I ordered a 2005 Honda Accord starter for automatic transmission. I was shipped the completely wrong part. The part number I ordered was 17870N and I was shipped 17970N. I was holding on the part as backup till my old started died. A year later the starter died and when I went to replace it that's when I realized that I was shipped the wrong part so I had to go out and buy the right part from the local auto zone. I contacted rockauto about this issue and they stated they have a 30 day return policy and it was past a year. Evidently they do not have a policy on shipping the wrong parts to the customers. This is the first time I used rockauto and it will be my last.
You have 0 customer service people. I have ordered multiple times from you. Yeah your prices are pretty dang good. The annoying part is that this time you sent me the wrong gasket for the oil pan i just ordered from you. Together lol. You sent me the gasket for the crank case. Lord have mercy. Now i have to send it back and nope waiting for a new one. I have to now go to the parts store to buy a oil pan gasket since you are not intelligent enough to get it right.
I ordered an exhaust kit for my camaro at about lunch time on this past Friday and when I woke up Saturday morning it was at the door. And it was about $100 cheaper from rock auto than to have a local shop do the exhaust and it sounds pretty good.
Rock Auto not recommended. I paid $35.00 extra for 2 day delivery for 2 packages and The one package didn't show up until the 5th day after I ordered it. The guy on the phone said he would only refund me $10.00. I told him I would never buy from them again and he said not a problem. I should have been refunded all I paid for the delivery.

Just ordered some more parts. I have ordered from rockauto before and I have not had any problems with the material I ordered. I had to send something back once and I had no trouble. So far all the parts were top notch.
Rock Auto has the best prices on a decent selection of quality parts. You get to select the shipping method and you can even split the payment (something I've never seen on other auto parts sites). I should have my parts in time for a weekend repair job; if they arrive as expected, I'll be a very happy customer.
Cheap prices but awful delivery times with FedEx and absolutely no service.
Their prices are definitely lower than most (though if you shop around you can sometimes find parts cheaper including shipping). And their customer service is ok. However their shipping can be a rip-off. More than once I've needed a part in a moderate hurry (didn't need it over-nighted but couldn't wait 5 days for it either). Because of the way the site is set-up, instead of just calculating the transit time from whatever warehouse the part is in to the shipping address, it just gives you a range of time with a "should receive" date of the longest possible shipping time. This means that you often have to over-pay for faster shipping for a part that is warehoused very close to you. I've been told by CS that it's not possible to give accurate times for shipping due to them having multiple warehouses, but if that's true, then how is it possible to calculate shipping cost, and why is it that most other sales sites can give you an accurate transit time and cost? The shipping process really needs to be updated. Either let the customer know where the part is housed, or provide more accurate shipping times.
Takes forever to get your parts. I wish you'd get your parts as fast as they take your money. Never again will I use Crock Auto!
I have purchased several orders from Rock Auto. The website has easy to negotiate catalog. Service is prompt; shipping costs are reasonable. There ave been no errors. One part arrived in a damaged package, was damaged, and was promptly replace.d.
The quality of parts have been excellent, and usually I have been able to source parts from original equipment manufacturers at very low prices, resulting in substantial savings.
I highly recommend them as a source for your automotive parts needs.
Rebuilt the front end of my 1983 Chevy 4x4 pickup via Rock Auto parts. The parts had an excellent price point and quality was good (Chinee parts mostly). They shipped all my parts from different warehouses all over the country, the parts made it in OK, but just a bit of patience waiting for all the deliveries. All in all a very good deal!
Rockauto charged my credit card after they themselves cancelled my order with no reason given. Long time customer. No way to communicate with the company through email or web support. Save yourself the hassle get your parts somewhere else. Sort the Google Reviews by low star ratings and you will see all the frustrated customers in the past few weeks alone. I think there is a systemic problem with this company.

I seen their add on TV, and we were having a problem finding a part we needed. So I checked it out and it was. We have used the site a lot since then. They have every thing we need. At a great price. At least 15% to 75% less then the local part store.

We were sold and sent the wrong part but because we waited for my son to return home from college to fix it - it was past 30 days when we made the discovery. Take my advise and be wary when doing business with this company, they do not stand behind their products or their company. Feels like an online scam, better buy from a major company that stands behind their products!

Ordered gaskets on April 6th. It is now April 20th and my parts still have not arrived. Tracking info says the package has been local since the 9th...it's now April 20th and can't contact Rockauto to find a resolution. I understand this may be an issue with FedEx but have ordered other parts from other companies since using them as my shipper and they have all arrived. I will NEVER use Rockauto again!
I have been buying, from Rock Auto for years. I have always found a wide range of choices at a wide range of prices. You pick your own poison as they say. To be honest, I have had great results across the wide range of options.
I've probably funnelled 10k through them over 10+ yrs. Customer service is a 0 and always has. It's designed to be mostly serve yourself. Generally emails come back condescending or blaming you, regardless the issue. If you reply back they will concede, I'd assume because the second one can read and realized the mistake. They will use warranty exchanges against you, as if you're abusive to their profits for exercising a manufacturer promise. I have an entire refrigerator of magnets and a tool box. It's difficult for me since I refer so many and any time they act like this I spend the following $500 elsewhere. Like why take the loss?? Act right.
I have ordered a engine control module they have sent the wrong part twice returns are a hassle have to take it to a drop off spot if they drop it at our door they should pick it up right back where they dropped it off and should overnight the right part at their cost but nope I have to pay for that myself not right to do to a first time customer.
Recently I purchased rear brake drums (Pronto bd8839) listed as fitting 1964 Buick Sportwagon. Because I know for a fact front and rear drums are the same I ordered 4. Now I own 4 (expensive) paper weights. Despite numerous attempts to prove their site is wrong, Rockauto insists otherwise.
1/ Photos showing differences between their drums and mine did not help. I have 2 Sportwagons - 8 drums-all the same part #s-all2.5in wide. Bd 8839 drums are for 2in wide brake shoes.
2/ Copy from Sportwagon Service Manual brake page showing they are different from sedans and estate wagons.---Still no joy!
3/ Copy from Buick Club USA magazine detailing the larger drums (and wheel cylinders) you have guessed it--still no comments.
4/ Provided link to Antique Car Club of America members answer to my question for confirmation---he stated front and rear drums are the same (2.5in)
5/ Rockauto said they sold 100+ of these drums for this vehicle (64 Sportwagon) and no fitment problems. Not ONE would have been fitted to a Sportwagon UNLESS they had been fitted with a sedan rear axle assembly. Surely 100+ Sportwagon owners have not done that!!!!
6/ 25 other suppliers of bd8839 state NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 1964 BUICK SPORTWAGON. Perhaps they are all wrong?? Rockauto comment "can't trust Ebay listings".

I also realize that this purchase is well over 30 day time limit for returns etc. ( however shipping heavy items to New Zealand normally takes much longer) and returning them would cost more than the value of the drums. However I think some compensation or a sizable discount on my next order for 4 correct brake drums would be in order.
Now for the good news-----I have purchased numerous parts from Rockauto---no problems and good value. I have also stated that I will continue to support the Company. I have more than a dozen USA built cars and most will need spare parts at some stage.

P.S. Last evening I emailed another supplier of the same drums who also incorrectly listed them as fitting 64 Sportwagon and informed them of their mistake. Within 24 hrs I had a reply thanking me for the correct information.

In the midst of a terrible experience. This is the second time I've used them. The first time was excellent. This time someone in their system made a mistake and now I am being made responsible to find and fix their error. They shipped a package that had the correct transit number affixed to it, but it wasn't my order. Now they refuse to track the error and expect me, their customer, to do their work for them. Meanwhile I am still without my parts. Obviously if everything goes right they are great to deal with, but if they screw up, you, their " VALUABLE" customer, get it in the ear.

Ordered and received heater blower motor resister for my Colorado almost a year ago and when I questioned about having to replace it again, I was told to order an new one and a refund would be issued. Great customer service and treatment.

I purchased a reman compressor and 5 days later received it, the compressor lasted a whole 2 days. After running diagnostics the Diode needed to be replaced. Ordered the doide from Rock Auto, 5 days later I received the wrong part. After a week and a half of searching finally found the right doide, only to find that it was the compressor all along. Unable to be down for another 5 to 10 days to another reman, Ordered a brand new compressor from my local parts store for only $50 more than what I paid Rock Auto for the reman. Rock Auto refuses to refund. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

I have used RockAuto many times and have always saved a ton of money. I have never had any shipping or quality problems from them. If you don't need to get it repaired immediately and can wait on something being shipped, RockAuto is the best way to go. Recently needed a window regulator replaced in my '06 Mustang convertible. A $650+ repair through the dealership. $137 including shipping, and a motorcraft replacement regulator was delivered in less than a week. 45 minutes of easy work and my window works again!!! $500+ saved!!

It's pretty easy to find and order parts. The lower prices are worth the wait.
Low prices and fast shipping. The only thing you need to do is make sure you are ordering the right parts to start with - returns can be a hassle. Also, the cheapest priced part they show for a specific application isn't always a good idea - it's the cheapest for a reason. Go with name-brand parts and you will be happy.
If you are reasonably educated about auto repair, Rock Auto will save you a lot of money. If you don't know what you are doing (like some negative reviewers), then you should probably pay someone else to do it for you.
I'm living in Poland, Europe and still use my old 1994 Pontiac Trans Sport 3800. Bought some parts for few times and I'm satisfied with both: parts quality and service.
There was a problem twice (e.g. DHL repacked and lost one part) but they acted quickly and effectively and I received next package within 5 days.
However international shipping cost could be cheaper!
I ordered the wrong parts. Returned them. The prepaid label that they provide was very very wrong. That price for that provided label was $40.81 and would be taken out of the total refund of the parts. Well that label did not work so I had to pay out of pocket for the proper label. I emailed customer service about it and they said they would not charge me for the return label. So I should ve received the total $230.87 spent on parts. I only received $89.74. After I printed out multiple times to a person named Maxwell through email that I wasn t refunded the full amount because they still charged me for the bad label and taxed me. Which has never happened with any other online refund. I was blocked so I can t send customer service anymore emails and I m out $141.13 of my money. So I do not recommend buying from them because they take your money after you foot the bill to return the parts then block you when you call the out. I have emails, bank statements and a tracking number from Fedex showing it was returned. They stole my money and I m not happy at all. The person who informed me of the full refund($230.87) and not being charged the $40.81 for the label. So I should have received the full $230.87 but I only got $89.74.
Customer "service" is not Rock Autos strong suit. Between condescending reps and the unavailability of a manager, or one willing to contact a customer requesting a phone call, they seriously have a lot to learn about how to make a customer whole again following a mistake on Rock Autos part. Lost a once loyal customer with a terrible transaction.

This place is a joke!! I ordered parts that I didn t receive. The packages were delivered and I believe the packages were stolen by someone in my complex. When I contacted the company I was told by a pathetic employee that I can not receive a replacement!? And I should file a report with my home owners insurance?! Really! Never again!!
Quality of parts suck. All the items that I purchased didn't meet factory specs or quality. Door seals and gaskets didn't fit or the quality was so bad that the old originals were better. I guess you get what you pay for.
After selling us products for the past decade, they have most recently decided to find multiple excuses to not fulfill a 3 yr warranty on front brakes we paid $132 for, partly enticed by their advertised warranty. They repeatedly produce invalid excuses and random conflicting references for not honoring the warranty, that do not address the specific circumstances we clearly present to them regarding these deteriorating brake rotors. Don't expect any reasonable customer service or honest representation of reliability from this company.

Ordered 18 items including 7 clearance items and after payment and shipping confirmation was told that the clearance items were no longer available. The part number is still a good number and they still stock the part number but refuse to sell the item at the reduced price i was quoted. Their claim is the item quantity was never updated to show zero left at that price. My contention is there is no reason why they cannot ship the same part number at the reduced rate due to their mistake.

BEWARE!! HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY! Used these guys for a while, never again... Purchased a power brake booster ($200) that died within a month. I started the return process but their system showed 0 in stock so I had to buy the part elsewhere. They now inform me that they do not do returns, only part-for-part exchange and my only option is to return it for the core charge or exchange it for another and try to sell it. After about a dozen emails where Mark S., Luke and Ryan all called me a liar (their system says it was in stock), I'm done with these guys. Crappy customer service and being out $200 isn't worth trying to save a few bucks with these guys. Took me 10 minutes to even find an email link on their website and no phone numbers to call...

Once you get a hang of the website its pretty easy to find nearly any part you need, I live in a area where there are four automotive retail stores blocks from each-other. Used to I would travel to each one to find the best price, or to even find the part I was looking for... Since I started buying from Rock Auto.. I haven't had to waist time finding the best deal, or trying to find the hard to get part and wasting time, energy, and gas. It's also nice to see different brands to choose from for some parts as well. I will shop here for nearly any part I need to get for my vehicles from now on.

I ordered two rear wheel bearing kits for my 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Each kit includes a bearing and a bearing retainer. The retainer is necessary to replace because you need to cut the old one off to get the bearing off. It's impossible to press off.
I received the order about four days later, happy to get my car put together and back on the road. When I opened the package though, there was one box with a bearing and a retainer and another box that was flimsy, like it had been moved around a lot. I opened that box, and there was just a bearing, no retainer. I was disappointed.
I called customer service and told the guy (didn't get his name) about the missing retainer, and told him I just wanted to return the bearing, sans retainer, for a refund on the one item. He sent me a return label immediately. I was pleased with that transaction.
I called again shortly thereafter when I couldn't find any of the bearing/retainer kits locally and asked Cory if I could order a new kit from RockAuto. Because it was RockAuto's fault the retainer was missing (the package was still sealed with RockAuto tape when it arrived), I asked if the company could upgrade a new order to expedited at no cost. It would have cost the company maybe $10-15 to send it a little quicker to correct their mistake.
Cory told me the company couldn't do that. He said they could only ship it the same speed as the first order.
I'm sorry, but I feel that $10-15 for a company to make good on a bad purchase isn't too much to ask.
I told Cory to not worry about the order, and I ordered another bearing/retainer kit from an eBay seller for less money. I preferred to deal with RockAuto, because I've dealt with them before. I like to stick with a company that does well by me. Unfortunately, RockAuto couldn't acknowledge their mistake and help me get my car back on the road a little quicker following their packaging mistake.
I'll not be shopping on RockAuto anymore, and I'll be sending a letter with my return detailing the reason.

Please note that this review is ONLY about this one transaction, and not Rock Auto in general. I'm satisfied with engine parts I have ordered from Rock Auto, but will NEVER (unless I have absolutely no other choice) buy body parts again from them. My part was damaged and scratched prior to shipping, but was shipped anyways. Packing was great, part cost $14, shipping cost $37. They will replace it, but expect ME to pay shipping to return the defective part. I didn't scratch it, I shouldn't have to pay again to get a good part, which is what I paid for. I refuse to pay over $72 in shipping for a $14 part especially since I can't guarantee they won't ship another damaged part. JC Whitney, one of JC Whitney's associates, and Amazon all took care of any problems I had with their damaged or wrong parts at their own expense, yet Rock Auto won't. Don't buy body parts there!

I have purchased 2 mass air flow sensors both of which causes vehicle to shift hard as well as multiple misfires and speed sensor codes. Not sure if products are defective but I am not pleased with either of my purchases.

These guys sell some majorly cheap auto parts. If ANYTHING goes wrong with the order. You are not going to get your money back very easily. if you do get anything back or exchange the item(s), you are paying for return shipping, regardless of why the item needs returned. It could have arrived destroyed and mangled, but you will pay for return shipping.
Take your chances or just pay a more reputable company a few dollars more for dependable service. I'll not buy from these folks in my future. I'd rather pay Autozone, Oreilly, Napa, or Advance Auto, they give hassle free warranties.
Beware of this company! Absolutely non existent customer service. I ordered a condenser for my 2005 Toyota Tundra. I properly identified my vehicle but Rock Auto sent the wrong part. They have no customer service phone number or online chat help. They refuse to cover shipping on the part which was 1/3 of the cost of the part. Now I am stuck with paying $30 shipping when I did nothing wrong and there is no one I can speak to about it. This is not the way to run a company!
