Just don t do open days if you don t know how to organize one. It was terrible.
Went there today, is highly recommended. You are guided through the world of particle acceleration, every question is answered in detail, and the animations are absolutely worth seeing. The additional exhibitions should not be missed. The 700 km back and forth paid off for us.
I have just visited the Great Particle Collider at CERN, near Geneva. Thanks to GOOGLE EARTH, I was able to visit this place so mysterious and totally exciting, containing the secrets of humanity. I have done the complete tour virtually, "walking" along the tube collider in which travel the particles of humanity, these particles at the origin of the universe, and our existence. My sincere encouragement to all scientists of multiple nationalities, who work every day to try to discover our most distant origins, and who have discovered the famous "Boson Higgs" which has remained mysterious for so long ...

Become a pilgrimage. Liberal art students, I don't know much about science, but it can be great to come here. I hope you can do some homework in advance when you come (the Chinese Academy of Sciences has a special introduction).
This was our first trip to CERN - we had to book a couple of weeks in advance to secure tickets. It was fascinating to see the type of research that goes on at CERN and a glimpse of the control room of the LHC. We didn't get time to see the exhibition near the main reception as we didn't know about it until we got there, but would have been nice to.
Very interesting and particular place. Do you like science and want to discover new things can come here. You can take tram 18 to the last stop and visit CERN. If you can not have much time to visit only the free areas that are very interesting.

It's a beautiful place where you can learn a lot about particles.
Takes forever to get get through the gate as visitor even with proper documents. Poorly implemented procedures for conference guests.
Praise be the Rauhe Haus, Praise is the Wilhelmstift, The LHC in Cern helps us all to leave the matrix and opens a new itaration for us in the space-time of this multiverse. The LHC is a world machine, BUT the HERA ring connected together with the LHC results in the god machine controlled by the Holy Wilhelm Foundation in Hamburg. (And Geneva never existed, it has always been Geneva!)
I'm completely satisfied with CERN. The service was friendly, the food still warm and the beer cold. Perfect ! 5 Stars

Beautiful the spherical structure of CERN, visited with a guda who accompanied us near the deneral control room, inside the sphere, and then across the road, in the actual museum. I would certainly have liked a greater explanation, and I am sure that with a video on YouTube, it was understood so much the same.
Fantastic. They just discovered a new kind of physics, the quartz split into particle rails. Finally, we found out how it all started!
We make a visit by prior reservation and free. The visit started promptly and lasted almost 2 hours. Several pavilions are visited, in no case the underground facilities. The visit is guided by a CERN scientist who explains what the research is done in this center, only in English or French. The visit is assisted with audiovisual projections, one of them in 3D with polarized glasses and headphones. The only limitations are in footwear and not smoking. They invite you to take as many photos as you want and to ask any questions. The visit is worth it. There is parking for visitors to the right of the access road from Geneva and the reception center is located on the other side of the road.

Hello! While visiting your impressive LHC Particle Accelerator Site at CERN, I was really impressed, so great is the project and its usefulness is more than vital and important for humanity. I do not believe that the costs of projects in this field and in the field of Astronomy must be an obstacle to reach the truth, knowing that these billions of euros or dollars have only a nominal value, because in celestial space it is nothing but paper which has no value. But what matters a lot is the sacrifice and the efforts in time, in physical energy and in scientific and research work that humanity has sacrificed for centuries, which deserve to be concretized for its happiness and not abandoned. for absurd reasons of political or financial decisions. In addition, I have sent my contribution in this field to CERN and I am preparing another reflection on the concept of time that I hope will bring other new ideas ... My brain exploded faster than the 2 particles collide before I entered this amazing lab :P! The world's largest and most expensive particle collider ever built!
I do not know if it is possible to make private visits, we went in a university group and recommend it. It was worth every moment of the tour. A place with many researchers, where science happens.
The visit was a bit of a disappointment. Obviously they teach you few things and only the first particle accelerator. It is worth more for what this place represents than for the visit itself. You must book guided tour, free, online and better do it with some time if we do not want to run out of space.
CERN is the world's largest particle physics laboratory. It is unique in the sense that people from all around the globe visit and work here. Thank you CERN for providing such a nice place.
I would give 5 stars, but they loose 2 because there's no vegan food and no sustainability program ( no electric car charge points, still plastic cups)

Great place to visit for anyone slightly interested in Science. Free tours if you book early online. Be aware you will not go underground to visit the actual collider.
Great place for people that care or are in touch with the subject that they are testing The facilities are huge and spread all over France and Switzerland
The tour guides were awful and the tour itself was boring, the museum is not interesting and many objects are broken or don't work well
Amazing feeling, being in a place known all over the world, a kind of mecca of science ... The Institute accepted our high school trip just when the main accelerator repair works were underway. Therefore, we could go downstairs (which is normally prohibited) and see the LHC machine with our own eyes. The enormity of the structure is unimaginable, you have to go there and see for yourself. You don't want to believe that people were able to construct such a monstrous and accurate machine. Billions of wires, pipes, cables, sensors, brackets ... Madness.

My physics teacher proved the existence of God using the Higgs boson and now I am a devoted religious man. I really liked the part of the Google maps tour where they showed us the parking lot outside CERN.
Have been desperately trying to register for visit - the web-registration works horribly: if you load a page in advance, it does not show the actual time slots, if you refresh it at peak time of registration, it does not show anything and keeps on loading. I realize the place is in high demand, but this is just so disappointing....
Wow- on google maps if you type in9 23 15 it takes you to Cern in Switzerland for no apparent reason. Conspiracy theorists &Theologians must be going nuts. I wonder if google maps did this as a prank?

Lying across French and Swiss border, 28km long tube is a wonder, though most of it is shut off from the public. Museum is a good place to make a visit. www also started there. The very original www coding computer is on display.
I have just visited CERN and in particular the ATLAS experiment. A place of openness, human intelligence, theoretical, practical and even philosophical skills! A great scientific and political success, provided that many others are inspired by it!
Visiting the CERN was, for me, like walking into a huge Catherdral like the Duomo di Milano, in that it is awesome yet mystifying. So much technology and soo many scientists that you can't really begin to comprehend what happens there. However on one of their open days you can start to get an insight into the individual research centres scattered across the campus...
Visiting CERN was the highlight of my Europe trip this year. Firstly, the tour was well organized and our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable. When it comes to nuclear research, the tour could become very academic or boring if you are not into physics or science. However, from how the microcosm was designed to the way that the guide explains things, the knowledge sounded very fun and easy to be absorbed. Secondly, they took us to see the synchrocyclotron. Wow. When I entered the room and the animation started showing and explaining the history and functions of the synchrocyclotron, I just felt mind blown. Lastly, it brought me so much emotions because the scientists here dedicated their whole life to research and explore from quark to universe. I felt extremely honored to visit this place.
