ADDENDUM: The manager came out to our car and apologized profusely for the wait. He offered to comp us, but I refused. I voice my displeasure not to get something for free. Unlike most, I believe in showing my true feelings 24/7. The fault here lies with the lack of communication. What truly lit my fire was the attitude of the tech on the phone who was snippy about us being told our dog was having an ultrasound. We never authorized an ultrasound. It turned out she provided wrong information. However, who wouldn t be upset after hearing this after almost two hours of waiting? Yet, this young tech s sensibilities were shaken because we expressed our displeasure. Her arrogance is ludicrous after having existed on this planet for about 25 years, if that. Her haughtiness is common in Seattle amongst people in their twenties. It s the fault of their parents making them think they re the best at everything and never should be told anything harsh. It will be interesting to see how this age group handles the economic depression that is coming our way.

I am absolutely livid with the arrogance of this animal clinic. We had an 11:00 AM appointment for our dog Roscoe during the pandemic. Procedure calls for waiting in the parking lot until a tech comes out to pick up your pet because of Covid. I get it.

It is now 12:47. Soon we will be waiting two hours. We called to find out what is going on. Initially, we were told our dog was getting an ultrasound. What! Without asking us!!! Then the person back tracked, and said she didn't know. We both exclaimed out loud, and the tech got upset with us! We were told to be patient. Huh? Is he getting an ultrasound or not! Why is it taking two hours?

I almost walked in to "do my thing, but my wife restrained me. The vet just called at 12:53. Nothing is wrong with our dog, and she was just running late. Two important other appointments had to be canceled because of the long wait. It was one of the most unprofessional experiences of my life. I would never trust my pet to a place that acts with such arrogance!

Just wanted to leave a big thank you for the oncology department at AMCS. Dr. Evans was fantastic at explaining my cat's test results and treatment options during what was a very upsetting time for me. Her staff members were always very sweet and patient with my cat, even when he was not being particularly likeable. And I've just received word that the treatment Dr. Evans recommended has shrunk my cat's lung tumor, which is better news than I dared to hope for. Thank you, AMCS!

Was told by my vet to take my dog to ER, they got me in quickly but after 4 hours of waiting in parking lot with no communication I had to call for an update. He had not even been seen yet and they wanted a deposit for when he would be seen in an ADDITIONAL 4-5 hours. Yes, i understand there may have been more critical cases that precedented mine but a phone call to update me as I was crying in the car for hours would have been appreciated. ESp as my pet has severe anxiety around those types of facilities.

They were very kind with their time and I was able to talk to an EMT tech when my dad's dog was in a bad way over the weekend even though they had a full triage room and couldn't take him in. When we tried to get in the next day they were able to accommodate my 88 yo father by taking our sweet pupper into their triage with a deposit so we didn't have to wait in the parking lot during Covid. Their staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and although we had to say goodbye to our faithful friend, they were very thoughtful and kind and we know he was well taken care of even though we couldn't accompany him through the night but were able to be there for his last moments. Thank you again Dr Debra Wulff and everyone at AMC Seattle from the bottom of our hearts for giving our Butterscotch dignity and relief during his final hours.

Took my dog here for an epilepsy consult and treatment. I really appreciated the expert advice they gave me and that they walked through my options but also gave their opinions clearly. My only real complaint is that when I got my pup back to take him home after he'd been there all day for treatment, he was pretty soaked in urine. Guessing he'd been left in a kennel too long? This is never an issue he's had before and I was surprised about it and that they didn't at least warn me ahead of time about the state he was in before I picked him up. He took a very long while to settle down once he got home too.

Outstanding facility. We had an emergency with our dog and they were able to take us right away. Dr. Cameron was kind and conscientious, and took such good care of our puppy. Considering the emergency services they provide, the cost was reasonable as well. Highly recommend.

Took our dog there at 10:45 this morning and sat in the parking lot til 1230 with no contact from the clinic til i called them. When i called the doctor still hadnt seen him so we put a deposit down so we could come home. Its almost 3pm with still no call so i called them again and the doctor still hasnt seen him. We will never use this place again and i wouldnt reccomend taking any animals there unless they are dying which isnt right. They should see the animals as they come in or get more doctors in to help. In response to your response, we brought him and watched 6 or 7 dogs trot in their on power and ours was not walking on his own power for 2 days but laying around looking half dead. Told he might have pancreatitus which could be brought on by trauma and after 8 hrs and $1000+ he is no better than he was when he went in. Not happy or satisfied!!!

They did such a good job with my kitty and his ultrasound! He was crying at night and while the bloodwork came back fine from his regular vet, I felt there was still something wrong. We got an ultrasound here, and they found no mass, no cancer (whew!) but mild pancreatitis! They gave him some medicine, and that night no crying! He is so comfortable and happy again :) Thank you!!

I m so grateful for the wonderful people who work here. The front desk staff are so friendly and accommodating. I ve taken my dog here for a medical emergency over a holiday when my regular vet couldn t see her. AMCS s vets were able to diagnose her condition and set us up with a treatment plan. The staff is so compassionate in what seems like a stressful work environment. Quality care + 24 hour service. I highly recommend AMCS.

We had a scare while in town on vacation. Our puppy apparently ate some marijuana off the ground at Alki beach. We had no idea what was going on and thought we were going to lose her. Wish people would be more careful with their drugs. Unfortunately, this seems to be happening often.
We brought her in and they were quick to diagnose her. Didn't charge an arm and a leg. Very thoughtful and caring staff. Our pup made a full recovery.
Thank you for your caring and helping us with our pup

I am so pleased with the service I received at Animal Medical Center. Everyone was extremely kind, and the veterinarian gave me clear, honest information about my pet s condition and treatment options so I could make the right choice. Unfortunately, she was in critical condition and I had to make the hard decision to put her down. They respected my decision, gave me plenty of time to say goodbye, and were very understanding throughout the entire process. A few days later I received a card in the mail, signed by the staff, and an ornament with her paw print. I m sure they handle these things every day, but the care and kindness they demonstrated made losing my pet a lot less painful for me and my family.

We feel truly blessed to have found Dr. Krystal Harris & her Oncology care team at AMC! Our kitty (literally our DAUGHTER of 13 years) was recently diagnosed with metastatic abdominal cancer. We were devastated. We took our kitty to AMC for evaluation. Dr. Harris is amazing! She immediately made us feel more comfortable, thoroughly explaining kitty s diagnosis & all treatment options. Dr. Harris offered mainstream medications AND applied cutting edge research findings to our kitty s treatment plan; with treatment we were able to improve our kitty s quality of life & optimize our time with her! The Oncology team went above & beyond to make us & our kitty feel welcome & comfortable! Brittanny (outstanding Oncology tech) took the time to check in with kitty s progress weekly & showed us how to give our kitty capsules at home! London was also awesome, helping out with kitty s care. The entire team demonstrated true care & concern for our kitty s well being! The front desk staff was also amazing; Nicole & Danielle always greeted us with a smile, making us feel more at ease during our visits. Nicole thoroughly answered our questions and assisted with follow ups & logistics. We truly appreciate all the care & compassion demonstrated by this amazing Oncology team! We highly recommend Dr. Harris & her team!

I m a new pet owner and my cat had an emergency. All the staff and doctors I dealt with were very patient with me as I have a lot of questions and called back a few times too. They took us back for a quick followup coz the cat was not responding to the treatment and only charged me a smaller fee. Dr. White was especially thorough and wonderful!

I'm very impressed with everyone at Animal Medical Center of Seattle. Gizmo, my half Jack Russell / Parts Unknown baby is there as I type this. I don't know as of yet if he'll pull through, but I do know he's in great hands.

Update: had to put my beloved little friend to sleep on 09 -11 at 5:30 pm. He had too many things going against him. I'm absolutely devastated, but thank everyone at AMC for their help and compassion shown to me and Gizzy.

This is one of the best veterinary experiences I have ever had in my 20 years of being a pet owner. My cat, Buster, was showing some imbalance and neurological symptoms so I took him to see veterinary neurologist, Dr. Swanson, who was fantastic. She and her team did an MRI of Buster to discover that he has double inner ear infections. As he is 17 and quite frail (and usually a very uncooperative patient!) I was very nervous about even putting him under anesthesia and thru this procedure, but her team took such stellar care of him and they said he did amazingly well! They truly put my mind at ease and now he's got the treatment he needs and is hopefully on his way to recovery. Dr. Swanson did a fantastic job and spent loads of time explaining all of the complexities of his case to me. She was amazing. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Dr. Baker has been caring for my kitten Pebbles all day today, he was very kind and explained what would need to happen to find out exactly what was wrong with her, he also explained to me that typically kittens in the shape she was in do not have favorable outcomes though he was very respectful at my wishes and wants to do everything we could for her. I can say the price for this particular visit was quite high I also do not know the going rates for ER vets so I have no room to speak on how much it is compared to other places. What I can say is that my cat is doing much much better and that there is no price I could put on her life. She's been in very good hands and very good care and seems to be doing much better. Even if this doesn't turn out that she is okay in the end I can say the service and quality of care is top notch, the doctors are very professional and I will be returning in the event of an emergency or even maybe for ongoing care as I do know that Pebbles has been well cared for. I'm very pleased with the service. Thank you for taking good care of my friend.

This year our dog, Sarah, was diagnosed with epilepsy. AMC's, Dr. Swanson and team, have been excellent to work with. We transitioned Sarah's care from a different neurology service in the Puget Sound area because we felt Dr. Swanson was more knowledgable. Her whole team has been very responsive to all of our questions and provide exceptional care to Sarah. We are grateful to have them guide us through this challenging time.

DO NOT GO HERE! Emergency vets almost killed my 18 month old Berner, charged me more money than I authorized, wanted to fly a surgeon from Colorado to perform a surgery that any surgeon could have done but I was not told, misread an ultrasound, saying there were 2 "masses" causing a surgeon to cut open an organ and find nothing there! Dr. Hutton was indignant and rude, threw papers in my face and told me to "get out of her hospital" because she performed HER treatment plan when instructed not to which almost caused my poor pup to lose a kidney or be put down do to a blown ureter and bladder! They charged me over $3500 over 3 weeks to get nothing! DO NOT GO THERE! #ANIMALSFIRST

I just wanted to say how thankful and appreciative I am of all the staff at Animal Medical Center. They not only are super caring to the animals, but really helped me through the hardest day.
After receiving terrible news the first vet I visited that my cat wasn't going to make it passed the night, I rushed her to this location to get a second opinion. Unfortunately, they were right, and while panicking and unable to make the terrible decision the techs really helped talk me through the confusion, guilt and pain. They gave me a private room with my kitty and allowed me to stay as long as I needed with her, before and after she passed. I was so thankful for that because it was so quiet, and I was able to calm her down for her final moments.
Her ashes came a couple weeks later and I wasn't expecting all the extras. There was a clay paw print with her name, tuft of her fur, an ink paw print, wildflower seeds and a nice solid wooden box that the ashes are in with a metal name plate.
Thank you all for all that you do and the care you put into our pets, you guys are great.

We had to bring our pup in a few nights after he had his front leg amputated for issues with pain. (He was screaming, it was awful).

They helped onboard some pain meds and let us chill a couple hours until the surgical center opened (where he had his surgery) so we could get some more specialized help for the problem.

The staff was super kind and helpful.

I wouldn't frequent this veterinary clinic again i...

I wouldn't frequent this veterinary clinic again if you paid me to. I brought my cat here because he hadn't eaten in three days due to constipation. I figured the veterinarian would put him on a feeding tube and fluids, administer a cat-friendly laxative, and we'd be on our way. I couldn't have been more wrong.

From the moment I arrived, my cat was taken from me. I was told he'd have to have full lab work done to check for kidney failure, which I knew wasn't the issue since he was urinating normally. I informed the veterinarian of his constipation and my suggested treatment plan, only to be blatantly ignored and slapped with a fee for lab work. I would have walked out right then if they'd given my cat back.

When the veterinarian returned to the consultation room, she informed me that he couldn't possibly be constipated because she'd inserted her entire finger into his rectum without anesthetic or my consent. The lab work had returned with reassurance that my cat was healthy, even above average. I was then told that he would have to be x-rayed, only to later be charged for two x-ray's when one was taken. This x-ray revealed that my cat was, in fact, constipated.

Next came the treatment plan, which you'd figure would require a laxative since her entire finger couldn't reach any fecal matter, right? Wrong. She insisted on manual waste removal, followed by two enema's and intravenous fluids without a feeding tube, even though my cat wouldn't eat. She insisted he would need painkillers after the manual extraction, but these painkillers were never administered. I was then told to leave the clinic, and to await a call when the procedure was complete. I never received that call.

I drove back to the clinic that night to check on my cat, and was told that he wasn't doing any better despite everything that was done to him. I was allowed to "say good night" to him, and could see that he was traumatized. He would not move, and was snarling the second he saw humans. This is a cat who has been through surgery for severe orthopedic fractures, and has been through all of the required veterinary visits afterward for x-ray's and such, and he has never once acted this way in a medical setting. He only calmed down once he recognized that I wasn't a veterinarian.

I was told that he had to stay overnight, and I was sent home after paying an additional fee. I returned the next morning to find my cat in a worse state than he'd been admitted. His first action when he got home was eating his litter out of stress. I was now in the market for a new litter that would be safe for him to ingest, which was terrifying because I'd never heard of a cat doing this before. I'd spent the last of my savings on a veterinary procedure that not only hurt my cat, but led to me spending even more money on new litter, food options, medications, and supplements outside of the veterinary clinic, and its recommendations, to fix what they couldn't.

It took over a week of effort, but I was able to save my cat. He has now begun to pass the stool that was the original blockage. What really made the difference was, you guessed it, a pet-friendly stool softener. I administered that, and have been following it with two servings of canned food daily mixed with sugar-free fiber. We've also switched from Blue Mountain Wilderness dry food, which caused the blockage, to Purina Gentle. None of this was recommended by the Animal Medical Center of Seattle, which had stressed that my eight pound cat was "obese" and "should be losing weight" when he was admitted for not eating in the first place.

The fact that this clinic continues to function is horrifying. A lot of the other animals admitted the same day as my cat were there for the same reasons. It's upsetting to recognize that these animals probably died in their owners' arms since the clinic couldn't provide an ounce of proper veterinary care. Please do what's best for your pet and take them anywhere else.

In brief, Brought our sweet dog in who out of the blue was having a major anxiety attack. 3 days prior she had her teeth cleaned so she had just had an exam and blood work done showing everything was fine. So we had know idea what was wrong. We brought her in she was seen right away. She had xrays and it was her back. Dr Turner was so kind and explained everything and came up with a plan. Their prices are more than reasonable. I would highly recommend this clinic for your after hour care. In addition, our other dog had surgery her a few years back and they were equally as wonderful. I am so happy that we brought her here and would do so again without question. Thank you dr. Turner and your staff

I went for an Consultation for my puppy who has a suspected liver shunt. It took me over two weeks to get an appointment to see a specialist. This place was referred to me by a friend

My appointment was at 8:30am, I was told that they need for the radiologist to come so they can do a ultra sound on my pup ! I have been sitting here for 2.5hours waiting for the radiologist to come.

The front desk could not tell me why they were not here for my appointment, why they took so long to get here and it seems that they went to another place before me but sitting here for hours with no ETA. It also seems that the radiologist can do what they want and amcs has no control over it. Super unprofessional to not have the right people here for my appointment especially since I was waiting so long for one. God forbid there was an emergency with my puppy!!!

I am unsure if I will go here now to get her surgery because I have no idea if the right people will even be there for that!

EDIT: To also add i've been waiting for 4 days now an estimate on the surgery cost and i keep being told everyday someone will send that day and nothing has still be sent to me

Beware! My dog, Duffy, had a partially lame hind leg. Dr. said he had patella luxation, he needed to have pins put in his knee, a $5,000 plus surgery. She said she did not believe it was his crucial ligament. I later found out that their surgery center does not do ligament repair surgery! Luckily
I took him for a 2nd opinion. They said there was no way it was patella luxation. He said he could not move or manipulate his knee at all during the exam. My dog eventually had surgery to repair his ligament, he's doing great! Could you imagine if he had the wrong surgery??? Unbelievable, they almost mutilated my dog for the extra money. Before writing this review, I called the office, explained the situation to the front desk, left a message for the manager, and never heard back.

My 15 year old dachshund, Lola, had made it through several surgeries, back legs not working, diapers.... you name it. 20 lives. Today came and she wouldnt eat, and couldnt get out of her bed.

I had been recommended to AMC from a friend and called. From the phone call I felt so comforted and supported. I walked in with my tiny best friend in the worst moment of my life and the staff took incredible care to be sure I was okay. They immediatly took me to a lovely room with a couch. They let me snuggle my girl while doing brief paperwork and even let me pay without having to stand at a counter blubbering.

They put an IV in her leg and even took the care to cut out a heart from the pink medical tape and put it on her paw. They treated her like gold, not like it was her last minutes.

The doc was incredible, kind, and gave me as much time as I needed with her.

I cant say enough about this place and the staff. It was the hardest day I can remember, but they made it bearable.

Thank you to everyone I encountered today, in a dazed state. RIP my sweet Lola.

If you should encounter such a day, go here. Hands down.

We had a very bad experience at this place. Our dog was seen for kennel cough and discharged without antibiotics, which was fine because many dogs recover without needing them. The vet who was kind and professional wrote in his discharge summary that if we felt our dog was getting worse "to call (the medical clinic), or take him to our regular vet". When his symptoms did worsen 3 days later I called to report it, and to ask whether he should be put on antibiotics. End of day one: no return call. Morning of day two: I called again to report symptoms, ask about antibiotics, and request a return call. Evening of day two: no return call. Very frustrated and concerned about my dog, I called that evening for a third time. The receptionist transferred my call "to the back" where someone picked up who did not identify herself. There was not a hint of an apology nor concern for my sick dog. In fact, as I tried again to ask whether my dog might need antibiotics, this person insinuated if I was so concerned, I should have brought my dog back to be looked at again. She would not acknowledge the reference in the discharge summary to "call." Furthermore, she accused me of being rude and hurriedly moved to transfer my call to a manager (who was not on duty) so she could hang up (never addressing my concerns about my sick dog). I left a voicemail summarizing my concerns and asked the manager to call me. Now: 20 hours later: I have yet to hear from anyone.
Suffice it to say, we will never take any of our pets back there, nor would I recommend the place to anyone! Also, Google will not allow me to give no stars...

We took our elderly dog in on a Sunday, as she was rapidly declining (not completely unexpected). From the moment we drove in to the parking lot, the whole experience was warm, honest, and caring. A vet tech greeted us as soon as we arrived, listened attentively, asked questions and then immediately took our girl back to the clinic. After only about a 5 minute wait, we met with Dr. Hutton- who confirmed what we already expected (that our girl was close to death). The doctor was personable and caring. The staff warmed our girl up (her body temp was very low), which allowed us the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time with her until we were ready to say goodbye. The staff was especially great with our 4 1/2 year old; they distracted him when we first arrived, but yet were caring when we were all upset by having to say goodbye to our sweet girl. I highly recommend this clinic- this will now be our go-to urgent care clinic.

Visited for neurology consult. Good experience.

My dog has a lot of chronic issues and this includes muscle spasming. My regular vet recommended I see a neurologist and I picked this place.

The veterinarian put a lot of thought into my dog's case and had a long and very helpful and informative conversation with me about his complicated medical history, possible causes, quality of life, and potential treatments. We picked a treatment plan to move forward.

Overall really happy with the communication, it seems like some vets get annoyed at how complicated my dog's problems are but this vet was really interested in all the complicated things and how we can optimize his health.

Thank you!!

The tech came out and loved MacDuff! She put him at ease right away. Took him back for a check up before the doctor. Brought him back out to wait with me because, she said, he would be more comfortable with his mama......after the vet, Dr. Snyder checked him over, she gave us a plan for the hot spot on his body and how to care for it. Other clients/patients came and went, the staff was the same with everyone. Great place. Ambiance with fireplace on a cold day was grately appreciated. Thank you so much!

This place is very understaffed. They also seem to favor dogs and take advantage of being an emergency clinic to charge extremely high prices.

I waited in the parking lot for 4.5 hours after spending 2.5 hours at my primary vet. I understand there are more critical cases that need attention but the least they can do is have the desk attendants give me and update. We were done with the doctor and told "We can bring your cat out in about 30 minutes"... An hour later I call to check in and they have no information, only that they can't check my cat out because everyone's busy.

The cost breakdown not only includes a statement that "the cost may change within 10%" to cover unexpected charges (understandable), but they charge a $200 "miscellaneous" item which they explained is for "unexpected charges".

Ugh. Seattle needs more emergency vet clinics.

Also they don t tell you everything you need to know about stent surgery. If you call a 15 minute phone consult no paperwork or emails about what they talked about informing. My dog is worse off after surgery than before.

I brought my dog cause he had diarrhea with blood and was vomiting and wasn t eating . We got there around 2-3pm and they went to check his vitals they said it would take 5-10 minutes then it will be a 1-2 hour wait. We agreed and they took him but they still didn t update us after 45 minutes for his vitals and we called twice. Then they finally told us we could go with the $500 deposit. We waited FIVE HOURS for the doctor to get to him but he never did and we had to call 4 times for them to update us. We picked him up and left. We understand there were emergencies but they could ve told us there was gonna be more of a wait. When we got home he was so thirsty as if he hadn t had anything to eat for all those hours. He was in a kennel for 5 hours with no water?! Their service was useless and we could ve gotten help from other places if they just told us. Never again coming here!!!

I took my cat Luna here for management of her transitional cell carcinoma. Everyone I worked with was very kind and professional, especially Dr. Davis in Oncology and Dr. Liwski in Surgery. Dr. Davis helped me make good decisions regarding how we pursued her care, and gave me hope and realistic goals in a really scary situation. She was very well versed in the most recent papers on TCC in cats which I immensely appreciated. Dr. Liwski kept me continually updated through surgery and was very patient answering all my questions and incredibly compassionate when it mattered the most. I very much recommend the AMCS, and the travel time (I live in Bellingham) was without a doubt, worth it. They did a great job taking care of my little girl.

I had the privilege of meeting and having Dr. Swanson take a look at my little boy, a year old yellow Labrador retriever named Alaskan Moose Nugget , we just called him Nuggie.
The day he turned a year old we noticed him dragging his back left leg. After taking him to my Veterinarian here in Alaska. We could not determine what was causing his issue. After 4 agonizing days I called Neurology here and Dr Swanson called me back within an hour. I booked a ticket to Seattle on the night of Nov. 11, 2020. I brought my Nuggie to see her that next morning. She and her staff were some of the most passionate and caring people I have ever had the pleasure to have worked with to take care of my puppy. I thank you for that Dr. Swanson.
After the MRI was complete I learned how sick my boy was. The outlook wasn t good. I am sad to say my little boy Nuggie was so sick he deteriorated within 6 days of returning home on November 13 and was nearly completely paralyzed in his hind legs from a tumor in his spine. We sent Nuggie to heaven on November 19, 2020.
Between my vet here in Alaska Chugach Veterinary Practice and Dr Swanson s team we were able to find out what he had and how long we were to have with our boy. Although we had a short time with him after his diagnosis, we brought him home and loved him and was able to say goodbye and in that time filled our heart's. We love and miss him very much.
Thank you Dr. Swanson you are a true professional and a caring, loving person. Please look for a gift from my wife and I that we are sending you here in the next week or so, as a THANK YOU.
You are the best,
Tom & Joyce Huffer

I never write reviews but these folks are so good they deserve praise for all they do! On multiple occasions they have done fantastic work caring for our senior cat. He can be rather grumpy about vets but they not only tolerated his abuse, but made the extra effort to habituate him to vet visits so he isn't such a monster when they're trying help him. These are very nice people who genuinely care about animals and the people who love them. I wish there was a human hospital this good!

Dr. White and Dr. Johnson are amazing! I called the ER in Lynnwood and Kirkland. Both were at capacity and not taking in any more animals. I call Shoreline and they said no problem. My little yorkie was experiencing heart failure. Dr. White, Dr. Johnson and the ER staff were very responsive and patient with me. They went over every detail and were very up front. Very compassionate, caring and showed complete empathy during the entire process. I was able to take my little boy home after two days. Not cheap, but well worth it and will do it again.

My dog had a surgery at this place. It was an emergency and I really appreciate that I ended up in this place instead of any other clinic.
I liked how they do the business, people at front desk were always professional and polite during calls, and doctors were very helpful and informative, too.
The surgery went all good, thanks Dr. Austin Kerns and all personnel.

My kitten had an emergency and I took her here to have her checked. I did not like that I was not allowed to be with her during her exam. Otherwise, I found the initial exam fee reasonable and the veterinarian I spoke to seemed caring and professional. All of the staff were friendly and easy to work with. I would bring my kitten here again in an emergency situation.

I have used this facility 4 times over the years f...

I have used this facility 4 times over the years for pup emergencies (different dogs for different reasons). While they are expensive, their services, nurses & doctors are second to none. They are straight forward, do not over-treat (surgery and a tube when a stitch would suffice for example), and gentle to both pet and owner. I will by far RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY OVER ANY OTHER IN THE AREA.

The reason I CAN'T GIVE THEM 5 STARS is because the front desk person is so non-reactive. When I come in with a dog bleeding to death in my arms, or pull up honking, I expect someone to run to meet me, or at least start the process of getting a trauma care person to assist... Not slowly stand up behind the desk, pet their dog, then ask me if I need help. This has happened EVERY time I've been there. I understand that keeping calm is a important part of the position, but ANY sense of urgency would be more appropriate when dealing with obvious life and death situations.

Thank you for reading this.

I wrote a 5 star review for this place previously. They used to have nice front office people, but not any more since they moved to the new location. I took my dogs to the new one twice: yesterday and today. I was checked in by a diffent person at each visit. Both of them were not willing to assist at all. Tonight my dogs and I was checked in little after 5pm and waited in a freaking cold exam room until 7:43pm w/o being seen by a doctor nor being checked by anyone after my dog got vital at first. I walked to the front office twice while waiting, but her attitude was completely careless. (The room has no heat. Really cold) When I finally said that we're leaving. She just said, ''ok''. Since its an emergency hospital, I expect to wait. My complaint is simply about the front office. The doctors and nurses are still great.

We had to say "goodbye" to our 17 year old Beagle, Magoo, today. Our family appreciates the people at the Animal Medical Center of Seattle for all of their hard work to try to save him.
You will NOT find a place with people more professional, honest and respectful. They are always open, available and ready. They accommodated and encouraged our family's many visits at odd hours, and they were honest and professional in their diagnosis and prognosis- delivered with care and respect. You can be confident in their knowledge and treatment. God bless you all who work there.

While the staff is very friendly and well meaning,...

While the staff is very friendly and well meaning, I have personally found them to be very lackadaisical. I have had to check their work on numerous occasions, including correcting dosages, ask over multiple visits for services I have already paid for, and hound staff to answer questions via phone or email. They have tried to say they didn't receive the email, but as soon as I showed them said emails on my phone they admit they saw them and just forgot to answer. Even after bringing this up with office management I never received an answer via email, I had to wait until my next appointment. They also seem to love to push for extra in house therapies and care- some of which are valid, but costly at their location. They are timely when you have an appointment, and again, very friendly. I just don't trust them for day to day care.

However, when it comes to emergency care I had a much better experience. They did fantastic when I brought in one of my dogs for an emergency after he was attacked by another dog. Unfortunately their surgeon was away and my dog would have had to wait a few extra days to get his surgery, so I chose to move him to another animal hospital so that he could be taken care of immediately. I was slightly put off by the fact that he was going to have to wait to receive care, however during the actual emergency they did great!

Over all I would not recommend unless it is an emergency situation.

We recently relocated out here from Ny and did not get established at a vet yet when Both of my dogs ended up with GI bugs and needed emergency assistance. I ended up having to make 3 different trips out to hospital with one being in the middle of the night. I can not express to you how wonderful and caring all of the staff was here. Also i want you to know the reason it was 3 trips is because one dog got sick then the next day the other did then the third trip was because my older Boston was not taking his meds and started throwing up again. I probably didn t need to make the 3rd trip but my worry got the best of me. The doctor was amazing he was able to not only help miles (Boston ) but ran some blood work to make sure nothing had change medically with miles. They consulted with me prior to running any tests to make sure it was ok. Which as expenses go I appreciated that. The hospital is very clean with plenty of parking. They seem to always be busy but as far as waits go they are going to be the lesser time wise for you plus they immediately triage him to make sure it was not critical and he could wait the time needed to be seen. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the care they provided I only wish the doctors that my dogs saw there were able to follow up with him for regular care but they only do emergency care.

What a great experience! My dog had an allergic reaction to something and the staff were quick to get her in and taken care of. I felt comfortable and confident with the care that she received even though I didn't get to go in with her because of covid. I got several phone call updates thought-out her multi hour stay. I also got sent home with detailed discharge instructions and the assessment findings which were incredibly helpful to bring to my follow up appointment with her normal vet.

My Sheltie MacDuff, has a small malignant tumor in his hind quarters and was referred to Dr. Davis. She has been outstanding as well as her staff. After a full check up before treatment, they discovered he had kidney disease - and are now treating that. It has made a remarkable difference in MacDuff's wellbeing, being that he has much more energy and is much brighter! So going in for one thing and being treated for another they discovered shows me they care for the whole picture. I highly recommend them!

It is with heartfelt gratitude that we extend our thanks for all of the care, kindness and medical interventions given to Wilson while he was under your watch. From the friendly staff answering the phone and talking through the costs, to the nurses and techs implementing orders and keeping Wilson comfortable, to the excellent veterinarians guiding the treatment plan. Each person on the team did their job with excellence, and it showed. We are so blessed to have Wilson back home and healthy. He is a beloved part of our family and we were not ready to let him go.
All of our thanks.

I am sitting here at the clinic as I type this. Worried and with no update, my pup was taken into a room and so far it's been almost 2 hours. At first, I thought I heard him yelping (wasn't sure if staff or attendants were examining him). It would be nice for someone to approach and let us know what is happening at least. We brought him in for a back paw he was favoring and licking and started to look infected and he wouldn't let us touch it. I was curious about what the reviews were on this place and noticed someone else also had the same waiting-no word experience. A staff member approached me just now and stated that their "stabilization " rounds were over and the next ER vet just came in and just finished a meeting with another Vet and will start exams now- wait what? I understand that there is a process but come on.. Communication is key people, especially for those like me that are suspect.
The saving grace for this review is the doc who finally came in, was pleasant enough and explained some things so feeling a little bit better.
If the aesthetics of the place are any indication of what the bill will be...... I'm in trouble.

I brought my 10 month old puppy here for the first time, due to ingesting something she shouldn t have. Nicole, at the front desk, Jeni, the LVT, and Dr. Attermeier helped during our visit. They were all very prompt, welcoming, and genuinely cared about Luna. Once we left the office doors she was ready to go back inside. I highly recommend this office to anyone who needs urgent and thorough care for their animals.

This place is amazing. I'm saying that after being told my best freind of 15yrs needs to be put down. They were polite respectful gave me every option no matter how slim the chances of success. This after being told at another emergency vet that they didn't have time. What kind of emergency room doesn't have time for a medical emergency. To top it all off I was $150 short of paying for the services here and they didn't give me any trouble about billing me for the rest unlike the other vet I had tried. They were very reasonable on their prices. For xray, ultrasound, specialists to look at the data beyond the acting vet, diagnostics, and keeping him under observation for most the day cost under $1400 the honesty, kindness, and understanding were free.

Our geriatric cat was exhibiting abnormal behavior...

Our geriatric cat was exhibiting abnormal behavior last week and we thought she had either lost her vision, had a stroke, or had an adverse reaction to Activyl flea meds. We initially took her to Seattle Veterinary Specialists where we had an awful experience with the staff and doctors who were rude, condescending, and dismissive of our cat's symptoms, stating they didn't know why we brought her in and sending us home. That is when I decided to call AMCS to get a second opinion and I am so glad I did.

AMCS staff were kind, compassionate, and most importantly, they were thorough. They agreed her symptoms were concerning and immediately got us in for an MRI the following morning. Dr. Swanson was wonderful, she explained everything in great detail, she consistently called us to check in, and she was upfront about the cost. We found out that our cat likely had a stroke AND they also caught a mass on her lungs (SVS did not catch this or the stroke as they didn't take us seriously). I am forever grateful to Dr. Swanson and all of the AMCS staff we came in contact with, they were truly concerned about our cat and they were compassionate towards us as we navigated this difficult situation. I highly recommend AMCS and we will be taking our cat here going forward for her lung mass treatment. Thank you AMCS!
