I loved it! From the awesome service provided by Shervin (Fluffy) at The Paino Bar, the world's best massage delivered by the breathtaking spa employee, the sensual music sang by the One Band Man outside by the warm and so cozy fire pit to the outstanding food. I LOVED IT, All of it! Thank you!

All perfect. Excellent structure and welcoming staff. The only problem we had was dealing with an employee who laughed rudely in the face while booking the restaurant for dinner. Really unprofessional, it has brought down the level of all the staff who work hard all day and every day. The laughter was in bad taste all the more because we are aware that our English is not up to the task, but it is an international hotel we did not think it was the only language in use, or of having to feel at fault, to the point to make us laugh in the face. So folks, an English review before I go!
A beautiful exclusive hideaway spot with crystal waters, calm beach and cool breeze with a view to the mainland. Grab a drink at the bar, indulge in a spa treat or snorkel on the other side of the island and immerse yourself in a unique, relaxing adventure unlike any other. I can't wait to return!
Not really a "luxury included" vacation for the price. Crowded beaches with only a selected few beach chairs with umbrellas to compete for under a blazing sun , long waits at restaurants only to finally order a "surf and turf" , wait 1.5 hours and to our displeasure get shrimp instead of lobster lol (really shrimp instead of lobster @ $1000 per night??). Only one bar on the beach but it's not even a beach bar its the main bar so you have to walk up the steps to get to it, and they have just their local beer there are no other beer options. To be honest nothing really stood out compared to a regular all-inclusive you can book for a fraction of the price. On their site they show you misleading pictures with only a few beach chairs on the beach but when you go to the beach its crowded with barely any privacy...their service is okay but Ive paid half the amount on other places in the D.R or Mexico resorts with better service, luxury and amenities. We stayed at a Sandals resort in Jamaica and that one was a little bit better but IMO not worth then $$$. Good luck in your search!
We arrived in a group, handed a little blue book and told to go find our rooms. When we asked about a coffee shop we were told to leave this all inclusive resort that we pay thousands of dollars to be on, and walk down the street to buy our coffee at Starbucks, which we actually noticed people walking around with Starbucks as well as subway, which tells u something about the food here. Made service is ridiculous, they never stalked anything. Had to call the desk everyday. When we swam to the pool bar for a drink the bartender barely made eye contact and said "what do you want" not in a nice way. Most of the people were unfriendly, unattentive, very slow. The place was unorganized. We have never experienced a resort like this. Sandals should be ashamed to put their name on it. Entertainment team, worst we ever saw. The only saving grace to this resort is their private island and beautiful beach. The friendliest most energetic people we ran into were our bartenders on the private island. They were not even from the bahamas, kisselle from Grenada, and Copeland from jamaica. They were brought to the island for 6 months. They are hard workers and genuinely happy. We went to the island every day because of them. They made us feel welcomed and not like a burden. They remembered everyone's name which was impressive. The airport was the worst airport I have ever been in. We will never again visit the bahamas.
Amazing Scuba Diving!!! Dived everyday from 8:30 am to about 1 pm, 2 dives per day. Then enjoyed the resort! Beats Sandals LaToc in my opinion for beautiful clear water and sunsets!
Unbelievably disappointed and upset! We are to be leaving for our honeymoon to this resort in 5 weeks when we get an unexpected call that the resort is closing. Our honeymoon has been booked since March and with all of the stress of planning a wedding I can't believe we have to start all over with our honeymoon search. What a disappointment in such a highly rated resort! My heart goes out to all of those who had their weddings scheduled there!
This was our first trip to a Sandals resort. And will be our last. The food was just ok. Breakfast was the same everyday. With very few options. Had to ask for our room to be cleaned one day. And another day we had to call for clean towels several times. Employees where not very friendly.
Hey guys next time you come to the Bahamas come visit our lovely store which is called Evolution you can look it up on the map to Evolution and Kristen's closet ladies
DO NOT GO TO SANDALS UNLESS YOU HAVE A BUTLER SUITE - OTHERWISE IT'S A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.
Our trip started with this great Oceanview club level suite which we thought would be the picture on the right or something like it. Instead we were placed next to the seedy apartments next door with a view that the lady who took us there said was partial and obstructed oceanview not what the description offered. We expressed how disappointed we were and we wanted another room, were told they were fully booked, which it turns out was because they have a lot of Sandals employee meetings at this resort, you d think someone would not want a customer unhappy from the beginning.
The room we received was a blatant misrepresentation of what we booked see the brochure picture vs. the actual.
When we arrived, all of your restaurants were closed except for the pizza place which took over two hours to get a pizza from. Not a problem if they offered any snacks in our top shelf supplied alcohol room. I mean really, they can t afford to put some crackers or snacks in the room, yet they put 2 3 hundred dollars worth booze in each room???
Breakfast at the French place took forever and everything was cold. We followed the rules and booked our two reservations for the French and the Japanese dinners to celebrate our friends birthday. These reservations were booked by the concierge in our lobby, with myself in attendance. She gave the correct number of people and the times. When we arrived at the French restaurant, we were told our party of 4 was really for 6; we explained that there were only 4 of us, they asked us to wait. 45 minutes later we were told that we could only be seated if we sat at two different two top tables for our friends birthday party, or we could wait another 45 minutes and we might get a table. We sat separate from our friends and the food was good, but the night was ruined.
Japanese, when we showed up for our reservation, were told that our party of 4 was only for 2 and that our friends were out of luck. They said they could do nothing. A resort manager finally was able to get us all a seat, by adding expanding the table over it s capacity. And it took waiting an additional hour.
For sailing, the guy that puts the boats in the water needs a new job he s a bit of a butt. As are the bartenders by the noisy pool. We booked this trip based on the fact that the bottled water was free, yet the pool bartender refused to give me a bottle, would only fill up a glass of tap water each time.
A different boat for carrying equipment to the island is needed, several safety issues were created when we road the boat, a lady was injured by an item that shouldn't have been there.
Overall, not worth the money - many people there told us that "Secrets' was better? Also, many people expressed that Jamaica Sandals is superior to the one we were at.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and honeymoon at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The resort is beautiful, no damage from any recent storms. Employees were working day and night to continually keep the resort up to standards. The friendless of the employees and Nassau in general is second to none. For all inclusive, the food was good, wish there was more options though. The Royal cafe grill was closed for our whole stay, one of the few lunch options, which was a big disappointment. This caused every other lunch option to be busier. On our last day, we ordered a pizza; and was quoted 20 minutes three times; after an hour, we find out our order was lost and not started, so now most lunch places are about to close with no where to eat until dinner. We made it to Spices buffet before it closed, but all main entrees were gone, leaving us with a salad bar and nachos. The food is basically the same prepared different ways over and over, so for a whole week, it gets old quick. We would not do all inclusive again, did not think we got our money s worth. Similar resorts would be around $250 a day without food and drink, and we didn t eat and drink $300 plus a day. They should have offered more food options for lunch at other restaurants, since the grill was closed and had items that no other place had. Our last night we also waited almost an hour for two burgers, because again no one placed the order, then the mozzarella sticks came out cold.
Was excellent. The service is exceptional and the customer service was on point. Overall experience was beyond my expectations. I did a destination wedding and that was the best decision I made. Everything was flawless and the staff are first class. I would highly recommend Sandals Royal Bahamian for any destination wedding or just flat out pampering and relaxation.
Older resort that shows its age. Beautiful beaches and offshore island. Terrible bar service and average food at every restaurant. Quiet beach with no kids. Really enjoyed our stay.
Really great couple's resort with no kids. Very chill atmosphere and surroundings. The staff was friendly but slow at times. There is a no tipping policy which is nice. We came for a week on our honeymoon and it was perfect. We got a butler which I would highly recommend. Also the villas are more modern and quiet. Food was good but bland at times. We are definitely open to coming back. Our butlers Nikhola and Ailyn we're really great.
Visited Sandals Nov 30th through Dec 3rd. Booking Check in First, let me say they were very accommodating in letting me switch my trip because of Hurricane Irma. They gave me no issues and we didn t pay any additional to change. Arrival went very smoothly and there is a Sandals check in setup right at the airport. They also let us check in around 10 am. Wonderful!
Rooms There are too many choices! Our room was an upgrade and it was larger than a normal room but, everything else was similar. It was considered Club level but, the only thing I noticed was a concierge avaialable in our building
Restaurants Food Pizza was good but, service was poor. No one was sure where to order or who was in charge. Casanova s Italian was great. I had Lasagna and my husband had lamb chops. Everything was prepared well and the salad bar was excellent.
Schooners and the Grill were about the same. Steak Sandwich was ok my husband really enjoyed the snapper. Spices was the Buffet and I m happy as long as there is a good omelet station which there was. Great breakfast. Kimonos only had 3reservations left when we arrived and it was too late to eat. 930
Off resort Take the bus it was fun and cheap Visit the straw market Senor frogs is always fun and even the locals hang out there
Overall it was a good experience and the people were all very friendly. Giving 4stars because at a few of the restaurants and for the Hobee Cat rental some of the staff seemed to be on island time. Example: we wanted to sail at 930 am. They said come for a lesson at 1:30 pm. We did. The guy said 5 mins. 15 mins later he said 5 more mins. Finally he gave us a lesson . That lasted 1 min 30 secs and said ok you re good to go. Side note they had just rescued someone that tipped their catamaran. We were fine but, it was just an inconvienece and not very customer friendly.
We had such a good time, I don't think anywhere else could compare. Can't wait to see the other Sandals resorts. Just make sure if you have an excursion cancelled that you get your money back. Had a hard time getting it back but after many calls I finally got it refunded
I cannot believe i never wrote a review!!! My husband and i went to the Sandals Royal Bahamian for our honeymoon back in December of 2014. WE booked the Windsor Swim Up Butler Elite Suite BEST CHOICE EVER!! Our butler Bubbles and Moro i believe his name was they were absolutley amazing!!! I can specifically remember one night we where outside watching one of the concerts and we had chex mix and ran out i called my butler for more but unfortunatley i thought he forgot about us. HOWEVER we went to our room that night there was an apology note with a huge bag of chex mix!! Our butlers went above and beyond for us and i could not ask for more. My hubby has been managing in the customer service buisness for over 8 years at a Casino. And he was EXTREMELY impressed at the customer service. We had a candle light dinner on the beach one night and it was AMAZING our butler was top notch it seems like he has been a waiter/ butler for Years but turns out he was only a barber lol but he was amazing and possibly the BEST waiter we has the entire time! We will be returning next year to celebrate our 5 Year anniversary. Thank you So much Sandals for making it such a wonderful experience!
This was the first time I've gone to the Bahamas and the water truly is as blue as it looks in the pictures. I was super impressed and staying at a sandals is probably the best decision you could make. the staff treats you like a king the restaurants are amazing. the all-inclusive is the way to go!
Fantastic scenery Large pools Small but very nice beach Dream private island Large rooms The only flaw is the attention to detail in the rooms Food at will but not of a high standard (still within the American average)
12/12/18 Besides the housekeeping issue ( stains on sheets & dust falling from t.v shelve) And cats near pool area (only reason i am giving resort 4 star ) i had upon arrival everything else was fantastic!! staff was very attentive, on point & always smiled & greeted us. mr micheal from (royal cafe was the best he projected great energy during our stay. mr ludwig from ( kimonos) was fsntasic i love his energy & how he treats the guest. (schooners private island staff was amazing mr marcia & manger shantel were amazing!!! staff are very professional ! front desk crew did an amazing job also .would we come back yess because overall it was a great experience besides the little issues... sandles live up to thier name title
Great Location, its too bad their customer service is pitiful. Booking a trip shouldn't be as difficult as they make it. This is the least accommodating resort I've ever tried to work with.
Despite booking 5 rooms with this resort, we were told that our one single occupancy booking couldn't stay at the property on their own despite our willingness to pay the 2 person fee. SO, Sandals would receive the same fee but not have to service 2 people. So, we were forced to cancel the reservation ahead of the 30 day deadline (otherwise we would lose a chunk of the money we paid).
Since then, we talked to some of their other departments and it sounds like they CAN do a single occupancy booking... The catch is that in the last couple of days, our booking cost has increased by $4,000.00.
Excellent place, luxury hotel, very good service, the best quality, unbeatable design. This is better than what the photos on the page show, it has renovations and reforms that have improved the beauty of the hotel even more. A true dream, 1000% recommended. You must not lose it
Amazing honeymoon experience and a truly beautiful place! All the staff are really kind and super talented. Our butlers went out of their way to make sure we had the best time and whatever we needed they were more than happy to make it happen! We truly appreciate them and all the wonderful staff! We already booked our next Sandals vacation! Special thanks to our phenomenal butlers: Irelyn, Lorentino, Johnnie and our server Shaq!
One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We loved everything about it, the best part is the private island across from the main resort. You can spent an entire day just relaxing they have everything you need to please your needs. Highly recommended!
We honeymooned here back in 2013 and still talk about what a wonderful experience we had! The resort was beautiful and the food was great! Anytime honeymoon destinations come up, I ALWAYS recommend Sandals Royal Bahamian. I think its time to take an anniversary trip back! We enjoyed everything about our stay here!
We have stayed at multiple sandals properties and this is hands down the worst sandals and one of the worst properties I have ever stayed at. Too many issues to list, just know there are way better options in the Bahamas.
- consistently ran out of beer and water - it was like pulling teeth to get an extra bottle of water to your room - lots of rooms reported stolen stuff - rooms not cleaned included beds sheets - majority of staff is not out to help you. The entertainment staff was good but that s about it
Unfortunately I slipped and fell. I tried to locate a nurse that even our concierge couldn t find. After she called multiple people asking where she was it was another hour before she arrived. They could care less about what caused the fall. The management is clueless.
I could go on and on, just know you will be disappointed if you stay here. Especially for the cost.
This was our first time to a Sandals resort and we really enjoy our stay there! First of all, the resort is just 15 minutes away from the airport which is very agreeable after a long flight. They welcomed us with refreshing bubbles glasses and the check-in was pretty quick using an iPad. We had a spacious room with sea view and direct access to the beach.
Among the ten dining options featuring an array of cuisine from Italy to Caribbean Seafood, we had a delightful dining experience at Baccarat French restaurant and at Gordon s on the Pier Oceanside restaurant. Thanks to the delicate attention provided by the chefs, they were able to accommodate our vegan diet. From breakfast to dinner, we ate delicious vegan food at this resort.
We went several times to the beautiful offshore island offering fresh water pool, swim up pool bar, whirlpool, and their famous Zen Garden including the Red Lane Spa. The highlight of our visit to the Sandals private island was definitely the relaxing 1-hour massage at the Red Lane Spa. There are two deluxe massage tables per room, which is ideal for couples. Visit my Instagram (kelledstyle) for more pictures ;-)
Superb! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, I felt like royalty. The staff is top knotch! Friendly, efficient, and kind. Beach and pool activities. two pools one with the swim up bar. Access to a beautiful beach. Excursion (quick boat ride) to a separate island with and additional beach, bar and grill. I enjoyed a romantic candle lite dinner on the beach, which I will never forget. Easy access to the city by bus. There you can enjoy local food, shop and buy motor bike and atv's to drive around town. Stop reading and book your trip!
Just got back from a few days staying at the resort. The stay was really good. The food was really good. There was only one time the food was not the best but it was still good.
The beaches where clean. They where out every day cleaning up the seaweed. A lot of spots to sit around, relax, and enjoy the ocean.
The private island is a place I would highly recommend going to. We spent several days there relaxing. The north side of the island is a great spot to snorkel. Found a sting ray there and some cool looking shells at the bottom of the ocean.
The room could have been in better shape. Still good but you could see the room needed maintenance done to make it look at its best. The room also didn't have a hair dryer. Took a couple of hrs after calling before the hair dryer was brought to my room.
The butler service for us was just ok. We read really good reviews but we didn't see that. Only once did we get the full benefit of the service. We had two butlers. One of them we only saw twice the first day we where there. After that never saw the guy again. The second guy we saw each day except the last day since he was off. Never saw the butlers on our last day. The only thing that was awesome was the last night there my wife was sick and we went to Gordon's. She could not handle the wind that night. The butler came and got the food after we left and brought it back to our room. The only time we heard from the butlers was when they where asking if we where ready for dinner. Would have been nice if they checked in more to see how things where going. They talked about having snacks in the room each day but we never saw them after the first day. We finally had to call one day and have some brought up. Maybe we weren't demanding enough so didn't see the full benefit of the service. Like I said previously we have read good reviews on the butler service. maybe we had an off experience.
The staff was good. Most where saying hello and friendly. I have read the Bahamas is more laid back then the states. We took this into account and we didn't have any bad experience with the staff.
The private island is stunning. Food is above average. Service was fine. We may try another Sandals but do not think we would go to this one again. It was ok, not bad. Just nothing spectacular. But it was relaxing and restful.
Very good standard resort. The structure is spread over a very large area, with several swimming pools (it seems to me 7), a variety of restaurants (considering the take away will be at least 10 ...) and part of a private island. The rooms are of different types, ranging from villas to colonial-style rooms. The staff is present and available, we found ourselves very well. In particular, we really liked the Japanese restaurant, with the chef cooking on an induction plate, directly at our table !!! Even the sea point on the private island is absolutely not to be missed. I have read some criticism of the animation ... but I must say that Sandals is not the usual tourist resort where confusion reigns .. but a class resort, where relaxation and tranquility are the watchword ... We loved it.
Great resort, lots of pools, lots of bars, lots of restaurants, lots of things to do. It has a private island (well shared with Caribbean Cruise Lines), but once you are on there you won't even notice. Crystal clear water out on the island, ocean hammocks. Red Lane spa (massage in private huts with great views, full spa in main building).
Villas with garden outside tubs are a sight to behold. That is the only place to stay when you are there. It's like your own private house. Two TV's, living room, huge bathroom, outside soaking tub. Amazing lighting. Each room is different so it all varies a little, some have stairs, others are on the ground level.
Swim up suites are interesting, you walk out onto your patio and into the pool. Nice and secluded from the main loud pools.
All inclusive, fully stocked fridges and lots of liquor in your room. The butler suites are nice, everything and anything can be brought to you. You can even order five entrees is you wish (a few people do, I hear).
The Pub has some of the best food there, and very, very fast service. The coffee could be better and, powdered eggs in Spices for breakfast... Most of the lettuce for salads is swimming in water. Overall, the food is a 4 out of 5.
Came here on our honeymoon and the staff was warm and inviting. The food was prepared well and tasted good. I enjoyed my stay but for some guest there should be a cut off on how much they can drink they were really obnoxious.
Awesome week made possible by the best three cabana butlers! Kristin, Romano and Nudsen made our week extremely relaxing and made sure we were taken care of from 9-5 daily on the beach!!
Kyrsea and Brandesha with Loyalty & Travel were also amazing is setting it all up and and checking on us throughout our stay.
I stayed at SRB for my best friends wedding. We were some of the youngest guests there, obviously we were not the target market. Although we weren't looking for a party all night long event the place shut down around 9.30 PM. There was only one bar on the premise that stayed open past 10 PM. Most resort guests vanish once the sun sets.
At my first breakfast a waitress spilled a very full, very pulpy, mimosa all over me and my white shirt. Although she apologized I was never offered cleaning service. I had to go to the front desk and ask if someone could clean my shirt from the mess and the desk attendant seems rather annoyed that I was asking.
Most staff seemed rather put off if anyone from our party asked for anything. One waitress practically rolled her eyes at myself and my friend when we asked for a drink. That was the theme of most (but not all) of our service. The general service at dinners was also very leisurely and would take about 1.5 hours from start to finish. The one lunch I had on the Sandals Island took 40 mins before we received our food and there were only 5 other tables at the time.
I woke up one morning to find that some of my hair was blue from what I can only assume is faint amounts of blue dye in the pool water. My hair is rather blonde and very porous, if there is color in water my hair will absorb it. I had my hair pinned up but a small amount clearly got wet and turned blue as it dried. I went to the desk, where they tried to convince me it was a chemical reaction with the chlorine but my hair was blue not green. They did schedule me an appointment at the salon the handle it and the stylist was very sweet and was able to get most of the color out.
Every day they do Tea Time in the Piano Bar but they only set out as many cups as they have chairs, which is rather limited. There was a group of four of us with no seats available for us to sit in so we decided to sit at the bar. Although we had food in front of us no one asked if we wanted tea. We had to ask for tea, which again, we seemed to be inconveniencing the staff although all the tea things were just off to my left. After a few moments, without acknowledgment that they would in fact serve us tea, they finally brought over cups and saucers and tea to pick from. But they didn't bring over cream or sugar so again, we had to ask for that, and again, it seemed like we were asking for the world.
On the last day of the trip I was on the shuttle bus that will take us to the airport. Since I had a laughable amount of bad luck most of the trip I constantly was checking that my bag had been loaded onto the bus. When the bus driver jumped on the bus and shut the doors telling us we were leaving I looked back out the window one last time to make sure they loaded my bag and it was still sitting on the curb, along with the bag of another guest on the bus.
For the amount of money this trip cost me I wouldn't say my experience matched. Some had to do with things no one could control like weather. It was slightly cool and very windy most of the trip so water activities were suspended most of my trip. The best part of my time there was my friend's wedding. It was done very well and the staff at the reception/cocktail hour were very hospitable and attentive.
Wonderful resort and very friendly staff. I could not have been more happy with our trip as all the food was great, drinks are top shelf and well made. My only suggestion is make sure you put on some DEET bug spray if you have dinner on the private island (Stewfish - which was amazing) as they have noseeums (sand flies). We got pretty bit up by those guys and they itch like no other. Rooms are very nice and the grounds are kept up (including the beach). Alexander, Jim and Corey are great butlers!!!!
We came to this resort for our son's destination wedding, staying 4 nights. This resort was very disorganized when arriving, checking in and out and getting shuttled to the airport and the disorganization doesn't concern them. They even lost one of my bags from the resort to the airport! The resort grounds were nice, most of the employees were friendly, the food was good and the drinks wonderful but we paid premium for a room in the Balmoral and got a lousy location overlooking the neighboring homes, the resort generator and trash area. Our patio was the size of a postage stamp, no room for even one chair. Room had broken refrigerator, drippy shower, broken clock, chipped furniture, no room service and no full bar. Rest of our family stayed in the Windsor, where it is cheaper, and had nicer rooms and in some cases better views. We will NOT go back to Sandals in the Bahamas, had a much better experience at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica.
Me and my husband went here last year for our honeymoon. While the resort & beaches are beautiful, the staff was lacking. Most of them were miserable and had attutides. We think its because it is a no tipping resort. Some resturants were hard to get into, especially the upscale ones. Nassau isnt crazy safe so best not to leave resort unless on a tour. Stay away from straw market! The resort was nice but we wouldnt go back.
You pay for the ocean..... The buffet was average and dinners where okay. The sports pub seemed dirty to me and the first night I got chewed up in there by nats, tics or mosquitos which Messed with me the whole time. The staff in the Pub where great!!!! Even let us order food 40 min before they opened. Pool entertainment was awesome the DJs where amazing friendly and did a great job. The probate island was so so pool water looked like it hadn't been skimmed clearity was poor.
What a gem of a resort. The staff is super friendly! See Fluffy and Sophia at the piano bar, Shemeka at the party pool and Nakoa at the chill pool. Copeland is out on the island being amazing. Speaking of which, the private island as part of this resort is such a great time. You must take the trip out there. The food was all good so you can't go wrong. Oh and of course, a couple resort cats lounging around made this cat lover a happy lady! Head here, it's well worth the money!
Zero customer service! We thought we would splurge for our honeymoon and take advantage of a few perks. The first day was a horrible experience from the ridiculous room view, to the lack of professionalism and help from staff. After seeing our cringeworthy parking lot view on our honeymoon suite, I told "Princess Jasmine" that we would need to see about changing rooms. She literally looked past me and told me to go down stairs and she walked off! We dealt with them for the first day trying to change the room and decided to just make the best of it for the rest of the trip and not expect ANYTHING! We realized that there would be no special perks for the price we paid, and even the extra things we signed up for like turn down service with rose petals, champagne, and breakfast in bed. NOPE never done! Was notified the day of our massage that they are not even open at the time that was showing available on their website when I paid $150 for it, so had to change our itinerary to accommodate their availability. Called on Tuesday and Wed to try to get a reservation in at a nice restaurant on site, no availability until Sat, we were flying out Friday! So unfortunately we ate most of our meals at the bar. (so glamorous) Tried to cancel our $200 candle light dinner on the beach because of the menu (we were not shown the choices until we got there. I am not hard to please, but I do not eat seafood.) We were given the run around several times about that cancelation. Still waiting for it to be taken care of. SMH There was a day we had no towels or pillow cases.. ? Although all of the food was great, we'll stick to our IHG hotels. Thanks.
To start, we did speak with a Guest Services representative on site before we left. We were given a very small compensation which was a nice gesture but far from enough.
We stayed April 3-6, 2019 in a Windsor Oceanview Penthouse Club Level Suite. That is a really long title for essentially a basic hotel room with a view of the ocean (as well as the abandoned property next door and a parking lot). Our room, #1632, was less than desirable especially when comparing it to other rooms by other brands. Our room felt dated and had obvious paint touch up on various walls. Our bed was a simple king on slats instead of a box-spring which was far from comfortable. The bathroom was a typical tub/shower combo and a curtain. It felt like a bathroom you'd find in any normal hotel. We had one day without any hot water in our room.
Food - The majority of the food was not the quality you'd expect for a place that says you'll take a "culinary journey around the world". Bland, sub-par and unappetizing sums up the food. We aren't picky but the food was "okay" at best.
Service - We found that the service throughout the resort was very disappointing. From standing at a hostess stand for up to 10 minutes without anyone around, to so many servers/bartenders being on auto-pilot and showing no expression or personality. The best though, was our night eating at the British pub. After walking in, we were told to grab our own menus and seat ourselves. That is exactly what we spent $800 a night for.
On our second to last day, we came back to our room at 3:30 to find that it hadn't been cleaned or refreshed. We notified that front desk and asked to speak with a manager as we were tired of the poor service. We were told someone would call. They didn't. We didn't hear from anyone until we finally went to the front desk at 7:30.
The Resort - Beautiful ocean views, some of our favorite. Aside from that, it feels small and cramped. it's difficult to find beach/pool chairs that aren't being reserved already. The majority of the chairs have towels in them yet no one ever shows up. We observed two people get into a yelling match over who was sitting there first. The chairs are also seemingly on top of each other. A lot of trash and empty glasses left in various locations.
Overall, the staff just seemed to lack care or concern. Service was consistently slow or bad. Can't imagine a scenario where we would return to any Sandals again.
My boyfriend and I spent last week at Sandals Royal Bahamian and we absolutely loved it! We were hesitant at first and had no idea what to expect but the staff and resort exceeded our expectations. Being a younger couple we were nervous we would be the youngest, but there was an excellent range of age from young honeymooners to older couples who have been going to Sandals for 20 plus years. We opted for a beach front butler suite and it was great! Our view and our butlers were amazing. The private island was our favorite part of the resort and we went 3 of the 5 days. At night we really enjoyed sitting by the many fire pits, and singing along at the piano bar! The Spa was excellent and the airport transfer in the Rolls Royce was second to none. Our only complaint from the entire trip was the pools were freezing! It is sad because the beautiful pools and swim up bars were mostly empty due to how cold they were! Anyways, we booked to go to another Sandals location next March and can't wait!
My husband and I just returned from Sandals and had an amazing time. I want to do a shout out to Damien and Sonny who took us scuba diving for an amazing experience! Rooms were great! Dinners were amazing! Drinks were good too! Would go back for sure!
The best the best the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had the most incredible time with my 10 family members for our first time here!!! We lived it so much that we booked our next stay at Exuma!!!!!!
Our honeymoon was ruined by this resort. We were told that they were experts in food allergies, and my wife, having celiac, was very comforted by this. I can eat everything in normal situations and be fine, but both of us were sick throughout the honeymoon. Most places I ve been, you establish some form of rapport with servers/bartenders, but at this resort, they were cold and rude, frankly. I found out halfway through our stay that the entire original resort staff had gone on strike months before, and were replaced by new people... who knows the condition of it now, but we were there May 2019 and treated quite poorly. We also spoke to multiple couples on the way out to the airport who d been to other Sandals resorts, who said this is by far the worst experience they d ever experienced and were very happy to be on the bus to the airport.
I don't even know where to begin. This was the most incredible experience for my husband and I. This was our first stay at a Sandals resort and everything was spectacular from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The hospitality was top notch; everyone was very friendly. All of the restaurants were very flavorful and we never had a bad meal. I especially enjoyed the antipasto bar at Casanova and the ease of the breakfast buffets. The experience with Darius, our server at Gordon's on the Pier especially stood out. The drinks were consistently delicious, whether it was by the pool, at dinner or on the private island. The whole environment was clean and kept up very well and every employee we had the pleasure of meeting was pleasant and you can tell everyone truly loves what they do. We really enjoyed talking with Aleko before leaving the resort and he was really fun to be around at the pool during the day. They had activities each day that were entertaining so there was never a dull moment. Oh, and the Fire Show Friday night was so much fun! The room was comfortable and spacious as well, with a balcony that was nice to start and end the day on. We got a massage on the island and both masseuses were respectful and it was so nice to hear the ocean in the background. We would highly, highly recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. You will NOT regret visiting... and stay as long as you can! We plan on going back.
That was just what I needed; to be totally pampered for seven days. We booked for a different "Sandals" 2021 resort already :) five Stars from me......
Two large pools, several whirlpools, a beautiful beach and the private island. All drinks and food in all areas included. You can also serve drinks, ice cream and popcorn yourself. Pizza maker. Nice hidden loungers on the island. Definitely snorkel, turtles and fish!
Rooms and staff are excellent. I love the attitude of the employees here, extremely helpful, polite, positive and friendly. I highly recommend the spa, the massage was excellent. You will need to keep in mind while here they operate on a much slower pace than we do in the states. We are used to "do it now", "have it completed ASAP with a good attitude", and of course the favorite with Gen X and older "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean". Their culture is much more relaxed, slower paced, and interactive with each other -aka talking. I have witnessed that sometimes, being from the states, this can be seen as dismissive or rude to the customer. Not at all what they are are going for. This is their culture, we are the visitors wanting the relaxing experience. We need to slow down. The beaches are small, not many covered areas, which leave people taking them when you take a dip in the ocean. For a multi chain resort of it's magnitude, you would think there would be ample covered areas. They frequently run out of beach towels, which are in semi-hidden in cloth covered huts, not labeled. You will need to make sure that you keep yours all day. Pro-tip - get yours the night before, if they have any. This will assure you will actually get some the next day. They have 2 good sized pools, both with swim up bars. One is know as the quiet pool and the other the party pool. The difference being the party pool will play loud music, have games, and attract the crowd that enjoys parties. The quite pool is just that, quiet, even at the swim up bar. With both pools, same as the beaches, the lack of covered seating or seating of any option for the quiet pool is mentionable. Food is advertised as gourmet, but the processed chicken and burger leave much to be desired. The seafood dishes are at best average. The portion size is about all that I have found to correlate with gourmet dinning. I've found about half of the bar tenders know how to make/mix a drink. Most will just add in all of the mix then put the alcohol on top. This doesn't make for mixing a frozen drink yourself with a paper straw very easy. If they are unsure of how to make the drink, they will either tell you they are out, ask what is in it, or pretend what you asked for is something entirely different. If you, as I, don't mind explaining, mixing with a straw, or drinking something different, not an issue. They often restrict access to areas of the walkway around the pools - these walkways are how you move between the facilities - due to weddings. The weddings are beautiful, but extremely inconvenient for anyone not in attendance, especially if you didn't wear the right shoes for walking through the wet pool area. The private island is pretty. Great views all around. They run out of water and alcohol as well as towels very quickly. There does seem to be a few more covered options for relaxing by the water, but again, once you go for a dip, your chairs are poached - it is irrelevant if you leave your stuff in them. My personal favorite is the small hut out on the rocks, ocean all around. Views are breathtaking. Overall, it is relaxing early in the morning. You can sit and listen to the ocean without interruption. The private island, in my experience, is much more peaceful than the main resort. The food is equal to that what you would find at chain restaurants in the states, just in much smaller quantities. The staff is amazing. The service is wonderful. The atmosphere here is fun and upbeat. I'd come back. PS don't forget your sunscreen! They do sell it in the gift shop, but it is $18 for a small bottle.
My husband and I went here on a day pass, and were very impressed with all the pools, bars and restaurants. So much to choose from! The snorkeling was great , but our favorite was the private island. If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil way to spend an afternoon, they have lots of hammocks and little personal cabanas with comfy lounges. We hung out over on the island almost all day. It was so relaxing!!! We would go back in a heartbeat. I have to say that the staff was what really impressed us the most. The front desk staff really know how to make you feel welcomed!!! Thank you to Jonay, Shervonda, Mirissa and Nikeshia for making our stay so outstanding!!! You are all the best!!!
We honeymooned at the Sandals Royal Bahamian and had a truly wonderful time! We were a part of Club Sandals with an ocean view room and everything was incredible and beautiful. We rated the food over all a 7.5 out of 10 but there was a wide variety of options and the seafood was delicious. Their private island was so peaceful and probably our favorite part of the resort. I look forward to trying a different Sandals in the future!
Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort is a great place for anyone looking to have a destination wedding or just for an awesome resort for a vacation. My husband and I traveled there for our dream wedding on December 12, 2018. We had a Butler level suite so we were greated by a Rolls Royce at the airport. That's when the luxury began. From that moment until the day we departed, we were treated with respect and class. The wedding department was awesome. On day 2 we met with Latora and her dynamic duo, Phylicia and Lucy. Our planning meeting was so relaxing and these ladies answered all our questions, made recommendations and above all, ensured us that our day would be perfect! When the wedding day came, these ladies incorporated our family in the ceremony and had every detail that we discussed. It was truly flawless. After the ceremony, they brought us cool towels for our face and water to drink. At the reception, our 4 course wedding meal and cocktail hour were great. The food was exceptional and there was no long wait time between courses. The cake was also delicious. I will truly miss this resort, but more importantly, my husband and I will miss the three special ladies that captured our hearts and made our wedding day, an occasion we will never forget. Latora. Phylicia, and Lucy, we feel like we've known you guys forever. You all are the best wedding team ever! Our butlers CJ and Hassan were exceptional from day 1. They decorated our room on numerous occasions and made the room extra special for our honeymoon night. They fulfilled all of our requests and pampered us by getting us special seating in restaurants and drinks by the pool. We will never forget these people and their hospitality. Thank you again for an exceptional experience.
This Sandals is a great place for you and your spouse to go and relax. It is not a long plane ride from the states. The prices are good since everything is included. The restaurants are really good and the staff is friendly and great.
Gorgeous resort. The staff is superb, the food is amazing and the rooms are very nice. If you want to party and participate in lots of activities then this is the place for you. If you want a romantic quiet and peaceful getaway it is still the place for you. The resort is big enough with multiple pools, bars and restaurants that you can do everything or nothing when you are a guest at Sandals Royal Bahamian. This was my 3rd visit.
My husband and I just returned from a 4 day stay in January 2019. We had a Butler corner suite on the party pool side-ocean facing with an extended balcony. The view was spectacular. The water is gorgeous and the private island is a must! The private island really makes the resort. Our Butlers weren t the A-team. Ian was really moody. We used the Butlers to order breakfast every morning, dinner each night, and they reserved us beach chairs two days but that was it. If you stay on the party pool side, you will hear the bass of music until 2am. I could sleep through it so it didn t bother me, but other guests were upset. Gordon s is a must! The food and the view were wonderful. We met another couple and dined at the Crystal Room together. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was delicious. Spices was just an okay restaurant. If you want long walks on the beach, this isn t your resort. The beach area is small which is why having the private island is really nice. However, the view for me made it all just fine. I found the servers and bartenders to be lovely despite some of the reviews we read. We watched the sunset each night around a fire pit. Bring a sweater or some long sleeves. It gets chilly in the evening. While we don t plan a second trip to this Sandals resort, we will be trying the other Sandals resort in the Bahamas next year.
