Even though our poor old kitty died in Se[tember Dr.Haugo s diagnosis and care instructions kept her alive for another year and a half. Now we presented Dr. Haugo with a new vat, and she was as tender and caring of this little orphan as she had been of our sophisticated Siamese!

I've had bad experiences with them in the past (mostly about not accepting new clients even if it's an emergency), but that was 3 years ago. My past couple of visits have gone smoothly. Dr. Haugo is fantastic.

Been bringing my cats to Desert Vets since 1989, and have NEVER had any trouble with the staff or the cost of services. They have always treated my furbabies with the utmost respect, loving and making them feel relaxed and comfortable. I will continue to take them to THEIR favorite doctor.

We are visitors to the Yuma area staying in an RV park. Our 9 week old Maltipoo puppy got sick 2 days after we got him. We showed up Sunday morning at 8:15, without calling or having an appt, hoping to be seen. Bloody diarrhea in a 3 1/2 lb puppy is very scary & we hoped would be an "emergency" situation. They got us in within a reasonable amount of time and took great care of us. The staff was all caring and efficient. They kept us informed as test results came up & the scarier possible causes for the puppy's problem were eliminated. We left with meds, instructions, & hope for a good recovery in a few days. We are very grateful they took such good care of us.

The website is awesome, the bio on staff looks great, but the customer service over the phone is where it all went bad - I called to ask for spay/neutering prices and the first person who answered needed to transfer me to someone else and then that person (name withheld) said she was "uncomfortable giving prices over the phone without an appointment." Umm, so, I need to make an appointment to find out the cost and then determine whether I'm going to keep the appointment?

Highly attentive, team approach to animal health care is found here! The vet tech we had is a rock star in my book. He perused the 34 pages of records we had from our previous vet clinic and correctly communicated to the doctor what was needed at our initial appointment. I ve never seen better team work!

We LOVE Dr. Alison... But to be fair, the entire staff at DVC is phenomenal! We drove from the Foothills (when there is a large vet hospital there!) bc they were the only ones in Yuma that are AAHA accredited. We continued to drive bc they were absolutely amazing in every other way as well. You cannot go wrong trusting them with your family pet!

This place is horrible I'm from San Diego and I've never met more incompetent, rude, unprofessional people I had to come twice well in town both time were emergencies we paid $400 the first day just for the vet to show up and another $100 because we didn't have an appointment. This was all before test and medication fees we didn't mind paying extra except we paid a lot extra for rudeness and uncertainty and both time we waited over a hour. It wasn't just this place either the humane society in Yuma is also trash. If my pets could have made it home to get care I would have rather taken them. Vets in San Diego care more it seems. Don't recommend this place if it and emergency. Or at all actually.

I took a new born kitten for a check up simce the mother abandoned him. They where very helpful and nice. I appreciate that they were honest about his chances of making it instead of getting my hopes up.

The people there are very welcoming both to me and my pup. They are knowledgeable, any questions I have had they answer in a way I can understand rather than just veterinarian jargen. They are very professional and affordable.

Poor customer service, callous and cruel (Client with appointment only service) on Sundays. Even injured animals will be turned away. I had to beg them to treat my injured animal. And they let him suffer in pain for an hour before he was seen by the Dr.

Last visit was heart wrenching for us, as our sweet baby passed away, Dr. WAPPLES cried with us, I just want to say this is the only veterinary hospital I trust to treat my babies. They are kind, caring, and treat you with respect.

I encourage anyone to seek care here for their pet.. Service available 7 days a week. The Dr's and staff are wonderful with our pet. Several years ago we went here due to a last minute need for care and never looked back to our previous clinic. Worth the drive even though we live some distance away. Excellent care.

Every doctor, tech & other staff member have always been so kind to me and my pets. They have taken care of my pets for over 12 years. Dr. Haugo runs a tight ship. The staff seems to care for and respect her as do I.

Very rude staff. Called to ask a couple questions for a sick husky pup and all they did was make me feel stupid and redirected me to another vet which was closed this Sunday. Maybe get some employees that actually care and have some enthusiasm for our pets. The dog is fine now and found some home remedies to help her poor stomach from other dog owners in my neighborhood. Just wish the experts would have been more helpful.

I called them at 9pm on a Wednesday for there after hours emergency care. I explained to the rude woman on the phone that my dog was suffering from Glycol poisoning and was going to die if he didnt get the medicine to counter act it. She asked if i have been a client of theres. I explained No, that i was new in town but my business was a half mile away. She told me that since i never was a client before that she would not pass the information on the the Vet. I told her i didnt know what to do and that my dog was going to die. She asked in a very sarcastic annoyed tone of voice "sooooo do you want the number to animal poison control?" oh yea she also gave me the number to a place in Mesa...IN MESA!! my dog later died and there would have been enough time to save him because it was cought quick. you could have saved my dog. ..im going to let everyone know. everyone i can. And i deal with a lot of people.

When I was a little boy my family brought our dog to DVC. Now grown up when I got dogs I thought first to bring them here. Ever since I was disappointed with administration mishandlings and botched appointments. I got my dogs out of there and moved them to another local Vet where these mistakes do not happen. To find out later that the only bright spot (the vet that saw us) no longer even worked there anymore shortly after we stopped using the place only confirmed it. I have never as a grown man met Dr. Haugo, maybe they are great, but the rest of the practice isn't worth it.

Constantly get hung up on when I call in (especially during lunchtime), condescending and downright mean attitudes from staff, and charged for things I shouldn't be charged for - I was charged $25 to fax my dog's vaccination history to my dog's boarding facility. Then, another time, charged for another annual wellness exam when I was only coming back for a followup for something (my dog had her wellness exam only months before). I always have to keep an eye on the bill and dispute things because they add on all these BS charges which they admit later were added on by mistake. I'd be fine with their mildly inflated prices if they didn't add all these extra charges on top of it! Update: I needed one last thing from them before transferring to another vet (a routine heart worm medication prescription for my dog) and they refused to call it in to her pharmacy or mail it to the pharmacy. So I have to stop by in person to pick it up and when I get here, tell me I have to bring her in to verify her weight. What a joke. They will nickel and dime you to your dog s death. GOODBYE.

My dog and I are here for dog food only. We are from Oregon where you can buy science hills prescription diet at petsmart. I had to wait to fill out paperwork and it has so far taken over 30 minute just to get paperwork. If I didn't have a prescription, I'm afraid to see how long it would take. I still have over an hour drive home but customer service is not a strong suit here! I started out with 3 stars. It has gotten worse! I would not recommend coming here if you need quicker service. Out of towners will wait even longer!

We have seen multiple vets at Desert Vet clinic over the past 12 years for our five animals. We have always had exceptional service with caring vets (no matter which vet we had the appointment with)

This is a very nice office. The receptionist greeted us and took our info. The veterinarian and the tech were great and took good care of us. Canine dental procedures are expensive ($$$)! It was very easy to find and they even keep Sunday hours.

We drive from El Centro to visit Desert Veterinary Clinic. Dr Haugo is absolutely amazing. Our new puppy has some stomach issues and she called multiple times to check on him and to make sure the medication is working and that he is improving. She is very thorough and validating.

Dr. Haugo is one of the most amazing people and veterinarians. She is straightforward and honest, trustworthy and kind. She is knowledgeable about many different animals. We are very grateful for her.

We love the vet. The staff however is not at all friendly or helpful! Our dog got sick we called and were told to come in and they would work us in. (We are established patients) When we got there we were told it would be an emergency visit $200.00. I called later to talk to our vet about this policy and never heard back. Poor customer service I'd say!

My baby snake was extremely bloated from the mid section down so I called and asked if they have any HERP vets in their clinic, I was told yes and we were set up with someone. During the visit all she did was take an x-ray and didn't run any tests, she spent maybe 5-10 minutes with us and then prescribed my snake 3 different medicines. She told me it was an "infection" from either bacteria or mites and that the medicine would help. So I trusted her and gave my snake the medicine daily. I watched him through out the next week and I didn't see a change but I figured it might take awhile, I kept giving him his medicine and hoping he would get better. On the last day of his medicine I put him away and I was going to make another appointment with the vet in the morning. When I woke up I went to do my morning routine and take care of him I found him dead in his tank. The medicine didn't help at all and he died. I wasted almost 300 dollars on the x-ray and the medicine when it was all for nothing. I have heard terrible things about this place and I don't plan on bringing any of my animals here again.

We had a great experience at Desert Vet Clinic. The staff were friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and they care about their patients. This is the first time Bubba hasn't wanted to leave a vet's office after staying some time there without his family. That just shows us how well he was treated even when we are not around. I will definitely visit this office in the future and will also highly recommend it to my friends.

We have been regulars here for over 3 years and both of our dogs love it! Other places generally make them feel uncomfortable and their prices are reasonable here I don't understand all the flack I can only ever think of 1 nurse/trainee/whatever she was being rude to me here on 1 occasion and fortunately I see she is no longer there. Excellent place and the surgeons will even answer you at 4 in the morning to verify that everything is okay with your pet when you're freaking out post surgery lol

EXTREMELY disappointed, we're are visiting Yuma and our dog broke her nail past the quick and it is turned at 90 degrees. Called to get an appointment (Sunday and only vet clinic open) to get the vet to fix it properly. Was told we are not taking new patients unless it is an emergency like getting hit by a car. Very upset as we love our pet very much. As a visitor I didn't feel they cared about our pets problem.

If I could give ZERO stars i would. I have a Puppy who is in need of a emergency check up. Went to this clinic(which is the only one open today) and the doors are locked( but closes at 6pm?)...called to get some type of help or appointment and they said " We're not taking in any new clients" and instantly turned us away without even hearing about my puppy. Absolutely awful people to turn away a sick puppy. Ill be recommending friends that do go there to seek a different vet.

Not so happy here, like the veterinarian but even being an established patient I could not get my dog in for 2 weeks for a condition that needed immediate attention. And then a long waiting time once in the room, probably won't go back

I called the vets office to try and get an appointment for my dog who I told the receptionist that she has had diarrhea for a few days and this morning started vomiting and will not eat or drink. She told me that since it was Presidents' Day that they are completely booked and that I should call another office. I told her that due to starting a travel nursing job in the area that I would be unable to go any place if they closed at 5pm since that's when my orientation ended. Honestly any place that is unsympathetic towards my concern and gives any other good alternative to my poor pet does not deserve to even be consider a animal health center.
