A Nightmare! This review is for the adult section of the emergency room. Brought my mother here, on her doctor's recommendation, for a CT Scan after her fall. The place reminds me of a scene from the TV show M.A.S.H., after the alarms were sounded for incoming wounded. Stretchers double parked with patients throughout the entire floor. Staff flying past with absolutely no intention of stopping to introduce, greet, meet, assist, or even inquire who that patient in the gurney might be. Sometimes staffers would walk by calling out patient names in attempt to locate them before they run off and disappear again, which I found somewhat entertaining at times. Staff are very polite and friendly when you do get someone's attention, but getting that attention can be a monumental task. At no time are you provided with any update as to what might be going on during your time in captivity there, unless you hunt someone down and plead with them for a nugget of information. But, like I said, they are very polite once you have corralled someone. Even though the staff really do seem to be constantly busy, I find it interesting that they still have time to chit chat with each other while all the chaos around them marches on. I get the sense that everyone has become so used to the chaotic environment that they really don't notice how absolutely ridiculous this place is. I do applaud them though for being able to seemingly ignore the insanity around them, but maybe that ability might be part of the problem that exists here. Our day here amounted to 9 hours for an X-ray and CT Scan, which included the wait time for results, and then the wait for the ambulance. Which was peanuts compared to some others that I spoke with who were there much longer without having any tests performed at all. So, I sincerely don't think that we will be returning to this medical center again, unless it's in the coroner's wagon. The hospital administration should really make an honest attempt to improve the conditions there for both the patients, and their hardworking employees. Because what is going on there is completely unnecessary, and I'm sure things can be addressed with just a wee bit of oversight.
