He explained the entire system, reviewing all aspects of the keypad then thoroughly assisted while we set up our app. The app is an excellent feature. We use this regularly. We are long-time customers and today, one of the reasons why was validated. Bruce, our technician arrived to install some equipment I thought was needed, however the honesty and integrity of Bruce and Smith Thompson showed me that what I thought I needed wasn't needed. He easily could have just showed up and installed what I was interested in and never said a word. He took care of my aging batteries that I was not aware were tired, and gave us some additional advice, all instead of selling us something we didn't need. This company is TOPS when it comes to security and pest control. (We use that too!)

He was fast and efficient and got our system working again after the house flooded during Harvey. I had been with ADT for 28 years and had gotten totally fed up with them. I moved back to Texas from out of state and wanted an alarm system in my new place. After careful research I chose Smith Thompson owing to a tip from a friend and the clear-cut website. I was concerned if they serviced the McKinney area, and they did! They made it easy to set up an installation and it really helped to know ahead of time that they could work with my existing system. The BIG PLUS was that when the technician arrived, they were true to their quote and did not try and sell me extras I was not wanting! The technician, by the way, arrived on time and knew exactly how to install what I wanted. Overall, it was a VERY efficient operation. Also, I don't think anyone will find better monitoring rates than Smith Thompson offers. I would highly recommend this company!

Had an appointment scheduled to repair and I called was given a time and did not show- I had to take vacation and now I get to do it again, I have been a customer for 20 years- I guess they have just gotten TOO BIG

Was with A something T who never responded to alarms when we tested the system. said we turned it off too quick. Let it run for 5 minutes once. Found out we were not connected. I stopped the nonsense with them and went to Smith & Thompson and have never had a problem with them. Always get a call back almost immediately. been with them for several years now.

When we purchased our home we noticed a Smith Thompson label near our security unit so we decided to give them a shot. Activation of our unit was fast and the service tech was thorough with his work and in explaining how to use the system. One month into our service, we have no complaints. We sleep better knowing our house is alarmed and I know I sleep better paying an affordable monthly charge for a premium monitoring service.

Backlog of service calls delayed my appointment. Once it came around, service was excellent.

Smith Thompson did a great job in updating our home security system. We are first time homeowners and everyone is trying to get our business right now with setting things up. These guys were straightforward with their options and pricing, on time in their appointment and quick! They also provided recommendations for future work but left no pressure to do the work right away or anything, great job!

We have been very happy with Smith Thompson and their service. We had a new door installed and called them to install a new door sensor. They came out, looked at the system, and determined that the alarm unit was an older generation and needed an upgrade. They upgraded the system (which came with a much improved mobile app to control it) checked all of the sensors, and did it as part of the original service estimate. We have found them to be very customer friendly in all of our engagements with them.

I had an issue with the monitor. Called customer service and they did some work online and said it was clear on their end. However my monitor still registered an error code. Customer service rep made an appointment for a technician to come out and see if they could remedy my problem. Jeff came out at the appointed time and worked until the problem was solved. Super fast installation and so much cheaper than ADT.

I had Smith Thompson installed in February 2018. The technician was very proficient and courteous and he showed me how to use the app (Homecontrol Flex) to arm and disarm the system. Great work.

Signed up for the new Pest control add on and they have missed 2 scheduled appts. No call back to say sorry or resked. I called after the first miss and the guy says he doesn't know what happened. Reset the appt. and they didn't show up again! I wouldn't recommend this - sorry I left Arrow now. Also, "on hold for next operator" everytime I call - annoying. I find customer service people a little surly with a little too much 'tude. Still pissed that I had to pay for their "technology update". Seems like that should have been a cost of doing business for THEM. Used to be a good company but may have grown too fast and not putting $$ back into service.

I just got my Smith and Thompson Security installed and I'm pretty pleased with it. I was looking for a company that I could use for securing my house and this company was recommended to be by a co-worker. The system is very user friendly! What really drawn me to the company was the price for service. It's under $20 a month which is perfect. You have the option of a 3 month bill or yearly. You get a month free. You do have to buy your equipment which is 299 but it's NO CONTRACT unlike some other companies. So if you decide to cancel, there's no cancellation fee and you get refunded for the months you paid ahead. I've got estimates from 3 other companies and the longest contract was 36 months, so if you do that math then compare it with smith Thompson, you end up saving over $250. It's a simple security box, easy to use. If you want wireless, they have that option. If you are looking for doorbell cameras, home automation, etc etc you won't find it there, but this company is reliable, affordable, and offers no obligation. I'll take that ANY day! Thanks Smith and Thompson for giving me a peace of mind that my home is safe when I'm away and when I decide to stay.

The company worked with us and we were quickly able to reschedule. The technician was on time and very knowledgable about the equipment. The equipment is discreet and the system is very affordable for what is included. Plus, we got a month free for paying for a year in advance. I would recommend them to anyone looking into a home security system.

Very easy to switch! Pricing is very competitive based on their offering. Technician explained everything to me and I went ahead and paid for a full year for a discount. My existing equipment worked fine except for switching out the wireless transmitter which made sense as well

The technician was very friendly and ugraded our old system for a lot less than I expected! Tommy Calk was the technician who completed our quarterly pest control service on February 2, 2021. He sent a friendly reminder 4-5 days before the appointment. As with all the technicians we have used, he was courteous and professional and did an outstanding job. We have not had any insect problems.

Poor service. We had few accidental door openings and they never called us back. Finally we called them to cancel and they never cancelled the service from their end. And they are saying I still own the balance.

The price is the cheap, no doubt about it, and that seems to be the thrust of most of the positive reviews. I want to warn people that this company provides a false sense of security, and we wound up paying dearly.

I came home earlier this week, after being away just a few hours, to discover my home had been burglarized. The intruder(s) had scaled a fence to get into my back yard, then shattered our glass-paned door. --And the alarm never got tripped! --(In fact, I had disarmed it as I walked in the door.). Afterwards...after the police left, as I was combing through my ransacked house, staring blankly at the piles of my personal belongings strewn across the floors along with emptied jewelry boxes,...still in shock, ...I called Smith-Thompson to find out why the alarm didn't trip. I was told "You don't have glass break protection. "EXCUSE me? What?...You mean those door and window sensors only work if you happen to leave something unlocked--not if someone actually BREAKS in? All it takes is a swift kick of the glass--and it's a free-for-all for burglars? NO one had ever mentioned a separate add-on for "glass break protection." "Why didn't you tell us?", I asked. To which the company rep. replied: "We don't try to up-sell our customers, because we want to keep the price point low." --So--you don't even bother to TELL them about this "little secret" even when you SEE that the customer's front and back doors both have big panes of breakable glass, plus a pair of big windows? Seriously? I would have happily paid! Now, we're paying dearly, because Smith-Thompson sold us a false sense of security. I am submitting this complaint to warn other homeowners not to fall for the low price, fooled into thinking their homes are protected when, clearly, they're not. Not with Smith-Thompson. It's all smoke and mirrors until you wind up paying dearly, like we are.
