Perfect location! Plenty to do in the area but I only left the resort once! Great dining options on site, fun for the kids, peaceful enough for couples and great staff!

Pretty crowded. Beds weren't the most comfortable but the location on the beach was nice.
We held a large conference at the Hilton in May of 2014 and experienced a less than cooperative attitude from sales and management in resolving our final bill per the contract. The initial sales representative inflated the room nights that we originally discussed. We didn t catch the error and subsequently had to pay the penalty per the contract. Our initial sales representative departed the Hilton and was not able to add clarity to the issue. We attempted to explain our position and were basically stonewalled by management who never answered or acknowledged receipt of our correspondence.
Morale of story don t be pressured into quickly signing a contract; if you find a discrepancy, deal with it immediately; don t expect the Hilton to listen to your side of the story; or expect them to answer personal letters sent to the General Manager and Sales Manager; or to return scheduled phone calls
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The Hilton will not get another chance to do better. Rude and inconsiderate behavior in handling our issue.
MR in Denver, CO
Great beach and bar scene. Some good food available on property as well.
Second year in a row here, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommended.
In the area for 2 months so have stayed in several properties and this was by far the biggest disappointment. Hallway and elevator carpets were always dirty. Took forever for hot water in the AM and according to front desk it s just the way it is and can take up to 20 minutes. Pretty bad when you are here to work in support of the recent disaster and cannot take a morning shower. No lobby coffee or anyway to have breakfast when you leave early as most workers do. But breakfast was a joke anyway even for Diamond members. HVAC system thumps on and off and it s pretty loud. Here s what really got us- on Tuesday we lost all water in the room- neighbors asked us if we had water- no, so I went to the desk who told us there was scheduled renovations until appx 1pm and water had to be turned off . Why the heck didn t they warn us???? Heard another couple was mid shower when they lost water and when they complained to the manager they got yet another story that it was an emergency water issue. So who s telling the truth?
In reality this is tying to be a resort but it s nothing lore than a gated family with kids hotel on the beach. For business travelers I do not recommend it and Hilton should really look into the management at this hotel. Way too worn out and mismanaged for the price. Some staff were awesome but being lied to by a manager for an excuse to fail to notify guests of a planned water outage is not good.
Lastly- do not bother with the lobby restaurant/sushi bar. It was disgustingly low budget and poorly prepared.
Will not go back nor recommend.
Always a great visit. Friendly front desk staff, hard working valet and baggage carriers. We usually go three times a year for conferences and we've always had wonderful service from everyone there.
My family and I stayed here July, 2018. We waited all day for our room to be cleaned. At around 3:00 pm, we went to the beach thinking that our rooms would be cleaned while we were gone. We returned around 6:00. Our dirty towels had been removed. That is all that was done. We were not given clean towels, the sand was not swept out of the bathroom, and the beds were poorly made. My grandbabies could not rinse the sand off of themselves because no towels were left. I called the front desk, and they sent towels two hours later. I called back and asked for a manager to call me back. No one ever called. When I returned home, I emailed a letter to the hotel detailing my problems while on vacation. I included my contact information. No one contacted me. We will be returning this year because it's my granddaughter's birthday, and insisted that we go there. If there is a repeat of the terrible service that I received last time, this will be our last trip.****************Update: The person who monitors these reviews asked me to send an email to Hilton Sandestin to give more details about my visit. I did as I was asked and provided my contact information. I was not contacted by anyone from Hilton Sandestin. That concern was purely for the internet.
It gets a star for location, free wifi, amenities and that's it.
Service is not even worth a star. Rooms are in fair condition, need a little bit of updating but my major problem was the mold smell which I felt as soon as I walked in the room.
25$ per day as a resort fee
They advertise free breakfast/ beach set up and drink vouchers but when you get there you pay for everything, including 39$/day for beach chairs and umbrella.
Beautiful hotel. We've stayed twice. It would get a five star but last time I stayed out complimentary room up grade to beach view went horrible. We stayed on the 7th floor as we're awaken at 4 am to some awful noise that couldn't be located or accounted for. When I discussed it with hotel staff they knew there had been a problem and engineers have been looking into it and they still don't know what is causing it.
Been here 4 years in a row for a work related conference. 3 of which we were given a room above the pools rather than rooms in the emerald towers with beach views (as our reservation indicated). This year, our first morning and we had to take cold showers as there was no hot water... Frankly, I expect far better from Hilton.-& We're Hilton Honors members
Great vacation resort. We spent a week with our family and everything was awesome. We will come back next year !
Pretty good Easter brunch. Something you should try out
Fantastic location for a beach wedding with several ballrooms, a large facility, and several amenities immediately at the hotel and the surrounding area.
Pretty overrun, kid haven. Room not well cared for/stocked/laundered, and humid, musty smell. No sound through bunk TV on certain channels. Everything is is generally dirty in public areas, common area trash can was seen overflowing onto the floor. Lobby is absolutely freezing- no toilet paper was in the public bathroom near the lobby, raw bar TVs are terrible- understaffed so service was lacking. Poor girl was trying her hardest. Then saw a cockroach in the lobby near raw bar. No one else was too helpful beyond absolute necessity. Internet password/access instructions provided were incorrect. Carpet in room was still wet from being cleaned.(I hope) Carpet fans are in the hallway. Tourist super trap... and this is day 1. Imagine low-end budget cruise ship and you re on to what this place is like. First visit and so far definitely my last.
I apologize for the delay in posting this and I realize in the environment we find ourselves with the current covid siutaion response times and staffing can be low or challenging for many businesses but I have been trying to get a review posted through Hilton so that the employees I encountered are not only recognized but are rewarded for their customer service. I can freely admit that the initial survey they sent me after my stay was an option but the link expired before I could rate my stay and leave a review and so I tried to get it resent but that proved not to be a viable option at the time. Alas I am left with this option hoping their boss or managers read my post.
A little background for reference, not that it should matter in regards to maintaining service standards for excellence for customer service, but I am a Diamond level Hilton member and I am am an elite level member in several other loyalty reward programs. I travel extensively for business and vacation purposes. I recently visited the Hilton Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort in Sandestin, Florida. From the moment we pulled up from the guard gate, parking, restaurants, bars, poolside and beach every employee we encountered were very pleasant and attentive to our needs. At the front desk we primarily encountered Haley Warren, Jennifer Sims, and Cagney Valloch. Please forgive any misspellings. Matt Olsen is the front office manager so hopefully he gets this message. While each was very pleasant and went out of their way to help us Haley Warren was especially attentive throughout our stay. She not only made sure we were happy with our accommodations she offered us variable options that she was more than willing to try to help accomplish for us depending on what our needs were at the time. Haley also checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We had such an enjoyable time we decided to extend our stay to which again Haley handled and made sure we were not inconvenienced at all including having to move rooms etc.. We were very well taken care of and I would recommend if traveling close to the area and the opportunity presents itself staying at this resort. Haley and staff thanks again for the wonderful stay and experience.
P.S.
While yes I have stayed at this property before and I am familiar with the area something I failed to comment or focus on is that combined with the covid situation there was also a tropical storm hurricane weather type event occurring during part of this stay as well so her and their the staff s outstanding customer service means even more given the circumstances.
Great accommodations. Full service hotel. I have stayed here many times and have never disappointed.
we have stayed here a few times but this time was no where near as nice as normal. I understand each room is individually owned so its up to the owner to renovate but the sound of the water heater and the ac was horrible. The ac was so loud with it kicked on and when it was off the water heater sounded like someone didn't turn the faucet off all the way. With as much as you pay for 1 night I expect more. When I talked to the front desk about it they just said if we decide to stay there again we can try to get a upgraded room but its not a guarantee. I don't need updated I just need a room where I can sleep without hearing what sounded like the sink running all night. This was at Baytowne Wharf.
I cant believe I've missed this Gem sitting on a beautiful private beach in Destin. The rooms are nice, the restaurants are really good and surprisingly reasonable, the customer service and support is awesome! Jerrina answered questions via phone before my arrival and checked up on me via text after my arrival. This was a last minute getaway for my daughter's birthday and it was a great choice! I cant wait to visit again!
Great place for medium sized corporate events. Everything necessary in one property.
The service is top notch. The rooms are very nice and clean. I had the perfect view from my room.
Great resort. Most of everything you need is on site. Close to other amenities as well, Publix, shopping, and restaurants. Free shuttle to Baytowne shops and restaurants as well.
Awesome place. Great Beach awesome pools. Great staff. Good restaurant's. Fun place.
Our extended family of eight from three different cities just returned home from a three night stay this week end at the Hilton Sandestin. We had a wonderful time and I would like to comment too on the hotel staff as everyone there was friendly, thoughtful, helpful, energetic, courteous and always smiling. Malia at the front desk was especially helpful during our stay. Malia went the extra mile in accommodating our requests! The food and service at Barefoots was great too. Our family had at least three great meals there as well. The Concierge desk, Activities desk, Housekeeping were all great. The hotel breakfast buffet was fabulous & our waitresses were helpful and attentive too. However, I realized when I got on my flight headed home that I did not have my camera. I re-traced my steps in my mind and called Monday morning and was put through to Maddie Bell in security. I gave her the description of the camera and she located my camera in their lost & found closet. The hotel is shipping the camera to me today. I had accidentally left the camera in the front lobby and it was turned in to the front desk. So many thanks to either very attentive staff or a kind guest! So happy to be getting our camera back with all our wonderful memories of our family reunion at the Hilton Sandestin as well! We will come back!!
The staff was professional and friendly. Great experience overall. We will definitely come again. Amazing view and beautiful resort. We loved it!
The condo was beautiful (4-5 stars), but the service was deplorable. Spent $50 to have a phone overnighted. It arrived at the facility at 9:00 a.m. Wonderful! Except it took 11 hours for the resort to find it, so didn't receive it until after 8:00 pm!!! No apologies, no offer of a refund for the overnight fee, no nothing. If it hadn't been for one young man who took it upon himself to make it his "mission" to find it, I highly doubt I would have ever even received it. Kudos to him, but I will NEVER stay here again. My 2 traveling companions agreed completely.
This was our second time staying here. Nice beach. Breakfast was good but very crowded...get there early.
Enjoyed my room and my stay, my one complaint is the outrageous food and drink prices for food that is Average food. I ate at the in house Sushi restaurant and was not impressed, the sushi fell apart before I could dip it in soy sauce.
I always love Hilton Sandestin and will continue to be a returning guest, but this was the first time I experienced bad customer service. I got there very late about 2am and when I went to check in it was like I had woke up the front desk agent and she was not friendly. When she came from the back she just said "Yes?" Never said a single friendly word, no thanks for staying with is, didnt give me our arm bands for the pool the next day so had to wait in a line for about 30 minutes the next morning to get them. She needs some customer service training or might just need to find another job better suited for her.
A very special thank you to Reed F and Christian G. They made my stay enjoyable and were extremely accommodating and helpful given such short notice. Beautiful room, with a great view, along with plenty of amenities that make this a very desirable destination choice. They have a spa, golfing course within walking distance, a tram that runs every 20-30 minutes to nearby restaurants and outlet, and is situated in a gated community with security. However, I am extremely disappointed in the manner in which I was charged a $75 late fee checkout from Dawn Lucas. I am an Hilton Honors member and my room was without any heat the entire night. No one checked on the room, despite several inquires. I was freezing and slept for only a few hours. I asked for a late checkout to rest and have never had a problem with late checkouts before, even when hotels are at full occupancy. It wasn't so much the charge that bothered me but rather the manner and attitude I received regarding it. It was unprofessional and came across as extremely rude. Dawn almost seemed to take delight in charging the late fee, something that I felt extremely off putting. For those who see these, I caution you to be aware of their late checkout policies, especially if you are a Hilton Honors member, because I am now less hesitant to book my stay there again. Outside of that, this is a phenomenal hotel. The aforementioned gentleman at the front desk did an excellent job at accommodating all sorts of requests. I cannot say the same for other person mentioned. I hope management takes that into consideration.
We stayed here over the labor day weekend. The beach was so close to us, as soon as we walked outside, it was already there. The room we was in was clean, although would be nice if it had more light.
Be awared it is on the expensive side, 2 night for over $1200 for a 2 bedroom? It could be the holiday price but we did enjoy our stay over all ! Would definitely stay here again
We have been delightfully impressed. We requested and received an upgrade to a beach front room. It is worth the extra. The staff has been friendly and responsive.
Really nice resort, lots to do. The candy store in baytowne has amazing chocolate! The beach was nice a little seaweedy
Great location on the bay. Easy access with tram to beach and Baytown. .
Very nice beach. Grounds well maintained. Friendly & helpful staff. Indoor and outdoor pools. Outdoor bar has a large selection of frozen drinks. Indoor pool open past midnight. Drinks and food were great but slightly pricey.
Junior suite roomy. Only complaint-A/C was working hard and room had slight musty odor.
This is an excellent hotel, nice rooms and beautiful ocean views. Hotel staff is very friendly, the breakfast buffet is great! Try the omelets.
We absolutely loved our stay here! Beautiful views, tram rides, and so much more!
Didn't want to carry bags to room. So I took them all with wife and 2 kids. They didn't give us wrist bands at check in so we got in trouble for not wearing them. Wife stepped on glass around pool and cut her foot. Not the most pleasant experience.
Great facilities. Golf course was well tended to. I'll be back next year!
We have always loved this hotel but our last few visits have noticed that the rooms are slowly declining, in bedding and they smell awful. Totally understand that it is a beach hotel, but the mildew smell is now overwhelming.
visiting for the weekend showed me RACISM lives... ADD THIS TO THE LIST. Places that are unwelcoming for black people. I was offered horrible service.. and placed in the worst back side room. With no Workin microwave, bad plumping & being woke up to hammering. Because they were doing remodeling in the room next door. Spoke with the corporate office.. whom offered no assistance. And sent me right back to the racist manager.. They did nothing to accommodate my horrible stay. I would not recommend this place to my people.. GO WHERE YOUR KIDS AND MONEY ARE VALUED.. Hilton is not it.. RACIST RACIST RACIST.
Wonderful experience. Quiet, secure and relaxing. Watch the sunrise on beach, you will not be disappointed.
We stayed the weekend for our marriage retreat. Over 400 couples and everything went smooth. The hotel was excellent. Our room was beautiful. The balcony view was simply breath taking. The room was clean and the hospital was spotless. The food was also good. We plan on booking again for my son's birthday. There was also a fireworks show that was planned by the church, and it went off perfectly.
Everything was amazing!!! The entire staff was accommodating, patient, knowledgeable and friendly. The room was breathtaking and super clean! The view was heavenly!!! It was well worth the price we paid! I cant wait to go back!!!
They didn't have towels at the pool and they would not give towels to you for your room you had to call before you could get towels for your room
Destin is a vibe! The resort was huge and is broken up into small subdivisions. I will definitely be back!
We stayed here and number of times and I finally decided to write a review. Even though Destin could be very busy with a lot of traffic, once you go through the gate and the guard shack, everything changes on property and a hectic life is left behind the gate. The Hotel lobby is newly renovated and done very upscale. We stayed in a Junior suite couple of times and really enjoyed it, the room is a very large size with two bunkbeds as you come into the room, There s a nicely remodeled bathroom with a tub and shower plus another staying outside the bathroom. Our room had a king size bed with the large sofa and a beautiful nice balcony overlooking the pool and the gulf. The room also includes a mini fridge and a microwave. Definitely will stay here again.
Great service. Clean rooms. The grounds are beautiful. Will visit again.
Great trip went for an event beaches are clean and beautiful.
We loved the beach and the property is run well. No problems. Will try to come back soon!
Great location and beach. Hurricane Nate hit while we were here but cleared up in a couple of days. The Beach was back to normal and all was well. Great beach service! We paid $39 for a beach set up that was well worth it. (2 chairs, umbrella and towels). You can buy them cheap at Alvins Island but didn't want to bother carrying them back and forth through the hotel. Drinks and food at beach were very good.
Fun for the whole family, quiet and private, clean and tidy, excellent amenities!
Hotel is nice, but customer service is the worst. On this trip my family of 4 dined on the property 5 times and had only 1 average experience...others left us upset. From bad service to bad food, they have it all. Worst was we were in the lobby restaurant with 8 tvs and only 3 people. We are big sec fans and asked to turn on sec game. Manager said no, schedule is fixed. Really? Even when you have more tvs than people? We left and bar/restaurant cleared. Bad business moves Hilton family. You make me disappointed. I travel with Hilton very regularly and this experience will make me shop elsewhere!!!
Great customer service and a beautiful hotel. It will be much better once all of the construction is done too.
One of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. Ms. Lauren at the front desk immediately made us feel at home with her warm smile, caring attitude and pleasant personality. Would highly recommend this resort for anyone visiting the fabulous beach of Destin, FL.
The rooms are nice and clean. The beaches are great... But we refuse to stay at this resort again. Very unorganized and the staff have no idea what's going on where and how in this resort. If you lose your key FORGET going to the same building where you stay. You have to WALK across a busy highway to the samr place where you checked in (because you cant get on a shuttle if you dont have a key) and then attempt to get a key. The people driving the shuttles were rude. The grounds had trash everywhere and we paid EXTRA money for a nice room with a waterfront patio. It's not worth the money.
Stayed Memorial Day weekend 2017. Beaches were crowded as to be expected. The beach side bars were busy but took great care of us. We played golf on the Baytowne Course and had a great time! Pace of play was great for a holiday weekend. We stayed on property to eat all meals - no need to leave and fight the crowds in town. Overall an excellent experience as always. Highly recommended as a vacation destination!
Very nice, beach is gorgeous. Outdoor pool overlooking beach.
If you're a FSU fan or ACC for that matter, then prepare to maybe have one small TV while SEC gets the rest. What I'm saying is don't plan to watch FSU at the hotel if you stay there.
Great location , over priced good service horrible and expensive food! Good rooms slightly dated
The Hilton is an outstanding resort. The grounds are wonderful. Its sits on the white powdered sand beach in Sandestin, Florida and is centrally located to shopping, restaurants, sites and other popular towns. Their Covid safety procedures are worth noting. Once a room is cleaned it's sealed with a notice that it has been completely sanitized. The only time the seal is broken is by the room occupants. Once a room is occupied no staff is allowed in the room, so there is no chance of cross contamination by room service. The occupants are safe. If they need anything they call room service and its dropped off outside the door. You can't get safer than that.
Suggestions. Put the limit of people sign on the elevator door and 3 circles would be nice on the floor. I was there 2 weeks ago and no one obeyed the elevator rules.
I had a wonderful experience. I met people from far and near. It was a very relaxing atmosphere! I would love to go again!
I came for a professional conference. The location is beautiful. There are great options for local eateries and restaurants. Staff was exceedingly professional and helpful.
The location was perfect, service was amazing, but the rooms aren't the best if the best.
Have stayed in this resort 4 times now and the family has enjoyed it very much each time. After several visits we have found The Bungalows to be our favorite area to stay in the resort. Be sure to make sure the Bungalow you rent has a golf cart for use during your stay however as that is definitely the best way to get to all of the amenities. We like to go to Baytown Warf area for dining and the 4 golf courses are very well maintained and fun for the golfers in our group.
