Oak Tree Mobility Review

No idea whether their chairs are any good because the chair hasn't made it to production after months. A catalogue of pretty unconvincing excuses, seriously up pushing the original sale, over charging and contractory information throughout. meanwhile my elderly mum has had two falls. avoid

Very pleasent experience. The gent that denonstrated the bed was superb and knowledgable. My new bed is very comfortable and I'm finally getting a good nights sleep. So thank you Oak Tree Mobility.

The bath lift is wonderful. My husband really loves it. He used it the same day as it was fitted. The fitter was top class and worked well explaining how it worked even though the salesman had already demonstrated before we bought.

Salesman arrived on time and was polite, but otherwise I was very disappointed with our meeting (to possibly purchase a chair for my mother). From what he said you would have thought he was a top class doctor but quite a lot of his sales talk was inaccurate or inconsistent.
One of their claims is that they measure each client and produce a chair exactly matched to their size (with 3 size measurements and weight). He simply discussed briefly and then said he'd work on my mother's rough estimate of height and weight. Also said that they might have chairs the right size in stock from cancelled orders.

Yes, it's good that they visit, but you are paying a massive amount for this convenience.

Having bought a reclining chair my parents had problems with the product . Having contacted the company the issues were all resolved to our complete satisfaction . I have to say having spoke to the owner , he is a man of his word and his integrity is without question . Thanks you and keep up the great work

My parents have recently purchased a 3 piece suite from you, and as any concerned son would be, I wanted to be present when the assessor visited (you can only be careful). I am very pleased to say there was no pushy sale at all, lots of time taken with them explaining their choices

After the usual hard sell and generous discounts our chair arrived on time and to specs. We did not request arm caps at the time of order but ordered two pairs some weeks after delivery of the chair.

They arrived quite promptly but did not fit - about 3 too short. When phoned, Oak Tree said they would remake to the correct size and would send a bag for us to return the faulty caps. Nothing happened until another phone call resulted in them sending, not the bags, but another pair of caps exactly the same (wrong) size as before.

Another phone call and agreed that they would get their representative to call and see the problem first hand. Nothing happened until a week later when we received a return bag which would hardly hold one cap let alone eight!

A week later after no response from Oak Tree. I phoned the Rep direct but no answer so
I left a message requesting him to phone me. No response.



This Company s selling is aggressive but their after sales service is appalling. I do not like publishing any sort of review, good or bad, but perhaps it is the only way to make Oak Tree respond as they promised.

The chair was purchased for my mother in her care home. Very happy with the quality of the chair itself but feel let down by the delivery times stated. When I called to make the initial appointment for a sales visit I was told delivery is 2-3 weeks for in-stock items but slightly longer for custom made. The salesman on the day suggested delivery would be 4-5 weeks. In the end it was almost 7 weeks. Nice as the chair is we would have looked elsewhere to compare had we know how long the wait was going t be.

Relaxed atmosphere when discussing my options and what I required from the bed, no pressure. Delivery was quick and delivery men were polite and considerate. The bed is better than I could have hoped for I am so pleased. It is much less noisy than my old craftmatic bed and I can watch tv without having to turn the sound up whither adjusting the height or massaging. I use the massager for an hour each night and my back has never felt so good. Would recommend this to anyone.

Recently ordered an adjustable bed for my grandma. She finds it so comfortable and easy to use, it's really changed her life. The service we received was fantastic and everyone we spoke with was so friendly. Thanks so much!

So disappointed, ive been waiting a long time for my lovely bed but I'm so disappointed because the headboard was soaked and 1 of the mattresses was completely soaked through so now I'm left with a soggy headboard and my old mattress which i hoped i would never see again, so much for a good night's sleep ggrrrrr

I bought my Mum an Oaktree Mobility chair and a stairlift and we are absolutely delighted with them, the service is second to none and the build quality is exceptional. The installation of the stairlift was quick and clean, the engineers were very polite and really nice chaps. The stairlift is quiet, very safe and easy to operate.
These 2 items have transformed my Mums life, thank you Oaktree Mobility, good job.

There were no prices available online or in a brochure ( which I didn t receive until salesman arrived).

The salesman was pleasant but you are pressured to make a decision on the spot . I was also very tired after 4 hours .He was very insistent that if I didn t put a deposit down I would lose the discount he had negotiated for me. I was also told by the salesman Lee that I would get my money back in 4 minutes if I changed my mind. I have , and I don t know when I will get a refund 14 days now they tell me ..
The customer services do not answer the phone as promptly as they do in sales, thank goodness I changed my mind .

I do not believe that they make this furniture especially for each client. I m sure they have 3 or 4 standard sizes .
My advice to anyone reading this : HSL full price furniture is same as OAK TREE prices AFTER ALL OF THEIR DISCOUNTS .
The only positive I can give is that they have massage and heat function in their chairs/sofas but you will pay a very high price for it. The choice of furniture is very limited

My advice if you book an appointment , give them a time slot and say you have to go out .
DONT make a decision straight away and DONT give them any money . You will not get it back in 4 minutes !!!!

We were really happy with pretty much everything about our dealings with Oaktree. We made contact when it became clear my aunt needed help standing from her chair. They got her situation quickly & sent a lady consultant to assess her needs. She laid out the options to us clearly without being at all pushy. The chair was excellent and the price fair. Job well done.

We have not yet placed an order but the company representative that came at our request, Mr Brent Milne to demonstrate & answer our questions was personable, courteous & knowledgable about his product, So far a pleasant experience.

Oak mobility have in our experience been professional, friendly and caring. The chair we chose has been extremely helpful to my husband ,s wellbeing. He feels his circulation is improving slightly by using the massage program. The chair is very comfortable having various positions to relax in. The heat mode is beneficial to his aching joints and warms his body as he feels the cold constantly which makes him feel quite poorly.
It is an expense but affordable payments help us to overcome the financial problem of purchasing such a bespoke piece of quality furniture. If necessary in the future we will purchase other types of furniture to help with his mobility and comfort. Thank you Oak mobility. Anne Noble.

Disgusting customer morals. My grandparents ordered 2 chairs after being told they were 'made to measure' not once has a tape measure ever graced this house. The first chairs were collected and reply with another pair of 'made to measure' chairs. Again, not once has a tape measure been in this house. Delivery drivers even looked at the chairs and said there were far too large for my grandparents. They have had several phonecalls and visits from people claiming that they were from Oak Tree Mobility however upon discussions not one of these people according to other members of your company.

I am currently sat in one of these chairs at 5'9 my grandparents are just above 5' I have been sat in the chair for 30 minutes and I cannot touch the floor with my feet, I have chronic pain in my back and legs due to such poor fitting chairs. Not fit for purpose.

I have been in contact on their behalf via email and they have replied yet they have denied this also.

Avoid.

Rep Neil who visited first was very helpful and informative.Chair delivered on time in six weeksDelivery team very friendly but arrived early, time slot was 9 to 12 and they arrived at 8.45.I had to pop out on an emergency so my elderly mother was alone. She asked them to wait for me to return but they seemed to be in a hurry.She felt they did not explain the workings of the chair properly or the emergency power pack and how to use it. It had been agreed with Neil that they would separate the beds that were brought ten years ago but my mother was told that it was really easy to do and it wasn't done. I arrived home as they were leaving about 9.20. Chair great but feel a little disappointed about delivery and felt they could have explained things a little better to my 85 year old mother.

When I call I was not expecting to have the appointment for awhile but come with few days as we re in the area, the man that came made my mum feel at ease and answered all worries she had. She choice the fabric and style of chair and had a great demonstration on the chair he brought with him, would highly recommend to anyone definitely recommend to family and friends.

I found the customer service to be excellent from start to finish.
I'm very happy with the quality of my recliner chair and how easy it is to use. I would gladly recommend Oak Tree to friends.

If you send for a brochure online and tick the box to not be contacted, still expect them to harass the heck out of you! Tell your parents and grandparents to hang up when they call as they use very hard sell techniques.

I review this company on behalf of a friend who clicked the 'request a brochure' link on the Oak Tree Mobility website. He received a hard-sell phone call at 8.30 the next morning. He is a vulnerable adult and soon was being directed towards agreeing to a salesperson visiting his home. This left my friend considerably distressed. Requesting a brochure should not entail an over-persuasive telephone sales call. No stars.

I am very happy with both the product and the service we have received from Oaktree. The bed is so easy to use. It has made my mother's life much more comfortable, and both our lives easier (she is 91 and almost completely bed bound). The initial meeting and demonstration were great and the people who delivered the new bed and took away the old one were polite, efficient and tidy. So far a really positive experience.

After many weeks of searching around for a new rise and recline chair, I was thankful to come across Oak Tree. The speedy service and informative demonstration carried out by their very knowledgeable advisor confirmed I'd made the right decision. I'd not heard of Oak Tree before but after reading so many wonderful reviews I knew they would be able to provide the right chair for me. I already had a rise and recline chair but needed the extra high leg lift, as advised by my occupational therapist. The chair that was shown to me had this function and after just 30 minutes in the chair I could really feel the difference. All the staff have been very courteous throughout and I would like to thank them all for helping me.

Had a stairlift fitted 18 months ago. Last Monday I rang to say that it wasnt working and it took until Friday for an engineer to attend. Told me the motor had gone and would need replaced. I have contacted Oaktree again today and they have not received a report from the engineer so cant do anything until they do. In the meantime my elderly mother is having a dreadful time getting up the stairs and has resorted to staying in her bedroom. I have rang this company several times over the last week and have never received one call back. Poor customer service ! 3 weeks later. I still have no stair lift. I have rang on numerous occasions and only yesterday a new carriage was installed however engineers did not have the knowledge of how to programme it. Rang this morning for update said it was in hand. Rang again 4.45 pm - nothing has been done again. Advised that next call will be from an engineer. My poor mother looks like she is spending Christmas away from her family. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY !!!!! They never ring you back. APPALLING AFTER SALES SERVICE !!!! Tried to remove the one star however it wouldnt let me.

The people of oak Tree were very understanding and quick in my case as the stair lift I purchased was for my mother they came and got through all the necessary stages before my mother returned from the hospital. She is now using it and it gas given her back the full use of the house and some of her normality back. I would definitely recommend them to anyone if fact I have to my uncle.

My elderly, fiercely independent uncle, has been so pleased with his bath lift. It has extended his independence and allowed him to maintain his dignity. From a customer experience perspective the service of Oak Tree was first class throughout. I thoroughly recommend this company. I recently dealt with Oaktree to purchase my dad a bed and chair. Their service was fantastic from beginning to end from Sales team through to delivery. I cannot fault them and would recommend anyone to use them. Its nice to know that there are companies out there that still care about the customer first and foremost.

I have posted a review on here before under the same name, Oaktree mobility had initially pushed back on replacing my fathers chair as it was nearly 2 years old, and at the end of its warranty, however after discussing with their senior management they agreed to replace the chair for my father at no additional cost, I am a firm beleiever that we are all allowed to make mistakes but its what you do to fix them that is far more important, Oaktree stepped up and showed true professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction, the replacement chair has now been delivered to my father and I cannot thank Oaktree enough for their help, but more importantly their kindness toward my father, finally a company with a heart

Very pleasant installer. Very professional , cleaned up nicely. Pleasure to have in the house. Patient enough to show elderly parents how to use the lift. Would highly recommend anytime and every time.

From having a visit from the salesman (sorry I forgot his name) to having the chair delivered I found the staff very helpful. The chair is exactly what I wanted and I enjoy using the heater and vibrator! I did contact the company as I wanted to know about switching off the standby light for long periods and they returned my call with instructions which were very helpful. Overall I am completely satisfied.

Unsolicited mail constantly coming through the door, clearly they have bought my details as I have certainly never asked for their services being in my mid 30's and a tree surgeon. If this is their sales technique I'd stay away

Dreadful company - you have been warned - the warranty on my father in laws riser chair is not worth the paper it is printed on. Broken after 18 months and they won't honour the warranty.

From the start; i.e. the salesman, all the way through the process, to receiving the chair was a very pleasant experiance, i would do it again, HOWEVER iam down to my last pack of chocky hob nobs and will have to start saveing some pennies. My father invited the consultant in for a discussion on riser chairs and beds.

Both my parents felt extremely pressured and stressed by the whole experience

It seemed the consultant would not take no for an answer and provided various different prices even asking my father what would be the most he would pay?

The presentation even included a call to his manager to see if he could secure a last minute discount -something I haven t experienced since a timeshare presentation and a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner sales pitch
Whilst on the phone to his boss he said I have Mr Burley with me who wants to buy something really special for his wife. In my opinion that is a bit cheap and pressured

The consultant was at my parents for two and half hours but continued his pitch despite clear signals from them that they had had enough.

That day they were due to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary. They were both drained and exhausted. They are both 85 years of age, frail and too polite to be rude to your consultant.

He even brought in furniture from the van without my parents requesting a demo.

The prices quoted were astronomical compared to similar equipment on line or in local independent furniture retailers.

I am sure (as the employee attested) that they have many happy customers etc and the equipment is 'top quality', however nobody deserves a pressurised sales pitch like this especially to vulnerable 85 year old.

We will never call upon them again and have alerted others to ensure that elderly, frail and vulnerable customers are accompanied by younger friends or family should they choose to use you.

No where does your catalogue state the sales pitch will last nearly three hours

I think Oak Tree should declare this in their catalogue along with a statement that elderly customers should be represented. i don't believe this bespoke stuff either so there should be a price list or price guide

I am sorry to say but I can t help thinking they are taking advantage of the elderly and that their salesmen are self employed commission hungry ex timeshare salesmen.. again sorry but that is how we feel.

I have made contact with Age Concern and trading standards to raise my concerns too.

Excellent service and supply. My chair is very comfortable and operates smoothly. Customer service good from start to finish.

My husband says the chair is very comfortable and he enjoys using it very much.

Terrible customer service, my parents are still waiting for their problem to be sorted after a year. If this is how you treat your core customer group then you deserve to go into liquidation.

Technicians ( and there were a few) even agreed the overhang on the mattress was incorrect. In my humble opinion this is a company to avoid at all costs.

Just received my chair. Delivery guys were very helpful. They took our old chair out for us and even took it into a neighbours house who we gave it to.

Totally delighted with The product and service we received from start to finish.

Having placed an order for a riser chair and an electric bed, the customer service from this company was exceptional. The quality of the furniture is superb and it is well worth comparing their products with those of a lesser quality from elsewhere..... there is a very old saying.... You get what you pay for!

I found the service and delivery to be excellent and the chair itself is very good the only thing that worried me was the payment system there seems a lack of trust in this as all monies are paid well before delivery although once here all was well. Perhaps this is age problem but it can leave an elderly person fearful in this age of scams.

I have been physically disabled for a number of years and also have Parkinson Disease. I have often been in severe pain, made worse because I was unable to sit comfortably. We decided that I would be wise to try to find a riser-recliner in an effort to relieve some pain, and assist with my limited body movement. I did what lots of people do these days, and Googled mobility chairs . Serendipity led my stylus to the Oak Tree Mobility page and my circumstances changed.

I contacted the Company and arranged for someone to come to our home to discuss the situation. A very pleasant young man spent a long time explaining the functions of the chair, discussing our choice of style and fabric and measuring me for a suitable sizing for the chair. From then on everything went so smoothly. The chair was delivered well within the stated time space. The men delivering the chair spent time with us, making sure that we understood the pros and cons of suitable siting of the chair etc. Staff at Head Office were always so warm and friendly, spending time to answer my queries, never once giving the impression that they were busy and had other things to do besides spend time putting my mind at rest.

So satisfied was I with the chair that we eventually decided to dispose with our existing furniture and buy two more chairs so that my husband could benefit from the comfort. Once more we were met with courtesy, friendliness and no pressure to make a purchase. Our chairs are a beautiful soft almost white leather and so comfortable. I cannot say that I am completely free from pain but my chair continues to be a great easer of pain and stress.

I would not hesitate to recommend Oak Tree Mobility to anyone, whatever aid they were seeking. Service at every point was beyond reproach and the quality of workmanship is excellent.

We have nothing but praise for Oak Tree Mobility. We had several quotes and salesmen from different companies but this firm delivered the best sales representative , ( Wayne), and quotation, good communication from the office, (Sara), great delivery men and on time too. They explained the controls on the chairs which are exactly what we wanted and are extremely comfortable and easy to work. They look good in the fabric we chose and they are excellently made. We have no hesitation in recommending the firm.

Having last year paid for a stairlift to be installed into my parents home i am shocked and appalled at the way this company treat its elderly customers. The lift started making a loud clicking sound within a month of installation so we requested an engineers visit to remedy the problem. When he came he said there was noghing wrong with it.

3 engineers later, 6 months of correspondence with the furniture ombudsman and trading standards and the threat of legal action, my parents have finally had the problem resol3ved. An independent engineer visited today, immediately recognised that it sounded wrong and identified and rectified the issue.



If we had not been determined to pursue this matter for more than six months which has been incredibly stressful for my parents both in their 80's, they would be stuck with the worst , noisiest stairlift in existence.

Do not use this company, service was appalling ans their actions were dishonest and immoral.

I would like to say that the whole experience has been a pleasure, the initial home visit, the delivery and most of all the comfortable experience of getting to know and using the really wonderful riser recliner chair. It is definitely the most expensive furniture I have ever or ever will purchase but if your aging body is anything like mine it's money really well spent!

My Nan is very happy with her new adjustable chair and the advice and service I received was excellent.

Disgusting company. Charged my grandad 12000 for a sofa and chair a couple of years ago. The salesman who visited talked my grandad who was very vunrable at the time to take out a loan secured against his house for the sofa.
After speaking to them just after my grandad died a month or so later they said they asked if he wanted someone present at the appointment but he declined. He was very clearly vunrable and Iam also surprised the bank agreed to the loan.
Do not use this company and I wouldn't let salesperson into your home. They prey on the vunrable to take as much money as they can.
The sofa was also one of the most horrible sofas I have seen.

Unfortunately you had your chance to resolve this at the time. Watchdog at the time were very close to investigating oaktree mobility as at the time we were not the only people who had spoken to them. Sadly I don't think they ever did.
It will be pointless me ringing as it will be impossible to resolve or change my opinions on the way your rep dealt with my grandad.
I just saw an article this morning about yourselves. A bad one obviously so I just thought I would share my experience on here.

The chair was VERY overpriced, Exceedingly uncomfortable, not to the order specification and Oak Tree Mobility were very difficult to deal with after they got the money. A huge fight to try and get a refund and no return or compensation for the chair they took away as a trade-in.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!! The "50% off sales" are bogus, their prices are way too high for standard products they buy from other manufacturers, they take too long to deliver and have your money while you wait 6, 8 or more weeks for delivery. Very poor delivery service - dump and run - no instruction, no testing, no interest in customer service. Absolutely appalling!!

Chair was bought for my 80+ year old mother who has problems walking and spends a lot of time seated. Even though it is costly, She loves the chair so much she will not let even me sit in it!! I guess it is worth the cost for mum to be happy :)

I needed a chair for Dad to help him.to standing. The young man that came out was so friendly and helpful. He made sure the chair was the right size and suited Dad. It's so comfortable and Dad is feeling so much better. It's piece of mind for me too!

My Husband is extremely happy with his new chair, being tall the whole measurement of the chair made for a perfect fit! The whole transaction was very smooth and delivery was made before the estimated date...all in all a very good purchase.

I received my recliner chair for almost two weeks ago and I am very happy with my chair. The company dealt with me and n a manner that I would expect. My father is in a bad way and the only thing I could do for him is to make him comfortable. I found the home demonstration service offered invaluable as I could not take dad around to retailers. They made the chair to fit my dad. Although he is very poorly. We got her a riser recliner arm chair from Oak Tree which has massively helped with her day to day mobility issues, making it much easier for her to get from sitting to standing. Everyone I spoke to at Oak Tree were extremely helpful and considerate. I couldn't recommend them enough.

I suffer with Xerosis so picking the right fabric was very important to me. I love my new chair and spend the majority of my time with my feet up enjoying a cuppa.
