The pictures look awesome but once you get there you realize a lot if things are outdated. The light in the bathroom seemed to be a strobbe light, I had to keep the bathroom door opened to get light from the room in order to pee, thank god no one in the group had epilepsy. There must of been a reception going on in the conference room below us because even on the 7th floor, the music and bass was so loud it was shaking the walls until 11:30 at night. Luckily, when we could finally sleep the beds did not disappoint, very comfortable. Kim at the front desk was accomadating and kind since it was birthday. Overall, wouldn't stay again.
This is the check in line. "Been like this all day", said the security guard.
45 minutes to an hour to check in, standing out in the hot sun.
Let me begin by saying that I have stayed at the Sirata many times over the past few years. In the beginning it was a go to place because of access to the beach, multiple swimming pools, 3 different restaurants on site, and ease of access to a local public. I stopped going a few years ago because the rooms seemed drab, run down, and somewhat dirty. While searching for places to spend a weekend I noticed that they had some reasonable rates and decided to book a room. I'm sure, like many "resorts"on the beach they charge a resort fee, but I was floored by how much it was in comparison to others locations I researched. Its bad enough that they gouge you with that, but if you have a 2nd vehicle they try and get you for a second parking fee of $10 dollars a day. I'm sure that the associate that was checking me in could sense my frustration and offered the 2nd vehicles parking as a courtesy. She was pleasant, but it was not a very fun way to start a staycation. Supposedly the amenities would recoup the cost of the astronomical resort fee, but that was not my experience. We were offered a complimentary breakfast for 2 to use on a day of our choosing. We discovered that the menu was the same for any of the dining areas you chose. I didnt take much issue with this, but a little disappointing that there was such a lack of variety. The breakfast was 50/50. The BLT was quite honestly a home run. HIGHLY recommend. Copious amounts of bacon, fresh tomatoes, piled high and bread was toasted perfectly. The sausage gravy and biscuits tasted burnt, and flavorless. The biscuits seemed old and stale. This was the only time on our stay that we ate there. The rooms have certainly been updated, but lacked some of the amenities that you would consider to be normal like hand soap!
Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in pumps on the wall of the shower was a little unsettling. Multi use items for a resort?
One of the amenities was supposed to be a cocktail hour by the beach. The lines were so long, that it made it almost impossible to get more than 1 drink. People lined up, but only 1 attendant was there to take care of a long line of people. Another amenity is beachfront chairs.
The verbiage leads you to belive that it includes the umbrella or cabana, but that isn't the case.
In summation:
Rooms are updated, but not stocked for a "resort".
Beach access is good, and attendants are pleasant.
Bars are ok, and there are several pools to choose from.
Rates for what you get in return leave a lot to be desired.
Somewhat hidden, or slight of hand charges.
Amenities aren't what they seem to be on paper. Grounds need more attention as they were constantly riddles with cigarette butts.
I would steer clear. It would take a lot for me to reconsider returning. There are so many options on the beach that I feel like I could have had a much better experience elsewhere. I waited a few weeks to write this review because I wanted to make sure that it wasn't purely based on emotion, but the more I thought on it the more I realized it was all very clear. Please do your research about surrounding options first
Gorgeous place. Nice for family or honeymoon or couples vacation. Can not go wrong. A must see. Miles of beaches and shops. Great food. Loretta
Friendly staff, beautiful beach,we had breakfast and dinner at their bar on the beach every day, limited menu because not a full size restaurant but good food,Michael at front desk was very helpful ,will be back
I am so happy I found this hotel! Would like to thank Sandra for helping me and my family through out the stay! She went above and beyond to make my family comfortable. Clean rooms amazing view!
Pleasant stay, only bad thing was the rooms are not being cleaned and a coacaroch in the bathroom.
Nice venue. However cleanliness was not up to my standards.
I don't like this resort it smells old. No wash clothes in my room. Terrible I will never stay here again. They called theirselves upgrade my room it was terrible.
The marketing for this resort is really fantastic. It looks new, clean and fun! However, the renovations they recently did are very poor. There are still popcorn ceilings, old doors/windows and the facility overall is very worn and dirty. Staff was not bad but not particularly pleasant either. I certainly did not leave thinking that they were great or made any effort to make sure our stay was satisfactory.
In reality, these resorts aren t always the best and you pay a premium to be directly on the beach. But as a local to the Florida West Coast I just feel that this place is grossly overpriced for what it has to offer. Also, be sure to pay hidden resort fees (they advertise it as included) and $20 to use an umbrella on the beach.
Y all can t be serious with your dirty floors and old appliances. We had to punch our shower button to turn off.
Big plus - this place is ON the beach. However, housekeeping was diaappointing and almost knocked this to a 2 star - hairs in tub (not ours) upon arrival, no service day 1, late service day 2, three dirty towels, no coffee replacement on day 3, partial service day 4. Breakfast buffet OK.
The location was amazing! Right on the ocean, the pool and outdoor bars were amazing with great drinks. My only complaint is the very high noise levels in the rooms. I constantly heard people walking by, doors slamming, and people yelling at night. I called the front desk a few times overnight because of the people next door screaming and fighting for over an hour, slamming doors and pounding on the door and I don t think anything was done about it. I don t think I would come back unfortunately.
I loved it but half of the time the Xbox room the consoles had no internet and the controllers don t work half the time.
Very nice location, great beach and excellent service very friendly and prompt. Room was roomy and quiet with pool and beach view from outside the door. Close to the beach, bars and activities.
RATING -10
1st, the pictures of the resort are VERY DECEIVING. 2nd when we finally came to the resort the lady we encountered at the front desk was actually very nice (unlike the rest of staff we have encountered). However her "customer sales pitch was full of bs". Due to the COVID they stated that they are taking extra precautions to sanitize and clean and that our room would NOT have certain items in it to minimize the exposure (i.e. no coffee machine, ironing board bit would be given upon request). She also stated that housekeeping would come around now every 3 days to minimize their exposure (which is understandable) however we have been here for 6 days and NEVER had anyone come to empty our trash let alone get any housekeeping and definitely NO CLEAN TOWELS. She also tried to perk up the resort stating that we received an upgrade with a small kitchen and a refrigerator (come to find out all the rooms had it). So finally we get to our room and it smelled like it was clean, but looking into it further it was disgustingly filthy and noticed that there was a coffee maker in the room which the front desk stated was removed to minimize exposure, as well as an ironing board so that was a LIE. In the bathroom they forgot to remove the used soap from the previous guests, the room was very dusty, the chairs had disgusting stains on it and the mirrors were so nasty that you could see all the grease marks behind it and the towels had nasty stains on it(so basically the housekeeping comes by and just sprays it down to make it smell like its clean but in reality its filthy). We called the front desk to inform them of this and the lady that answered was very short and unfriendly, her response was you can come to the front desk again (mind you we were in line for over an hour just to check in as they are social distancing, which is understandable) and we were not about to go thru that mess again, so we just asked if we could have someone come by and please clean the bathroom and wipe down the room again. Finally after 2hrs the cleaning lady comes by with and attitude and goes straight to the bathroom takes the soap and just tosses it into the trash, sprays the tub with God knows what and proceeds to leave, and on her way out she says there is NOTHING I can do about the rest. We were dumbfounded but tried to let it go. We then decided to go to the beach and started noticing how the whole resort was disgustingly filthy and there was trash everywhere from cigarette butts to empty cups from drunk people leaving them everywhere to even a used tampon and even sanitary pads . At this point we have paid our money and we knew we couldn't get it back so we tried to make the best out of it but it kept getting worse. As we went to the beach it stated that we get 2 complimentary beach chairs so we went to the beach service guys to ask for them. As my husband, daughter and I approached the guy would NOT even give the respect to look at us, however while we are talking to him 5 beautiful young ladies came up and he turned his back to us and started to talk to them. They asked him for chairs that he provided them with and when he finally decided to get back to us, he statednthat he had no more chairs left. Also, around the pool area we have seen dirty diapers being left, used cups with cigarette butts in it and trash literally in every corner and we did not see anyone coming around picking it up. The ladies at the bar are short, cold and unfriendly and the staff all around very rude (not sure if they are overworked, but considering everything looked disgusting I am not sure how that is possible). Also whenever you try to get a beach towel there are NEVER any available as people have and started taking 6-8 towels to use in their rooms. Over all this was a HORRIBLE experience and we have told our family that planned on coming down next week to find a different place as this is not worth the money at all. We will never be coming back here again.
I will be fair and give them a 2 the staff are courteous and helpful. However the management will nickel and dime you for everything. Some room are great and others are less than spectacular (underwhelming). Not many people are happy here due to nickel and dime.
hotel was nice and clean. food and drinks were good as well, some of the staff were rude to us because some of us only spoke Spanish, even though we could speak english clearly they did not want to help.
My family loved almost everything about the resort. The rooms were a nice size and clean. Staff were very nice and accommodating. The only thing that was to be more desired was the game room. It was musty and smelled of mold. My boys who are teenagers said only 2 games worked. And the wifi in the game room was slow. That Is my only complaint. Other than that I loved the sirata
Decent resort, everything is very good but nothing stood out as anything awesome. 3-star but credit of 1-star for fact it is in middle of total renovation
The bar is awsone leads to the beach. Beach is available to visit at night aswell
Stayed last week for my birthday. Was a gift from my boyfriend. And we kept getting bit at night while we were sleeping. I went home with over 10 bites all on different areas on my body. The bites are in groups and some even in a straight line. I ve never experienced anything like that before. Though it wouldn t be an issue when I got home. Well I was completely wrong whatever bit me in the room followed me back home and kept biting my boyfriend and I. We are covered in bites. We both googled what we are experiencing and the main result that comes up is that it s bed bugs. I called the hotel now multiple times and I m told I need to talk to the general manager who s name is Paul and I ve left several messages waiting a response but so far haven t heard back. I m super disappointed that my birthday beach trip has turned into this nightmare to we re I don t even want to go home and sleep in my own bed. I called my reg exterminator who comes our quarterly and checks my home and they said it s going to be 1300 to treat my whole house for bed bugs. That they are super hard to get rid of bc there small and hid very well. I just want a response from the hotel to help with this expense and to return the money That was paid for the room bc this isn t the experience you should have at a nice hotel.
I recently stayed at this property (24th Dec, 2020) but had to shorten my trip due to illness. Airlines were kind enough to allow me to prepone my flight back but this hotel charged me for my stay plus one night as cancellation fees. I have never experienced such a horrible customer service.
I tried reaching to reservation desk but they said they can't do anything and their manager is never available to discuss it.
The rooms were absolutely filthy! Customer service was terrible. Literally an expensive motel. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would! How can you run an operation with it being so dirty?! My feet were black from walking from one bed to the bathroom (disgusting)! The most limited parking I ve ever seen and a ridiculous amenities fee of $40 a day... for WHAT?! Bugs, mold, and a filthy room? Save yourselves money and a headache and go elsewhere!
Do not stay here!!!! Customer service is terrible!! They have no skills what so ever in how to keep a customer happy. I paid for a OCEANVIEW KING SUITE! And received a parking lot no balcony suite. When I called to ask what happened to my room they told me I can look outside the front door and turn my head to see the ocean!!!!! Like what?!!! I am a manager myself and I would NEVER say anything like that to my clients!!! Was planning on having my wedding ceremony there but after this experience I will never book there again!! Please save your money and time!!! You can pay the same for a luxury suite in a 5 star hotel! I m definitely spreading the word to my thousands of followers on all my social medias because honestly the experience I had there is definitely one to warn others about.
As a somewhat local, I can honestly say I love the Sirata. From the rooms to the beach bars, I ve never been unhappy leaving there!!
This review is for the beach bar only as we did not stay at the resort itself. A good location along St. Pete Beach with good views of the beach and gulf. Also the place to be if you want to catch that sports game you were interested in. Fairly good selection of beer with some local craft beers. We had the conch fritters to and they were more dough than conch and very pasty. I otherwise enjoyed a Cigar City brew and the weather was terrific. Staff seem harried so service can be a little slow.
At the most a 3 only because the place wasn't filthy on top of all else. First room had tile that when you walked squished water up through, then second room was the "upgrade" which was admittedly nicer accept room cards didnt work so I had to go back 2 different times to correct that. Now I go to lay down for the night and neither of the TVs work, so, great that we are in this fancy room...not. I've stayed many places in Florida for beach enjoyment and this will not be somewhere I return despite their "free" rum runners which my resort fee of $40 actually pays for. Just unfortunate given how great this place would be with minor customer service and quality control. Not asking much just that the amenities actually work. Spent hours waiting on the initial room despite checkout time of 4pm....so add it all up and hours of my vacation are gone without a trace.
Elevators don t work and good luck getting the beach towel. I went to the main laundry room three times and no one was able to give me one. Rooms are not like the way they look on the website. However the resort is clean And restaurants are good. $40 per day resort fee is a joke. For $40 a night you can t even get towels for pool or room.
Lots of Sand in room when we checked in and ended up cleaning myself. Bed was comfortable.
We recently got married at Sirata Beach Resort on 03.07.2020, we chose Sirata for the value and the view. Saint Pete Beach is beautiful but always keep in mind you get what you pay for. We originally reached out to Jennifer Jasper 2 years ago to see the property, it was under construction so it seemed like it was getting up to date. Once choosing the venue we were assigned to Kasey Bussel, who then informed us that the wedding date we wanted was no longer available. This should have been our first sign of things to come... we were then lied to about the room block. Kasey told us that we could start off with 10 rooms and add more down the road. Further more she told us to tell our guests to book later since it was spring break and the phones were busy. Once spring break was over we tried to get more rooms, we were told that the rate had to be higher and in the end could not get more rooms. Looking back at it we should have tasted to food before booking it to make sure the food was good. Luckily the food was good but the napkins we requested were all of a sudden no longer available. Kasey quit working at Sirata 5 months before our wedding, understandably things change but this was difficult for us seeing she said she would be with us every step of the way. We were 2 years in to planning and we could not seem to get a hold of anyone there. Finally they hired some one to replace Kasey, her name was Tracy and she came from the hotel next store "Grand Plaza". In the 4 months to come we got everything set up although it was rough. We also found out that Kasey was planning on charging us more then we agreed on, things seemed to be coming together slowly. Once the wedding weekend arrived more problems occurred, we had made itineraries that were never given out, we "the groom and bride" did not get waters at check in and the wifi was never given out. We make a point of these things because they are supposed to be included in the "Resort Fee" you pay each day. Our first night the fire pits did not work and the bars shut down early. Our second day it was a hassle to try to check in for the bridal suite, I had to keep calling to see if the room was available. On the wedding day we were told that Tracy would not be staying through the night, that we were being passed off to the a banquet person to help us throughout the night. He did not help throughout the night, he disappeared about 20 minutes in. The groom had to go into the kitchen to get our food, we were never served dinner or the cake. The bartender was rude and on her phone the entire night. Maybe we are crazy to think this but especially since we are the groom and bride, we thought we would get great service. We paid an additional 1,500 to have a trade up bar and that liquor was not served. After this we went to Rum Runners on location for an after party. To rewind for a second we were told that they had 1 wedding a day when we were booking, this is not the case. We found this out when there was another bridal party at rum runners as well. I digress.. our credit card was stolen, charged at the 7-eleven down the street and then returned to the main desk. The next day we had a meeting with Tracy and the Manager Jackie in regards to the stolen card, never getting our food and paying additional money for a buy up we did not receive. We were told that the manager of Rum Runners and security would be reaching out to us about the card, Tracy and Jackie said they would followup as well. All in all our complaints were pushed aside since they already had their money, we still have not had anything resolved 2 weeks later. Due to the card being stolen we had to order a new card but it did not come in time for our honeymoon. This was supposed to be the happiest day of our new lives together but it turned out to be stressful, hectic, not organized and a sham.
This place was great we had a short 2 nite stay to get away from the daily grind. We can't wait to get back there love it. Clean nice rooms staff was great. Food was good and drinks at beach bar were great
Sirata beach is wonderful!!! We were treated with nothing but kindness from ALL THE STAFF! The staff, room, food, beach, service was all phenomenal! We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended it two more days. This place is BEAUTIFUL, the room was comfortable, food plentiful, delicious, and they made us feel at home. (Front desk)Jakeya, Allan, and the lovely people at Compass grill all went out of their way to help, and make us comfortable, they were all AWESOME! We will be be back, and spread the word
I will be in this place for 8 days. and from the first minutes I regret coming here. the rooms are tragically messy! call room service not possible! the food is endlessly tasteless and the prices under such food are high! beach even umbrella paid! I'm so sorry I didn't choose another hotel. i am a former st. petersburg beach is not afraid of other hotels. it was the worst of all it would be.
I tried to do my research before my trip. I was looking forward to the updated rooms and I was okay with construction. The room was just okay, some things were filthy! Like the wood floors, they kept turning my daughter's feet black black. We asked 3 times for someone to just mop the floor. We would leave so housekeeping could come and yet every day our feet were still black. It's a new floor and not carpet so it should've been easy to clean.. another thing that was a letdown is if you called the front you were lucky to get an answer. Like when I asked about the floors the first time, they just said okay and hung up! I had other questions about the hotel, like where things were, and they didn't answer again when I called back.. the hotel itself is all outside, to get to the rooms or pools. In my opinion they are charging too much money, especially when the hotel isn't done, and I don't see it being the kind of resort I was expecting even when it is.. It does have a view though!... It uploaded my photos out of order, they were in order from room to room to outside..
We took our mother and son on a vacation to Sirata beach resort! The resort was clean, the staff was very friendly! Pete working the rum runners hut is 110% amazing! He operates games for adults and children! He always had a positive attitude and was nothing but amazing to our family! He was one of the reasons we kept going to the pool everyday! Prices are high at bar for food and alcohol! But overall we did enjoy! #Pete you re amazing!
I stayed here for a week in august in a room by the pool which was super clean, well kept. The pool bar and beach cabanas were nice.
Nice and clean resort. Food and drinks are great. Employees very mannerly.
Hello,
I was a guest at this establishment Friday May 22nd.
This was not the smoothest day for this location. I booked my room online earlier that morning and wasn t checked in until 1130 at night due to reasons I still do not understand.
I came to the hotel at 4pm to check in, only to be greeted by a long line outside of the registration building. Parking was completely full so after a 30 minute ride around to finally find a parking spot. My family and I discovered that line was to check in for the day and people had already been standing there for hours.
My family and I decided to go eat somewhere on the premises in hopes that the line would go down. I continued to check the line from a distance and by the time the sun went down the line was even longer so we finally stood in line. It began to rain,a fight had already broken out, but we were asked to move the entire line facing the opposite direction due to being in the way of cars coming in to check in of which clearly was not possible. I asked the security guard for an umbrella (as he was passing them out around me) and was told they were for families with children only. So my family and I stood outside this resort registration building for two hours to finally receive a hotel key, a rude notice that the room with the balcony I wanted was not available, a free drink pass(of which was announced to the line of people would be open until 11 or possibly later).
I proceeded to the bar (rum runner) where there was sign saying seat yourself and a few other tables around eating and drinking.
I was never greeted by a server after sitting there for about 10 minutes so I got up and asked a gentleman if they were still serving and he gladly told me No, and walked away. By this time I m seeing the people I stood in line with making their way towards me with their drink passes so I let them know it was closed.
No promises kept at this location and I was charged resort fees without even having stayed at this establishment longer than 8 hours due to plans starting at 9am the next morning and never getting my key until after 11pm at night.
I ve worked in the hospitality industry more than 10 years and I have never seen something so disorganized. No management to be found. So hopefully this email makes it into the right inbox.
The money I spent on resort fees and my room were completely not worth it and unacceptable. I received a text two days later asking about my stay and I replied with awful and was instructed to email my concerns to someone but never received a reply.
When we checked in at 2:40 pm, the room wasn t ready. They said they would text us when our room was ready. We never received a text, we finally checked in at 10:20 pm!! We asked why they didn t let us know, but they didn t have an explanation. So I asked to speak with Sophia, the manager. She wasn t available. They asked me to leave my phone number, so we did. Did we ever receive a phone call? Nope! The room wasn t ready until 10:30pm but they still expect me to pay a $45 service fee. Also, they have beach chairs with umbrellas, but you have to pay to use them. It could be a great hotel, but unfortunately the management only cares about one thing, and it s not the guests.
My (now!) husband Drew and I have been in a long distance relationship ever since we knew each other (I m a Texan and he is a Georgian) up until the wedding. After much thought, we decided to have a beach wedding -- somewhere where it More
Great place and can't beat the sunsets! We regularly visit.
Not we were expecting. Rooms were pretty outdated. 1st room we had we had water leaking up through the tile. I contacted the front desk they sent maintenance. I went down there to ask for different room because it was already noon and we needed to shower and maintenance still wasn t over. They told me they had to wait for maintenance to see what the problem was. My husband was pretty upset because we need to start our day. Finally he went down to complain and we were giving a different room. A room that probably haven t been cleaned in months. Dusty and dirty!!! I went to was my hand and found what is the picture. Bathtub is yellow. My 3 year old ask why it was so disgusting. Later that day I went to use a knife and it had yellow gunk on it. We did complain because it was probably going to be the same in a different room. Elevator as so slow better off taking stairs. Super dirty never been clean. Splash pad was super dirty. Bird poop all over the lounge chairs. Better off saving money and staying somewhere else. Will not be staying here again. Idk why reviews are so high. It definitely does not look like the pictures on the website.
Breathtaking view, beautiful Wedding and an amazing time!
Superb location. Right on the beach. Stayed in a suite with a double balcony and sea view. Lovely room comfy bed. Some aspects of the hotel are a little tired and in need of refreshing but that doesn't subtract from the location. Good bars, good selection of drinks. Did not sample the restaurant but it looked nice. I would stay again.
Horrible experience. Advertised check in was at 4pm and had to wait 2 hours to get into our room. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you are trying to have an enjoyable experience in St. Pete.
Man with glasses at the front desk was particularly intolerable.
Steak was edible. Breakfast - subpar.
Sincerely,
Disappointed
There was a long line at the front desk when we arrived. Front desk staff weren t very friendly, they didn t smile, gave us the impression we were bothering them, they were kind of rude.
The staff members at the beach (guys setting up chairs) were kind of rude when we asked them questions about the umbrellas. They made us feel like we were wasting their time if we weren t willing to pay for an umbrella.
Don t get me started on the staff at breakfast. Our waitress needs to find a new job, she was aggravated every time we asked her for something, and she actually said, you guys are running me to death . If I could give negative stars I would.
Way overpriced. Tiny motel room with the sink right at the entrance. Billed as a resort but it's a motel. Nice beach though
Terrible service. We had no soap in our room because they ran out. What kind of hotel runs out of soap?? The drains were clogged, could not take more than a 5 min shower without the water overflowing on to the floor. The bartender at rum runners was extremely rude to us. Way over priced!! Would not recommend!!
A very good hotel with a big pool and very close to the ocean. The only problem I had was a temporary one. They said it had 3 pools but they took out 2 and part of the parking lot so there was only 1. This should be fixed by 2019
I don't usually right reviews but I have to give a this resort a review. Yes, I would go back. It was a very enjoyable stay. 1st-I had a "Ocean Front" balcony hotel room. It was very clean, nothing special though. Loved the balcony. They definately needed more electrical outlets. The bathroom was clean but very small. There was much room for the coffee maker, hair dryer, curling iron etc... But overall excellent for cleaniness.
The staff was amazingly helpful with any needs you may need. What ever it was, I had it within seconds it seemed.
They had 2 pools and they were very nice however my suggestion would be an adult pool and a family pool. Both pools seem to be over run with children at times. But otherwise very nice and clean pools, plenty of chairs etc...
I have to give a huge shout out to a few folks who made our stay very nice. Angie, Ben and Shannon of Rum Runners. Whether they were our breakfast/lunch servers or afternoon bar tenders-they were awesome. They remember who you were, what you liked and believe me when I say, take care of them and they will take care of you. The food was plentiful and excellent as well.
Now-the beach was beautiful, clean and plain awesome. The resort allows you two lounges on the beach BUT you have to pay extra for an umbrealla. And believe me when I say, they are very particular about this. Don't even think about bringing your own. I feel with the price of the rooms, umbrellas should be included. If you want extra water sports, they have them-for a fee of course but that's everywhere. At least you don't have to leave to experience these.
Overall, we had a terrific time and I would go back.
Overall it was a nice place. We stayed 9 days here people were friendly and helpful. But there was a few times we had to make it obvious that we needed towels, Kleenex and coffee cups. 2 out of the 3 things we needed were filled by room service but we did have to call the front desk for coffee and coffee cups! They do not change sheets daily FYI. A lot of things to do suncoast rentals is right on the beach paddle boards, kayaking, banana boat, wave runners and dolphin watch cruise is available. Food is very good including drinks! But this is a resort so be prepared to pay.
Beach access and pool/bar facilities were very solid, with fun activities for the kids during the day. We hit the beach/pool several days, and our kids enjoyed every minute. Ocean activities like jet-ski, parasailing, sunset cruises are literally right in your backyard. But.... Rooms were flat out disappointing... Housekeeping was poor and inconsistent all throughout the week. Floors in the rooms were dirty upon arrival, and stayed that way throughout the week. Towel service was a joke (both in the rooms and at the pools). Air conditioning in our room did not work properly (even after the hotel's HVAC crew looked into it). We had adjoining rooms with another family, and their A/C worked great, so it wasn't just an "unfair expectation" on my part. In general, if the room quality isn't a top priority to you, and the resort facilities more important, then this place is a great value-play. If a reliably clean, cool, and well-supplied room is tops on your priorities, then this place is not for you. We had a great time, but I won't have any passionate loyalty to this place based on our experience should we ever come back to St. Pete Beach.
CONS: The wifi kicked me out every 20 mins, the Netflix on the TVs didn't work, the buildings are a little old, & there was construction going on.
PROS: The higher level suites facing the beach are awesome, it's on the beach so the sunsets are breathtaking, the staff & cleaning crew are really friendly, room was very clean, & it's not too far from a Publix, Walmart.
Was here for a 3 day work conference. I'd stay here again if there was a good deal on rooms.
Beautiful view of the beach from my room, nice restaurants, neat chairs and hammocks, good service on the beach. However, my room was very dirty and had a musty smell. Outside stairwells to the rooms look like they ve never been cleaned. The floors were disgusting and very dirty, and bathroom was not cleaned, crud all over the shower head. Not to mention there were 2 thin sheets on the beds and nothing else, no actual blankets or comforters available. Also, this resort has the WORST parking options. They have way too many rooms/guests for the MINIMAL amount of parking spaces they have. We had to park illegally in front of curbs because there wasn t a single spot available on their lot (which is not very large). Restaurant and beach staff are friendly, but definitely understaffed. Will not revisit because of the cleanliness issue. Between the cost of the stay, cost of meals, and cost of beach umbrellas (which is ridiculous), I expect my room to be CLEAN, and I expect to be able to find parking easily. Very disappointed. Online photos of this resort do not reflect what the actual buildings/rooms look like.
Nice resort for the money! Plenty of onsite amenities. Clean facilities. Will bring family back in future!
I would strongly recommend staying at the Sirata Beach Resort with a family. Great service, wonderful entertainment, beautiful venue. Everyone on the team made us feel welcomed and took really good care of us. Shot out to Glenn, Kevin and Kyle. This is the place to go to for a peaceful relaxing vacation with the family.
Nice location right on the beach ,tiki bar live music it's ok. We got the keys right away as soon as we got the resort. Room service from the restaurant was fast. I don't give 5 stars because of maids looked stress about guess asking for towels.
Great place absolutely beautiful had a wonderful time and the family seem to to enjoy their room
I ll start at check-in for my sister-in-law's wedding.
The father of the bride was attempting to check-in for his room and, much to his surprise, the Sirata said that he did not have a reservation with the Resort. The Sirata staff asked that he call his daughter (2 days before her wedding) to have her provide proof that he had a reservation. Since he s been waiting for the entirety of his daughter s life to celebrate this weekend with her, he had booked a suite and was told upon booking that the reservation would be documented as VIP and he d be staying on the same floor as his daughter. At the registration desk he was told by the Sirata staff that VIP doesn t actually have any meaning there. The bride was able to verify that her father had reserved a suite for his daughter's wedding, but he was told no suite was available now. The only resolution offered was to allow the father and stepmother of the bride to sleep in the suite that the bride and groom would be staying in the following night when they checked in. The only available option for the father and stepmother of the bride to stay at the resort after the bride and groom arrived would be in a completely separate building from the rest of the family. The groom s grandparents had a similar issue at check-in as well no record of their reservation in the system and they had to leave from taking wedding photos to spend their time at the registration desk trying to guarantee they d have a place to sleep for the night.
It appeared from the plaques hanging on the walls that this was a highly credentialed venue around 2014-2017, which leads me to believe something had changed in the years since. My sister-in-law had been dealing with a wedding planner on the staff that she enjoyed working with, but she was reassigned to a new planner after she had reserved the venue. The replacement planner was very difficult to reach by phone and she was first introduced to my sister-in-law the day before her wedding.
Some of the complaints we had from the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception were:
1) Entry music for the wedding party at the ceremony was not playing as it was instructed by the bride and groom.
2) There weren t enough chairs at the ceremony for the guests in attendance.
3) Cocktail hour had an individual bar open for 160 guests in attendance.
4) The bride and groom never saw or heard from the wedding planner after she opened the doors to the reception.
5) The alcohol provided at the open bar was not what was ordered.
6) One of the family tables was short by two seats.
7) The kids' chicken tender meals at our table were not cooked. They were sent back to the kitchen and replacement meals were never sent out.
8) Quite literally the icing on the cake was that the staff never cut or served the wedding cake for the bride and groom. The cake had to be thrown out as it wasn t able to be stored or preserved with fresh strawberries in the filling.
Aside from another inconvenience, it was really just laughable at the point of checking out of the Resort. At the separate building where the father and stepmother of the bride were staying on the 6th floor, both elevators were out of service. We asked one of the staff members how long it had been and we were told that one went out today but the other had been out for around 5 months.
Extremely frustrated and aggravated with the whole process wouldn t even begin to justify the emotion they re feeling right now.
UPDATE: The bride and groom were contacted by Cricket Wagner from the Sirata regarding their experience and our concerns , and we do appreciate their willingness to address the issues we went through in a timely and considerate manner.
Location is amazing and their rooms are spacious. It is a great hotel for couples or families. The first time we stayed it was o.k., but we were on the first floor with no view. When we told the concierge this they upgraded our room for our second stay and it was beautiful. We can't wait to come back. Sirata is quickly becoming our home away from home.
Well I do hate to give a bad review to any hotel but I fell like I need to in this case
We just got back from our stay at this resort and it was very disappointing!
First the housekeeping was terrible
We had to ask 3 different times for bath towels they forgot to bring on 3 different days .
The shower was not cleaned when we checked in . Hair was seen eveywhere in the shower and each day it was not cleaned out . Bathrooms were very small and old.and now for what was the worst of it we found 4 coach roaches in our room over the period of our stay . We called and complained and they sent maintenance to spray the room but two days later we found another one and our last day another one :( hotel management did apologize but never offered us any compensation for our trouble until our very last night they offered another room . Nice but a little
Late .
This place is more like a hotel than a resort. The place allows dogs but we had to cut our fun time short to come back to our room because we got a complaint that our dog was barking. I came back so he wouldn't bark but heard the neighbors the whole time slamming things... The walls are thin..we came into the room with a broken toilet... and we were told to move our car so they can block off parking spaces....when we paid for parking... And parking is pretty full already.. Cant get in the pool because its WAY too crowded. Definitely will not be back.
I am giving a one star rating because the beds were comfortable. Upon check in our air conditioner didn't work. Was fixed the next day. We spent four nights, our room was not cleaned until after 6pm on three of those nights. It wasn't cleaned at all on the final night. We had to get towels as there were only two in the room on the first night, which I could normally excuse, but even on the days that the room was cleaned they took the used towels and didn't leave any towels. We had to call to request towels. I have never seen a hotel operate like this. I wouldn't recommend this resort.
We booked a room with them and could not travel due to restrictions from Covid -19. They have denied our refund and no one is answering the phone to give us a reason why we will not be receiving a refund. We plan on taking this to the news if we are not given a response back.
Love love this place. Fantastic location and rooms are nice and do is the staff at Harry's!
To be honest; I m not sure if the negative reviews are from a competitor or people on drugs. The check in process took 2 minutes. Room is beyond clean. For $73/night plus the resort fee I couldn t ask for anything better! This is certainly a 5 star resort.
Room had mold 2 queen beds when a king was requested 2 hours late on check in place was filthy in hallways & worse than a cheap dump motel! Service was lousy couldn't get a desk clerk who cared about the issues & charged a resort fee for no service!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!
The room was clean and so cute! The view from our balcony was beautiful!
It was nothing lime what we thought spent so much money to be disappointed
This place was amazing! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They are trying hard to make your stay safe and fun!
Wonderful accommodations. Pools areas are clean and well maintained. Staff is pleasurable and polite. Beach area is gorgeous! Love the FREE beach loungers. That's a huge plus! We will stay here again and we have stayed at several St Pete beach hotels/resorts.
Clean rooms, killer location. Beach is beautiful, security is great. My only issue is the front desk staff was pretty awful minus the older gentlemen who checked me in. I should also mention, the hallways were a mess in the morning after the guests partying, no urgency in cleaning the grounds, fully.
For what we paid, the value was certainly there. The suite was very nice, and the resort staff was nice and helpful. The premises of the resort are nice, especially on the beach patios. The pools were nice. The grounds were clean.
The restaurants were the downfall of the resort. I wasn't impressed with the resort restaurants, it gave a "government run" sort of vibe from the staff and quality of food. I heard 3 of 4 of our bartenders and servers complain about customers. The food was overpriced and not great, but they know that people will buy it out of convenience.
Amenities need work. Staff needs some niceness classes. But overall its good
Gina at Harry s (newly renovated part of the Sirata) is outstanding! We ve had the pleasure of being served by Gina multiple times in the past. She exceeded our expectations once again. 5 star service every. single. time. Bubbly personality, fantastic conversation and professional attitude. We felt as if we needed to let everyone reading this review know how we feel about her. Do yourself a favor and request Gina.
You will be amazed at how the updates have made this the best resort on St. Pete Beach! We enjoyed the grounds along with pool Cabana which you rent by the day. The rooms are clean and comfortable with very friendly staff.
My mom has been treating my family to a beach getaway at Sirata for 15 years or so, now. What does that say about how the place used to be? I was not disappointed when she took ill, and we needed to return home a day early. My room was missing an ice bucket and remote for the bedroom TV. The kitchenette was devoid of any utensils or dishes. If they removed these things bc of COVID, there should have been mention of it on their site. What's the point of having a kitchenette if there is nothing in it? Rum Runners was kind enough to lend me a knife and fork. There were tiny ants on the kitchen counter tops. What they were doing six stories up with no food source is beyond me. The kitchen had these little black spots on the ceiling. Eew. The gym remains closed, and the giant pool they just remodeled was closed. Closed! For days! So, every guest and his brother and his brother's kids were crammed in the tiny pool by RR's. I just stayed on the beach. The bed was not comfortable. I felt like I was sinking into a decade's worth of other bodies' contours. Again, eew. So, why three stars, you ask? The service desk people and the beach service people were very helpful and kind. And, the beach itself is GORGEOUS! and the grounds are well-maintained. So, if you're going for the beach experience, carry on. However, you may wish to down-grade your hotel expectations. Not sure we'll be back next year.
***online pics are deceiving***
Checked in late due to flight. Paul took his time coming out to the lobby to check me in. Room was disgusting. Smelled like mold and marijuana, floors were sticky, vents filthy, very damp with a loud dehumidifier that was working overtime. Asked to be moved but was told that nothing was available.
Next day we were moved to another room on same side. Smelled better but was just as disgusting.
Due to booking with Allegiant, nobody could cancel the reservation or upgrade.
Beach is nice. Umbrellas cost $20. Chairs are included in resort fee. Parking is a challenge every time you leave and come back. Restaurants are mediocre but are next to pools so fairly easy to order.
We stayed for 5 days. It s such a nice place, but so short staffed that this hotel is going to implode. All staff working so hard but exhausted and overwhelmed. Not enough staff at Harry s or in housekeeping, or front desk. Housekeeper in tears after being overworked and yelled at, restaurant staff just checked out due to being over worked and treated badly, tried to call front desk they just hang up on you. Every time I called even from my cell. Waited 45 to check in, than an hour later we waited an hour in line just to get keys.
This place was packed during our stay.. and being held up by a handful of overworked people. Hard to enjoy your hard worked vacation and not feel bad.. for them.
Too many guests and not with staff.
Staff was extremely nice and accommodating however, the rooms are tired and need updating badly. The pictures of the family suite are misleading. I upgraded in order to get bunk beds for the kids and they were very uncomfortable and housed in a room that looks like a jail cell. I would not recommend this room category even if you need extra beds. We pulled out the sofa bed and crumbs flew out of it too.
Building 4- The room had a disgusting strong smell of cigarette, the sheets were stained, and there was no garbage can. Horrible!!
This place was a fantastic stay! 8th floor looking out at the water was wonderful! Highly recommend! The room was nice with comfortable beds and a comfy couch. Sliding doors that open to let a lot of air in. Dehumidifier in room! 2 pools heated pools! Private beach is super nice as well. Wish the chairs and umbrellas on the beach would at least stay out til after sunset. Private parking so you don't have to worry about public taking parking spots. I would recommend this place again!
This hotel isn't even worth 2 stars, I will begin with the reception. When we booked our stay in this hotel they promised us to have sea view. We asked again at the reception and they were sure we had sea view. When we saw our room it was on the complete other side with no sea view at Al. When we asked they said that we where overbooked at that point I already had some thrust issues in this place. When we were done we went to the beach we paid for our beach beds in the first row. We sat for about 20 minutes until we had to go to the second, because a female paid double the amount. This was only on the first day you don't want to know what happened on our other days.
Am very disgusted with this place. I will never come back again!! Everyday it's something else!! We came here 3 and 4 years ago!! Was great!! Never again!!
I have twice Spent a week at this resort and had a wonderful time. The only reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that when our reservation was made we were told that our suite would be on the first floor and facing the beach. In reality we were on the third floor overlooking the parking lot. Also housekeeping was sporadic which in part was due to our being in and out of the room at many points of the day which admittedly made it difficult for the staff. The 2 times they were able to enter the room was fine as our needs were few, but they never restocked the coffee area. The room was perfect for our needs.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The beach is gorgeous and the pools, hot tub, and food services were all great. I was sorry to notice that the prices in the Compass Grill were significantly higher than last year, especially for dinner. This was a problem for some in our group so we ended up going elsewhere. Breakfast was good but the new menu is not as good as the old one was. Again a little expensive if you are traveling on a tight budget. Fortunately there are many great dining options in the area as well as a great little deli and a grocery store nearby.
Overall I had a fantastic stay and will stay at this resort again in the future.
Way too expensive for what you get. $40/ a day resort fee but you still have to pay an additional $20 to get an umbrella on the beach. Not sure what the fee was supposed to be for. Room only got cleaned once in the 5 days I was there, and that was after I called and complained about the day before. When they did come to clean, only twice, it was already 5 o clock and I was trying to get ready for dinner, showering and such. I can only drink decaf coffee, and called down several times to have decaf brought up and they brought up only regular coffee. Ants, ants and more ants. Found ants everyday in my bathroom, where there is no food. Also on the balcony and by the front door. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Great place to stay with the family. Great and to the beach, pools and local restaurants. Only complaints would be beach towels can be short supply and XBox room has a bunch of bad devices that don't work.
We had a family suite that had a separate bedroom with bunk beds for the kids. We had a full kitchen for cooking most meals, but also ordered room service. The food was amazing, fast and hot. Our suite had a great view. The staff is great. We definitely recommend Sirata Beach Resort.
My room smells like pure cigarette. Bed sheets where all stain. No garbage can in the entire room.
Great all inclusive property on the beach. Get a room with Oceanview
