After being their customer for over 14 years, they immediately cancelled my aaa membership and left me stuck without emergency roadside services. Luckily I found a better deal and much better coverage for less than the premium membership price I was paying through AAA however, I was still without coverage for a few days before I could locate a solid plan. Not to mention that the last two times I used my former AAA roadside assistance services, the unqualified technicians were not able to help me. If it weren t for the good samaritans nearby, those techs would ve made me get my car towed and left me hanging. I wouldn t have been as angry about all of this had you just had simply given me a few weeks notice that you were going to drop me as a member. You can thank a Good Samaritan for saving you a hefty tow fee. Blessings come in disguise as well as Karma. Luckily, my new membership with the Good Sam Club will cover much more and even my camper. Can t beat that at all! You clearly need to step up your game when it comes to provision of services.

BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATION!!! Nothing this company sells is their own products from travel to insurance. All they are is a middle man. When things go wrong you are on your own. Their travel products come from Priceline not them. Insurance comes from a few other companies. Do not trust these people all they care about is selling subpar products under what was once a trusted name.

Got a flat tire literally two minutes up the road from my home. I didn t have my ID on me but told them I could get it since I was so close. Refused to help me unless I was able to run up to my home grab and come back to where I left my car, but they wouldn t wait for me to do so, I would have to call back. Already waited 45 minutes for the guy to show up and was running late for work. I get policy but there s a thing called humanity too and these guys have none of it. I am furious with this service.

After 16 years as a member of AAA, I am terminating my membership. I moved from Florida last year and immediately updated my address with AAA. I
received my renewal notice and after an hour and a half trying to renew online with several calls to AAA support, I finally gave up. All of the support agents were useless, ambivalent and even belligerent because I had not paid dues to the Carolinas only to club south. Thanks for nothing and thankfully I was able to get a taste of AAA Carolinas support before I wasted my money. Goodbye and good riddance.

My truck broke down on vacation had 3 bicycles in the back of my f150 and they charge me commercial rate 525 to tow my truck 100 miles when I have the gold card.Said that its there policy if you have anything in the bed you are hauling something.Do you think that 60lb of weight is going to change the size of the tow truck that you need? Won't be the last time they here from me, they are going to lose a customer. Very mad about the policy they need to change it.

I called AAA and received a service txt that my call has been received at 8:53a. I was told drivers were soooo busy. At 10:36a a driver finally calls and I ask him why it s taken since 8:53a, respectfully. He left me know he s only had my svc call for 20 mins and that I needed to take that up with AAA. I ve had AAA for years and have never waited this long since being a member on my father s account. This is the first time I ve had them as a solo account holder. I will be researching other roadside assistance companies. I am absolutely disappointed and angered that I have been lied to. Who knows when he will get here.

AAA failed to get towing, under our premier membership, for the distance advertised for premier membership. What is the benefit of paying for a higher level membership if the benefits aren't available when needed???

LIVID. If I could give it negative stars, I would. My daughter's car broke down on 277 in Charlotte this evening. She managed to get it into a turn lane but was still clearly in serious danger. Called 911 and the police took an hour and a half to show up. AAA tow truck NEVER showed up. After sitting on the side of the road for over 2 1/2 hours and being bullied by the police who had called their own tow truck, she finally had to let them tow her car - or risk being arrested, according to them. She called AAA 5 times and was put on hold for at least 10 minutes every time. We called AAA and were put on hold 10 minutes only to get a dispatcher who clearly didn't care that my daughter was in a dangerous situation. We have been members for 29 years and this is the treatment we get when the service is needed the most. Absolutely LIVID.

I got a call from AA after a negative review. I am changing form 1 to 3 stars based on their response to my issue and a misunderstanding on my part as well. The initial communication on the part of AAA was poor in the form of both the receipt that was totally uniformative that my son got only listing the amount of the paypal charge but not the reason or any itemization, that thye could fix. Also the 1st service rep to call me did not understand the issue but the second was excellent. Thank you for responding and calling me.

Member Services is a Joke - Don't believe a word they tell you. We moved to FL & "supposedly" transferred our membership to FL in 2016. We received a renewal notice from AAA Carolinas in 2017. When we called, we were told they were sorry & it would be cancelled. We found out when we received a renewal this year that it wasn't cancelled. Now they refuse to refund the 2017 dues even though we paid for 2 Club memberships in 2017.

I'm a AAA member and have been paying for years for a membership only for roadside assistance. Few days ago, I was stranded in a parking lot with a car not starting (problem that I had asked AAA Pineville Center to fix in last service, they said there is no problem - another story). I called roadside assistance they didn't schedule towing for 5 hrs! Had to call another towing service and pay out of pocket. AAA overall has been a disappointment. The Pineville location Car care center, avoid it if possible.

I have a vehicle that needed towing 2 years ago. AAA said my plan would not cover the tow since it was a dual rear vehicle but if I upgraded to a Plus it would cover it the next time. guess what!!! nope same crap. I have been a member since 1983. It will be a cold day in hell before I give them anymore business. As a matter of fact, I will try to cause them to loose membership.

I love my AAA!!!! We have been members since 1995 & have had to call for a variety of reasons..flat tire, dead battery & locked keys. Never have we been disappointed!!!
We feel safe knowing when we are traveling together or separate... AAA has us covered!!!

I had to fix their mess. My next door neighbor was saying goodbye to her daughter, sending her back to college across the state. The car would not start so they called AAA. The mobile tech arrived and put a new battery in, the car started and he left. When the young lady was leaving to college she noticed the battery light was on in the display. Mom called AAA and the representative told her that may be a normal condition after a battery replacement. That is when the Mom called me. She was nervous about letting daughter leave with the battery light on. I found the alternator was not charging the battery, hence the dead battery and battery light on. I also noticed the tech did not clean the battery terminals at all. Additionally the replacement battery was the wrong size, it was too short so the metal hold down bracket was floating around on top of the battery creating a potential for a major short circuit that could easily result in a fire. When she called AAA about this they told her that the battery they removed was wrong and they put in the correct one. I knew this was wrong but I checked with the dealership and they verified that the car requires a 24 series battery, AAA installed a 35 series battery which is too short to be secured with the existing bracket. They came back and installed a spacer so the battery and bracket would be tight, but they maintained that theirs was the correct battery.
As an mechanic with 32 years experience it grieves me to se such incompetence in my field. This is the kind of shameful customer service that plagued our industry years ago. Fortunately most of us have evolved into reputable, caring professionals that put our customers safety first. AAA needs to do better. They are a big name in our industry and what they do, good or bad, reflects on all of us.

On Monday, October 24, 2016, at 1:20 PM I called AAA for a tow because my car would not start. They advised that a wrecker would pick up the car within an hour. No or wrecker at 2:40 so I called again and was advised that wrecker had been dispatched and new arrival time was 3:35. Then at 4:30 still no wrecker or call from AAA. Called again and told operator of my dissatisfaction. She said she would check with dispatcher to try to get some clarification. She came back and advised that she had called the wrecker driver and he said he would be there about 5:00. he did show at 5:00 - that was about 4 hours after my first call.. I was not in a remote area but an location where there were at least 6 wrecker services within 5 miles of my location. So there were several options if one was busy. There was no follow up to see if the requested service was provided or effort made to fix the the problem. They just place a call and forget their customer who is asking for assistance. Really poor service and I am going to advise BBB.

They also claim I'm married to Mary, best not tell the wife because she's called Sarah and we've been married (happily) for 20 yrs! Is the email phishing?

be careful when giving this company money! They have services that are supposed to help you when your in desperate need and it all sounds fantastic... Until you sign up and pay for the services. At that point you may be very surprised on how little of help this company can be. For instance if you are stuck on the side of a highway with a flat tire they will refuse to put your spare on unless your spare is the same exact size tire and rim that they are putting back on. Roughly about 90 percent of all vehicles do not come with a full size spare. So yes roughly 90 percent of you will be stuck on the side of a dangerous highway with nothing to do unless you pay them a ton more money to have it towed to your repair facility and hopefully its within 3 miles or your wallet maybe real thin at the end of the day. Also there are a ton of extra little fees with this company... For instance if you forget to renew your tags even a day after being expired for some odd reason that is and extra 50 dollar charge. Unfortunately i was not warned and did not do my research before giving this shady company my money. I found out all this within literally a few hours after signing up called and canceled my membership and requested a whole refund (didnt think i was being unreasonable considering that the company did not do one service for me and i hadnt even had it for a single day yet). Well thats where the icing on the cake is with this company. They refuse to refund you your money after you give it to them. I did get my membership fee back but the new member fee i was told is unrefundable for a reason that they wont and cant explain they just tell you its unrefundable and also they have a fee if you sign up and need service the same day (50 dollar fee) for the guy to go out to you to tell you that your tire and rim isnt the same exact size is unrefundable. If these sneaky fees are explained at the beginning before they take your money that would be understandable. But on the flip side i understand why they dont because if you really dig deep and find all the dirt and shady fees they charge you before servicing your vehicle no one first would have time to listen that long and second they wouldnt have anyone sign up. I see how they get away with it though if anyone like i was that is desperate for help on the side of a dangerous highway is usually willing to pay any fee just to get into a better and safer situation and off the side of the road. I am very disapointed. Just goes to show you just because a company has been around a long time and has a household name from spending millions of dollars in advertisement doesnt mean that they are always trustworthy and honest as the case with this company.

AAA of the Carolinas is the WORST!! My 70 year old...

AAA of the Carolinas is the WORST!! My 70 year old parents have been AAA members for over 25 years. In the time they may have used it somewhere around 15 times. However, my family has cancel our membership last week due to AAA not willing to honor their warranty program for there batteries.

After:
1. 10 calls for battery service
2. 3- days of the battery not holding a charge and after being charged over night 2x s.
3. The vehicle needs towed to get the new battery
4. the last thing, all the tests came back good expect the battery! ... CCA showed 8 should be at 750
Volts are at 10. Should be at A minimum of 12 v. (See pics)

AAA is not what it used to be, my grandmother had it back in the 70s and my parents have had it for years, my brother has it. We ve all been AAA members as a family and now all of us have canceled our memberships! I wanted to share this for when you have a point of failure with your vehicle, don t count on AAA to in the way you expect to be treated it most likely will not happen. I would hope that nobody else ever has this type of experience with AAA of the Carolinas. Good Luck!!!

I love AAA roadside assistance so we thought we would try out their insurance. It s ok. Was great when we first signed up. Gave us a great rate to start. It s slowly worked it s way back up to normal. I would probably switch back to State Farm if it wasn t so much trouble. Just disappointing that we switch our auto and home all to aaa and there just is never any loyalty from these companies. They always want to give the great rates to to people to get them signed up then they just jack your rates back up. Following in the footsteps of time warner/spectrum.

And when it comes to vacations, Hunter was a blessing! She helped plan our Disney vacation and even while I was down there and had an issue, I called her and she walked me through what s going on. I would highly recommend Hunter in a heartbeat!!!

I was stranded for 2 hours no help from AAA. The first time I called I was hung up on. 2nd time I called I was told I could do an unattanded tow. That didn't happen. Communication was extremely poor. Will never have my business again.

I recieved a letter in the mail stating they were canceling my services. So I gave AAA a call for clarity seemingly I had not misused the services. I was advised by Lexie that my services was canceled because I used all four of my tows and it wasn't beneficial to keep me as a customer. She therefore went on to advise me rudely that the average customer calls AAA once a year and they are not responsible for maintenance on vehicles. This was offensive considering I maintain all my vehicles. I have been a AAA member for 5-10 years and only opted in for their declining emergency roadside assistance program. It doesn't make sense to pay for it's subpar discount programs. I strongly advise future customers to stay away from purchasing the emergency roadside assistance plan because they don't intend for you to use the service! They will cancel your services if you do! It's not cost effective for them as a company to keep you!

I have been a AAA member since 1987 and have a Premium RV membership. I have been very happy with the services I have received until today. I have recommended AAA to many people and purchased gift memberships for others. That also changed today.

Today, November 6th I called the roadside assistance number for South Carolina. After describing the van based RV size, a tow truck was dispatched. When the driver arrived, he claimed his truck was too small and that I needed to call AAA to resolve the issue.

I called AAA back. After being on hold a person answered the phone, and put me on hold to look up my case. The line then went dead. I called back again with the exact same result. The 4th time I called, I asked to speak to a supervisor to explain the issue.

After the explanation, the supervisor refused to help me. Even though I paid extra for the Premium RV membership she refused to help me. The Supervisor (Tammy, ID 31146) was EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. No options were given. No clear explanation of why I was denied service which I had paid for.

This is not the way I have been treated in the past.

At this time I am at a loss. My husbands grandparents have been members with you since 1997, made their payments on time always and have only used your services twice before. Both of them are in their 80's. We as family members make sure that they have services like this in order to make sure they will be alright as most family lives in New York and we are the closest in Charlotte N.C. , They live in Calabash. To make a very very long story as short as possible, My husbands grandfather locked his keys in the car. A driver was dispatched in order to assist and after a short amount of time said he couldn't help and had other calls waiting on him and that they would need to call a locksmith. They said we waited on you and he said that their was nothing he could do to help them. several ways he could have helped come to mind. He could have helped them to get a cab home or to wherever they needed to go for one. they do not have cell phones and told the man this asked if he could call the locksmith or AAA to send out someone and he said no he had to leave. it is in the 90's outside and he left them stranded!! he refused to call AAA back for further assistance and refused to help them in any further action. When they walked back to the store to call for assistance again AAA stated they would need to send a locksmith out AT OUR GRANDPARENTS EXPENSE!!! What are they paying you for!!! Our grandparents agreed to pay and went back to their car and waited. mind you both of them have heart troubles and asthma just to mention a few. they waited, and waited, and waited and waited. Finally, after 4 hours in 90 degree weather, Joe, 85, got in the back seat and was able to tear out the back seat in order to get into the trunk. when they arrived home there was a message from AAA stating they would not be able to send a locksmith with out verification of payment form the primary, Joe, as his wife was secondary on the policy. From the get go their situation was explained. Joe is suffering from dementia. And Kay does the best she can to handle everything for him. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!! You cannot tell me that the caller could not tell the difference between a home answering machine and a cell phone. Besides she was told that they did not have a cell phone. I am outraged. I think AAA should talk it upon themselves to make this right. I will be handling this mater for Joe and Kay with their assistance.

Waited 3 and a half hours in the cold for a tow. The first driver cancelled and no new driver was sent out. They also had the wrong address. I was not notified of a single thing. Tried to call the driver back, went straight to voicemail 6 times. Called AAA driver will be here in 10 minutes hours later...nothing. Step it up or I ll cancel. Unacceptable.

We have been members since 2004. My daughter was stranded today and went to use them and was told our membership was cancelled. When I called I was told that they did an audit over the last two years and my family used them more than what our yearly membership cost so they dropped us. They just cancelled our membership! They didn't even notify us. They didn't take into account the 14 years prior that we hardly ever used their services If we used their services at all! What a horrible business!

I am sitting in my truck at the Chrysler Dealership in NC at11:22 PM on Sunday night. My membersip doesnt cover my truck with the RV PLUS coverage because I have a 4wheeler in back of my truck. $500 to toe home and under 100mls. Been hunting for a week with all gear, and AAA calls this a commercial toe so not covered because there is something in the back of my truck!!! This 2nd time they have scammed us with the RV Plus. They are rippoff company and i am going to make them hear this. Sitting in my truck at dearlersip in middle of night, heart patient first trip out, in new truck got some bad diesel fuel. To much stuff to transport to hotel, a 4 wheeler omg!! AAA you ripped us off in 2012 after burying 2 brothers hauling my 39' 5th wheel in N MS and broke down and biggest bunch off crap you ever want hear cost us over $1000 to tow both truck and trailer to a close proximity to our home. Total liars!!! Never will i rest after this night I am sitting in a parking lot at the dearlership!!
