The worst hospital ever, specially Dr. Dmitry Zadushnuy he works on fifth floor. He is rude, unprofessional, he can't talk normally to the patients. We had such a bad experience because of this doctor. Not recommended. The worst doctor ever. Very disappointed.. We almost lost our father life because of him, because he does not know what he was doing

I had a wonderful overall experience here at Maimo, despite the initial interaction with Omar in admitting, who was a complete douche.
I was in for an ambulatory surgery, arrived at 11:15 (early for my 12noon appointment) and we ready to be prepped by 1pm.
Everyone came by to see me: The OR Nurse, the Anesthesiologist, my surgeon of course, and my 2pm I was on my way. Everything went well and I was in recovery around 4pm, where I stayed until a bit after 10. It was a VERY busy day and beds were at a premium, but I finally got one and was wheeled up. My wife was allowed to stay with me for the night, and slept (if that is the word for her dozing on and off) in the chair beside me.
I was in 8West, room 815, and had Lorelei as my nurse overnight, with Lisa as my Tech. They were amazing, supportive and caring. I couldn't have asked for better care. Shift change brought Fabio as my nurse and Verna as my Tech. Once again, they were wonderful and attentive.
If I could of give 0 stars ,I would this the dirtiest ugly hospital with un professional nurses. 1. The nurse decided to draw blood without gloves on. 2. They throw alcohol swabs on the floor. 3. The bathroom in the room no light you could break your head. 4. Personal is the rudest ,they should work for the zoo not with sick patients. 5. They steal so much money from the insurance , could of at least make it better. This Hospital is from the Ghetto!!!!!!!! Stay away from this hospital people!!!!!!!
The efficiency of the emergency room is too low. It takes more than three hours to lose a blood. It takes more than 10 hours for the doctor to really faint.
I personally know two people who died from Hospital-acquired infections in this place.
I have two friends who work in this facility who are constantly sexually harassed by other staff. I've even witnessed a visitor being harassed by staff in the elevator.
Areas are constantly understaffed. Leading to frustration and fatigue among workers. The Emergency Room is a prime example of this.
Patient care is hardly an afterthought.
Patients are pushed out after a set time, healthy or not.
Surgeons will take on more cases in a day than they can handle, leading to botched surgeries. Sometimes the surgeon won't even be present in the room. These malpractice incidents are then swept under the rug.
Nurses are verbally abused constantly by Doctors, Patients, and Family members. Many times this is public.
Maimonides claims they're non-profit but the hospital is run like a cut-throat business at the expense of your loved ones. I write this for anyone who has no choice but to bring your family to this place.
Worst hospital ever! Over 24 hours in the ER. No doctors nor nurses are ever seen. Horrible conditions. They could care less about their patients! It was absolutely the worst experience in my life! Nobody gives you the time of day and it is so very unprofessional! I will never go back here.
Brought my mother to the ER, was very happy with the treatment we received, Rozanna the ER nurse was great, the doctors were great. Definitely recommend this hospital
I placed my chemotherapy port in the radiation department and it was the worst experience i have ever seen and it's the worst hospital i have ever seen the process should take 45 minutes without anathesia only under sedition it took from their unqualified nurse practitioner Sofia 3 hours and she asked help in the middle of procedure from onther nurse without presence of any supervisor doctor . Over this no body in the hospital care about my complaint if i can give it 0 i would
I had my daughter there in 2008. I annually get a mammogram at the breast imaging center. I would say overall the hospital is doing well but I do see areas where improvement is needed. I went to the emergency room in 2010 it was not the best and not the worst. I requested a copy of my medical file in 2013 I am still waiting on it. I hope the hospital gets better. I see all these experiences that were not favorable and it saddens me I know there are few hospital in the immediate area.
With cringeworthy sharp piercing pains, the nurse who checked me into the e.r reviewed me and sat me in the waiting area for the next nurse, not before writing the most mediocre description of my condition. Having to wait two hours and not even been seen by the registered nurse i walk out pain and all and make my way to Lutheran medical center. Maimonides neglected me as a patient and avoided eye contact until i made their job easier by walking out. Disgusting.
When my daughter was six years old she ran and split up a very deep gash on her fore head. A pedestrian surgeon stitch her up. Older now tell me what you think
I will never go to this place again!!! If I can give this place a 0 star I will definitely give them it. Don t check in and leave because they will charge you a arm and a leg. The service was really horrible and really disrespectful. I went in there for food poisoning and by that time I was there, all they did within 2 hour was check my temperature and pulse.... after the long wait I left and they charge me $450..... this is ridiculous!!!!!
Perfect place to get your loved ones locked up in "depression" ward. 10/10 would recommend if you want a family member forcefully admitted here and kept under surveillance , drugged, and brainwashed into believing whatever the doctors tell them.
Let me start off with the fact that this hospital is nothing but liars. I came in a few months ago with a numb right arm. I have Wolff Parkinsons White, but the hospital should know as this was the same hospital who diagnosed me. I rushed out because it was an emwrgemer and didn't have my insurance but thought it'd bw okay because it's on file. i was taken to pediatrics even though I'm 19. All I had done was a blood test and my vitals. After that, I was told that I didn't have Wolff Parkinsons White. I was given asprin was yold to be on my way. Even during my diagnosis, I spent a whole day taking tests that always came back indecisive. If you ever have a heart attack, have it somewhere else because all these guys care about is cash over care.
Thank you to the team of cardiologists, surgeons and other doctors who cared for me during my recent valvular procedure. A special thank you also to all the nurses and other staff in the ICU who watched me and cared for me all night long. To every nurse, nursing person, rehabilitative professional I respect you and thank you as you have given me my life back.
I went to the ER in the middle of the night.. The treatment I received from the front desk, to those who triaged, technician and the nurse were excellent!! A very professional staff! Thank You!
The dirtiest hospital that we have been to. My father stayed at 2 other hospitals in Brooklyn. Maimonides is the dirtiest of them all. I do not know where to start. The worse part was the toilet, it was extremely dirty, I could see the dirt inside it. Also there were some used towels on the floor. I had to call their clients service line so they could come and clean the toilet, but when the cleaning person came, he could not clean it because it was so dirty to be cleaned with normal cleaners, he had to go and bring some bleach. I am not going to talk about the rude nurses and the bad service, I can tolerate that but that grade of dirtiness is going to make even the people who come to visit their loved ones sick. After my father was discharged we received a survey from the hospital, I wrote every thing down on that survey, also I sent some pictures as a proof at that time, I wrote down my name and cell phone but they never contacted me for further details.
Worst hospital ever, my 3 year old waited hours just to have her vitals taken and several hours for a doctor to check her. Waiting area is unbelievably small and all the patients are crammed up together while the nurses are all over the place. There seems to be no stability at all.
State-of-the-art facilities and rigorously trained staff. The premises are in good shape considering the hospital's high volume of patients. It is worth observing, however, that the lobby's staff are unsupervised and therefore take to holding loud, lengthy conversations across the room to one another, which proves stressful to prospective patients or relatives anxiously awaiting in-taken patients.
I was there to be treated for a mental illness and they were excellent. They seemed genuine and I was extremely comfortable. Most of the bad reviews are because they take a long time. I've been here for minor things and it has taken a while, but if it's something severe, you're in right away!
I had great experience at this hospital after a long stay of 2 months before having my daughter at 34 weeks from complicated, high risks pregnancy. The fetal maternal team was confident and made sure to keep my spirit up with some daily encouraging words. One doctor told me "I dont worry, you dont worry" you will be just fine! My GYN there at that time Dr Rose Antilus,I can never repay you for your patience, your compassion and concerns throughout this journey. Dr Sandra Mccalla, Dr Nelli Fisher and many other staff from the Nostrand clinic and the fetal maternal clinic on Fort Hamilton that I dont get to mention who participated one way or another for me to have my beautiful daughter today after 6 loses. All I can say Maimonides made my success story a reality and I am forever grateful.
My experience at Maimonides was terrible. I was told to come back on a Tuesday when I came in through the ER on Monday. One of the workers then said that I never had an appointment and that I was never registered , BUT I was told to come back tomorrow at 2:30 . My good ppl who are reading this... is that NOT CALLED AN APPOINTMENT? They refused to give me a letter saying I was there. Trash hospital.
This hospital would be so nice if everyone wasn t busy making themselves scarce, you never see a doctor, and the PAs take so long to give information on an ill relative that they can perish 3 times before your updated with the goals of your love one. Although the emergency room is swift if you come in an ambulance or your an elderly.
Terrible! My father came to the ER Friday night and stayed there for almost 3 full days and is still not in a room. Unacceptable and no one can help. No one!
I choose to come to Maimonides because is one of the best medical centers of the nation. Here I'm treated as a human being not jus a patient and I can see that they try very hard to give the care I need. I am trusting all these people with my life.
Worst hospital ever,my dad had cancer and phemonia,Everything i wrote i know its the truth ,After being admitted to this hospital, they took took two extray and the Wednesday ,I was feeling happy my dad going home ,this old chinese guy say my dad will have everything at come to take care of him, like oxygen hospital bed and a visiting nurse and then with an hour and a half they took the second extray ,then one indian doctor say she will visit us name rimi, ,their taking us across to another place and how it's more comfortable for my daddy and they will not stick needles into my daddy all the time .They inform me and my mom ,that they have no more space over here,The old Chinese guy did say , he will setup a hospice at home, but me and my mom had no idea what a hospice is. When they decide to take my dad to the other place ,someone told us ,its a good place ,but did not inform us,this place is call hospice, besides we did not know what hospice mean.I look into my dad eyes and he look so worried.I had told the old chinese guy my father wish to pass away at home.He did not care.No doctor explain about what this place is truly about. At maI monies they tell us we will have a doctor 24 hours and I keep looking for the indian doctor ,they had mention there was another they told me she might visit too , but I met her on Thursday her name begin with B.she say she the doctor, how can a person notice any doctor at such an isolated place. On the third day , my dad could not breath ,the doctor asking me what to use ,she the doctor why ask me. she should have decided .dad could not breath for many minutes, what make it worst when the breathing mask done .She left and never return to see what happen to my dad.I watch for many minutes as he try to breath and then he pass away.If it had zero I put zero .My daddy wish was to pass away at home and we did not get to carry it out,I told them his wish they put him in this isolated room, like he is an animal.one doctor say she will visit and three day pass she never came by ,An indian doctor they lie and I hope god judge them .Not a moment go by thinking I should have not listen to them. Not judging all doctors ,but most of the doctors don't care about any patients ,they just care about money.
This has been a wonderful experience here! The medical assistants are gentle and the doctors were really efficient. I totally recommend this place to you guys :)
The doctor is not responsible. The doctor is not good at the technology. The attitude is very poor! My son is sick and goes inside! It is getting worse! When I entered, there was no pneumonia and I got pneumonia and lung water. I haven t gotten better for a week now! Garbage doctor garbage hospital! Don't go to this hospital.
If I could give 0 stars I 100% would. I had a 104.7 fever (which is extremely high) not only was I sitting in the er for 2 hours, but they gave me this crazy nurse that was weird, rude and seemed a little off. The nurse was taking my blood samples but kept the band on and didnt take it off even when my fingers became blue. The nurse was extremely aggressive with doing simple tasks like swabs for mouth and nose. The nurse would literally shove it up my nose and down my throat for s long period of time to get samples. And he kept making awkward conversations. Look if you need to go to a hospital. NEVER GO TO THIS ONE IT SUCKS
I dislocated my finger late Tuesday night on July 16. My husband took me to Maimonides which is close to us. I was in obvious pain and distress upon entering and they got me to the triage nurse very quickly. They processed me, had me in the back and seeing a doctor all within 15 minutes. He numbed my hand (ouch) and was able to get it partially relocated but admitted that I needed to see an orthopedist the next day. They gave me motrin and offered stronger medication if I needed which I declined as I was not in as much pain. My orthopedist was able to get it completely back in 2 days later and I am well on my way to recovery. I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff and Dr Michael T who worked on me. They were very caring and concerned. Thanks Maimonides.
When a family member became ill, I took her to this hospital. Bad Idea. Later found out that this is the WORST hospital in the world. The hospital staff forced admitted her, injected her with drugs that neither she nor her family knows about or approved of, and denied her family the right to see her. And when I want to get answers, the doctors gave me the cold shoulder and a high and almighty attitude. If you care about your loved ones, then do NOT bring them to this hospital. Maimonides treats their patients as PRISONERS whom they can use to rip off! Refer it only to your worst enemies.
I wish the had a option of a 0 star. Service is awful I really don't know how someone can bring a loved one. For stupid tylenol you have to wait 3 hours. The doctors are real butchers.
My son stayed there for 10 days on the pediatric floor. The experience was wonderful. All the staff (nurses, PCT, and doctors) was helpful and informative. Everyone was supportive of my son's stay.
Filthy establishment. There was a mouse running around freely in the ER! A mouse, rodent, critter how ever you want to name it was with no shame running around in patient care. How absolutely unsanitary. When I pointed it out the Nurse and Security guard laughed it off. Are you not concerned? Is this a normal occurance? I would never step foot nor let anyone I care for step foot into this establishment as long as I am still living. Totally Unacceptable
Just delivered our baby here. Can't say enough about the nurses in the infant delivery unit! The nurses went out of their way to welcome us and our little kylie to the world :)
Absolutely not organized and unprofessional managment. Nurse just do not care. Poor understanding of their duties. If you want to due go there ... Need to stay next to the nurse station and tell them what they supposed to do... otherwise no attention. You have to ask million times in order to get simple procedures.
The doctors, nurses and staff are proffesional to a certain degree but they get their job done well. The cleanliness of this hospital is ok. It is clean were it is most needed (Operating rooms, patient rooms, bathrooms, etc) however the waiting rooms and emergency rooms are dirty, they have trash on the floor and dirt in some places.
Overall: I think its ok for the 3 experiences I've had here. There are worse hospitals and definitely better ones.
Emergenci area in the Brooklyn ; Located on 48 th street between tenths Avenue in Boro Park . Friendly staffs, very personal and individual assistance.Lots of many things. Fast - quick helpful. Wonderful safe life ,experience ,nothing but praise for the staff on facilities, highly recommend this Hospital.
My appointment was at 11 am, a day before the appointment they called me hundred times reminding of my appointment and i am supposed to be there 30 min early. I arrived at the place exactly 30 min early and signed up the papers and waited for the doctor 2 and half hour for the sonogram which lasted just 5 minutes. If doctors are so scarcity pls hire several doctors so patients do not have to wait so long, every year thousands students graduate FROM THE MEDICAL SCHOOLS JUST HIRE SEVERAL OF THEM.
The worst experience i ever had in the ER. My father was feeling bad, but during 3hours even blood test wasn't done. Medical staff was rude. If you care about your health, don't come even close to this hospital.
I did not have a good experience for my Mother at this hospital. Uncaring and inattentive staff. Had to transfer my Mother to Columbia. Would not recommend this hospital.
Very bad service nurse and Doctor take there time of course because they get paid by hour and they don't give a sheet about people! I was there with my baby and had to wait for 2 hour and there were another baby almost dying but doctor wasn't there I think they should hire more people to reduce waiting time for people or they should work instead of walking around doing nothing
It's incredible how dystopian this place is. People screaming in pain in the ER and don't get any help. Nobody ever knows anything. Nurses are nice, but that's as far as it goes. They just tell you what you want to hear and never the truth.
My mom didn't realize she was having a heart attack and they saved her life. (Thank you guys SO MUCH.) When I arrived at the hospital, everyone knew who I was talking about when I said I was looking for her and how to help me find her. I was able to talk to a nurse within a couple of minutes who explained her status, and about 5 other people (doctors, residents, nurses) found me to update me on what had happened. My mom's heart stopped for about 5 minutes and they were able to bring her back 4 times. The team is passionate about what they do and were excited that they'd saved my mom's life, but were also thorough and sensitive when explaining it to me. The ICU team was also excellent and totally on top of everything, they were also willing to explain the monitors and machines to me that my mom was hooked up to, calming my nerves when something started beeping and explaining what it meant, somehow maintaining a sense of humor throughout the entire ordeal to keep things lighthearted and positive. I can't say enough good things about our experience with them. Highly recommended for emergencies, particularly involving cardiac arrest and intensive care. Thanks to these guys, my mom gets a second chance at life.
Horrible!!! my father was neglected picked up 2 infections plus bed sores. And has a cut on the back of his head then try to say it was self inflicted.
Update.. My dad died 2 days after posting this!!! Due to infections from bed sores he got from being in that horrible place!!!!-
Worse hospital in whole new York city .bad service, not clean. In emergency department you gonna wait unlimited time, nobody will contact you till they feel it .
They left me sitting there for over 3 hours with a painful IV that had dried up and was serving no purpose. They ran no tears other than a urine test... for chest pain. They charged $2017 for the ER services, $762.00 for theraputic services (therapy?), $17 for pharmacy (they wrote a perscription, they did not fill it) and $148. For the painful IV. They are rude and disrespectful of the public, I'm addition to being frauds. Their billing department isn't any better, and the gold times are extensive. Total failure.
6/19/18 : do not go to their dental clinic either. Scheduled an appointment for oral surgery and they could not perform due to not having the utensils necessary...they're being ordered. Thanks for letting me know before I cancelled all of my appointments and spent money on transportation.
This hospital radiology dept is horrendous the worst service ever, every time I call and get someone different and so far have not spoken to one person that seemed professional, willing to help or has a natural gift to speak with another human. I wonder what goes on there that their whole staff is miserable. It feels like I am calling and they are doing me a favor! horrible would never recommend them! I have been to the ER 2 times and that experience was fine. The negative review is just for the radiology dept!
Worst pediatric emergency staff. Was admitted and took over 1.5 hours to be seen...then from when they told us we were discharged until they came with our paperwork was more then 2 hours....really disappointed in the staff - very unprofessional and slow!
The worst hospital! I waited in emergency room for 8 hours with broken wrist, @ 2am came orthopaedist & for more than an hour tried to fix my broken wrist & then put the cast, which was wrong (to loose).I had sergery , im still not warking 3 month ready.Keep way from this hospital.
Just came back from ER. I came in with chest pain squeezing feeling. Caught and X-Ray from outside. They repeated X-Ray drew blood. I was told I have viral pneumonia. I have history of asthma and COPD, PE and low immune system. Pulmonologist was not consulted my own X-Ray suggested CT I was told that it's Friday no point of doing it it would not be read till Monday anyway. Don't we live in internet age ? I was send home the only thing accomplished I was exposed to more germs. No antibiotic to help me fight it ok I was told because it's viral. So why not give me anti viral medication and something to bring up the goog that er Dr. mentioned. Not to mention aft e r shift changed the new Dr. who looked 19 canceled the orders made by previous Dr. Well even simple X-Ray not finally read from hours 4:30 pm till 1am dismissal. Polite staff new and young and completely inexperienced.
This is unbelievable.I wouldn't even gave this place a one star rating. Worst customer service rude workers and long waiting for EMERGENCY SERVICES.Like do you not understand the definition of Emergency? Been here since 12 PM and it's already 2:36 PM.I wish no others would come to this medical center because it is so ridiculous. Waiting for an orthodontist for 2 in a half hour for Emergency service.NEVER IN MY LIFE WOULD I COME BACK TO THIS NASTY RUDE EMERGENCY SERVICE. WASTE OF MY TIME !!!!!
I used to work in Maimonides and was asking for my W2 form for 2019.The lady at the payroll department was extremely rude. She let me hold on the phone for 30 mins. This is how they behave with the old employees I dont know how they deal with the customer.
Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that took care of me while I was at maimonides Hospital Medical Center. I was very sick and they took the time to take care of me and I'm greatly appreciate of they services thank you maimonides .. you arethe are the best
I really don t have much complain as far as the service is concerned when it comes to this hospital. I have been well taken care of so far. And the nurses are great.
There are friendly staff but there are also staff that seem like they do not want to work. Rooms are small and crowded and there is little privacy when there are two patients staying in one room. There are patients who are being treated in the hallways and that is unacceptable.
To actually get treated early is extremely lucky because there are patients who wait hours to get treated. Knowing someone who needed to get appendix taken out, they had to wait approximately 10 hours in pain and then was sent home immediately after surgery even though it was covered by health insurance.
The quality of this hospital has drastically plummeted over time and it gets worse.
hate it hate it hate it. orthopedics is worst department there. dr. goodman is NOT a good man, he makes fun of his patients behind their back, dr, edelstein is too busy scheduling patients for every 5 minutes so he is always rushing you. dr. edelstein's secretary pat, an elderly woman with really yellow teeth is not helpful at all.she flirts with patients all the time not realizing other patients are watching. the wait time is 2-3 hours which is not acceptable. very nasty staff and doctors, dr. shweka looks at you like he is wants to rape you. NEVER USE MAIMONIDES FOR YOUR ORTHOPEDIC NEEDS. Its a CIRCUS and only monkeys performing there.
If you just want to sit around for hours on end, come here. The ER should be banned. They herd you in here like cattle and leave you to rot. You are better off anywhere else. Never ever again!!!
I have never seen a hospital with such a poor management. The patient can't find a doctor to understand the condition. The ultrasound will not be discharged from the morning until the evening. The doctor on duty will also lose your temper and have a cardiovascular blockage in the ward. It took five hours to get effective treatment. The doctor is indifferent to the patient and will only shirk responsibility.
