Our dog got bit by another dog and needed stitches...

Our dog got bit by another dog and needed stitches, and I took her to this "Emergency Service" Waited in the lobby 5 hours before seeing the vet. He said the obvious, "She needs stitches". They had me sign an agreement to pay lots of money (After 5 hours, I was ready to sign anything). Picked up the dog the next morning. Ten days later we returned, the stitches were removed, and the technician said she was good to go and run. Unfortunately, not so much, after an hour of running about the yard, the wound opened again.
I made a call to the office and texted a picture of the wound, to which the technician again stated the obvious, she would need to be stitched again. I would need to pay again. Fearing more hours in the lobby and another excessive bill, I opted to find another vet and plan to never return to Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency.

Employees don’t own up to mistakes!

Bumped my appointment and then LIED about reaching out to me!! Had a 9am appointment. Arrived at 8:40 to fill out paperwork. Let the receptionist know I would be waiting in my car. Receptionist asked what kind of car and what color. Provided that info. I was told she would come out or call. I was LITERALLY waiting in the parking lot for someone to call.
An hour of waiting I check on the status. I was told I wasn’t in the parking lot. There is a video from the business across the parking lot that shows my car did not move. I did not leave. The receptionist tried to lie and say she walked the entire parking lot looking for me. Again, not true. No call received. No text received yet they had this information.
Now I’m still waiting to be seen at another clinic who cares.

Not to be trusted to tell the truth and own up to mistakes!

our pet was having some serious issues ( disoriented, heavy breathing, runny nose, loose stool and etc,) and yet, the lady was not taking the matter serious. She was extremely rude with my wife; and only to her for some reason. Attitude and everything, except with me. Almost like they didn't want to treat or diagnose our pet.. Extremely awkward. I would avoid that place again.

I've been to this facility multiple times with my pets. I will admit, sometimes the people here are friendly and sometimes the bedside manner is somewhat lacking. That being said, this is an emergency facility. You can expect that emotions are going to be running high, animals that come here are in dire need of medical care, and the vets who work here are under duress and work all hours of the night for our convenience. To complain about the cost, to me, is very disrespectful. I am not made of money, I have internally gasped at some of the prices I have had to pay, but to complain about it would be absolutely ungrateful to a facility dedicated to taking pets after hours. After all, what would I have done without them? I would have certainly lost some of my beloved pets who are also a part of my family. I for one am just downright thankful they are here at all and the amount of stress that has been removed from my life because of the convenience of this walk in facility is immeasurable. I laugh at some of the complaints about pricing because most of the complaints are on bills half the cost of the bills I have received, and frankly I'm sure that I don't make much more than the people who are complaining. I may have to eat beans for dinner, but am I going to complain about vets who work tirelessly to save the life of my beloved pets? No, that would be absolutely inappropriate on every level. I am just completely grateful.

This place is the most cold hearted, unfriendly place I have ever been to. They were so put out that we came in for pet care. We seen the vet for an actual 10 seconds. The vet assistant, Jordan was snobby, unfriendly, and had a real lack of care for our pet. I will never go there again. They take advantage of people and their pets needs.

One of the best experiences I ve had with a veterinarian clinic. Our puppy this fall was very close to leaving us. The veterinarian s were very knowledgeable and quick to respond to an emergency situation. All staff were kind , gentle and seem to take pride in there working with compromised animals.I compare this clinic to WSU. Thank God u were there!

The people that work here don't care about your pet, this place is just a buissness for your money, not a place for a pet to get help, the people are rude and take their sweet time to do anything

We just moved to the area and need help when our poor Jasper cut his ear. They jumped right in and helped out. I felt very cared for and felt like it was a reasonable cost considering it was emergency care. Thank you! Very quick as well.

I can t say enough about the staff and Dr Wang. They were so wonderful and caring when we had to put our dog to sleep. We called ahead and they had a room ready for us. When we wavered if the time was right Dr Wang was so patient and kind and helped us see we were making the right choice.

On a Sat we had to take our little Shih Tzu in for a poked eye..first thing they did was want all of the bill up front..$1600.00 on a Sat before they would even give him something for the pain!!!!...Put some on a credit card and some from savings...After all was done they wouldn't take out the stitches or even do a check up..told us to see our regular vet..more money and my vet said the surgery wasn't done right because the area where her eye was is her leaking....Never will go there again..money hungry people, more worried about being paid than how the poor dog was feeling.

I have never been here before, but I am so grateful that they were open at 7pm on a Sunday night when my pet had a life and death emergency. I will spare you the yucky details, but he basically needed surgery on his bottom. I would have had to wait until Monday to have him treated. The emergency clinic got us right in, and he was in surgery in less that 1 1/2 hour. We were discharged 1 1/2 hours later. They were competent and capable, and I would recommend them without hesitation if you have a pet emergency. Thank you guys for everything you did to save Monte! He is doing great now!

We will return again for any and all future emergency visits for our little fur family members. thank you all again from the Kanehl family.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We were treated like absolute garbage.
Long story short, our puppy fell down the stairs last night and immediately started having seizures. Between seizures he was very hyperactive, losing control of his muscles and balance, circling, etc. (all tell tale signs of a TBI according to multiple veterinary case studies and manuals. Upon calling our vet to find out if our pup could get in, we were told it would be better to take him to ER based solely on the severe signs of brain trauma that he was exhibiting.
When we arrived at the pet hospital we were immediately asked to sign a CPR release form since the condition of our guy showed that he needed immediate attention.
We were immediately accused of lying. With accusations that our dog did not fall down the stairs, and instead got into the drug stash that we MUST have in our home (why would I lie about what happened when I am just trying to get my dog treatment???).
By the end of this entire ordeal we were accused by not one, not two, but FOUR people of giving our dog drugs. If anyone knows one thing about me, it s that I don t do medicine. The only drugs we have in this house are infants Tylenol for my kids and Claritin for my husband. Our dog was not even evaluated for the TBI that we brought him in for. No X-rays or CT scans were done for conclusive evidence. So, a sleepless night without our pup, and a $500 vet bill later; we ve just arrived home and he is in no better shape than when we dropped him off. In fact, contrary to what the vet tech said when we picked him up, he is NOT doing better. Seizures have continued. Muscle spasms have continued and he has just lost all bladder control, causing him to urinate all over himself.
Shame on you, Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency, for not treating my dog for the symptoms that he exhibited and instead accusing a college educated Master s degree student/ mother who works for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT of giving her 10 month old puppy DRUGS.

Regret taking our puppy here. Took our puppy here in August for Parvo we waited HOURS outside with other people, they took so long people around us actually pulled out chairs from their cars to sit outside!! and when they came out they ONLY wanted a payment then we waited ANOTHER hour outside for them to come out with a test for Parvo even though i told them he had it. We waited another hour for results (came out positive) and they took him in for evaluation. The doctor came out told us he did not believe the case was that bad he would be fine even though he looked really drained and rough, i mean how bad does it need to be for you to give him treatment to stop feeling pain? so he did not give him any treatment for the Parvo the ENTIRE time he was in there. They gave us meds we gave it to him accordingly to how they told us and put our trust in the doctor when he said he would be fine it s not that bad , well 2 days later our puppy died. He died in his bed surrounded by all his family, crying which slowly got quieter until he took his last breath. But i guess it s not that bad i regret taking my puppy there i believe if i had taken him somewhere else he would still be here with us. I blame myself. To this day we are still reminiscing the time we had with him. Now i m stuck paying a giant bill for a wonderful puppy we no longer have. !!!!!DON T COME HERE!!!!!!

The staff was very helpful and friendly and concerned. The vet was very thorough and I felt did a good job helping my kitten get over being ill. The vet called the next day to check on my kitten and to give me advice. I do believe that this is a good Clinic to bring your animals in an emergent need.

The vets and staff are amazing, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They make sure my animals have the best care possible and are my first choice when my regular vet isn t available. They also accept Care Card and Scratch Pay for when what my dog needed ended up being bigger than my budget because of how dire the situation was. A huge thank you to the staff for all the time and effort they put in caring for the animals in all types of situations.

Yesterday night we had what you would call Feline ...

Yesterday night we had what you would call Feline Aortic Thromboembolism (FATE) happen to our beloved family member, Chopper. One of the sweetest Maine Coons you could ever have. Unfortunately many in the breed have a genetic disorder that causes this. When we first called and went in, I started reading all the reviews on this vet and it did make me a bit scared while I was sitting in the lobby. You'll see a 1star review then a 5 and then a 1 on repeat.. While most of these reviews of 1stars talk about spending lots of money and putting animals down and ours did ultimately have to be put down this wasn't due to any fault of this vet or any of their staff. I'd like to make this very clear that this is an emergency vet center and if you are taking your pet to an emergency pet center it's probably because there is something really wrong with your pet. From the time we got there to the time we left every single staff member was upfront, honest and nice to us. I did not experience any of the negativity that pervious reviews have expressed. While I did not want to put my pet down, there really wasn't a choice unless I just wanted to be selfish. As far as the costs go they did give me a preliminary number that was 1500.00 but they didn't end up needing to do over half of the stuff because the situation was pretty clear what the issue was and they ended up refunding me roughly half of that. Do I think 700 is too much? I don't because they took me in at 8pm on a holiday weekend, kept me informed since he did have to stay over night, gave me documentation and let me see my pet whenever I wanted. They did try their best to remedy the situation, but some situations just can't be fixed. Emergency services are not cheap and anyone who has ever taken their pet to a regular vet knows those are easily in the few hundred for a standard checkup/shots/xray or whatever. The only thing I would change is maybe their initial paperwork which asks for your SSN, DOB, Place of Work and a few others that really don't matter for a pet visit or for billing you since they take payment upfront. I didn't fill those in and they said that was ok but I would probably just remove that all together. I don't really feel safe giving that information on a piece of paper that anyone could just grab and see. Aside from that they did all they could for my pet and while no one wants to see a loved pet be put down sometimes that is the only option and it's not always easy to come to terms with.

I have used Mid-Columbia in the past and they were great! I rushed my min pin in at 3:30 AM about 4 months ago and they asked me my budget, took great care of her, were under my budget, and explained how to administer meds and comfort her effectively. My husband called them last night about my min pin and asked if due to her symptoms we should bring her in and he said the lady who answered the phone was very short and said if we were worried to bring her in. I called back and my experience was awful. I have never had a clinic have such disregard for an owner's concerns and she repeatedly told me to bring her in if I was 'concerned'. I called to ask for a professional's opinion, not to be spoken to like I was over-reacting and crazy. Needless to say, I decided to drive much further to take her to a vet clinic that does take owner's feelings and emotions to heart. I'm not sure if I will use them again but I will tell you that if I do decide to try them again, because they are right next door, I will call to make sure their front office staff is helpful and courteous to their customers first. -Madison

We have used Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service a few times over the years, twice for our little old kitty, and three times for our young dog. We have never had a bad experience, and my husband and I joke that we should bring our dog here for non-emergencies too! The staff are kind and caring, very knowledgable, and have great bed-manners with the furries. The prices are very reasonable, in our experience, and we have never had to wait or worry long. Dr. Vang and Dr. Gosink are absolutely amazing veterinarians, and we can't think them enough for everything they have done for our little fur-balls.

Our dog was needing immediate attention and our vet was double booked and not returning our calls. We ended up trying Mid Columbia Pet Emergency as a last resort and so glad we did! They took us in right away, the staff was very empathetic and understanding, and our dog was able to get surgery done that same night. I was shocked they could do that as all the other vets in town were booked out months in advance. Thank you to Dr. Gosink for taking car of our Bailey girl and being so open and honest with my husband and I. We wish this was our regular vet!

Saying again you guys turned us away once you found out we could not pay at that very moment. We did not refuse help. We explained to you that we could get the money in the morning when the bank opened and refused once again. And if we stayed you would charge us even further. You did bring down the price from 2400 to 1600 but once again did not attempt to help because no money first. I understand nothing's free but to not do anything with out money first is a horrible. We had to leave to not get charged further and tried to get to our vet which never treat us like this but it was too late

We took our very sick lab there this morning. We were given the worst news that he had tumors and while we were given options for treatment, we knew the most humane option was to have him put to sleep. Absolutely gut wrenching. The staff and Vet were amazing. Let us stay with our boy as long as we needed and treated him with so much care and love. Would absolutely recommend them to any animal parent

Thanks to the careful and intelligent work of the ...

Thanks to the careful and intelligent work of the vet and staff at the Emergency Clinic, our pet was diagnosed and referred on to get the appropriate treatment she needed.
We took our poisoned Golden Retriever to a vet in Spokane on Sat; that vet did a full CBC and was surprised and puzzled by a very dangerously low platelet count. He suggested we see another clinic immediately for confirmation and treatment, so we headed to the Mid Columbia Pet Emergency clinic since they were open on a Saturday afternoon and they were closer to our home. We were met by the staff and Dr. Janiak , who had been expecting us. Our dog was immediately seen, and new blood work done. That was repeated an hour later because the platelet count was dropping. The vet and the staff were professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and considerate. The clinic was very busy, but staff kept checking with us and giving us updates on what was happening. After another test indicated that our pet was indeed in serious trouble, Dr. Janiak sat with us and explained our options. She carefully outlined what was known and unknown about our pet s situation, and she had consulted with other vets and double-checked with Pet Poison Center vets to rule out poison-related symptoms. How very thorough and wonderfully helpful!! We never felt pushed into a decision, but with the information we were given we made the decision to drive straight to the WSU vet hospital. Dr. Janiak called ahead, sent information to them as well as to our regular vet at home, and made the next step as easy as possible for us. The diagnostic cost was on par with the costs we incurred at the Spokane vet clinic. Our dog, Maya, is still at the WSU hospital with several vets and students studying her symptoms and working on treatments.

We brought our sweet girl (dog) in because we thought she had broken her leg. They told us that it would be $110 to be seen and $220 for x-rays. During the quarantine we were unable to go in with her. It was heartbreaking. The staff was so nice. It turns out she must of dislocated her shoulder because when they went to get her she was walking fine. The vet looked her over and said she was ok. We picked her up expecting to pay $110 and they said there was no charge. They were so amazing and at a time when it is hard to find hope, they were a blessing.

I had an extraordinary experience in which I brought my ill dog in from some distance away and was treated with immense empathy and patience by everyone, starting at the check-in. The vet tech was gentle with my dog and even took a few last photos when it was apparent that my border terrier, Lizzie, needed to be put asleep. The vet was fantastic explaining the tests and giving me choices. I was allowed a little time with my dog before she was gently put to sleep. I am most grateful for the loving care.

We had the unfortunate need to use the pet emergency room when our elderly cat started developing breathing problems overnight. We didn't want to make her wait until the next day to see her regular vet so we took her in.
The staff was very attentive and caring and, while the end result was that we had our furbaby put to sleep to ease her suffering, they let us hold her and love on her while they were doing it. They let us spend as much time as we needed with her and never made us feel like they were rushing us. The doctor sat with us the whole time and made sure to tell us what was happening at each step and answered all of our questions patiently.
While I hope we never have the need to use their services again, we are comforted in knowing they are there if we do need them and the staff seems to truly care.

I had to take my pup in for a dog bite treatment at 1am. The staff was nice and attentive to my boy. The service was fast and painless, at least for me. Took my dog there and spoke in detail to vet about issue as it had happened a few times before. I explained what they gave for antibiotics to keep infection from going to bone. I said it was always treated aggressively for 3-4 weeks with two different antibiotics. What did I get? One for 10 days and a huge bill! I called back thinking it was a mistake and got the tech saying the prescription given was typical . We are in process of moving here and the vet knew we didn t have a vet established here. Now I don t have enough meds to figure this out as each vet I call isn t accepting new clients. I guess if you want typical treatment go to this place. I for one won t return. You aren t listened to at all. I was in shock how the person on phone reacted when I called... clearly distraught about not being able to find a vet and knowing I didn t have enough meds.

We brought our domestic shorthair white feline Bonnie (9yr, 14 lb) to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency Service. It was a Sunday and she picked that day to have a hell-raising issue with her mouth...gouging her paws in her mouth, screaming bloody murder and bleeding...she finally settled down and we noticed a loose canine tooth on top...taking no chances...we took her there and noticed the tooth fell out in the carrier while waiting...all in all...her heart was strong, no temperature and she settled down...Dr Swick examined her mouth...inflamed...and tooth came totally out...nothing left dangling...recommended to see regular vet for the inflammation and follow up...

So, all was good...took her home and she's been fine all day...eating, drinking, resting, playing and sleeping...all good stuff!

We appreciated the quick service, reasonable exam fee and courteous demeanor of the receptionist, vet assistant and doctor...very professional and alert to any and all issues that was presented...

Another thing we seriously appreciated...their service didn't try to add any
add'l charges/padding the bill...etc...we've had problems with that in the past over the years...

Overall, a great service at a reasonable price on a day when ALL vets (like our regular one) are closed on Sunday...QUICK, PROFESSIONAL & COURTEOUS!...

Thanks so much...

So thankful that their service exists. Staff is professional and kind, and I have faith in their care decisions. Dr. Erickson killed my dog, I cant believe she is still working as a vet. I left the clinic and my dog was sleeping, I went to go pick up my son from work and was back within a half an hour. When I got back I heard a horrible howling unlike anything I had ever heard before and I asked the girl at the desk" that isn't my dog is it" and she replied I think so. I went back to the cage they had him in and he was alone with a bag of empty blood hanging out of his leg. They didn't even do the transfusion correctly and then just left him laying there. I believe they did the blood platelets to fast and it exploded his heart. He died a couple of minutes after I arrived with his head in my lap and his mouth wide open in a horrible grimace. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a pet. I stumbled to the front desk and wanted an explanation, all they would say is this is your balance and what do you want to do with the body. The vet didn't say a word to me or my son she just avoided us and went into her office. I paid over $3,000 for two nights and that is all they care about. I would like to sue her for Mal-practice. Do not ever take your pet there while she is still employed.

My nieces Dachshund mix had to have emergency blad...

My nieces Dachshund mix had to have emergency bladder stone surgery which was about $2,500 I (her aunt) paid for because I loved my niece and her pup Gordo very much. We almost lost him during the surgery because he had an allergic reaction to the pain killers and I am very thankful for them saving him. But his stitches were horrible and his skin was scrunched up and you could tell it really bothered him. He got an infection and it took us a month and half to fully recover him. After that he acted very sad all the time and we never received a call from the vet letting us know what was the cause of the bladder stones. He was fed absolutely no table scraps, just his dog food. Six months later he got them again, sadly this time I could not afford the surgery but we still took him to Horse Heaven Hills Pet Ugrent Care to see what we could do and see if somehow we could afford the surgery. We tried to contact Mid Columbia Pet emergency the day before to get any info we could but they couldn t even find his files and said they didn t have the results. So I paid for them to give us results to save or even prolong his life maybe a little more but instead they had no answers and couldn t even find us in the system. How professional. So we had to make the tough decision that day to put our little Gordo down. Horse Heaven Hills Pet Urgent Care even paid for the pain killers and exam for us. All we paid for was his euthanasia and ashes to be returned to us. What a unnecessary heartbreak though. Don t give this money hungry place your money if they can t even give you what you paid for or do their job of stitching a damn dog up correctly. Gordo wasn t just a dog to us, he was family and my niece emotional support dog. This has been such a heart break on all of us and the other two dogs they have sad now because they miss their best friend. We only had him for 5 years and it felt like nothing to us because of the way he went. Even the vet that put him down wanted to cry. I suggest you take your business to Horse Heaven Hills Pet urgent Care in Kennewick instead. Safe yourself some money and the grief.

We had a wonderful experience in the face of a difficult illness our dog was experiencing. They immediately recognized the problem and reassured us everything was fine. We appreciate how they did NOT take advantage of how naive we were, in suggesting costly and unnecessary treatments. Instead they suggested a low cost option that was right for our dog and easy on our budget. We would recommend this group any time!

The staff here are amazing! They care more about your pet than making money off you! They also explain the process, keep you updated on your fur baby, answering all your questions and give you a better understanding if your confused or do not understand something they discuss with you about. They are honest with you and always listen to your concerns of your pet without cutting you off or force you into making quick decisions. They give you time to think what you want to do and give you time to talk to your family- they dont rush you. This is the best place to take them when an emergency happens to your pet. Thank you for taking in my fatboy into your hands for the best care!

These guys were freakin awesome. My dog has a seizure disorder and we are from out of town. I ran in needing help and 2 of their wonderful staff ran out to help get my dog in. They knew what to do immediately and jumped right on it. Me being in the human medical biz, I start dumping info about her condition, medications, eating etc quickly and they got it all. Dr. Yang jumped in and was absolutely terrific. We caught my little girl's seizures while they were little before they became a brain damaging gran mals and it is all because of the knowledge and expedient care that these folks provided. Awesome job guys!!

We called on a Sunday morning because our kitty wasn't doing so well and thought he might of been poisoned. We drove an hour to get to the pet hospital and they got us in right away. Took some diagnostics and were going to run some tests to see what was going on. Unfortunately before they could finish the test my daughters kitty passed away. They were able to get an xray of the cats chest which showed lots of fluid. Even though the kitty had passed the Dr still took some of the fluid and examined it under a microscope in hopes for some answers for my daughter. When we arrived back at the clinic the dr took the time to show my daughter a normal cat xray of the chest and then compared it to her cat. She also showed her the cells of the chest fluid under the microscope and they compared them to a cell chart. It was clear that her cat had cancer. This gave my daughter closure knowing that there was nothing that we could of done. They then placed the cat in a very nice bag to be taken home to be buried. They also gave her a very nice plaster foot print with her cats name one it. Then today to top off this exceptional service we got a sympathy card in the mail that stated that they had made a donation in my daughters cats name to The Doctor Kerstin Brosemer Compassion Fund.
This was the best vet experience I have ever had. I wish our local vets were so kind. I would defiantly recommend them.

Took my cat with congenital heart failure in when ...

Took my cat with congenital heart failure in when she her breathing was off and the regular vets soonest appointment was in 16 hours. I knew she couldn t wait so we called emergency and let them know her brief history, symptoms, and that we were on the way. The staff was amazing at getting us in immediately, and was very straightforward about what the initial charges would be. Given our situation, the doctor and staff were very informative about what our options were, as well as the costs. When I asked, I even got their own personal opinions to help me make such a difficult decision. I truly appreciated their honesty, even if it wasn t the answer I wanted it hear, it was what I needed to hear. We came to the conclusion that it was time to put her down, and their euthanasia procedure was incredibly compassionate and heartfelt. We got to sit outside the grass on a beautiful evening and hold our kitty as they gave her the injections and she slipped away. Afterward we got a clay heart with her paw prints. It was really an emotional experience and they handled it with professionalism and care that I ve never experienced with a vet before. The peace and closure it brought to us cannot be expressed. I am so grateful to the doctors and staff there that guided us, listening to us, and being there with us, and recommend them to anyone experiencing an emergency when their vet isn t available.

Our dog was bit by a Rattlesnake on Sunday 5/3 about 5:30 PM. We didn't see it happen, we just noticed she was favoring her front right leg. I checked her out and noticed a couple of marks on her leg, but didn't make the connection at first. After about an hour we noticed her leg was swelling considerable and she was in obvious pain.
We rushed her to Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency and arrived about 7:30 PM. They confirmed it was a snake bite and they took her in for the night. The Staff were great, they told us it's pretty common and she'd most likely be OK. They could tell we were worried sick.
They called first thing in the morning and gave us an update. They wanted to keep her for the day just to be sure. About 2:00 PM on Monday they called and said she was doing well and we could take her home.
They gave us all the information and sent us home with some antibiotics and anti inflammatories and some pain meds.
She improved rapidly and was obviously feeling well, we only had to give her one of the pain meds.
By Thursday she was back to chasing squirrels!!

After being sent from clinic to clinic all day wit...

After being sent from clinic to clinic all day with my sick puppy, we were ultimately sent to this pet emergency. Dr. Gosink and her assistants were phenomenal. Dr. Gosink is down to earth, direct, and it was obvious she was doing what she thought was best for my puppy. We were finally getting some answers on what was going on.

Bonus- they offered to spay my dog while doing surgery in her abdomen anyways which was a very welcomed offer! We were thrilled that they called and offered this right before my dog's surgery as we had planned to spay her within a few weeks. With how efficient Dr. Gosink and the staff were, it didn't add to the "best case scenario" estimated surgery time which is great for my puppy and financially.

They updated us quickly, they were very very friendly, and Dr. Gosink was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!

My puppy went in sick last night and now she is on her way home, back to her normal spunky self. Thank you!

Edited to add:

My pup had a fluke complication the next day after surgery, something neither of the vets had seen happen before and not due to incompetence. Dr. Gosink and some staff came in after hours to operate on my little puppy and fixed the issue. Consistent communication and ultimately, I wasn't charged for anything! So thankful and can't recommend this place even more than I already have.

Grateful they're open and the vet and techs were nice and explained things well, but couldn't actually tell me if her problem was due to trauma or she might have cancer... And the anti-inflammatory drops they prescribed cost 73 dollars, which after googling I could have gotten it from Walmart pharmacy for 25! Holy convenience fee batman.

Very quick to check me in and see my girl Suillus. The staff was friendly and caring and the vet was awesome and spent ample time looking at Suillus and figuring out what was wrong with her. Reasonably priced and they give you an estimate up front. Would 100% recommend this business for any emergency veterinary needs.

My pet had a seizure at 9pm the day before Thanksgiving. We brought her to Pet Emergency right away and were taken back to an exam room immediately. The staff were compassionate and caring. Dr. Jay explained everything to us in terms we understood clearly. The outcome was devastating but I feel we made the best decision for our pet based on the prognosis and the information Dr. Jay gave us.

I cannot thank this staff enough! My Dads lil Pomeranian was old and suffering at home on a Sunday night. We knew it was the end but it was so hard. She ultimately passed away before I could get her to the clinic. They were amazing to me! A couple of vet tech s and Dr. Gosnik (probably spelled wrong) came out to my car and checked on her and then carefully wrapped her and took her inside for me. They didn t make me take her in. They put me in a room right away and brought me water, tissues and comforting snacks. They offered to allow me to say goodbye and were just so incredibly nurturing! I would recommend them to anyone who needs someone in an emergency event!

I have taken my Mini Schnauzer to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency Service about 5 times since 2014. It's never fun to need emergency services, but I will never hesitate to take her here. They are always up front about the cost and provide realistic expectations. On my most recent visit, they kept her overnight to monitor her after she had a seizure. When I picked her up the next morning, I was prepared to pay the full amount quoted, but the final charge was nearly $200 less than expected. I wouldn't have known the difference or questioned it if I was charged the full quoted amount. I feel good knowing they are honest about only charging for the services they perform.

Everyone at the clinic was very nice, our only complaint is with the subcutaneous fluid bolus our dog received. Our dog has had his fair share of subq fluid boluses and we ve never had such a messy leaky one before. In fact I ve never had one leak. The tech kept telling us that it was because he s so young, they usually are more leaky. I was exhausted so I just let it go. But it is frustrating that we had to dress the area with some compression and absorbent pads when we got home to stop the blood tinged fluid mess. I don t mean to be dramatic, but I honestly feel he lost somewhere around 1/3 of his fluids. I would have given 5 stars if the whole bolus situation had been different. I think they may need to reconsider the technique they are using, for additional reference his bolus needle appeared to be at the complete center of his back just above his spinal column...which is not where we have ever had his bolus needle inserted in the past so perhaps this is part of the issue.

Absolutely worst place for animal care. I took my dog in on Christmas. After the vet explained she needed surgery and at minimum would be $2000. I told them we could not afford that and would like to take her to her regular vet for a second opinion. Its Christmas. They wanted to give me quotes for different options but she did not give us a good prognosis even with surgery. So we explained that we wanted to take her to her regular vet for a different option the next day. Two and a half hours waiting and they didnt even give our dog pain medication. They kept calling with different quotes for different things including observations. I kept asking for my dog back. I was on hold multiple times for many minutes. Lisa was Rude and unprofessional and the police had to intervene just to be able to take our dog home. After we threatened to call the police to get our dog back, Lisa called them. As we are on the phone with 911 to attempt to get our dog back they showed up. After explaining the situation to the police that we just wanted to take our dog home after being there 2.5 hours and having requested our dog over an hour ago they were compassionate and understanding. We finally got to bring our dog home. No one should ever have to go through this horrible experience. I felt like I was at the flea market they kept trying to sell me different things when we just wanted to go home. I asked for pain meds and antibiotics and they didnt even give me that. In my opinion this place is just in it for the money. It saddens me that someone can not get upset and ask for their dog back without getting racially profiled and have the police called on them. When I asked the police why the police was called they said Lisa said I was upset. Of course we were upset we just wanted to take our dog home so our kids could say goodbye. Instead they were trying to keep her hostage.
