I have actually been here twice Once in the ER it took forever to be seen but what do you expect in general all of the ER's are like that you have to wait for hours to been seen especially if it's a minor thing.
The second time was in the labor and delivery section. I had an easy delivery from the time I got there I didn't wait long to be put in a room by myself waiting for my delivery. The room they gave me was nice and clean, quiet, a little cold but as a first time mother I had no idea what to take! but the doctor and nurses did check on me a lot, made sure I was okay and checked how far along I was. The anesthesiologist was nice and kept me calm. Right when I delivered the nurses and doctor were nice, stayed 3 days in total they were very nice, always had someone going around to make sure everyone was okay and had a lot of instructions and handouts for first time mothers. Overall for my first time I had a great experience here.
Nurses on the 8th floor are disrespectful towards family members of the patient and treat patients with no empathy. It shows how much importance the money is for them. Also, securities are unfriendly. It is not a cultural diverse hospital maybe that's why we were treated a certain way. First impression was unsatisfactory.
they send us only birthday certificate
and not give nothing not footprint nothing
they don't care about you and not try to make you happy or just say congratulations
i was in emergency 6+ hours and nobody not ask us what happens. wait please wait please we was with infant baby.
I recently gave Birth at this hospital a few weeks ago, I must say leading up to labor and delivery I was skeptical amd scared after reading all the bad reviews and the few positive ones. Honestly from I walked through those doors on the day of my scheduled delivery I only can rave from the registration office, to the triage , surgery, recovery and finally my assigned room. I personally want to thank the team and shout them out because they were awesome. Dr. Alex Chan my Surgeon hilarious a sweetheart and professional and my scar is flawless ,Dr.Jones my Anesthesiologist gave his word and lived up to it God blessed those hands, assisting Surgeon Ms.Morano and all staff during and afrer delivery a big Thank You Geremiah is here and doing well because of you....my stay felt like mini hotel vacay .
If your experience is as great as mines I encourage you to post a review foe those who might have been like me in the beginning...
We have to wait 2 hours and doctor didn t come.they give three different reasons why the doctor didn t come and front desk is not helpful. The place is overcrowded and for children this place is not good because without a phone or tablet you will die from boredom
Dirty Run down place someone please open a investigation where the government funds disappear
Saved my mother and uncles life my mother had a valve replacement my uncle a triple by pass the nurses in the heart unit are more then great and so sweet. Dr Crooke is a wonderful man and recommend him for any heart scares the hospital I have nothing but great things to say and wanna thank them for giving both my mother and uncle a second chance at life thank you so much Maimonides. Also the cardio list my mother goes to across the street Dr Kerstein is a dream waiting hours are a little rough but well worth the wait!!
Now, i may not know alot about medicine and stuff. My grandpa passed away in this hospital due to cancer in his intestine or colon, I dont remember which it was. I wouldn't say the staffs were bad, but all they did was treat the symptoms my grandpa had. There was no chemo whatsoever, or no surgery for the cancer. (That's from my own experiences when I came). Based on the reviews, I can safely say this hospital is absolutely GARBAGE. My grandpa had severe diarrhea, Celiac disease, malnutrition, and a bunch of other diseases. All they did was treat the symptoms. Again, im saying this from an unexperienced guy who has no medical experiences.
This is extremely stressful experience to have cesarean section or version procedures done here. They always run out of rooms, neglected your needs and postpone you to the last possible time because it's not "urgent". And all of this after you scheduled the appointment week before exact procedure. I am sitting here for 5 hours and they didn't call me yet.
Went there for ambulatory surgery on 9/26/18 and was greeted by the clerk as number 20 never addressed me by my name. He never introduced himself or wore a visible name tag. Was very distance from his job. Totally had
No interest in his work. Should have a job were he wouldn't have to deal with people. Very disappointed.
i was there for 5 hours even though it was the middle of the night the place is so disorganized the er doctors just kept on going from one patient then leaving to another then coming back.
My grandmother was admitted to the surgical floor (8th floor) for appendicitis and stayed there for about 10 days. I am giving this hospital 2 stars rather than 1 because the team of doctors, especially the resident doctor whom I was in contact with during those 10 days, was very informative; they promptly addressed our concerns and answered our questions. However, the lack of care coordination among the care team, including doctors, nurses, and the case manager makes the overall hospital experience extremely unpleasant. My grandmother was discharged home yesterday without the necessary saline solution to flush her IR drainage. We were told that the visiting nurse would come to our house to take care of everything on the day she was discharged, but I received a call the next morning from the home aide service that the visiting nurse would not come until 2 days later and that at least one family member should have been taught by the hospital nurse on how to use normal saline to flush the drain to avoid a clogged drain. When I went to Maimonides Hospital's surgical floor to pick up saline solution as instructed, the case manager was extremely rude to me and told me that I should have purchased these from the pharmacy myself using prescription from the doctor. When I told her that there is no prescription for saline, she dismissed me. She also insisted that I must have been taught how to flush the drain and basically accused me of lying when I told her that nobody taught me the previous day. When I asked if I could bring my grandmother who was waiting on the first floor lobby to come up to the 8th floor so that one of the nurses could show me how to do it. She blatantly responded, "NO". After speaking with the resident doctor, I was informed that he never puts in prescription orders for saline for patients who go home with IR drains because it's not a standard practice (he had expected that the visiting nurse would carry with them the necessary supplies). While I am extremely disappointed at how disrespectful some staff members are, I am more concerned by the lack of proper care coordination they have demonstrated.
I read a post on Facebook where a lady was in labor and she was plus 1 and they made her walk with a baby coming out and didn't allow her to push and the baby died how is this place still around with such negligent midwives and nurses #justiceforvylette
The service here is minus 5 stars. Doctors in the ER are trainees and make stupid mistakes. One would expect to the most competent doctors in to the ER to treat patients where every moment is crucial. They put trainees in the ER. They'll order unnecessary tests but not tests that are most crucial to rule out the unknown. They should change the hospital name to any other name. They sure don't act like maimomnides
Someone cracked my head open with a Pyrex pot back in the day, a doctor here put 15 staples in my head, when it came time to remove them, the doctor left one in. Not recommended.
THE DOCTOR WHO TAKE CARE OF ME HERE, HE WAS REALLY GREAT. GENTLE.
I had cyst removal from my ovary about 2 years ago. It's clean, everybody were friendly and helpful. The only complain i have is about recovery room. Nurses were so laud i can't even explain! I woke up after surgery and the woman who was watching me said "So you are awake. Are you ready to go home?". Excuse me! I have no idea what's going on, i can't even use restroom without help and you wanna send me home? I said no and i said that i'm cold and i'm not going anywhere. She gave me that look like How dare are you!? Nut i couldn't even sleep because it was so loud! They didn't even care about people who just had their surgeries!
Nice nurses and it didn't take long to be seen for an appt.
This an awful hospital my mom dialysis center told us to go there right away last night we were the over crowded e.r she an cardic and kidney patient no tests were done or medicines given. Thank God I carry all here meds. The e.r doc don't give medicines. I had to speak to patient relations three times before she got dialysis before went were discharged. I never leave my mom at the hospital unattended these people don't care but wait for the bill
Years ago it was the best hospital in the area... Now it is a joke... dactors are clueless... staff is so unprofessional i can't not describe.... I can't wait to see the bill....
if you have a choice stay away!!!
I wish there was an option to give no stars, but lets begin this disgusting experience that my family did not expect from local hospital Coney Island. The amount of frustration and waste of time they gave us is unthinkable. Staff is slow, no one take responsibility, no one cares here how you feel. I wish best of luck to who ever falls a chance to be here. Unbelievable
The doctor and staff are awesome not only to the patient but the family
Emergency room staff at night are the worst! Caribbean nurses have nasty attitudes and ignore your questions. Would not recommend anyone go here during the night.
Emergency services worsest in the world.peoples are keep walking doing nothing. Patient having difficulty to breath. Nobody doing their job . And 4-6 people staying with one patient . Another patient having problems.Nobody care .
The ICU does not follow the protocol for MRSA infection. Anybody can come in and visit whenever they like and visitors are not given gloves gowns or masks to prevent the spread of this dangerous infection. I had a relative who was hospitalized here with MRSA and they didn't take sufficient precautions to protect visitors or other patients. They weren't able to control the infection and we had to transfer the patient to a better hospital after Maimonides spent 2 weeks getting nowhere! Do not use this hospital!
Absolutely the worst administration and mismanagement. Staff is helpful but transport in the hospital is the worst they have a code cleaning the room which means wait hours to get a room. Shameful by overpaid administrators!!!
If I could give this hospital negative stars I would, I gave birth here two years ago after being rushed from the Brooklyn birthing center and my experience was absolutely horrible. The take in area is extremely under staffed and cramp, the nurses act as if your bothering them when you ask questions or need assistance (not all but most mainly the night shift) and depending on the rotating shifts will dictate if your doctor or nurse care enough about your comfort level or treatment. I totally wanted to avoid hospitals at all costs since my first few appts with doctors vs midwives were pretty bad. One doctor on my first visit told me because of how my son was positioned in the first trimester at Brooklyn Hospital, that I wasnt going to make it to full term and should consider an option for terminating the pregnancy . Hence the reason for wanting to deliver my baby in a more welcoming setting, yet I still wound up here, scared into a csection instead of delivering naturally. Thank god I'm leaving Brooklyn (at least crown heights anyway) so I'll have much better options on the island of Manhattan.
Worst Hospital ever !! I went with my child, with a severe coughing. Horrible attention, waited 2 hours just to go to wait to another waiting room, came back home without any solution, I decided to take her to Brooklyn Hospital and really I felt like a human being. In Maimonides, kids are waiting on a chair, the doctor sees and examine them standing up, so one is vomiting, the other one crying with a broken bone, others... you can see a lot of things... The staff is very rude, professionals and administrative clerks, awful, awful. I never write any review, but I had to aware other mothers...
When my father did an xray check at noon today, the medical staff pulled the father's nasal tube very violently, not only hurting my father's throat, but also letting my father reinstall the nasal tube. Endure tremendous pain. Not qualified to get a star at all. I hope my evaluation will make the hospital sympathetic to these patients better.
;; i had to give one star because you cant give anything lower. And even one star is pushing it. I gave birth to my son here last july. The whole labor process was easy for me as i was in labor for 5 minutes then gave birth so no problems for me there. But i required stitches and i was so scared because i didnt want them to mess up and lo and behold guess what they did. THEY MESSED UP. They stitched me up the wrong way and now i have a permanent disfigurement. It is noticable but my partner loves me and doesnt care. I know some people might say its not yhst big of a deal. But it is for me. I told the lady please please dont mess up. She told me not to worry and that it will look normal when it heals. But when it finally healed and i looked down i couldnt help but cry. Also after giving birth to my son, He had to stay in the NICU for about a month. I honestly seriously cannot say NOT ONE good thing about it. The nurses were horrible people. They didnt care about the babies. Everytime i came in to see my son they were all screaming at the top of their lungs. Theres 4 babies and 4 nurses. Like they really cant stop them from crying. They have 0 compassion. The worst thing that happened was them not changing diapers. Everytime i came in his diaper was dirty. It was such a sad sight to see because i couldn't stay there 24/7 to care for him. He developed such a terrible diaper rash that his little bottom was bleeding and pardon me but his butthole was bleeding too because they never changed diapers, and laying in your own filth can cause open sores. It literally broke my heart and i cried when i saw it. Because you trust these random strangers to take care of your newborn and they completely ignored them. Disgusting absolutely disgusting. It literally broke my heart every time i came there because i knew he was laying in his own filth underfed and completely alone with no contact whatsoever. I even told the head nurse and STILL absolutely nothing was done. I even got into it with some of the nurses there afterwards because i just couldn't believe my eyes. It was sickening. Theyre all sitting at their little table eating and laughing on their phones. I strongly suggest that if you do give birth here to watch your own baby. And if you do have to leave it to the care of the nurses then watch those nurses like a hawk. I will never forget what happened to my son. Also another thing i really do want to add. This hospital is racist or whatever is the word for preffering one religion over another. If you are jewish, they will see you quicker and treat you like a king/queen. Its really sad. I know it may be in a jewish neighborhood but you cant just cater to jewish people. Its so wrong, it really is disgusting. I have no words.
If you have no insurance, a not-even-24-hour hospital stay can cost you quite alot. Imagine saving up money for years and then getting a 14 THOUSAND dollar bill. That's basically what my parents have to deal with now because my parents didnt want to get robbed by insurance companies since they make "too much money" .
Very good hospital i think its the best hospital in brooklyn the staff there r very nice and calmed they give u there time and attend u very good once when i was there very good hostiptal and the staff make it a much better hospital in brooklyn
THIS HOSPITAL IS AMAZING!!!
A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO THE ENTIRE STAFF FROM "K2"
DR BORGEN , DR MALIK , DR FRANKEL AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST DR NORBIT MOSKOVITZ YOU GUYS ARE ANGELS FROM HEAVEN
My daughter went through the ER and was in Maternity for a few days. The nurses were wonderful, the staff caring and I thought the entire experience was excellent.
Wonderful experience.....nothing but praise for the staff on facilities....highly recommend this Hospital
One star... is pushing it because I had no choice. The reputation of this place will have you thinking that you will be taken care of...BUT I've seen first hand that if it's not Labor and Delivery then this place sucks. They milk your insurance company for as much money as they can. I don't have to have a medical degree to diagnose B.S.. You sit in a hospital for a week and no progress over something simple. Each doctor over rules another doctor and everyone has an opinion but no one can give you a clear diagnosis. Filling you with IVs and antibiotics you don't need instead of finding the problem. They will squeeze every penny out of your insurance and leave you with no answers just excuses for ex:
" We were busy with other patients" as if you're Nobody".
I would like to know if there are in Argentina here? In Ba As?
Completely awful. Was threatened by a nurse to be put to sleep once because I felt uncomfortable taking off my clothes for a simple stomach checkup. Was also there all night, never again. The second time same issue with the clothes. Absolutely horrible. Was so traumatized the first time that I'm not even sure why I didn't leave both times.
NOT A GOOD PLACE TO TAKE A LOVED ONE
We brought my mother in law to this hospital because it was closest to her home and it was an emergency.
The emergency room was on the ball, highly trained .That's the one star. They are all responsive and helpful. Thank you all!!
That stopped when they admitted her to the second floor. One nurse, no PAs, no one to give us a progress report. We waited for many hours to see the doctor to days laste but to finally find out, from the one nurse who was on break and we had to get her out of the lounge, that the doctor had gone into a procedure... So no news in her condition. We are not even sure if a doctor's actually saw her. And if you complain, you get a cold shoulder.
The ICING ON THE CAKE, The prior day I had to sit in a little waiting area by the emergency room and ran out because there was a huge cockroach staring at me. I moved the chair to scare it and a bunch more little ones jumped out. I was disgusted. (I DID TAKE A VIDEO.) I notified floor staff who told me patients bring them in...
We asked to transfer her to NYP in Manhattan and they would not allow it because of her condition... Which we have to clue what it is, since we have not spoken to a doctor!!!
THE BUSIEST TWO ROOMS IN THIS HOSPITAL ARE THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND THE NURSE'S LOUNGE.
This hospital sucks, the only thing that was decent about this hospital was the beef stew
The stave is good but the hospitals no privacy the emergency room is very low people on it are out and everyone see them and they get treated in where the at waiting time 7 hours and the emergency room very nasty
The friend suddenly had a stomachache and went to the hospital for examination. I did ct to find appendicitis. Wait until the surgery is done ( `)
The doctors and nurses have a good attitude and are not as bad as the comment area. The security attitude at the door is not good, and I don t care about people. I hope that all patients who come to the hospital will recover soon and will not return (* *) .
This hospital, failed to properly diagnose my mom, with lung cancer. Wasred her time and money. She developed bed sores as a result of horrid care. It wasn't till she was transferred to Lutheran Medical Center, that she received much better, & much needed care.
The ER is at the heart of Brooklyn's residential neighborhood. The staff are nice, however, the wait time can be long, especially during nights or weekends. The waiting room also fills up quickly.
Location is definitely convenient, especially for small everyday emergencies.
Every single step in my grandmother's care we had to fight for. The nurses, doctors, and nursing assistants were really lacking in communication, skills, and care. One nurse Christy in particular on the 7th floor med surge was horrendous. She yelled at me when I told her my grandmother's NG tube was coming out and I asked her to please fix it. She told me my grandmother wasn't in pain (my grandmother was nonverbal already but moaning in pain) and didn't want to give her pain meds (she had stage 4 cancer). I was constantly calling and worried about my grandmother while she was there. It's an awful place especially if you're alone or don't know anything medical.
This is a zero star. poor quality hospital very few staff are are friendly and courteous. people speak great about this place and it's the first and last time I will come to this hospital. The emergency room need to get more organized. There was so chairs for the family members. I had to take one of the chairs from the workers to get my grandmother a chair. One of the PCT name Merlinda Gordon first name might be spelled differently. Was very rude came my grandma does understand English and she came with a rude tone and told her to get off the chair that that's not for her to sit if she fall she will end up sueing the hospital. Then, I proceed to tell her to get her a chair she said no that's not my job if she goes to another hospital emergency room she will have to find her own chair. She came back and with hand movement told her to get off the chair. I told her her she is very rude and uneducated. I went back to her and ask her to give me her name she proceeded to tell me y I want her name for in a very ghetto way. I nicely told her I want you name. She then call another nurse so I can go. The other nurse ask me what happened I told her that she has a very bad attitude. After, she disappeared . I went to the waiting room the security officer is giving everyone a rude eye speaking very bad to people. I also saw some guys dressed in black take a patient phone from him and deleted so videos because the guy was recording them and tell him not to do that. Seem like almost very one have an attitude. the doctor and nurses are very nice. But that still doesn't change the way I feel. It's too much negative experience I saw and with what I experienced. Feel like employees here arent held accountable for there behaviours and I feel like when you come to work here with an amazing attitude after a while the attitude get contagious.
Overall, the staff were courteous and helpful. I called in to the Radiology department to ask about retrieving my grandmother's MRI report/images...the staff member who picked up (Raymond) addressed my concerns and instructed me on how to retrieve them.
For me it was the best experience ever I transferred from north central hospital to there and didn't regret it at all, the staff there is kind, loving, caring, passionate about their work and giving u enough information before and while caring for u. I delivered my daughter there also had prenatal at their clinic it was WOW they guided and coached me through it I felt like family and not just a patient. A huge thank you to Nurses; Curry, Jennifer Hall, Nicole, Branch and Victoria awesome job ladies thanks for taking such great care of me
Unprofessional is an understatement. Neglected patient. Left in a room as a patient without any calls or check ups. Family members not contacted. Staff is rude. Coney Island Hospital partner? More like left to die. Suing for medical malpractice shortly. Avoid this death trap!
We love this hospital! Thanks for all that you do for Brooklyn!

Super crowded and understaffed ER. The nurses aides are over worked and rude. Sometimes when they're very crowded they will literally crowd the beds next to each other which is kind of ridiculous, but its not like they can turn people away.
As a patient in cardic care I called for the patient advocate or rep name Gayle. Gayle told the nurse she will not come to the unit to address my issue. Afterward the remaining staff on unit began to avoid me
Went to the ER with a piece of metal in my eye. Was in and out in under a hour and the Doctors and nurses were amazing. Best hospital experience in my life!
This is my first and will be my last here. Even after waiting hours, if you dare asking them something , they are like "what in the moon are you talking about ??? Waiting for hours, and topping it off with that attitude , i think there is plenty of reasons not to come back here anymore. Just call them try to make an appointment, and whoever you will talk to will give you the impression of what type of "human" i am talking about.
Never use this hospital. You will just sit and wait the service is the worst very very bad
They have nurse working don't understand anything always u asked questions they like rude some time and would reply I don't know or u have to wait 4 other nurse or I wasn't here i will check with doctors, and never returned after 2 3 hours, when asked again they become angry iv, never worked properly, I meant they behavior is rude towards family members when asked questions
Every time I come here my son gets seen quickly and the service is always thorough. Most importantly the staff, especiallly the doctors and nurses, are so pleasant. Its like they drank Happy Juice. I love this hosptial! Went to Methodist once because the EMS wouldn't take me to Maimonides and the experience was horrible. I highly recommend Maimonides Medical Center.
Maimonides is my local hospital and never cheated me. My payment plans have been reasonable. I just have to ask.
Be aware of unprofessional staff, not all of them. Some nurses are really good and professional, but there are some doctors and nurses unprofessional and rude. Be aware of them.
I had a surprise c-section on July 4th. The nurses and doctors were incredibly kind, accommodating and caring. Even though I was disappointed in needing the cesarean, the experience with the staff turned a negative into a positive. A special thanks to Nurse Judy who took her time to help my babygirl latch on to breastfeed.
I walked into the ER holding my chest and complaining of pain. The receptionists barely regarded me and asked for my ID. I have a history of serious heart issues and was very visibly in pain. This was my first time in this hospital and will definitely be my last. Extremely difficult for me to change positions and walk due to pain but was never offered a wheelchair. I felt close to blacking out.
Next taken to triage and seating in a waiting area for 5 hours (not exaggerating) holding my chest feeling like my heart was beating out of It.
This place was like the land of misfit toys, overflowing with patients. Overcrowded hellhole looked like the most pitiful meat-market imaginable. I considered leaving several times but I was in too much pain and was worried to chance it bc of distance. I should've taken the hour long Uber ride bc I ended up waiting the extra 3 hours. I had been to St. Francis hospital very recently too. The attention and care I received there was so polar opposite that it's hard to believe this place is operating.
Do not come here. You've been warned.
My wife gave birth there this week and the delivery section on the 1st floor was amazing nurses went out their way to comfort and care but know this the second the baby is born and your transferred to the 3rd floor all that is over. Good luck getting a nurse to check on you. You might as well go home. Horrible service after. It's a shame the nurses on the 1st floor at the birthing and pre labor are amazing and work so hard just so the lazy ones upstairs ruin it all my next baby hands down will be at a different hospital..
Sitting with an infant who has 102 fever for 2,5 hours, fever doesn't go away even after they have her Tylenol when I asked how long we will wait more he told me that my baby is still breathing which is ok and that's why we have to wait that there are more kids with worst raspirathory problems and I have to give them a time ... I'm shocked never go here with the babies....they r not people...I don't know why they still exist ..
Please don t come here if u love the one u sand to the hospital
I had my son merely three years ago. It recently dawned on me that perhaps I should leave a review about Maimonides Maternity Services as I am now expecting and looking for another hospital. I was a patient at Brooklyn Birthing Center and Maimonides is their "feeder" hospital. I was admitted to Maimonides over the Memorial Day weekend due to low fluids. I had desired a natural birth but my dreams faded once I was informed that I needed an emergency c-section. So, you can imagine how distraught I was and needed some time to process the decision. That did not happen. The operating surgeon gave me attitude as she rushed me while I was saying goodbye to my mother and husband. I had words with her and had to tell her that I am having my first child and cannot deal with stress now. I understand that when dealing with a surgery timing is everything but, as a doctor you also have to be sensitive to patients' needs. Before this incident, a number of practicing doctors were in my room periodically to monitor my progress. My consent to have a number of doctors in my room was never requested. My privacy was violated and I felt like I was just a patient, not like someone that was genuinely being cared for. Another concern is about the post-care I received. I could barely understand my Russian nurse. It's important for me to understand what a nurse is communicating because I need to know how to care for myself afterwards. I was disappointed by the bedside manners of the nurses. There was always a conversation outside my room. But mostly, I needed support with how to care for myself after a cesarean surgery and that information was not communicated effectively. Parking is also limited, you do have to walk a distance to your car. Also, men are not allowed to sleep over. It is a women's only hospital and I really wanted my husband to spend the night with our first born son. Keep these things in mind if you are trying to go with Maimonides.
Usually you don't have a choice when it comes to emergency rooms so not sure the point of this review but let me tell you, from start to finish.,If you for some weird reason have an option to go elsewhere, then please do yourself a favor. The ER doctors have no clue what they are doing. The nurses and doctors are all chatting about which credit card has the best mileage benefits while the patients are helplessly staring at the ceilings.
When you get discharged they don't tell you anything about what to look out for etc.
The place is a total zoo and a disaster.
Horrible, horrible , horrible
I made an appointment, receptionist told me they accept my insurance and after the visit I found out that doctor I visited DOES NOT. I end up paying from my pocket. Manager promised to figure out if they can at least give me discount but nobody called me back instead I received letter from collection dept.
And will be paying anyway. Will do my best not to go there again.

If i could give this hospital a zero i would. My grandmother waited 2 days in the ER for a room. Nurses would come by every 3 hrs to check on her. Nurses are rude ass f**k. they have no bed side manner in the 2 days that was there.
I had my first child in this hospital. The service was very good, the doctor, nurse other staffs was very helpful.
Rudest hospital staff I have ever met. I don t understand how this place is still operating under its current management.
After nearly 12 hours in vascular surgery, the incredible, indescribable staff here at #Maimonides Medical Center have done what many doctors thought was impossible! With blood disorders, vascular disease and debilitating allergies stacked against them, William Gonzalez has come out from a long, SUCCESSFUL surgery! A million thanks to Dr. Qinghua Pu, Dr. Robert Rhee, Dr. Michael Shih and countless other doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, technicians and more! Without their talents and persistence and faith, he would not be the same man he is now, or the man that he now has the chance to be! #LifeOverLimb #WhyNotBoth God is good!
Pros: Their ICU, is one of the best. They do have some great doctors, [Dr. LEE,MICHAEL - DIVISION OF UROLOGY] one of the best Drs.
My husband went to Maimonides on a scheduled leg bypass surgery on Tuesday Jan 21,2014. Surgery started at about 10:45-11:00 am. and he did not go to recovery room until 4 pm, until I started asking around at about 3:30 I was not told what was going on, even though the Doctor had called me in the waiting room @2:00pm to tell me that he was finishing up. My husband was brought to the recovery room about 5 pm and did not get to his room until 10 pm. No idea why it took so long as the bed was vacant and ready. Even though my husband has not started to walk, he was told that he should leave the hospital Friday Jan 24, 2014. Hope I never have to go to Maimonides
The ER is an apocalypse episode out of Grey s Anatomy, while simultaneously an endless void of bing-bongs and beep-boops as people wait for answers that never come.
We've been to the maternity and pediatric ER. Doctors at both locations are great. Long lines though due to the flu season and there are beds literally in the hallway but the staff did everything they can to accommodate all the patients. Thumbs up to all the doctors and nurses that cared for my wife and newborn!
Wait time is over an hour and still counting! Have patients sitting on top of each other! Inattentive staff no idea when I ll be seen or if I ll be seen.
My father was take to MMC over packed ER with a heart attack. He waited 36 hours to get a bed on the Cardiology floor.. The first 24 hours in the ER, he was NEVER hooked up to a Cardiac Monitor!!!! They hooked him up the next morning, when they were able to free up a monitor from another patient.. UNREAL!!!! I found the staff, from nurses to physicians rude and disrespectful to patients. STAY AWAY!! Transfer to a Manhattan hospital as soon as they stabilize you!!!
The NICU is a hell place
Tranfer hospitals if your baby needs to be there
