I have ordered multiple times from Rock auto the price was always right and delivery was always great. Even when messed up and ordered the wrong part the return was smooth and without problems. I'm a lifetime buyer once tried I'm sure you will be too.

Terrible. As a first time customer, I ordered two rotors to replace the brakes on my truck. The shipment arrived with two rotors that could not have been more wrong if they'd tried. Not what I'd ordered, not what was pictured on their site.
All of their "customer service" is automated and handled online, and as soon as I pay to ship back the parts that they incorrectly sent to me, they'll be happy to eventually give me a refund. What a ridiculous way for a mail-order company to function. First and last time using them.
Rock Auto is terrible. I ordered a part from them for a 2007 car and ended up recovering a part for a 1986 car. I will never use this website again. Awful experience.

Not only do they offer the part but many prices to chose from, due to manufacturers, makes and models. All of what I have ordered and installed have always been perfect and slipped on easily and quickly.
I am so pleased with ROCK Auto, and so happy I found them. Their website makes for ordering and seeing all ones options extremely easy and fast. Shipping comes fast, quickly and they always have a "track" on their orders making and giving you a time factor of its arrival.
Keep up the great work and service, and I will always go first to ROCK Auto, before I even go local, as the wait for parts (which is only a few days at most) is well worth it.
Buyer beware before using RockAuto for the following reasons: Their website is a nightmare to navigate and is not accurate, I was able to order and receive the wrong parts for my vehicle even when it was listed accurately. It is also a nightmare to cancel orders and won't let you cancel items after cancelling one item. They also charge random and different shipping charges for the same item on separate orders. You need to know the exact part numbers before ordering to not order wrong. If you do order parts in error or receive them, there is no customer service whatsoever, no chat, phone, or email, just the electronic web site. No one to fix things or complain to. The customer pays for shipping both directions even on parts incorrectly listed on their horrible site. Do not use them!!!

First off I've used RockAuto many times in the past. This review is based upon one of the parts that I had received and returned. The part I received came in an ordinary brown box that was destroyed by the postal service. It was for a Dodge Caravan Shift assembly and the part that came was for a floor shift to a sedan model car. This was highly dissapointing in itself. I immediately placed the part in a new box and shipped it back to rock auto and they will not refund me stating it needs to be in the manufacturer box. When in the first place it was shipped in an ordinary box almost like the one I shipped. This part cost over $165 plus the return shipping, they have lost my word of mouth for their business and quite possibly my future business. For being family owned I expected better.
Actually, Dan Thomas, I am a long time customer and have never had a problem. Some parts + shipping = same price and local purchase is faster. Other parts can save big bucks and shipping is very fast. All parts I have purchased from "The Rock" by me have been a great savings and have been the correct parts for my application. Good parts, especially hard to find ones. Shipping charges are however usually too much. Come here occasionally, but Amazon or Ebay will yield the parts I need without shipping costs. Hard to compete with that.
This company is absolute trash ! First of all there is zero customer service, you will NEVER talk to a person. All customer service is done through emails with numerous people. They have several warehouses, I ordered my parts and all were in stock at the closest warehouse to me except for one so I had to pay shipping from 2 warehouses. Wrong parts were sent to me and it is difficult to make returns. Their prices are a little cheaper but I'll pay $2 bucks more and avoid the headache of dealing with this company again!
No option to return and then determine if the part is ok, no one to actually talk to on their phone number just more automation. will not recommend. id rather pay twice the price at autozone and ACUTALLY HAVE A HUMAN TO TALK TO AND A RESONABLE RETURN POLICY than deal with this. will tell everyone i know to never buy parts from here, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I have an F22B and i am trying to find the right parts for my Japanese only motor, i ordered spark wires for an h23 hope they'd fit and they dont. i plugged one end in on one wire and now that it is INSTALLED it is not returnable. are you serious right now? and NO ONE TO TALK TO is the most annoying part of it all. yall suck period.

Great customer service to begin with but when I tried to get my $30 core charge they told me that I had to send it back in the original packaging. I sent all packaging they sent me back when I initially sent the core. When I tried to get further info from them they sent me an email that said my ticket was closed. I gather this is a loop hole they use on a regular basis to screw people out of the core charge they are promised. That alone made me question future dealings with them.
I have been using RockAuto for a few years now, I do a lot of work on my own cars and other cars. From Audi's to Hyundai to Acura to my old 93 BMW K1100 motorcycle. I get all sorts of things from them. I can't believe the prices and because I am in the Chicago area, many times I receive my parts the next day. Keep up the great work!
I would just like to share the experience I had with rockauto. I paid 18$ extra for expidited shipping. I received an email from rockauto confirming a Feb 18th delivery. I did not receive my part today Feb 18th. I called rockauto I spoke with customer service supervisor Adam. Adam advised me he would not refund the money and he assured me that he made the decision on behalf of rock auto and assured me there was no one else I could speak with. He refused to refund the shipping and hung up the phone . I wasn't even upset about not receiving my part I just asked for a refund on the expidited shipping. I would strongly reconsider buying anything from this company
Wanted to love this place. My dealer recommended I check them for parts for my mini. But sadly I have received the wrong parts for two orders and the headlight I ordered has broken pieces on the inside. Sigh.... and with no customer service available via phone I can t say that I will order again.
Bought on OEM hood for a Mazda Miata. The hood I received was steel, the Original Equipment hood is aluminum. E-mailed Rock Auto and was told that I coulD order an aluminum hood, but would have to pay separate shipping charges for the new hood and the return. I arranged to return the steel hood with Rock Auto s shipping label. Return shipping is more than half the cost of the hood. I then arranged a pickup time with Rock Auto s shipping company. Spent the entire day waiting for a truck, canceled a 5:00 pm meeting and at 5:15 called the shipper. I was told the office is closed, but trucks are still doing pickups. It s now 9:00 pm, no calls, no truck, no pickup! My time is obviously less valuable than Rock Auto s shipping contract. I will never buy from Rock Auto again, and I will spread the word to anyone who is tempted to save a few dollars on auto parts.

This by far the worst customer service that I have ever got. Every single representative I have gotten was rude!!! I'm guessing it is a small business where the reps do what they want. Each rep spoke with me as if I was annoying them and my business wasn't worth their time. It will never happen again. I would rather spend the extra cash where my money is appreciated. Even when I asked to speak with someone in management they ignored the request. I do not see how they thrive as a business. Honestly the reviews they have are paid reviews.

Worst experience I have ever had buying a part!!!! They shipped me the wrong part and I told my customer that their part would be in today 3/3/2017. I called customer service and they told me that they didn't control what parts went out and they can send me a new part but it would be another week before they would ship it to me. I asked him why this was my fault and why they couldn't make it right. He said that if I didn't like the process he could issue a refund and I didn't need to shop with Rock Auto anymore.
I loved RockAuto up until this point I bought a whole bunch of parts for a vehicle two similar parts that I bought one for the right side of the vehicle one for the left side of the vehicle the boxes were same part number but the part inside of the box was different and before I can do anything without no customer service or nobody there physically talk to they want me to e-mail them a list of the parts that were bought all this extra work for me. when it was their mistake not mine so here I am having to pay for their mistakes to keep a part that I don't need or want

Customer service is absolutely terrible! The savings in price were not worth the headache in my experience. I'll now miss a deadline because of their issues. Shipping was fast, sure, but the product arrived damaged, twice! They literally wrapped a parts box in some tape and sent it like that. As a result, the ball joint stud stuck through the box resulting in damage. Not only that, but you could see a hole in the box where it happened before and they just taped over it! And this was a replacement for a previously damaged part. They then said they would not ship another one because they "were not confident it would not happen again." It's not that hard to put a part in a shipping box with some bubble wrap! I really had high hopes for this company, but now I'm just left bummed that I spent several hundred dollars with them. Lesson learned!
I recently ordered a wheel Arch trim for my Jeep Grand Cherokee when
it arrived and noticed it was damaged. When I went to start a claim on the
part on their website it cannot find my order and even when I had my order
list sent to me it does not show up. There was a crucial clip that was broken on the part you sent and the quality of the
part overall is very low compared to OEM. Lastly when I tried to email them about their problem they sent me and automatically generated email response telling me to start a returns process the same one I described above aa not even working. Buyers beware as if they send you the wrong part you will be on the hook for it and likely not even able to return it.

A lot of other online parts supplier offers free delivery and such, but trust me after viewing rock auto prices and then experience how fast you get your part (and it's always what you order, no mistakes) you'll never worry with those other places again. Unfortunately, my order was for the auto rock catalog and the pieces were not the ones that sent me because I lost my money. For not knowing what to do. However delivery was quick.
I ordered a rear fuel tank for a 1993 ford f150 and when the tank arrived and I was ready to install the product I discovered that there was a gash in the metal that was on the seam of the tank, when customer service was called and informed about the problem it was met with a matter of fact attitude and I was told that I would have to go online set up a return refund. Then in order to get my Item promptly I would have to purchase a new tank out of pocket and wait for up to two weeks for a refund from the first purchase of the bad tank .. When I explained that I didn't like that I had to put more money oil of pocket due to their error I was told WE ARE FIXING THE PROBLEM AND PAYING FOR THE SHIPPING, but still I'm out of pocket twice and still with no useable product. This consumer will not use ROCK AUTO again for parts to any of my vehicles.

I'm a first time customer,
I purchased a valve cover gasket set for a 2001 dodge Dakota 4.7L engine, and the gaskets are way to large to fit into the groove in the valve cover. When I tried to return the gaskets after purchasing another set at the local auto parts house, I found out how bad of a decision I made dealing with this rockauto!
first off, They sent the wrong product! and now they are saying they will only replace the part cost and not the near $20 shipping cost when this error is on their end! for a package that weighs around 8-10 ounces mind you!
let me not forget, they try and act as though they are giving the customers the best value compared to other comparable companies, but after doing some research, in hindsight I learned they are Nickle and diming you with shipping cost so much so that after discovering the cost of my local part store, the part was pretty much the same cost when you factor their outrageous shipping costs. and the parts store will give me back the entire purchase amount if the part turns out to be wrong! not a 1/3 of the purchase cost and hide the rest behind shipping cost.
just think on this,
your local parts house has to figured in their shipping cost as well even when purchasing parts for next day delivery, because they have too! and they give you back all your money especially when they learn it's not your fault. it's just good customer service!
Also, if you have any concerns about their parts or issues like I have with a wrong part or part that doesn't fit as described, they have literally no customer service that you can contact to get your issue resolved, outside of being forced to accept eating the high shipping cost even after they've sent a part that doesn't fit or that is wrong.
my advice is learn from my mistake when dealing with rockauto, do your research first meaning put the items you wish to buy in the cart and look at the shipping cost and add up the total, then compare that total cost with other comparable companies and see if the price is really that much cheaper and remember you will eat your shipping cost if they send the wrong part!
It's my opinion that you get better service at your local parts store or places like Amazon! than these people.

BUYER BEWARE.TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE even though their site advertises exceptional customer service using "cutting edge technology" to provide the best possible customer service. LIARS. I provided all info their site requested of me. They sent a kit according to only the info their site had quarried. WRONG KIT for my application. When I contacted them, since I had installed the first 2 parts in order of succession and then found the 3rd and last part (belt) wasn't long enough, they refused to rectify the situation by exchanging the uninstalled belt for one of the correct length. Tried to file a complaint with the BBB, I kept getting Error Code 404 as though the information they have given is either old or has changed. HOW CONVENIENT! (FOR THEM THEY THINK). I will not give up until they send me the right part. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Their are enough other online parts stores that provide much better service (Auto Anything for example). Let's make these people either clean up their act or put them out of business

Been a ASE certified tech for forty years and have always gotten better pricing then auto stores and have become a better businessman due to better scheduling due to shipping times needed to receive parts.

I ordered a fuel pump assembly for my truck and got it in 7 days which included Easter weekend. The dealer wanted over &00 plus taxes and over 2 weeks to get in and a local store wanted 490 plus taxes and over 2 weeks to get it in. And I bought it from RockAuto for 260 taxes and shipping included and shipped to Newfoundland Canada from New York. I will order from them again.
Saddens me because this was my go to parts store but when they sent me the wrong struts where I had a mechanic try to install it and took up several of his labor hours up, he insisted it was the wrong part. It was the wrong part and rockauto called me to tell me they ll give me 100% refund (no duh), I asked if I can get compensated somehow to cover the labor costs, send a discount on the next order they said that s not their policy. Such BS, I have to pay the mechanic twice out of pocket for the wrong part sent. Not how you do business RA

I spent over an hour attempting to check out with the parts i found on rock auto....But their site does not work properly and started crashing then refused to go to check out at all. I am ordering parts for 3 cars i am working on and now i am searching for another auto parts provider because i am buying these parts today.
Do not buy! They literally have no customer service people responding to emails, so if you have a problem you are out of luck. Crammed a part inside a box and bent it. Asked for a replacement but did not get it. Update customer service never responded but a week later I finally got the replacement part. Beyond terrible.
Excellent service with great prices/fast shipping. Have noticed over the past year that more and more parts for my older cars are "On back order"..have yet to receive any "tell me when the part is in stock" email requests. Seems like "No longer available" would be more accurate in these cases.

Ordered parts for my car. They arrived and I discovered that they do not fit my car. Ultimately, the part in their catalog was wrong, so wrong part arriving at my door was not my fault. They refunded the part cost, but I still ended up paying the $6 initial shipping for that part. RockAuto paid for the return shipping only, saying it wasn't their fault either but they would graciously split the shipping cost with me. Went to the website to find a customer service number or email. Zip, nada, only a corporate headquarters number. Never buying from RockAuto again. I can order the same parts on Ebay and if they arrive and don't fit the seller eats the cost of their own mistake, rather than passing it on to the customer. Ebay also has better customer service options. At least I can call or email someone about an issue.
But the best part was when I went to the RockAuto website and left a negative review. Months later they still have not posted my review, and they apparently don't allow ANY negative reviews because only positive 5 star reviews are listed. Do a Google search and you will find a dozen other review websites full of awful customer experiences with RockAuto. I will never buy from them again.
No customer service available either on website or by phone. Parts damaged in shipment and had to reorder, no ability to make good on original order, took weeks to get money back on original order. Had to repay shipping a second time for second order at a premium this time because the first was damaged and vehicle was down while they deliberated first failure. Poor experience all the way around.
Ordered a steering rack, put it in car was defective.sent the rack back and got another one. Excellent product.
