A must see and an item on my NYC bucket list. You definitely want to get tickets in advance through Liberty Cruises and check it the national Park website for details. The tickets to the pedestal and the crown are limited and do sell out. Get tight airport like security and you will go through it to board the boat and if you visit the pedestal or crown. There are elevators to the top of the pedestal which then had a 360 outside balcony with great views. There are no elevators to the crown and it is 165 steps!!
