Had my furnace and ac replaced, great team that did the install. Very professional, Travis Speed was lead. I had incorrect water heater installed and was unsafe, they gave me a few options to make everything correct. A+

The entire experience was great! From the quote with Dan through the installation with Marshall and Nathan everyone was very professional and did exactly what they said they would do. Communication throughout was outstanding as well. I appreciate great customer service and Schaal has it figured out.
We had an outstanding experience with Schaal Heating and Plumbing this week. They came to our home to install a new furnace and air conditioner, and we were extremely impressed with all that they did. When I purchased a new heating and cooling system from Schaal, I also purchased eight years of maintenance. Every six months, THEY call me to schedule the service appointment. I love that they take the initiative for the appointments.
Today, it's subzero weather and our house was 48 degrees. Dave Cleek, senior technician, arrived within 2 1/2 hours of my call. He shared that Schaal called in extra help because they are so swamped. Dave was terrific and my house is warming up again. The issue was not the furnace---but rather user error --as I accidentally shut it off. Every interaction that I have had with Schaal beginning with the sales call has been very positive! I highly recommend Schaal.
I had schaal come out to check both of my ac units. First of all, he came late. Then he looked at only our bigger ac unit. Then he told me I need to fix a bunch of stuff that would cost almost $5,000 for the one unit! He spoke a lot of technical jargon, the capacitor, coils, Freon, etc. which it seemed to me that he was trying to use scare tactics to get me to buy a whole new ac unit because obviously I don t know HVAC jargon. In his explanations he said a lot of, if this goes bad, then this could happen , not that it was bad or broken already. So how could he speculate when or if it will go bad? I have heard of the technicians getting a bonus for referring people to purchase new HVAC units. I don t know if this is the case, but the technician was quick to set up an appointment for me to look at purchasing new units. Technicians should only be there to diagnose and tell you what s wrong, not try to sell you a new unit. I asked if he checked the smaller unit and he said he didn t because he didn t know we had 2 units (even though both units are right next to each other?). I asked how long it would take and he said an hour, which was too long because we had to leave as he came late in the first place. So he never looked at the smaller ac unit while he was here, but still left the appointment to have the sales person come for me to purchase new units. He never offered to come back to check the smaller unit. I paid the $99 for the so called diagnostic check, which was only done on one of my units. About a week later, I got an email for a free ac diagnostic test. I contacted them and they actually gave me a refund for that cost. Then I got a second opinion. Best Heating and Cooling came out, looked at both of my units explained everything to me and got BOTH units up and running for less than $500! What a huge difference in service! I would not recommend Schaal and would go with Best Heating and Cooling or at least get a second opinion and see the difference for yourself!
Matthew, Travis, and John completed an incredible installation. They were professional and efficient. The explanation for the installation and operation was excellent.
Chris, Benton and Travis were great! They were on time, friendly (even though my dog acted as though she would eat them), and carefully walked me through the functions of my new A/C unit. So far everyone at Schaal has been great!
Pete did an excellent job in diagnosing the problem and fixing it. Also elaborated on future solutions as our home systems are aging would need future maintenance. Pete talked straight forward and no BS. Felt confident in his recommendations and made sure I understood what needed to be done. Great guy!

Replaced my hvac system and water heater. Jeff did a great job explaining everything and my different options for systems. Nate and Dylan did a great job on the install and explaining everything once the job was finished. I am happy with how smooth everything went and my new system. The house seems to be a lot warmer even in my basement.
I've had multiple services from plumbing to HVAC. The techs have always courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough. The estimates they provide are well within reason for the high quality of work they perform.

Schaal has a great group of technicians. We had a large 2 day repair of our GEO. There was a total of 5 technicians (3 the first day, 2 the second day) They were all very professional, personable and meticulous. They had a few minor set backs, and instead of rushing (day 2 was on a Friday), they worked very hard to get it right. Then they explained everything they did. I also love how Schaal texts you a pic of the technician when they are on the way. It s a nice added sense of security, especially if you are home alone. I also want to give a shout out to the lady who answers the phone. I feel bad that I can t recall her name, but she is the sweetest! Thank you Schaal for hiring great employees!
AC down. Inside temp registered 89 degrees, no breeze & high humidity. Several reputable companies contacted but they either didn't answer the phone or wouldn't be able to come out for another two days. Schaal was at the house within 7 hours. Schall's office staff & Repair Technician, Matt B was very courteous, knowledgable, informative & efficient! Matt is just a good guy! Appreciated his honest, straight forward communications! I was getting estimates on a new heating and cooling system with a couple company's after sitting down with Ryan he explained everything to my wife and I without being pressured to buy. I would definitly recommend him for your heating and cooling system needs.

Our consultant Jeff was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He addressed all of our concerns and explained in detail what the process was, why it was necessary, and what the end result would be. We were impressed with explanation of how thorough the cleaning was going to be! Jeff even went above and beyond showing how to get a stuck air filter out and how to put a new one in. I felt very trusting of him and very happy with the service recieved. The customer service reps were also very kind. We didn't hear Jeff knock the first time he came, so we called back to set up a new time and the customer service reps communicated with Jeff. He was able to make it back right away. Again, great service across the board.

Very through, calculated our needs, and submitted 4 different systems and there prices. Explained the difference between each proposal. Also provided optional services. Schaal answered my urgent call at 7:00 on Saturday morning. Techs Chaz and Aaron were here the same morning. They diagnosed the problem, discussed it with me, gave me a reasonable quote, got the part, installed it, showed me the bad part. I agreed to start a maintenance agreement and they did the most thorough furnace maintenance I ve seen (I d been paying for a much less thorough job with another local company yearly for 15 years). Explained the process well. Ready for them to maintain our AC next spring. That spells excellent service to us!

Billie has been on service calls before to my house and she has always been friendly, detailed, and professional. Recently she spent a good amount of time ensuring her initial diagnosis was correct. She examined all possible causes, tested indicators, very thorough and there was NO CHARGE for diagnostics. I've only use Schaal for 23 years because I have always felt they were the most professional, reliable, and did quality work. The gesture to not charge for diagnostic visits during COVID is an amazing gesture. I really appreciate Billie and the other Technicians for their assistance through the years.
The technician that helped me was Jordan ,however when I looked him up he was not found on there site. I liked how he was very informative about what was wrong with my heater but I did not appreciate how he did extra testing just to try and unwell to me when he was done.
From repair to sale of new system to installation, very satisfied and impressed with every person we have dealt with through our experience. I would highly recommend.

Chad, Nate and Nathan came out today and installed my new furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater. They did a wonderful job and their work areas were left cleaner than before the install. When I panicked because the air conditioner seemed so big, Nate answered my questions and reassured me it would be quite than my old one. It is!! Chan answered my questions regarding the furnace, hot water heater and helped me better understand the surge protector. He also took a picture of it and wrote Happy Birthday for me! Dylan and Scott were the guys who came to install my new furnace. They were both very professional and did the job quickly. I hardly noticed the were here working. The 2 gentleman that helped me the day before (don't recall their names) were also great. Everyone I've dealt with in this company has been great. They are very quick to come to help. My problems started 1/11 and were taken care of by 1/12.
We have loved every encounter we've had with technicians with Schaal, but today with Jason was beyond great! My 4 year old boys were so excited someone was coming to the house and they couldn't wait to say "good morning" So when Jason arrived they were immediately full of questions and wanting to talk to him. They wanted hugs, and Jason was so great and gave them hugs and high fives. He took the time to ask each of them their names and then called them by their names the whole time. He was here for routine maintenance and cleaning, so not much interaction needed but he was so friendly. One of my boys gets very upset easily and one thing that bothers him is when people won't talk to him/ answer his questions.... Jason took the time to talk with my son and answer his questions about our furnace as he was working, as well as questions about himself that my son asked. He told me it was completely fine and he didn't mind, and he never acted like he minded. We were all very impressed! Thank you schaal for always giving us good experiences, but especially thank you Jason for going above and beyond today!

We ve had two appts over 2 business days. Both techs were on time, friendly, and considerate or my home and my time. So far, so good! Edited: install day went well! Took two weeks from the first appointment to get the install completed, which was disappointing; apart from that, it s been a stress-free experience.
Very professional. From start to finish the process was easy and went without a hitch. Any questions we had were answered quickly. When it came time for the install and duct cleaning they left the work area in great standards. I highly recommend Schaal for your heating and cooling needs.

I had a great experience with Schaal to replace my furnace, AC, and water heater. It was a huge job as the existing furnace was massive and very heavy. I had Marshall and Benton working on the job. They had their hands full with a complex job that included creativity and troubleshooting. They worked hard all day and were very friendly even though it took them over 12 hours. I would recommend them to friends and family as they did a great job.
Chaz explained an issue with my furnace, reminding me of the warranty so as to get the work done now - also talked about a few other services and explained the process plus answered questions I had not asked yet! What a fantastic asset Joey is to Schaal! He was extremely intelligent in knowing and explaining all the aspects of the issues and maintenance he performed on our systems. His customer service attitude was most obvious from the moment he entered the door. Window was set between 8am and 9am, I received a call that Billie would be at my home at 8. 7:50am rolls around and here comes my tech even earlier. Nothing but great service since Schaal installed my unit a year ago. Will continue to use them and reference them to friends and family!
We had a complete system installed with duct work. Ryan did a great job walking through options and was really knowledgeable. Todd managed the install and was exceptional. Very high quality install. We would definitely hire them again!
Hayden did an excellent job fixing what another local company did not attend to during their service only 3 weeks earlier, that caused a downstairs flooding situation, which left me with a tremendous bill in flood damage, which occurred while we were up at Mayo for several days. The company who I paid for the regular service, would not come until Monday even though I pleaded with them, my downstairs was being flooded by the issue. Schaal came out during off hours and took care of the situation promptly and professionally.
I'm rating them a 3, not because of the service technician, but because they rescheduled me 2 times for my first checkup, after spending $8,500, and then missed my 1 to 3 timeslot. I had to call them to see what's going on. They said they were "running behind", in which I replied they should have called and told me. They finally got a technician to my house a little after 4pm. The technician was great and they did give me a free filter for the hassle. If it wasn't for the technician and great job he did, I would have rated them a 1 or 2.
Update on 11/26/2019-Had the second visit and all went well. The service technician, Jason, explained what he was doing for each check and answered all my questions. Jason gets a 5 star, but I have to leave my original rating of 3 stars due to all the issues before.
July 31, 2020 - Matt B. just tuned up my 3 almost 4 year old GEO unit, which he replaced some major components within last years. Matt is very patient & a pleasure to visit with while he does his precision work. Don't mean to sound weird, but actually kinda look forward to having Matt B. maintain my GEO. He tossed me hints to look for when my warranty expires & may end up needing work done later?
Anthony did a wonderful, quick job replacing water heater gave me options, to wait or do it now. 19 year old water heater, got many more years than expected from it, so bought new one. Great resale option when selling home some day. He did entire job alone, wheeling old up stairs on his own. Cleaned up. Great job Anthony .
