I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We were treated like absolute garbage.
Long story short, our puppy fell down the stairs last night and immediately started having seizures. Between seizures he was very hyperactive, losing control of his muscles and balance, circling, etc. (all tell tale signs of a TBI according to multiple veterinary case studies and manuals. Upon calling our vet to find out if our pup could get in, we were told it would be better to take him to ER based solely on the severe signs of brain trauma that he was exhibiting.
When we arrived at the pet hospital we were immediately asked to sign a CPR release form since the condition of our guy showed that he needed immediate attention.
We were immediately accused of lying. With accusations that our dog did not fall down the stairs, and instead got into the drug stash that we MUST have in our home (why would I lie about what happened when I am just trying to get my dog treatment???).
By the end of this entire ordeal we were accused by not one, not two, but FOUR people of giving our dog drugs. If anyone knows one thing about me, it s that I don t do medicine. The only drugs we have in this house are infants Tylenol for my kids and Claritin for my husband. Our dog was not even evaluated for the TBI that we brought him in for. No X-rays or CT scans were done for conclusive evidence. So, a sleepless night without our pup, and a $500 vet bill later; we ve just arrived home and he is in no better shape than when we dropped him off. In fact, contrary to what the vet tech said when we picked him up, he is NOT doing better. Seizures have continued. Muscle spasms have continued and he has just lost all bladder control, causing him to urinate all over himself.
Shame on you, Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency, for not treating my dog for the symptoms that he exhibited and instead accusing a college educated Master s degree student/ mother who works for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT of giving her 10 month old puppy DRUGS.
