They have so much more than I knew, for travel. I bought a new siutcsse for a trip at a good deal. I was able the find it a little cheaper onlne, and AAA let me return it with no problem. If planning a trip, I would start at AAA.

I received a letter that my membership was canceled due to guidelines, I have been a member since 1990, I am a female of age, with some chronic medical problems. I wouldn't ever thought AAA would do a loyal devoted customer this way . I don't know anything about a guideline, I trusted AAA to informed me, if I was out of compliance. I really believe I have been treated unfairly.., I was treated unfairly by AAA company without a warning, They would send a warning for my payment that was due , or a notice for my renewal.I have referred so many customers to AAA, especially females, thinking this company was trustworthy and fair, but they're not reliable, I have been having problems with their service for the last 5 years, but I still stayed a loyal customer to this company , being self employed, I know a loyal customer is very important for business and a strong marketing tool for my business..I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone because of their quality of service is very down, and their prices has went up tremendously. I did some research, and there are other great companies out there that do a lot more than AAA, and they value you as a customer...I talked to Lexis an employee with AAA, she wanted to argue instead of correcting the problem, she was over talking me, so she didn't care about anything I was saying... AAA stated I used my card too much over the last few years,but I recalled I went for several years, without using the card, why wasn't my membership cancelled for non use, although I was still paying my dues and payment that was due... I am talking from real truthful experience.. It is a bad company not trustworthy or dependable. I will not recommend this company to anyone.. This company isn't safe to use, their quality has dropped very low

Let me ask you this simple question: if you were looking to buy a service and someone told you that if you (or your loved one) were ever stranded on the side of the highway in the middle of the night, in a major city where there were no shortages of tow companies, that it would take them at least over an hour but more like two, but really no guarantee, would you buy it? Do yourself a favor, and don t purchase this service. Plus member since 2007 and when it came down to it, they failed, and then wouldn t reimburse the headache that occurred because of them all because of a situation out of our control... there are better options. Happy searching!

Received an offer in the mail because I was a member in the past. When I called up they told me that my rate was cheaper than they were waiting me online. So they want to charge me $79 for two vehicles. I'm better off to take a chance of paying a tow charge since most of my Towing would be more local. They want me to pay for services I don't want and they don't give me the option to pick what I want. It's kind of like cable you're paying for stuff you don't want and you're paying a high price. It's not helping senior citizens and no one seems to have a good car care plan that is dependable anymore. All I want is Towing and lockout. They don't offer any deduction for senior citizens so beware. Then they were going to give me a promo price with the offer in the mail. The cost was similar to what I was paying with aarp. So I asked her if it would be the same price after that first year, she said no it be regular price so that means you're paying over $100. So based on the reviews it's easy to say that you're paying for a not so great or possibly great depending on what you get that day. You're paying all this money for something that you're not going to use probably or may use it. Another one of those insurances that they just rip you off.

I have been a Member for 10 years before relocating to the Asheville Area. My membership expired this month and I will not be renewing it ever again. After dealing with there Provider Alert Towing a week ago. they don't know how to tell time and think 45 min. is when ever they show up after 2 hours. When you call their number they are very rude and tell you the driver is on his way and will be there soon. When the the driver showed up, he wanted to just drive the truck up on his bed. When i said I don't want it started he seemed to get pissed off. When I followed the driver to the shop, I was shocked by how he sipped in and out of traffic. after reading the reviews on thither I find it funny that they only have 1 star or 5 star reviews. The funny part is that when I searched their reviews almost all of their 5 stars were by the owner, employees, and spouses of employees. Facebook is a great way to find out who knows who. Great job AAA you have let your members down. And the way the respond to the customers is a joke. Blaming the customer, Fire Chief, and every one but yourself. Seem you like to damage a lot and not do anything about it too. Well by the look of your trucks I can see how. Very truck of yours I have seen is messed up one way or another from hitting things. My membership is not just one but I have paid for 4 family members, membership as well. As they say I just saved a lot by switching to Geico.

I recently purchased a car from this location. They were nice and it seemed like a good deal. I made sure to check everything but managed to forget to check a few things on the car. Then only days later I started to notice these issue with the car, I called Jimmy Galati, the man that sold me the car and he acted like he cared to help me out but just like everyone else at this company just passed me along to another associate. I got the run around for about a week then was told after talking to about 15 different people that I needed to contact Jimmy directly. Which, if I'm not mistaken, was the very first thing I did. So I called Jimmy again and it took him a day and a half to get back into contact with me then when he did he accused me of causing the existing damage. When I bought the car I told everyone I bought it from AAA. They all said the same thing, "AAA sells cars?" No one knows they sell cars for good reason. There is no way I would recommend this place to anyone. If you do decide to buy a car from this place then I SERIOUSLY recommend you triple check every single inch of that car because they have no problem taking advantage of you. Thanks again Jimmy and AAA you truly are car salesmen.

I left the car and came bk this morn and called again requesting a truck with an air gun. Long story short im still waiting as they have pushed the trucks ETA back 4 times AGAIN! I have triple A platinum but i wont be renewing this yr!

Dead to me. They cancelled me after close to 40 years of membership and refuse to even consider an alternative. Over the years they have made much more off of me than I have them. Most years, I never used them at all. Good riddance, AAA. There are too many other alternatives now.

A different person answered the call and told me they already have my information, again I'll get a email. I waited again, and I was afraid a woman alone. They NEVER CAME. !!!!!!!. I called the next day was lied to, I called 2 days later was lied to again. I called today 2/23/19, customer service talked to me like I was NOBODY and I was getting on their nerves. I called my bank which is who I have AAA through, they called me back. I am calling the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND HOPE I CAN GET A DIFFERENT COMPANY. DON'T GET THIS COMPANY. BAD EVERYTHING.

AAA is a not all it's cut out to be. I have been a member for over 10 years. Only use it may be once or twice a year. My vehicle broke down so I had it towed home. Days later I wanted it towed to a shop...less than 2 miles from my home. To my disbelief they would not do it unless I paid for it myself. Thinking about not renewing services.

Have been happy with AAA, Bought cars through their car buying service (will continue to do so, never buy directly from a dealer). However their battery service, is convenience, yet forsaking quality. You are stranded, they come jump, you get a new battery. First time ever getting a AAA battery 3 months ago, it just died. They came out, jumped it, tested and said it is not the battery and refused to replace it. This is a 5 year old Acura, a 'drain' would be very, very rare. Suggestion: if stranded, have AAA jump start, then get a quality battery elsewhere. For simply good customer service for a 40 year customer, they should have replaced it. Now we are stuck with a bad battery and will probably go get a better one. Called member services; no help or willingness to advance our complaint to a higher level. Folks in the field are great, just the ridiculous 'protocol' versus doing the right thing for a long-time AAA customer.

We have been members for several years now and have required roadside assistance twice. On both occasions (the latest being today), the wait for a tow was over 3 hours (not exaggerating). Something has definitely happened within this organization to cause such a downturn in reliability. Perhaps AAA can be used as a travel agency but we would certainly advise against trusting them to get a tow truck when you are sitting by the side of the road. Queue up the apology 'we are so sorry you had such a bad experience....'. Goodbye AAA.

Update 1 week later: AAA replied to my original post with what was likely an auto-generated reply to make it look like the care about their members. I sent everything to their Help email and have not heard a thing. What a washed up has-been of a company. Totally useless. Book your own travel and use your auto insurance company for road side assistance (at least they have something at stake if the towing company destroys your vehicle). Don't waste your time with AAA - they could not care less about you.

Unbelievable! Absolute worst service imaginable - completely hosed by AAA. Been a member for 30+ years and barely used the service for anything until I required a tow due to an ABS problem while returning from hurricane clean-up at the coast. Called roadside assistance and was told a tow truck would arrive within an hour. An hour passes, and I get a text saying it will be 30 min later. 30 min later same thing, and 30 min later same thing again. Tow company clearly had no intention of providing service within an hour - just took the call and put me at the back of the line. Annoying, but not that big of a deal. The real problem was when he finally got to me, the very large man tow truck driver jumped up on my running board like he was hopping into the cab of a semi and tore it completely off the side of the vehicle (see pic). We stuffed it in the back and proceeded to the garage. I contacted AAA about the damage and filed a report along with a description of what happened, photos, repair quote, etc. When I followed up a few days later, I was told by AAA that the tow company claimed that the running board was already broken and had been attached to the vehicle with zip ties! Can you believe that??? I sent more pictures (including this photo of the storm debris that just happened to include my vehicle in the foreground showing the running board in factory condition. It was taken just a couple hours before the tow company tore it off). I also have a statement from the repair shop attesting to the condition of the vehicle and running board upon arrival at the shop where it was clear to them that it had not been previously repaired and in fact there is no way it could have even been attached by zip ties due to the lack of anchor points. I even called the tow truck driver himself to call him out on this. He quickly walked back the claim of existing damage and admitted that the only thing he had to say was that he was surprised that Mercedes used plastic mounting hardware that broke when he jumped on it. Anyhow with all of this including the retraction of the false claim by the tow truck driver himself, all I get from AAA is that they find no evidence to support that the tow company was responsible for the damage (what???). I asked to AAA member services to speak to the manager of the field services person who made that determination, and they said no. They did tell me the manager's name is Jody Smith, but they won't give me his contact info and stated that he probably won't call me back. So this is the level of member support provided by AAA - very nice. Jody - if you see this, give me a call and please explain why you left me hanging out to dry on this. I would actually be glad to hear from anyone at AAA if there is in fact someone there who actually cares at all. What a disappointment AAA - leaving me to fend for myself against their lying, crooked towing contractor. Definitely feel like a valued long term member...

Even in the face of the Florence crisis the phone representative was calm and helpful. We had a team member in our driveway within 30 minutes to help start the car - dead battery, of course. He was warm and helpful and express concern about our safety. Love AAA!

I have been a long time member with AAA. I have used the AAA auto service on Merrimon Ave. in Asheville, NC for several vehicles. I had them change the transmission fluid in my 2015 Rav 4 in Sept. 2019. Around the first of Nov. my transmission was having problems shifting when cold. A trip to Anderson Toyota determined that my transmission fluid was very low on fluid. Topping off the fluid solved the problem. The transmission was not touched by anyone else. I will not go back to AAA auto service for any type of service again. I am waiting to see if my transmission has any permanent damage. Very disappointed.

I've been a member for 3 years, and I have only ever used AAA to get trip tics and maps for vacation. Last night while driving home from New York, I had a flat tire. I called AAA, and Randy in Elkin, NC came and changed the tire. He was so courteous and friendly. He quickly changed our tire, and we were on our way home! Thank you, Randy and AAA Carolinas, for helping us out in a scary situation!! I will definitely keep my membership!

AAA auto buying service runs like a well oiled machine. I traded in my vehicle for one of theirs and they loaded up my new vehicle and delivered it to me 4 hours away and picked up my trade in. Great sales reps, i highly recommend checking them out if you re in the market for a vehicle

Total Ripoff. Do NOT get their roadside assistance; if you have ANY "Modifications" to your vehicle (camper shell, light bar, etc) they'll show up and refuse to tow because your modified vehicle could be a danger to you, the driver and other vehicles on the roadway .

Offer sit in towing to whoever they feel like offering it to. Left me and my 2 small children sitting on the side of a dark, busy street at 10 pm. Waited between 2-4 hours for every service call. Just a terrible investment.

Drivers are terrible. Had a driver ask me where to drop a vehicle i told him where. He didn t follow directions and proceeded to argue with the mechanics about blocking bay doors and said he was uppety and trying to start beef and then continued to yell at me about how he s not the one when I was trying to tell him to drop it against the fence since he couldn t follow directions. Another one blocked the entrance along with another driver of a different tow service and both decided they felt the need to argue about who needs to back up for quite some time.

Buyer beware !!! If you have AAA membership and are on autopay, they will pull the payment at least 17-18 days early!! Then if you call to complain, they will only offer to take you off autopay; not fix the problem. If you want the money back your membership will be terminated immediately, regardless if you paid the dues to have membership thru the end of the month. Hey AAA it's 2014 get with the program. The way the autopay industry works you have your money immediately, so if our memberships are good thru the last day of the month; you should be drafting our accounts on the 1st of the next month-----NOT 17-18 DAYS EARLY !!! AND ON TOP OF THAT LIE TO THE CUSTOMER AND TELL THEM THAT THEIR PAYMENT WOULD BE DRAFTED MID-MONTH. MID MONTH IS NOT 17-18 DAYS EARLY!!!! MID MONTH IS THE 15TH OR 16TH DEPENDING ON WHAT MONTH IT IS. I faxed back the cancellation request form over a month ago ( Received confirmation of Fax received) I just got charged another months fee. I left AAA in the first place because i could not ever get in contact with my agent, Twice vehicle changes to the policy where never added, and when I finally ended the policy, I learned that the renters Insurance I requested, was quoted on and was never added to my policy. This created an issue with the management office of my apartment complex and delayed the resigning of a new lease. Honestly, I have never had these kind of experiences or have heard of anyone person having to deal with so much BS for a paid service..I am done with AAA.

If I go in by the renew link & type in my member # it magically finds my account info including email. I never travel outside my area. I just renewed 2 months ago but after reading these reviews I think I'm quitting.

It started off as a great working relationship with this company, then all of a sudden KA-BOOM. Cancelled policy without proper notice, held money hostage (said the check was in the mail--calling BS on that one); reinstated the policy they kicked me off and after numerous emails, because calls were never returned, they finally sent my money. Only to send me a bill about a collection on the account... REALLY!!!!!!!!! This was the WORST experience EVER with an insurance company and the only thing AAA is good for is roadside assistance and travel benefits. Stay FAR FAR away from the insurance option, because it is no benefit just a headache waiting to happen.

I was looking for negative ratings...and not able to post without selecting star... so consider -100 rating from me. it was really bad experience with aaa. I purchased insurance policy in June ending and cancelled it in September ending. And I have paid in full for six months when I purchased. But when I canceled it, they did not mention about extra charges and after cancelling when I asked for refund they said there will be some extra charges for early cancellation and they said you will get less refund. And I did not see any refund credited to my credit card. And they charged me extra money about $130 after 20days of cancellation of policy for which they did not notify me. I was shocked by this transaction and thought my card is stolen... immediately called bank and checked with them about the transaction. How unprofessional way of doing transaction on customer's credit card without letting them know.

Very discriminatory and very unfair. I had been a member since 1997 and this is the thanks you get.

AAA has always been one of the most polite, profes...

AAA has always been one of the most polite, professional, and responsive organizations I've known. They have, over the 20 years I've been a member, pulled me out of a ditch, jump-started my car, and helped change a tire. I bought my last two cars through their car-buying service and I will never go to a dealership again! Now I'm looking to book some travel through them. Am I a fan? Yes, you could say so, because they always exceed my expectations.

I have been AAA member for last 7 year. I know this shop from 2015 onwards. Usually when i used to come for occasional service, always have poor response. Today i came around 12:15 PM. I went to inside the store and asked them to check the Air. They said that they will come . I waited for 15 min under the scorching sun but noone has come. Service people are talking and roaming there.But noone is attended . Then , I left without checking AIR. I think that there is a customer service issue with this location for many years. I did not see any improvement.

I have been a AAA client for seven years coming over from AAASouth also have a life insurance policy. We got a random letter a month ago stating that they are revoking our Membership and a prorated check was enclosed. The tone of the letter was that of a termination notice. We couldn't believe it. We hadn't even called them all year long for any services. We called customer service and the Representative unapologetically stated that basically it was a cost benefit issue . We had used them probably about 6 times in the past 6 years and it wasn't in their best interest to keep us. I didn't even know That this was possible. I hope it was worth it to them because word-of mouth.. My mother retired from AAA and does independent luxury travel now. She said she has heard of this happening more and more.

They have a online Auto Buying service where you can purchase a car ON LINE if you qualify and you can have your paperwork brought to your home to sign and also the car if you don't feel like picking it up yourself. You never have to set foot in their building to buy a car.

AAA left my vehicle stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire for 4 days, then refused to reimburse me for my cost to have it towed!

My vehicle went off the road in a snow storm on 1/7/17 and received a flat tire in the process. I called AAA to get the vehicle towed at that time and was denied service due to the weather conditions. I needed to get home, so I called a friend to pick me up and drive me home. Over the next 3 days I called AAA 3 more times (on Sunday 1/8, Monday 1/9, and Tuesday 1/10) in attempt to get my vehicle towed. All 3 times they refused to provide service.

I needed my vehicle so I had no other option but to call a local tow company (thanks Lemon's Wrecking Service, for your great service and fast response! You're a lifesaver), who then towed the vehicle to a service center to have the flat tire repaired.

But the poor service doesn't stop there. Per AAA's membership guidelines "On the rare occasion that a AAA road service provider is not available (after calling our "800" number), or your membership cannot be confirmed, you will be reimbursed for those services normally provided free of charge with your membership." Based on this guideline, I filed a claim to AAA for reimbursement of the towing expense; however, they denied my request for reimbursement!

If you can't count on them to save you in an emergency? What good is being a member?

Coustomer service up front is great. Kayla specifically took care of me. She was great. Did what she could but the guys in the back one in particular appeared either really sleepy or stoned out of his head. Im all about waking and baking, but very unprofessional at your job. Probably why I sit here in the waiting room for the second day in a row. No one is perfect but fixing a flat tire should be an easy fix. They plugged it yesterday and I ended up having to purchase a new tire here today after going out to a flat last night after work. Can't help but wonder what would've happened if I went elsewhere. More than likely will not return here, especially after reading the other reviews
