Recently purchased an XC-90 from Smythe. Brian Was my salesman and he was amazing! The guys is one in a million. We came in 6th months before the end of our lease on a different make SUV, Brian spent the time with us as if we were buying that day. Brian answered every question we had via email, and when we showed up he let us test drive the various models until we settled on the perfect model for us.

Then we met the rest of the staff from the sales manager to the finance guy to the people who greeted us at the door it was nothing less than perfect.

They picked up our car from another dealer and when we showed up to get it everything went extremely smooth, Brian explained every function of the car until we understood it completely. His enthusiasm about the belles and whistles of the vehicle were great!

We had such a good experience we will be back this week to purchase another car with my mother!

Okay. We all know that taking the car to service is a huge groan.
The folks at Smythe Volvo are the exception to the rule.
My appointment was for first thing on a Monday morning (What was I thinking?), and I'd asked for a loaner. I figured the transition was going to take a while and advised my boss I'd be late to work.
To my pleasant surprise, the necessary paperwork was already prepared and organized; all I had to do was sign and hand over the key. The loaner car was fueled, ready, and waiting with the door open and the engine running; all I had to do was hop in and leave. The drop-off process could not have been smoother, more efficient, or pleasant. BTW, I was on time for work and my boss thinks I'm a genius. (Um, I flat out deny I took all the credit.)
Pick-up at end of day was just as quick, except there was time for a short Q&A about the car, a bit of small talk and some fun banter. My car is purring like a kitten. What more could I possibly want? Thanks Nick, Sean, and Smythe Volvo technicians! You guys rock!

Incredible customer service, especially from Robert Steinman. He is an incredible manager who took control of an issue that was not Smythe Volvo's responsibility and went above and beyond to resolve it. Highly recommend this dealership.

Matt Quelch at Smythe Volvo helped me get my new 2019 Volvo S60! He made the process completely seamless, even though I live 75 miles away! Love the car, loved the experience!

My care required major work and Tom in the service department made it as simple and effortless as possible. They provided me a loaner car and kept me up to date as to the progress. When I picked the car up it looked like they had waxed it and the inside was spotless.

I have never had this type of experience with a car dealer or with any other customer service department. I actually manage a call center for an insurance company and I hope my team is as tentative to our customers. They could not have made it simpler.

Brought my car in for servicing to Smythe Volvo and the experience was a pleasure. Doug followed up with an overview of the recommended work items and called a few hours later to say the work was completed. A smooth process run by trained and personable professionals.

Kristian walked us through the process, the car types, options, pros and cons for both the XC60 and 90. We ended up choosing the new XC 60 with the platinum trim and comfort package. When we came to pick up the car he walked my wife through all of the features including the blis, nav, radio, phone, voice activated controls and connected both of our phones to the bluetooth system. The car was in great condition, the dealership was clean and all of the dealers and service workers were friendly and professional. I would strongly recommend purchasing a vehicle from Smythe Volvo.

I was here not to long ago when my car could no longer be of service to me. Everyone was kind and courteous. Looking for a used car can be difficult when the dealers try to push for the newest or most expensive car rather than the one you want but this place didn't do that. I think the guy helping me was Brian, I definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a pre-owned car.

Smythe Volvo service department really came through for me!

My Story: My 2011 XC60 T6 started consuming a great amount of oil at 45,000 miles. Coincidentally the engine developed a rhythmic tapping sound at the same time. Started out with the Low Oil light coming on because I was down at least two quarts Brought car in to service dept. to confirm there was no leak in oil system. The vehicle was past the 5 year manufacturer warranty. My first service rep. seemed unsure and ambiguous as to how to go about correcting the problem. If you were to search engine (Volvo oil consumption 2010-2015) on the internet, you would see how serious the problem was for some owners. Something to do with pistol ring failure . After another visit to the dealership, I was afraid I was going to be stuck with a very expensive and complicated repair.

When I took the vehicle in again, I brought to the attention of service rep. Dina Thomson. She got on the problem immediately and concisely explained to me the steps needed for Volvo to remedy the problem. We did the (Change the oil level, new dipstick assembly, and software download procedure) Drove the car a few thousand miles to see the problem had lessened but was still an issue. When I brought it in again, it was Dina s day off so service rep. Micheal Watson took on the responsibility of my case of the oil consumption issue. Volvo USA requires the dealership to document a case before they will offer assistance under what is called a Good Will policy.

Service rep. Micheal Watson was great. He explained to me what needed to done before Volvo USA would authorize warranty work that would completely fix the oil consumption problem. After driving several thousand miles, Micheal was convinced that Volvo USA needed to step up and pay for the engine work required. He seemed very knowledgeable on all aspects of this situation and made me feel assured this was going have a happy ending for me and my car. Micheal truly fought for me and got the authorization from Volvo USA for the work needed. I was given a loner car while my vehicle spent several days at dealership having the engine work done. Full engine piston head assembly replacement with associated parts. (Please excuse my lack of specifics as I am not a mechanic) Micheal even drove it to his home and back to make sure everything was good to go.

I was thrilled to get a call from Micheal saying that my car was ready and that I was only responsible for paying the state sales tax. My 2011 XC60 T6 is running great now. That unpleasant engine tap noise is gone now and oil consumption problem seems to be over. It s only been a few thousand miles since this major repair but I feel confident problem has been solved. I was very impressed with service reps Micheal Watson, Dina Thomson and the others who got Volvo USA to do the right thing. I am also thankful for the technician who had the skill set to perform the open heart surgery on my engine. I have used Smythe Volvo s service dept. for years with success. This particular experience was truly a testament to their professionalism and their commitment to taking good care of their customers.

I bought a vehicle from Smythe Volvo in March of 2021 and could not have been more impressed with my visit. I drove over an hour to get to the dealership to see a car and hopefully drive home with it that day. I had made an appointment with Sam Shehata and could not ask more out of the service he provided for me. The car I was purchasing was used and i knew it was not a huge sale for the dealership, my experience in the past has been you get pushed to the side a bit and the salesmen do not want to bothered with it. This could not of been further from the experience I had with Sam and the entire team at Smythe Volvo. I was treated like I was buying a brand new 60 thousand dollar car, and the detail that went into preparing the vehicle was impressive. Sam even took the time have his team recheck and clean the car before I left, which did not need to be done since the car was clean when I got there, but the extra step was appreciated. He even filled the gas tank for me which was almost empty because he knew I had a longer drive home. Over all top class service, I will drive an hour of my day anytime to buy another car from this dealership. If your interested in buying a car from Smythe, call and ask for Sam, you will not be disappointed.

Visited this dealership together with my husband last Sat, looked at XC90 2020. Very impressed with Alon Katende. He is very knowledgeable and we loved the warm reception at Smythe. Will definitely come back.

What a great experience because of our sales guy Kyle Jackson. I was referred to Kyle by a co-worker and he really made all the difference. The normally tense and frustrating chore of car buying was a pleasant and fun experience with Klye, He listened, offered plausible options and we laughed throughout the process. It couldn't have been easier. There was a minor little service issue that he handled in no time without issue or argument. We love our car and will refer everyone we know to Kyle. I had a great experience with Smythe Volvo. I worked with Kyle Jackson and was impressed by his honesty, clarity, and friendliness throughout the process. It was very easy to work with him and I always felt that he had my best interest in mind and really believed that he was selling the best product at the best Volvo store. By then end of my experience I also felt that way. I have always been anxious/skeptical about the process of buying a new car and Kyle helped ease my fears.

Bought a used 2005 Pt Cruiser recently from Smythe Volvo. Even though the drive was further the 40 miles from NY to NJ. For me it was the 1st place that came up clean for sales on BBB or in reviews. I'd rather drive 40 miles for the right dealership then live with regret buying a car 5 miles away. The car is in fantastic shape and the Service department checked the car for me when I was there when I thought something was wrong. The entire experience was completely different from other places I had visited. Sales to service department and even fellow customers in the waiting area were friendly. Bob C. is the sales guy I worked with and was cool with me since it seemed at first a deal to good to be true, but he was patient and let me make up my mind without pressuring me. Very good attention and I bought my wife's car an S60 we are happy

I came in to lease a car but I was not sure whether I wanted XC60 or XC70, with or without a Turbo. Craig very patiently explained new features (this is my 2nd Volvo), talked about the differences between models, and let me test drive several models for as long as needed. All of this was without any pressure. He helped me to zero on the right model with the right set of features. Craig found the car I wanted at a different Volvo dealership and brought it over to Smythe. I came to pick it up a couple days later. Tom completed all paperwork, very patiently and thoroughly went over the main features, helped me setup Bluetooth, radio, and made sure I was comfortable in configuring my new Volvo XC70 T6 AWD myself. Tom did not rush and answered every single question I had. I cannot imagine a better buying experience.

The staff was courteous and expeditious, even though it was very busy. I was kept up-to-date and never felt rushed. Stacey had the car ready for me a couple hours after I met with him. Recommended!

There s a great group of dedicated people who work for Smythe and if in the future I m in the market for another Volvo I ll be sure to come to Smythe. I highly recommend this dealership I was very pleased!

I had an excellent experience with buying a Volvo at Smythe. I was looking for a late Certified Pre-Owned S60 with the hopes an S90 might fit in my budget. I drove a 2018 S90 home two days later. Alon was a great salesperson. He was very knowledgeable, patient, answered all my questions and demonstrated all the features in the car. All despite knowing right from the beginning I had no intentions of buying that day. Kevin, the Business Mgr, was equality competent, responsive and supportive during the tedious detailed paperwork. A great experience all around. I'm very happy with my decision.

Update: We just purchased a second Volvo car from Alon Katende and again had a wonderful experience! Alon worked with us to identify the S60 as the right car for our family, and then worked with us to lease the car at a fair price. He was patient and kind, and made the process incredibly easy. Shopped for a car online. Called Deborah to get a price quote. She was honest and knowledgable! She knew about the cars that met my search criteria and offered me information to ensure that I made the best decision. She was easy to work with and very helpful. I bought a used car . They try there best to give me the car in the best condition possible. I bought the car with no warranty because was a 2005 car and after I bought they find out that the turn signal was broken so they decided to delay the deliver day so they can fix it and they change the brakes also. Very responsible , caring honest people. The personality of Mr. Pablo is a invitation card , that makes you fill good. Was panicked when I noticed a bubble in my tire on my new XC60. I called my sales rep Steve at Smythe Volvo who was so kind and reassuring. He pulled up my account and let me know I had a tire and wheel policy. Within fifteen minutes I had received a call from Dennis in service who scheduled an appointment for me the next day. All this time they kept me calm, there was no stress, and this was totally free. I went to Smythe Volvo for my 50,000 Maintenance Checkup. (This was my first time at this dealership as my previous dealership closed.) Right from the start, I was amazed at the friendly service. When I drove my car into the garage, I was greeted by Michael Watson, a Service Advisor. (By the way, the garage was immaculate!) It was obvious that the maintenance department was very busy. One would never know it because Michael spent a lot of time explaining everything that was going to be done. I never felt rushed. Michael also took time to look at the car, and he answered all my questions. He was extremely patient and very knowledgeable. I waited in a very comfortable area which was stocked with snacks and drinks. (The restrooms were very clean.) Michael told me the approximate time frame it would take to service the car. During this time frame, he gave me updates. After the service was completed, I was given a checklist (with helpful visuals). Michael spent time going over everything that was done. Michael Watson is an asset to Smythe Volvo and a superb representative of Volvo. When I drove away, my car looked great and drove like a new car. Kudos to the Volvo tech, David Flores, who worked on the car; you did a great job.

I had the pleasure of working with Brian G in selling my Jeep and leasing a 2021 XC40. He made the process incredibly painless and was totally transparent with me. I left later that afternoon with my new car! Less than 5 days later, I accidentally got a screw in my tire. I arrived to the service center without an appointment and was escorted in immediately. Dennis J assisted me with my service and I was in and out in under an hour! I am truly impressed by the kindness and efficiency of this dealership and it s employees.

From the moment we called, we knew we were in good hands. We ended up at Smythe after going to another local Volvo dealer who had us wait for over an hour with no end in sight. The entire team, including Steve, Paul, and PJ, took excellent care of us on an extremely busy day. I recently bought my third Certified Pre-Owned Volvo from Smythe, and - as always - it was a smooth, stress free experience. The past times I had visited other dealerships, only to find that the vehicles they advertised as CPO were, in fact, not CPO. I even dealt with one dealer that wanted to add the cost of VIN engraving to the final bill. Even though the VIN was already engraved. He said that they can't let a vehicle leave the dealership without it. So I left the dealership without buying the vehicle.

There's no such "bait and switch" or other upsell gimmicks at Smythe, so theirs was the only website I visited when I was ready for a newer vehicle. They had the S60 in stock that I wanted, so I visited on a Monday afternoon and worked with Pablo. His demeanor set me at ease immediately, and after the test drive I told him I wanted the vehicle and we could skip all the sales fluff. Pablo quickly walked me thru the initial paperwork while the finance manager Sean got my loan in order. I came back at 5:00 that evening, signed for the loan, and was driving away in my new Volvo shortly thereafter.

Smythe, the dealer that I trust, had the vehicle that I wanted. Pablo listened to my needs and provided a great buying experience. That's how car buying should be!!

To add to this, while road tripping a month later (or so), a pebble hit our windshield, and a large crack developed. William suggested that we connect with Dennis Jeffers is service. Dennis was incredibly responsive, walked us through the process of getting the windshield replaced (both verbally and then in-person on the day of), and made sure we comfortable with the pricing and all the steps needed to go back to our insurance company. My wife and I leased a new Volvo from Smythe during the middle of Covid, and the Smythe team was exceptional, especially considering the difficult operating environment impacting everyone at that time. I would highly recommend Smythe to anyone looking for a car, and I must say that I really like our new Volvo XC60 -- it drives fantastic. Great dealer experiences are hard to come by - Smythe Volvo is absolutely the exception. The energy at the dealership is fantastic- you can tell all of the employees genuinely like their jobs and believe in creating a seamless experience. Car buying is normally a sort of stressful experience for me- I am a busy full time working mom- I am always short on time and skeptical of the "dealer experience." The evening I had at Smythe Volvo completely changed my perception.

I sat with Kevin and Debbie and they both made me feel like I was spending time with friends. Kevin recommended options he truly thought were going to work for me and my lifestyle and explained all the pertinent information in perfect detail. There was zero pressure, honesty from both and they were so respectful of my time and preferences.

I recently purchased a XC40 from Smythe Volvo and Chris was my salesman. I can't say enough great things about him.! He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied--from start to finish! In fact, even now that I have the car he is regularly following up to answer questions about the vehicle! There was never any pressure and he is extremely knowledgeable about Volvos. He took his time going over the details of the XC40 and answered every question without hesitation. He was in no hurry to take our money and get us out the door. This dealership genuinely cares about customer satisfaction and Chris Jones is a first-rate and caring salesman. Highly recommend!

I have been shopping around for cars and I stopped into Smythe Volvo. I had the privilege to have Brian Gagliardi as my salesman I must tell in all of the years going to various dealerships this is the first one we re I was not pressured into anything. Brian was very knowledgeable of the few car s I had asked him about. I told my wife it was such a pleasure to go there. I still haven t decided what to purchase yet but anyone looking to purchase a new or used car should at least come into this dealership they are a very upbeat professional dealership. Just today, I picked-up my new 2021 Volvo S60 T6 and I am elated! I was shopping for a sedan (transitioning from a crossover) and it took me a while to shop around and decide on a Volvo. I worked with Patrick Ruane in sales from start to finish and he was hands-down fantastic. No high-pressure sales tactics, no BS, and he gave me by far the best price right from the start. Once I decided on Volvo I did shop around just to get an idea of price and Patrick's price could not be beat. Add to that the excellent service Smythe provides; the experience was great. No stress. Patrick even made my car pick-up experience wonderful! I highly recommend working with Patrick and the Smythe Volvo team.

With my bday around the corner. I decided to treat myself to a new vehicle. After a few weeks of research, I had narrowed my selection down to these cars. The Cadillac xt5, Infiniti qx60, Volvo xc60, and the Audi q5. All the other dealerships either didnt try hard enough, or tried to hard. I wasn't impressed with the Cadillac or the Infiniti. I came into Smythe just looking for info. Sat down with Brian who asked if I wanted to go for a test drive. Brian had the right balance. Not beating you over the head with a sales pitch, but not ignoring you either. He answered any questions I had, yet let the car speak for itself. I never made it to the audi dealership.

I just leased a 2019 XC90 from Symth Volvo. Eric was our sales rep and he was very helpful in finding our dream car. I wasn't sure what I am looking for and they priced multiple cars for me without any complaints. I was able to discuss everything over email and phone and the terms were as discussed on the email. At the dealership, Eric took the time to explain the car features and make sure it was ready for pickup. I was asked if I wanted a wear-tear warranty without any pressure to buy. I would definitely buy again from them and will recommend family and friends.

Mike Mitchko is the reason I use this dealership. He and the mechanics he works with are the best out there. Mike is 100% the reason why I keep coming back to Smythe Volvo. He is a good one that any employer would be happy to have.

I have been wanting to get a new car for over a year now - the Volvo SUV was one of 3 SUVs had my interest. Once I stepped into the Smythe Dealership, the whole staff was polite and welcoming. My appointment was with Ashley - she is a sales person that you want to deal with. In asking me some general questions, she understood my concerns, she wasn't aggressive and she was able to quickly respond to all my questions. I felt comfortable working with Ashley. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the XC60 or XC90 - I felt that the 90 was more than what I needed. Ashley took the time to educate me on some of the minor differences. The team was helpful and accommodating and set me up for a test drive in the XC60 and XC90 - as soon as we came back from testing the XC60 - the XC90 was ready for me to take on the road. After test driving the XC90 - my decision was made - I had to go with the bigger SUV. Ashley then went through the trim levels and packages for the XC90 - I valued her opinion when trying to determine the color of the exterior and interior. To ensure that I felt comfortable with my decisions, on a cold Saturday, we went out to the lot to view cars with different exterior and interior combinations. I am glad she took the time because I was committed to get the maroon brown interior - but once seeing it in the vehicle - I fell out of favor for that color. After reviewing all of features that I would be interested in - Ashley then points me to a Silver/Black Inscription on the showroom floor that matched everything that I was looking for. I was sold. Ashley went through the paperwork, explained each form, and made the process simple. We added a few extra options which was installed and ready for my pickup. In handing over the key, Ashley made sure to go through each feature and function with me - she walked me through the 'On Call' and 'Android Auto' features and thoroughly explained the dashboard and driving features. Working with Ashley and the rest of the Smythe Team was a major reason why deciding on Volvo was the right decision to make.

Steve was really helpful and professional. We received great service from him. I would recommend him to anybody interested in buying a Volvo. Yes you still need to make some effort to get a better deal. However, we are extremely satisfied with his transparency and honesty.

Being a confirmed Swedish car lover(Saab)I have stopped by, over the years, at Smythe Volvo to check out the "other" Swedish competition. Finally decided it's time to bite the bullet, since Saab has been out of business since 2012. Thanks to Kyle Jackson, a knowledgeable Volvo professional and Volvo owner, I was able to find the perfect Volvo which fit my needs. I am actually returning this weekend to see Kyle and consider purchasing a second Volvo. Simply said, Smythe Volvo is a "Class Act".

Exceptional service. I went in to have my tire repaired on my new XC40 and could not have been more pleased with the experience. From the moment I stepped into the facility, Dina Thompson greeted me with a positive attitude and was very accommodating. Offered several options, including a shuttle service back to my office, while my vehicle was being repaired. Luckily, the repair was relatively quick so the shuttle service was not necessary. Mind you, I did not even lease my XC40 at this dealership. I will be coming back here for all future maintenance of my XC40. Thank you Smythe Volvo.

Volvos are expensive, Smythe makes them more sensible purchases by providing more for the investment. Dropping off a car to Service includes a discussion and walk-around of the car, what should be done, what not, etc., and a similar dialog when picking it up, not just an illegible bill and open questions. They have a good waiting area and they are always open for questions, discussions, etc., and have treated me fairly and honestly, so I rate the dealership 5-stars. Nice group of people and competent, a good combination. Volvos have pluses and minuses but this dealer is excellent.

I visited Smythe Volvo in January and worked with Samer Shehata to get my new Volvo. Sam was extremely helpful, nice, knowledgeable and flexible in making sure I found the perfect car that fit my needs! I would highly recommend working with Sam and Smythe Volvo if you are looking for a Volvo.

Let me start off by saying this was my first lease. I was unsure with the process, nervous, and had that typical excitement one would have when looking at new cars. Anyway, after looking online at the choices, I decided to head to summit despite it being a bit further away from hoboken. I was glad that I went the extra distance because the experience I had at this dealer was remarkable.

I arrived ten minutes prior to opening, and they made me feel right at home. Kyle was kind, professional, courteous, and most importantly honest. From the beginning, he understood what my needs were and made it his goal to make sure that I was comfortable with the process. There was zero pressure, and he guided me through the process, all the while ensuring that both my wife and I were happy.

I must re-iterate, he was very concerned with how my wife and I were doing throughout the process. He understood that leasing/purchasing a new car can be stressful, and to have that bit of care was something rather unique, which we appreciated.
