I was expecting more from a Sandals resort and what we paid. The grounds and beach were immaculate. At least 5 different restaurants to choose from. Several differnet upscale bars to relax in. A private island in front of the resort. Beautiful beaches and non motorized craft included. Some of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was very good. Now on to the not so good. About 50% of the staff were not friendly. The mini bar was not restocked. No waiters on the beach or pool barring the the pool bar. Reception was confusing. We were lead to 3 lobbys when we arrived.

Got a day pass for this Sandals as an excursion and everything was included, the food, drink, and activities. Their little private island was so serene. We can't wait to come back someday!
Most of the staff were great. The all inclusive was a great price but they make up for that in how much the spa & pictures cost. Food was good for the most part. The drive shop next to the Windsor tower were pretty rude and not inviting. Loved the swim up bars and sunset bar on the pier. Also wish someone would have mention that I needed to bring PANTS. You'll need them to get into some of their restaurants. I had to go out and buy pants. The gift shop had literally 2 pairs and none were my size, which forced me to shop elsewhere.
Unbelievable I've traveled the world never new my best experience would be right at home now I see why tourist love my country if they visit Sandals it will surly be their new home away from home . Thanks to everyone one staff and management that made this stay a lifetime memorable stay and vacation right in my backyard .
Ashandie, my wedding planner was awesome. You made my day very beautiful and stress free. I will recommend you for any couples thinking about a destination wedding. Thank you so much.
Great, beautiful and above all quiet resort the only flaw is the evening that at 10 o'clock it all ends, here totally relaxing spacious rooms for restaurants is not bad.
I can't thank the team at Sandals enough for making our wedding the most memorable, stress-free and romantic time of our lives. We invited 21 guests to the resort with us and chose to do the free wedding with a few upgrades, including the Wine Makers menu, which is a 6-course meal with wine pairings, and a few pieces of decor such as charger plates and extra lighting. We were assigned Niquet and Jodia as our pre-wedding planners leading up to our arrival. In the year before the wedding, we had a few conference calls where Niquet guided us through all the decisions and associated costs for our wedding, providing all the necessary documents and clear instructions. She was always accessible via email for any questions and answered promptly. Closer to the wedding, we worked with Jodia who confirmed all the details and made sure we had checked everything off before arrival. Once we arrived onsite, we were greeted by the wedding planning team who provided us with our appointments for meeting with our onsite wedding planner, Ashandie. Everything was so automatic and easy - we really just had to show up! Ashandie was PHENOMENAL!! She took us to a few locations around the resort so we could select where we would have the ceremony (we chose to do it on the beach on the far end of the property for a bit more privacy, which was perfect!), our private welcome dinner (we did it on the pool deck at sunset and it was gorgeous), and our reception dinner (we did this on the sand volleyball court by the beach, which was also so perfect). She also went above and beyond to schedule another dinner for our guests on the day they arrived at Kimonos, which we hadn't planned on but was truly a great ice-breaker for our families and friends to meet. And she created a beautiful itinerary that she slipped under the doors of each our guests when they arrived so everyone had the most up-to-date schedule and location of events. It was beyond professional and accommodating. We didn't have a rehearsal of the ceremony but again, we had nothing to worry about as the officiant provided all the instructions to everyone throughout the ceremony, from when our parents should come up, to the exchange of the rings and our vows (we chose to write our own), to the sand ceremony and signing of documents - everything! We barely had to think! Christian managed the welcome dinner and reception dinner beautifully, always ensuring all the plates were delivered hot and in sync so no one had to wait very long for everyone to be served. He choreographed the dinners perfectly and we're so grateful to him for managing all the details so well. We also didn't provide a list of songs but the DJ read our group and chose the perfect songs based on how our guests were reacting to the music and special requests they made. He managed to get us all up and dancing at the end of the dinner - it was such a great way to end the wedding! We also stayed at the resort after the wedding for our honeymoon and throughout the week we were there, Ashandie occasionally called to check up on us and ensure we didn't need anything - it was beyond any service I've ever experienced - so thoughtful! Our guests raved about the whole experience, from arrival to the wedding, and beyond. This was far and beyond the best service, food, hospitality and professionalism I've ever experienced! I can't believe how stress-free the whole experience was and how beautiful everything turned out. I HIGHLY recommend this resort for a destination wedding - the team here really knows what they're doing and are clearly experts at every detail. I also want to give a shout-out to "Michael the Poet" who was an amazing server at the Royal Cafe restaurant and was incredibly funny and friendly. He made us all laugh with his singing and was a joy to see at the resort each day. Quite literally, every single staff member at the resort was incredibly friendly and approachable and very helpful. You could walk up to anyone with a question and they would help you happily. This was truly a 5-star resort through and through.
Very Nice. Some staff members didn't seem friendly. Also ordered Coke on two different occasions with a meal and never received them. Also the resort sent our luggage to some other room when we first arrived. Otherwise, we had a fun relaxing time.
Update: Our trip was 10 years ago and since then I had an accident with a chainsaw where I had to have my hand put back together by a surgeon. What does this have to do with our trip, nothing, but even after the chainsaw incident, our week at the resort still ranks as the worst week of my life.
Worst week of my life. Food poisoning for both my wife and myself, there was what appeared to be vomit in the pool, feral cats around the resort, game room looked like an abandoned after school recreation room and our dinner reservation that we paid a hefty extra for was delayed two hours while we sat there with no food. In response to the food poisoning, they did send a nurse over to administer an anti-nausea medication, but it may might have just been the cleaning staff with a syringe of water. Possibly a used one because my wife had to go right to the hospital when we landed back home because the injection site was infected and she couldn't walk.
Do yourself a favor, take the $5,000 you were going to spend on this trip, burn it and stay home.........you're welcome.
What can I say besides top notch?! Our stay was just wonderful and a dream! A huge part of our awesome stay was our butler Samuel!!! All of them were great, but he really did go above and beyond to make our stay perfect!! Highly recommend.
Can't say enough good about this place. Went for our ten year anniversary and it was awesome. Tons to do. On site night club, several restaurants. Definitely make a reservation for the hibachi restaurant - definitely an experience!
This hotel does not count its high price .. Staff unfriendly and slow, got a room on the 6th floor (higher quality room) above the laundry where noise or an annoying beeping could be heard around the clock. (can also be solved differently) Air conditioning way too loud TV doesn't work as it should Eat normally Beach location not as described (no extensive beach)
Will not book another vacation at a Sandals Resort. A joke for this price range.
This is a nice mid to upper tier all inclusive resort. It works great wit you want to drink and have a good time. I didn't think the food was anything special and when tips are included service can be so-so but overall I had a good time at Sandals
I am planning my wedding here and this place is by far the worst place to plan a wedding. They have assigned a " DEDICATED COORDINATOR" to my fiance and I, however every time we contact her it will take her 2 days to respond and every time its because she is on vacation... I dont understand why they dont have a backup or someone to respond since they are "DEDICATED COORDINATOR". I dont understand why kind of business they are running here, that the dedicate coordinator has to ask me multiple times when my wedding is, which resort it is at and so on... to top it off Sandals is the worst place to have your wedding at since every service has to be offer through them and if they can not offer that service, they make you have the person performing the service stay at the hotel for 3 days.. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever dealt with..
As for the service goes.. we visted the resort to get a trial hair and makeup done which paid $200 for and they didnt even finish the hair and makeup because that was just to show us how it may look and was left unfinished...
Then when it comes to quoting and pricing.. they send wrong quotes that we have to sit there and question why they are charging X when it supposed to be Y and that becomes a TYPO and corrected... Unacceptable service and just try to charge for everything they can possible charge for.
By far the worst customer service experience. We will be cancelling a reservation for a group of 10 because they refused to accommodate a single guest who's wife had past. Highly recommend Secrets resorts, we've never had an issue booking through them. Wish they had a location in Nassau.
I did reach out to your awful costumer service team. But thanks for the generic reply to make it appear as if you are willing to resolve issues.
Not a 4 star resort. Beach and ocean were amazing, food was okay but awkward times to eat what you want, but the service was awful. It became a joke to us on how long it would take to get a diet coke. Usually if it came it took 30 minutes lol
Just got back from the resort, overall it was fun with family and friends, food was good, and some of the staff made it a great vacation. The downside is the attention to detail on the service side, I would ask for a drink at lunch and it wouldn t show up. Pools were freezing cold, hot tubs were the way to go. On the remote island they were clearly understaffed, but they people that were there were great. No where near a 5 star hotel, but not bad, I won t be back to this Sandals, but willing to try another location. I heard the Jamaica & Barbados were much better.
It's a great location, beautiful scenery, but...the service needs major work into accommodating requests and special needs. Food tasted good but wasn't hot at all. Piano bar needs update and room service took almost 2 hours for a couple of burgers and club sandwiches..my biggest complaint... Overly priced for what it is... Don't care about the rolls royce rides.
Great everything fantastic minibar with no upcharge strong wifi covers full resort white sandy beaches and large pools both with swim up bars, lots of lounge chairs, no rules for towels take 2 each if you want!(omg right?) Lol
Beautiful resort and friendly hotel staff. I have been to quite a few all inclusive resorts and Sandals hands down had the worst service in the restaurants and bars I have ever experienced. The worst part was that they were rude and made you feel as if you were inconveniencing them. It kinda ruined our vacation. The best part about going to these resorts is the food and drinks so that being said...definitely will not be back. I expected Sandals to be top notch on all levels but was disappointed. Save your money! There are plenty of resorts around the world with EXCELLENT service for a fraction of the cost.
I will start that we have not yet stayed at this resort, we will be staying here in the middle of May 2018. We did however stay at the Sandals in Antigua for two weeks for our honeymoon in May of 2016; that stay could not have been better, absolutely fantastic. The reason for my review today is the 'policies' in place by Sandals. My wife booked our trip on April 19th, I found five days later there is a significant discount for the same room, during the same period of time (about 20% or $841). I called simply asking they honor the new rate being provided and was told that since we are within 30 days of travel we cannot have our rate adjusted (not sure correlation there is between a policy of changing a reservation and providing a different rate..but OK). I then asked what concessions can be made for us (Spa credit, dinner on the beach, resort credit...) basically anything so I don't feel like I'm getting robbed of almost a grand. They said there is nothing they can do. I truly feel this is something that needs to be addressed, going by the letter of the law in a policy is causing Sandals future business and I'm not sure upper management knows this is happening. I tried to explain to the customer service rep that if they do not make any concessions they will be loosing our business for any trip in the future. We are both 30, so there is a solid 30 years of travel to Sandals resorts they are missing out on over an $841 dollar discount. Just seems like a terrible business as well as financial move on their part. For reference, between these two trips we have spent about 15K at Sandals in two years, extrapolate that out over 30 more years, they are loosing out on $225,000 worth of travel from us over $841...just makes no business sense.
This was our eighth visit to the Royal Bahamian. We were very happy with everything, except the new alcohol procedure. Unlike our previous visits, we were told we, each, had to select only one libation. My wife selected white wine and was adequately furnished. I asked for scotch, but was told they were totally out of scotch and I would have to pick a substitute. Thinking this was short term, I settled for bourbon. I was told I could have "other" scotch for an additional charge of $ 35. Each, of our 10 day stay, I would ask again for their standard scotch but was told they were still out of scotch. We have had great experiences at other Sandals resorts, but found it hard to believe that over 10 days, an operation as elegant as Sandals couldn't find one bottle of scotch.
Property is lovely, resort is clean, food was good especially for an all inclusive. Overall we were disappointed though with the service. We had butler service that was so lacking (and very costly). I belive they had too many rooms to serve, 10 located in numerous buildings on the property. We continuously had to call to get our room cleaned or to get towels. There seems to be a lack of communication throughout the staff. Both pools closed early for group events with no notice other than maintenance coming out and removing chairs and asking people to leave. Surly waitresses in the breakfast restaurants. And a lot of smoking-I get that that the smokers should have a place to smoke but I d not like walking through it.
We went with a group of 5 couples and we all booked the same type of room and requested to be together. When we checked in some of us were upgraded so we were in different parts of the resort one in which we didn t have hot water to shower. There were mozzarella sticks in one of our night stands. The food here is horrible, and the staff makes you feel like you are asking them for an arm and leg. Needless to say none of us are returning here.
The food at this Sandals is DELICIOUS! Wow! What amazing meals we had for breakfast lunch and dinner! The grounds themselves are slightly smaller and not as luxurious as other Sandals, but I am happy we stayed here! It was a great experience, easy flight and we really enjoyed our room in the back villas with a soaking tub on the balcony!
avoid this resort at all costs. service was TERRIBLE and the food was mediocre at best. wait times to be seated were at 60 minutes and then another 60 minutes to wait for food. Getting one drink was doing well, but a refill on anything never happened. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!
RESPONSE: they say all the right things but nobody stands behind the words. I have reached out to share my experience with both the local club and corporate and have not gotten a response. I also talked to the local Sandals before I left and basically just got an "Im sorry" which is not satisfactory.
Staff is very attentive and fun. Daily pool entertainment was more than memorable. Travis in the photography office was a joy to work with and made our memories last a lifetime. We'll definitely be coming back to Sandals RB.
Ok, I m writing this in real time. I am currently here vacationing. And this is my second visit and I must say the service here has been very lackluster. The room service is slow and when my food came they got the order wrong! Also I ve asked for some amenities from the concerige service and it s taken almost 2 hours to arrive to my room. Very disappointed in the service. If it stays like this I will not be back
What can I say about a honeymoon that was by far a terrible experience from the low standard food quality to the poor level of customer service with high customer dissatisfaction? We were not impressed with the property and what they brought to the table. I am in the hospitality business working at a 4 star luxury resort where it is important to give great customer service but I surely didn t see that at this property. The food has to be the worse food we have ever had at an all inclusive resort. It was a shame for us that we selected your facility for our celebration. We had another couple meet us who had the swim up pool with butler service and they were very disappointed with the service provided as they are a regular at the Sandal properties. These are some things that happened during our stay last week. I would appreciate you addressing these issues and take the appropriate action to ensure no repeat of such a bad experience to your other guest. For the amount of money we spent Sandals in Bahamas it wasn t worth it.
From the moment we landed and were greeted by Yvette to our wonderful driver Michael and his immaculate Rolls Royce, we were treated like royalty.
Jackson, the resort manager met us with a smile and a handshake and the pampering continued with our room staff of Anastacia, Nichola and Shavanti who left us wanting for nothing.
The weather could have been better but otherwise it was an exceptional trip and I would recommend the Sandals Royal Bahamian to anybody who is looking for a destination getaway with their special someone.
This was a group trip for my friend 40th birthday the food wasnt tasteful me and my husband had food poisoning the last full day at the resort. The tv was not working for a full day and night. When it was time to leave there was no one to get our bags like we where told there would be. What made up for the cons was the friends we where with
My husband and I attended Sandals Royal bahamian as a company won trip for my company. For a free trip it wasn't bad. I feel like the rooms were a bit outdated and didn't look like they had upgraded or modernized some of it but the outdoor areas were very nice. I couldn't partake in the all included beverages but my husband did and spoke highly of their heavy pours. Sometimes when you go to these places they skimp out on the alcohol since it's all free for the guests but not here! That's the good part. :) The food was very good! Couple things about the restaurants though. 1) No one really gives you a heads up that there are wait lists and reservations for a lot of the places and so you should probably book those in advanced, or at the very least on your first day there. 2) They also don't tell you that a majority of the places require you to be dressed up - guys in slacks and a button down, women in dresses. I've been to several all inclusive resorts before and this was the first one that had a lot of their restaurants with that strict of a dress code. In my opinion, you are at the beach relaxing, you aren't bringing a lot of fancy clothes. We also took advantage of the water sports that were included in the all inclusive package - those were fun and gave us something to do other then just chilling in the pool. We didn't venture off the resort so I can't speak to the area, but a few friends did and they said it was nice. Overall we liked it. I'd go back for another free trip, but I don't know that I would pay to go back at this point until I tried out a few more Sandals resorts.
First what was good. The beaches, the maintainance, the number of chairs/couches/beds, etc. and the pools are great. The bar tenders, the activity people, water sports guys, concierge and a select few of the servers in the restaurants. Rooms are nice and service staff for them also. The entertainment is top notch. A special thanks to the Sandals manager for helping us out of a jam also. And lastly, the Casanova kittens are quite an amusement and delight for all to watch. Now what needs improvement. A lot of the servers are unfriendly, uncaring and boarderline rude. The service is bad, the wait for food is often lengthy, with much disinterest shown. The food, not so good, for the most part. Will we come back again, probably not which is unfortunate. Bahamas yes.
Resort was beautiful! The food was really good, and the staff was excellent very friendly! Andre the butler made our stay exceptional! He took made us feel like royalty, took care of every detail!
Nice place to relax. The Sandals Royal Bahamian is a bit dated, but clean. The weather in February was 82 and sunny. Food venues are varied and tasty. Two pools and private beaches surround the resort and it's half of discovery island. All inclusive? Only for food and drinks. If you want to do anything extra it is extra and not cheap. But it's a very relaxing place to spend a few days. The staff is amazing and very friendly.
Beautiful beach and nice(ish) resort. Drinks not very nice, seemed to be relying on their reputation rather than actually trying hard to give great service. Scum in pool and whirlpool.
The people where so friendly and very helpful. The food was also delicious and the island resort offers an affordable day pass which included tours, activities, food and all you can drink!
My husband and I loved spending the second half of our honeymoon at Sandals! The food was delicious ,especially the chocolate molten cake at the Crystal room and the Linguine Casanova at Casanovas! The rooms were comfortable and always clean when we came back and the staff always had huge smiles on their faces. We've never met a more friendly and personable staff who make staying at Sandals even better. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable and the Sandals island was a relaxing place to go for the day. We enjoyed every minute we spent here and would love to come back again.
I started to right a full review as I sit here at the resort but I m just too frustrated to waste my time.
Waited six hours for my room
10 restaurants Most are no better then the food at Disney world 2 are supposed good but we could only get into one. No reservations available. Reservations at a restaurant I had already paid to eat at!?!? Went to eat early at the other decent restaurant at 530 and they said they don t open until 630. Went back at 830 to give it time to thin out and was told it was a 45 minute wait as we stared at 6~8 empty tables.
Frustrated, went back to my room ( a room with a view of the roof!) and ate all we had to eat, a piece of cake they delivered to our room for our anniversary. Wound up practically cracking a tooth on some kind of bead with a curly pin sticking out of it that was in the icing on the cake.
Went to bed in a room with an air conditioner that sounds like a jet plane. Only to be woken up by the loud grinding noise of the staff elevator every thirty mnutes or so. Basically slept terribly. Bathtub was dirty. Had hair in it.
Staff is mostly nice but there is always the occasional rude person who makes you feel like their doing you a favor just talking to you. Could go on and on but too frustrated.
If you want a beach and all you can drink alcohol ( as long as your willing to stand in line for it] this is your place. My suggestion, spend $400 a night and stay at Baha Mar. MUCH BETTER RESORT, BETTER FOOD BETTER STAFF.
Sandals basically leaves you feeling you wasted $3000 and a week of valuable vacation time. Save your money!
We had an unpleasant experience for our first time staying at a Sandals resort. Checking in, it took roughly a hour, and checking out took 30 minutes. Rooms were over booked, so we had to bounce around from room to room during our stay. We we're there for a wedding at the resort, this became the biggest inconvenience, as we did not have access to a room or our luggage until 2:30pm for a 4 pm wedding. Thankfully the staff was amazing and kept us in good spirits for all the wedding events.
The resorts compensation for the inconvenience was a 150 dollar comp to the room that could be used at the gift shop or any excursions (that we found out at checkout had to be used)
The worse part about the overbooking, is the website was still offering the same rooms we originally booked, for the same days, at a cheaper rate. When we asked to speak to someone, we were given a complaint card to call.
For our first experience at Sandals, we had a rough time checking in, keeping our room, and getting the hell out. Other than that, the staff was friendly, the food was great and the property was clean.
Learned how to scuba dive with Ramon Munroe who helped me become a PADI Certified diver. The men and women at the dive shop were friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable. I'd come back to Sandals without hesitation. Thank you!!!
Stayed 6 nights over New Years. The grounds were beautifully kept and the staff was generally friendly. Had an ocean view room which was nice but not 5 star. The food was good, not great.
I don't drink so I was really looking forward to having fruit smoothies but they didn't have them. None of the bars had fresh fruit to make them. Also, they only had 1 espresso machine on the entire property so each time I wanted a latte during my meal, either it wasn't available or someone had to run to the theatre to get one.
The service was fine within the restaurants but servers rarely came around the pools and never to the beach. At a 5 star resort, I expect to have drinks and food delivered to me while I relax on the beach.
The biggest positive was the tennis. Wasn't expecting to play, but they have a pro (Sandy) there. He offers free clinics twice a day but since they don't promote it, nobody was there. As a result, I got free private lessons. And this guy was top notch. Even if I had to pay for lessons, it would've been totally worth it.
Had a fantastic experience. Food was great and butler service was worth every penny. Had a swim up room so we rarely even left the room. Rohan and DeAngelo were fantastic. First time to a Sandals property and it won't be our last.
We've been to several all-inclusive resorts before, but Sandals Royal Bahamian blew them all away! The food, the service, they do it all right! Now, full disclosure, we went with their Butler Elite option, so we were pretty pampered, but the quality of the food and the attention we got from everyone was among the best.
Our room was spacious with an amazing view of the beach and crystal clear Caribbean. The decor has an island vibe, very much in the vein of Tommy Bahama, with the furniture in great condition. There were plenty of outlets with "American" plugs, so no need to bring an adapter or a power strip.
The resort itself is gorgeous, with lush, well maintained foliage. There are two pools, one being the "party" pool, and the other know as the "quiet" pool. These names are VERY accurate, so try both and see which category you fall into. Regardless of which pool you choose, there is plenty of seating, space to swim and multiple hot tubs. Both pools have swim-up bars with plenty of seating. There are also attentive servers who circle the pools making sure you never go dry.
Speaking of bars...there are MANY bars on the property to quench your thirst! All of the bartenders are highly skilled, and quite generous with their pours. One of our favorite haunts was the piano bar which hosted raucous singalongs every night. There is a bartender there with the nickname "Fluffy" (the reason for this is still a mystery), and he makes his own blend of rum which he keeps on the bar in a cask. Ask Fluffy for a taste, and you won't be disappointed.
There are MANY great restaurants on property, so you really never need to leave. Our favorites were "Gordon's on the Pier", Baccarat, Casanova, and the Crystal Room. You can't go wrong with any of the eateries, but we ate at each of these multiple times during our 9 day stay. My recommendations? Try the Grouper or Surf & Turf at Gordon's, the Gnocchi at Casanova, the Pork Chop at the Crystal Room, and the Filet at Baccarat.
Now, at the risk of sounding elitist, I need to tell you about their Butler Elite class of service. When we travel, we like to make it into a luxury experience. Having a Butler at Sandals makes you feel beyond pampered. Upon arrival, you are greeted at the airport by a Rolls Royce which whisks you to the hotel. Upon arrival you meet your Butler who takes you to your room and handles your check-in there, away from the crowd at the front desk. You're given a cellular phone that works anywhere on the property to call your Butler and request anything you might need. Like what? Well, drinks by the pool, a last minute reservation to a restaurant, room service, pretty much anything you could think of wanting! The service is 24 hours a day, so you have a team of Butlers for your stay. They're all fun, professional, and aim to please. Sure, it's a pricey way to go, but in my opinion it's worth every penny!
While we haven't been to other Sandals, we spoke with many guests who had, and they all seemed to like this location over many others they'd visited. Parting was sweet sorrow, but we fully intend on returning!
The hospitable staff made it feel like home. The resort is clean and well maintained. The events throughout the day until late night were great, entertaining and made the end of the day relaxing.
Above average for a resort, below average for a Sandals. Outstanding service, but prepare to be roped-off from certain areas by 2-3 weddings per day. The property is somewhat small and very un-walkable - you'll make long winding detours around pools/construction, even to get to a restaurant next door. The beach is well maintained, but the shoreline is not very long and bisected by their main pier, limiting swimming. They won't even loan a mask/snorkel from the main water sports shop - I guess because of boat traffic? The "private" island is shared with at least one other resort, has one understaffed bar and a mediocre restaurant, so you won't take the ferry across more than once. Food quality was outstanding, but options were limited, especially mid-day. Go to Sandals South Coast instead - I wish we did.
Very disappointing in room service. We are club level in the Windsor Tower. We have not had a stocked drinks fridge from day one. Today is day 6! Everyday, sometimes 2/3 times, we requested to have some beer added and on ONE occasion we got 2 cans! Today it is raining heavily and we have at last managed to secure an umbrella, which we managed to pick up from reception despite being assured it would be delivered to our room 6 days ago. The staff are very jolly, full of promises but in reality are lackadaisical.
First off, the Bahamas is beautiful, the drinks are made well, and the bread products are fantastic. Now for the real story for "Sandals" or should it be called "we hate our jobs and don't care about our guests at all". Sandals boasts about customer service but has none. Our stay began with a vague tour of the property where the host had to show us our room, aka hang out until he was tipped. The gift shop was extremely over priced ex. tee shirt $47. The pool had nice chairs but music was nonexistent except for 1 day where it played for 15 seconds and cut off and on and was not addressed by any staff. Drinks, although good, took forever as the bartenders were non- conversational and crass.Entertainment was a joke with just 1 terrible singer per night. Other resorts we have stayed have put on amazing shows. As for food, if you didn't make reservations the food is the same every night. Also the staff is rude and are super strict on the dress code for meals. Of all 7 all-inclusive islands resorts we have stayed at, this was BY FAR THE WORST AND MOST EXPENSIVE!!! How does Sandals get off charging this much for such poor experiences? Oh by the way the water in our room was brown for an entire day and the staff could care less. There are so many other options for all inclusive. Why would anyone choose Sandals?
Hello! We just got back from our vacation at the Royal Bahamian. I want to start with the good...the water, the sand, the Bahamian people and culture. Great weather all around. We also loved the private island!
I would like to let you know about some of the cons of our trip, as we want to make your company aware. First of all, why does the resort ask if we are celebrating any special holidays or events when they do not acknowledge or do anything for the guest(s)? Service was quite bad, we found it was such a task going to get a drink, or going to eat. Waiting forever. How come there are no servers on the beach taking drink orders? Our 4 star Mexican resort had this and it was amazing. We also found the food rather low quality, and all coming from the same kitchen. There was nowhere to get a great coffee or a pastry. We had to push a button on a machine to get a coffee and half the time the beans or milk needed to be replenished. We found the rooms and hallways very run down and rather dirty. Power went out several times in the room and during a dinner. We ran out of water from our fridge quite often. Lamp in our room (215) flickered and didn't work and our bathtub faucet dripped the whole time. We are mostly upset about a birthday and our anniversary not being acknowledged by your staff. Honestly being to other resorts (not Sandals), this was very low quality for a 5 star. Our Dominican and Mexican resorts (4 star) had far superior service. We also were kicked out of a hut beach spot one morning because a guest with a butler claimed it was his spot, this was 11am and we had been on the beach by 8am. How long are these spots allowed to be blocked off? We found this to be very unfair. We will not be returning to any of your resorts again as we found it to be extremely overpriced for what we got. Thank you for listening to the feedback.
