Friendliest staff, stayed for 2 nights, the weather wasn't with us unfortunately but the staff excellent and friendly attitude made the trip. Resort offers something for all types of getaways from hotel rooms to family holiday houses.

Did a site inspection for all type of rooms as we are looking to get married here and they offer many options and flexible

Highly recommend.

The service in terms of transportation from and to the resort is great. Staff at the reception and on the buses are very friendly. Customer service by email was usually quick and always helpful.
We had booked a villa and were very pleased with the size and furnishings.
However, there are also deductions. The staff in the Maheno restaurant gave a stressed impression. As a buffet restaurant there is a lot of crockery and there doesn't seem to be enough staff. Because the employees not only clear the tables, but also refill everything at the buffet. At the same time, they place the guests and bring separate orders to the tables. I expect more from a 4 * star hotel. In particular by a Mercure run house.
Furthermore, the buffet has a lot of upside potential. It's not about diversity for me, it basically suits me. Rather, the warm components should also be warm. Breakfast, for example, the scrambled eggs are liquid and cold, fried eggs are almost cold, and grilled vegetables are cold. And it didn't matter when you come. We tried all times from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. And unfortunately always the same. And to our regret, it's not much different in the evening either. Furthermore, a buffet can also be prepared more lovingly with the constant reloading of food. I know canteens that can do this much better. I am also very disappointed with this 4-star hotel complex. It should also be noted that the pans that were kept warm were partially defective, because the lids closed again on their own. If you hold a plate in your hand but need both hands to fill it, that's rather bad.

3 nights 4 days spent at kingfisher bay resort. Lovely staff, room was great, spent way too much time at the sunset bar. Explored the island and decided the western side where kingfisher is located is better than the eastern side where everything else is located. Definitely would stay at kingfisher again over any other accommodation on Fraser.

What a great place to stay and explore. Our adventure made more memorable because of the genuinely friendly and engaging staff all throughout the resort and this is extended to the passing locals who were happy to help in unforseen circumstances that can occur while exploring the island Thankyou for a wonderful experience.

Everything is Overpriced. Crappy food. Dated hotel and amenities. No clear signs to reach our room. Both bedrooms had no a.c. The living room had an a.c

They're not bothered. Rooms are usually full anyways coz of the Island.

The resort is slightly out dated and could use a freshen up overall. Pool and some facilities are damaged and in need of repair.
Staff at reception were not forthcoming with any information. If you didn't ask the right questions you may have missed out. Other travellers were more informative, with events around the island.
Don't order cocktails through the barstaff, it turned into kaos, and the employee had a meltdown!! Couldn't handle the pressure!
Local tour guide Wayne was fabulous for our day trip. Very informative and entertaining for the day. We did the Island flight and found it worth it all be it a short view.
We will be back to explore the island in the future. Cheers

Very nice resort and Island, fantastic place and Nature. We did Beuty Sports Day tour with our Guide/driver Emily. She really made our Day, Five star guide, excellent knowledge, stories, fun and extremly serviceminded. TOP

Fantastic place. We stayed in a self contained 2 bedroom villa which was good value in the off peak season but it does get expensive in the peak periods. Service was friendly but a little slow at times ( most likely due to running less staff due to Covid) we will be back but only in off peak.

I had a room on the complex 9 years ago. It was nice. So this time I booked a villa.
The villa was good. Clean, big.
However, the facility as such is run down. The pool areas are unclean. The staff rarely clears away dishes and rubbish. There is hair and residue in the water that the filters cannot manage.
The food is bad and not very varied. The staff is totally overwhelmed. Often there is a lack of cutlery and nobody rules for 15 minutes. It's noisy. The pepper and salt mills are the cheapest quality and practically do not work.
One looks in vain for spit protection over the food. Everyone is allowed to cough a little here. The plates are often dirty. I often only used the 2nd or 3rd plate.
For a booked day trip, a German Mp3 guide was promised in advance in writing. This could not be given to me on site.
Never again. The complex has the quality 'cheapest all-inclusive vacation'.

Great glancing location to get to the rest of the island. Good staff very friendly. Good mix of restaurants. Will go again.

Booking and reservation staff are not at all friendly and totally unreliable.

This is the main Resort on Fraser Island which is the largest Sandbar in the world. The resort is lovely and is tucked into the island in a way that it doesn't destroy the natural beauty of the island.

Everything was amazing, the relaxed atmosphere, tour guides especially Kevin, the food at the seabelle, the only downside is rooms not airing enough to have fresh air flow hence a damp smell.

Does anyone have a coupon code for this resort? I have a coupon code, it registers on their website but then doesn't deduct the discount. I'd like to book over NYE, so it's as 'peak' as it gets!

Totally recommend staying at this well run resort. We had a Wallum room for 3 nights which was well equipped and quiet. The quality of food at all the restaurants is pretty good. The breakfast buffet was your standard kind. The staff were all fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable.

Awesome place to stay or have a meal on Fraser Island. Food is comparatively on the expensive side but it is worth it.

Had lunch here. 4 Stars due to a staff member asking us to be seated and he will send someone to take our order, but no one did. Ultimately, we had to go to the bar to order. If he had mentioned that earlier, we wouldn't have wasted 30 mins waiting.

Unless you're camping kingfisher is I feel the best resort to stay in. Its no 5 star resort but is probably the best available on the island. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which had enough beds for my family of 5. Given many people bring supplies from the mainland (there is a small shop in the petrol station) it would make sense to have the fridge on for arrivals. As it was it wasn't till the next day that the fridge got cold. Maintenance was nice enough to bring a bar fridge in to tide us over so that helped at least.

Facilities are good and staff are friendly but my one big gripe is the buffet breakfast. It's not the range that I have issue with as I do know it's an island, but whoever the chef is in Jan 12-14 in the morning has no care for what is being put out at all. The sausages are being overcooked to the point where it is difficult for a knife to even cut through and have the texture of a rubber bullet. The scrambled eggs looked like they were made with a blender and were dry with no seasoning. Any chef should be ashamed of what is being put out (maybe they're vegan/vegetarian and won't taste the food?). Again it's not about range it's just about cooking it right when you are charging resort prices. On the positive side the wife was very happy with the barrista made coffee.

Overall its a good place to stay to explore Fraser (we hired a 4wd from Aussietrax). Other food we tried was good, but be wary of paying for buffet breakfast if you like starting your day with something tasty.

Overall good, furnishing, bathroom and kitchen good. However, check in not available until 4pm when 2pm was advertised, cleaning crew delays. Drinks were provided while waiting. A few broken light bulbs

Hidden away in Australia surrounded by dingoes on Fraser Island you will find a nice little bar/bistro with a pool and activities for kids. Acceptable prices for the location. Accessible by boat and ferry only. A nice little find!

From the reception on the mainland to the welcome and reception on the island, was great. The staff was really friendly and helpful, be that the welcoming party or the waiting staff. Loved the number of varied activities available. We went to the Sand & Wood restaurant which was wonderful with the heater sitting outside. What we didn't like at all was the thin walls in the rooms, you can hear the conversations of your neighbors. The bathroom was okay, nice natural light through the glass window, but it's not that modern. Went on the whale watching tour which was fantastic. The host was really down to earth and the overall service was wonderful.

Great.

Great.
It's also surrounded by a dingo proof fence for anyone concerned about their kids.

The staff of the entire hotel area is very nice and explains everything in detail. On arrival you will receive a booklet on which all tours / activities within 1-2 weeks are possible, for families as well as couples or alone. We had the small night walk and a guided tour with the canoe boat. The night walk with $ 10 / $ 5 per person / child is highly recommended for nature lovers. The canoe trip with $ 30 per person is also fun.

The room in the area "a Wing" is ok, but not very special and a bit old. Partly you hear the steps of the upper neighbor, because the houses are made of wood.

In the rooms and in many places of the hotel area is free Wi-Fi (slow).

The entire complex offers two pools. However, it is on the "Lake McKenzie" a thousand times nicer Also recommended are the "champagne pools" Here you can either rent a Jeep on your own or enjoy a guided tour both mentioned excursions. Because of low tide and high tide, you have to pay attention to the rides on the beach! When the tide is high, no beach ride is possible anymore! Whoever drives the time inland should know that you can not drive faster than 20 km / h and that you can not see anything special on the way, but only at the lakes. As soon as you leave the hotel, there is no paved road and there are no roots or deep holes. The roads are mainly only as wide as a car, so you often have to use the small intermediate bays, so that the opposing driver comes through. (Hint: if you rent a car at Kingfisher Bay, you will be well taken care of on the sometimes trickier roads, where you are even required to watch a 40min instruction video.) We need the following travel times:
- From the hotel to Lake McKenzie about 35min
- from Lake McKience to Eurong 30min
- from Eurong to champagne pools 2 hours

The breakfast is a lot offered (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs, cold cuts (cheese / sausage), toast, croissant, cereals, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and typical English breakfast.
Overall, the island is very nice, but also quite expensive.

Our visit to Kingfisher Bay Resort - and Fraser Island - will be unforgettable.
The complex is located in the middle of the jungle and still on the beach. To get into the rooms, you actually walk through the jungle (see photos).
The rooms are large and the view to the jungle was fantastic (see photos). On the large balcony one could experience in twilight the chirped and chirping thousands of birds and other jungle inhabitants. The hotel is great, the restaurant too. The waiters are sometimes with the many guests very demanding, but always friendly. Our dinner was a bit late, which was excused with a good bottle of wine. We had a wonderful stay.

The location is great but the hotel is run down and overpriced. Definitely not worth paying for spa rooms (just an old spa bath in back of bathroom) or views which are nothing special and very limited.

An absolutely beautiful place! You could stay here forever and just rejoice in all the beautiful nature! The activities on offer here were awesome, including their eco and educational tours. The restaurant also serves really good food too. All in all, Kingfisher Bay Resort seemed to have all the facilities and services to cater for everyone!

Absolutely stunning area. The resort is right in the beach, and is completely fenced off from dingoes. They have lots of tours to take around Fraser Island, but there seems to be a lack of things to do on resort property other than the pool, so if you don't want to see fraser island, I hope you like lying on the beach/poolside.

Paid top dollar for the resort experience for my 40th. The villa was nice and spacious, great view and the kookaburras were a bonus that would come up to the balcony and you could feed them by hand. However, unfortunately the kitchen was not the cleanest, food and crumbs were found in the drawers, not enough tea and coffee (we booked for 4 nights and got one tea bag and one coffee sachets). Towels minimal, and blankets for a cold night sparce. The resort staff were unfortunately not helpful at all. We were provided very limited information about everything on the island and what was required for permits, ferry etc. The booking in itself was extremely stressful because as time got closer to arriving we were unable to reach anyone either via phone, email or Facebook for days. Completely unprofessional. It's a shame because it is a beautiful spot. I would visit Fraser again but won't be back to resort due to our experience.

Had a great vacation here.

Forgot the guys name, but curley haired guy at the jetty bar that ran the rentals went above and beyond. Made our fishing experience great.

Great enviornmentally responsible resort..Handled Covid regulations perfectly. All the staff particularly wait staff were excellent ,attentive and extremely polite..no long delays on food which was excellent quality. The inclusions in our package were great, day trip around the island and whale watching.we added the sunset cruise as an extra which was also good ..highly recommended

Terrible room. Many thing didn't work - the spa (which we paid extra for), the door key to even get into our room, the kettle, the TV, the screen door, the balcony glass doors or the reading lights. All Reception kept saying was, "Sorry, we'll get Maintenance onto in and "Thank-you for not getting mad at us". Duty Manager (name starts with J), did nothing despite me personally asking him to investigate the matter and get back to me with a resolution. Highly disappointed.

Hi Kingfisher Bay Resort- it's now been over a week since I sent your team an email (as requested by you to address this situation) and I haven't heard back. #KingfisherBayResortFail

Stay away. Very dated and dirty rooms, extremely poor restaurant service for lunches and dinners (the breakfast crew was good). The place is sadly resting on its laurels but is an absolute scam. The sunset bar is a joke as the bartenders can't make cocktails, and are unable to provide any finger food. The fancy restaurant is extremely slow, food came cold, 45 mn for a bottle of wine, etc etc. Wife's birthday dinner ruined. They said they'd send a customer survey after our party of 8 (!) complained, it never came. Avoid.

Very dated but spacious accommodation (we had a 2 bed spa villa); warm friendly staff throughout our stay; heavily overpriced food. Needs a really thorough revamp. Beautiful island though.

We stayed 2 night over there.

We stayed 2 night over there.

1. first room - we checked in a 3 bed room villar, there were small animal poos everywhere. We called reception 3 times to get a room change which took us 1.5 hours.

2. second room - We have been changed to is a 2 bedroom villar with rubbish in the bathroom and used milk in the fridge.

We negotiated with duty manager the second day whole day, was informed that, in an environment like fraiser island, small animal and poos should be expected inside the room.

The night shift duty manager helped to adjust the room rate to a "reasonable" amount, however, I have wasted a whole day to resolve the issue.

Except the room and day time duty manager, other services and stuff are nice.

Advise to the hotel: Please update your terms and condition to include "small animals and animal poos are expected inside the room". This is fair to your customer!

Had dinner at the seabelle restaurant. The food was superb, comprising locally sourced ingredients and bush tucker. Even the deserts, I had the wattle seed mousse, which was a highly original dish and truly delicious. The wait staff were professional and courteous but friendly and interactive with our party of 11. I would recommend dining here.

This used to be a great place to visit .but unfortunately now is no where near as good .Staff uniforms are quite dowdy in comparison to the beautiful shirts and blouses they used to wear. I think a lot of the staff are on "work experience " fromTAFE or similar so unfortunately questions asked get differing answers .reception seems to be the worst affected and unfortunately the food is far below the standard we associate with Accor Hotels .so stay on the mainland and just visit for the day
