 nightly fee on top of the price when considering this place.
Amazing hotel fantastically located next to everything in New York. The rooms are not very modern but they are very suitable for resting. Incredible views to the street, and with lots of floors. In addition, the hotel has a gym where you can get in shape when you do not visit anything. Very good place to stay. Great hotel in general.
New York City I will miss you going back to North Carolina is a Place you can be who want to be nothing like North Carolina if I have money I will move to New York City Thankyou for making feel welcome
The views and location excellent, the bed well, attention and friendliness correct, the carpets should change them, the decoration should update and the bathrooms make them new.
The service was good but the price for the hotel was so not worth it. I was shocked the for almost 300 a night the rooms were so outdated, very old hotel and literally really nothing nice about the hotel. The only area in the hotel that was nice was downstairs. My room was dirty and old, the ac didn't work and had a smell of humidity. I am not happy that I paid so much and couldn't find anything around the area. The location is about the only thing that was perfect to where I had to be everyday.
Overall it was a good experience staying in this hotel. It is very close to Times Square(most happening place in NY). You can take a walk from Hotel to Times Square . The rooms are good but I was little disappointed with the bathroom. The bathroom was not upto the mark as per the hotel standard.. The grab and Go breakfats is a good option and the lady there was very sweet.. A smiling face at breakfast always makes your day and she was one of the reason.. Really appreciate Doleves at the Grab and go counter...
There is a good quality price relation. The location is perfect. Close to several subway lines and a few blocks from Times Square. Very friendly staff, good cleaning in the rooms and there is a water machine on each floor with the option of fresh water and ice maker which for the summer is a luxury. The only downside (maybe because of our culture) is that as tips are paid for everything you also have to pay for leaving your luggage in the luggage on the last day.
The rooms are filled with mildew. I've been to NYC many times now and the is by far the worst I've had to stay at. The room smelled like it looked too, like mold.
The staff is less than helpful. Starting with the front desk they are super rude. Housekeeping never removed trash from the room. I would never stay here again.
Good value. Freindly and helpful staff. Only reason for four stars and not five is that it's not five star hotel. The room we stayed in needed a little updating and there were a few very minor maintenance issues that wouldn't be found in a five star.
This is easily the filthiest most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. Priceline misled me by calling this a 4 star hotel. The only way this dump is 4 Stars is if you are using a 40 star rating system. The staff is surly at best. The carpets are awful. The free breakfast isn't free. Every person I met at the hotel was actively looking for a new hotel. Pic related: it's their 4 star bathtub.
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Most of the staff was rude and unhelpful (except the bellman). You certainly get what you pay for and we will not be staying here again. The rooms were filthy and unkept. Bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. We were not even given toilet paper and had to ask. The location was why we chose this hotel and we luckily spent little time in the room. The poor conditions ensured we would not return to this location. Front desk was rude. Yes they help our bags before our room was ready but the man who needed to retrieve them later said we better come with him because he was too busy to get them. I m sure this is not how other hotels speak to guests. Unfortunately this was not the only rude worker we encountered. We did not expect to be pampered but some kindness would have been Appropriate
The nightmare when I step in the room, I saw blood on the bed, hair on the pillow. So I ask the service stuff to give me the new room, and it still the same nothing change I still saw someone hair on my pillow and the bed cover with some yellow stuff.
The hotel has an unbeatable location! 2 blocks from Time Square. It is a normal hotel to stay for a few days.It only has a problem that for me is important, when you see it online it says it has a refrigerator and microwave, but after you bought it it clarifies that it is optional and cost 25 dollars each. You also charge 40 dollars a day of taxes and the truth is not very clear when buying.
Stayed on the 22nd floor. Did not pay for the room or I would have demanded a different room or s refund. It was a gift. Room was gross. Black mold surrounding the bathtub, wallpaper falling off of the walls, light switches dirty floors.
This hotel is in a great location: 3 min walk from Times Square and Broadway, 2 steps from the metro yellow line and red line. The rooms are spacious and clean, although the bathroom should be renovated.
