I recently found out the people who sold us the house had represented the property as a 2 bath home when in fact the second bathroom and most of the plumbing work is illegal non-permitted work..
In getting this straightened out we called John Moore to get some reputable quotes for licensed and insured work. Work that also comes with a warranty.
As part of the overall scope of work I needed an Electrical Quote for kitchen and bath work. Joshua was very professional taking time to explain the do s and don ts..And what needs to be brought up to code..Along the way he took pictures to develop a file for the quote with pictures to help tie everything together. He pointed out that the duct work would need to be put in place first before the electrical could be run correctly in both bathrooms saving a serious headache down the road. He advised solar venting for the garage to keep things running smoothly during the Texas-New Mexico Power outages we have during storm season.
I would have no problem recommending Joshua to anyone.

It was rescheduled and they canceled again - same day. 3 weeks later they are calling to confirm my appointment - really?! Get it together and value people s time. Horrible customer service. I scheduled an appointment with John Deere for air condition repair a day in advance. On the day of the service, I contacted them to confirm the appointment. I was told the technician would arrive between 8am and 12pm. Not only did I not receive a call from the technician, he never showed up. Never again!
I called John Moore because they have a special running on TV for a stopped up drain for $29 which runs thru 11/26/14. The guy they sent out started immediately telling me that is was a much bigger problem that just a plugged drain.....I let him know that if that was the case that I would have to do something else....He continued to say well we have financing....Then he wanted to see the outside main trap drain....he then went into his speech that they would have to put the camera down the line to see exactly where the problem really is...then ask how often did I look into main drain outside.....He came across to be very condescending,,,,,let him know that the prices he was quoting was out of my budget once again.....he said well I still have to give you a bid...I said OK, gave h im my email address....told him called John Moore because they had the special of $29 & he then replied he knew nothing about the special.....he then left....VERY DISAPPOINTED W/JOHN MOORE.......by the way I called another plumber after J. Moore left & they cam out & unstopped my drain & were done within 30 min.....& working fine.....!!!! ...I do not know why this is being posted under Cameron Wallace....but it should be posted by me ....Ms. S. I called and had someone come out today. The repair man tried to up sale me on everything besides trying to fix what I initially called for. He even left the water meter cover off. The pricing he quoted was way over priced as well. Several calls to the competitors were 400 cheaper. Very poor customer service when talking to the tech.
Update: another vendor that has great reviews came by today and repaired it for 106 dollars. If you want to over pay John Moore 400 call them. Otherwise I would advise call some one else. Also check out yelp reviews they have a 2.0 rating there.

I had a backed up drain in the kitchen. I called on a Wednesday morning and was very dealt with very professionally. My appt was scheduled from between 11 to 2pm and the plumber Kevin was even 10 mins early!!

Put 800 dollars worth of Freon in my system never checked any where for a leak. Told me another part was bad until he found out he didn t have it available then he told me I didn t need it. Another come came days later after all my Freon was gone and found a leak in seven minutes looking inside one part and found it. Anybody that knew anything about AC would tell customers the best options not just to make a sale. They don t care about doing what s right. The want you $$$$. Find another company before you use John Moore

John Moore charged my sister 369.99 to clean a line that most companies charge less than 75.00 I call to register a complaint and ask them to do something about the charge my sister is a 79 year old widow on a fixed income and cannot afford this kind of charge for such a simple job. To top it off the person I talked to hung up on me . So if you want to be screwed without the benefit of a kiss call John Moore.
I have been a longtime customer of John Moore, but after my recent experience with one of your plumbers I may not be one in the future. I had a small drip of one of my bathroom faucets and called for an estimate. Your technician quoted me the outrageous price of $700.00. I am a Senior Citizen and that would be more than half of my social security check. The little rubber gasket probably costs less than $1.00 to fix this. Luckily I found another licensed plumber, who repaired it within 15 minutes for $100.00. How do you justify the quote of your plumber?

We called John Moore on a Thursday because of an AC problem, although they were able to fix the problem an additional problem came up later that night. The next day we called again and again they arrived promptly, fixed the issue and had us cooling quickly. They even gave us a discount because the problem wasn't completely repaired the first time, not all the fault of John Moore. They wer kind, respectful and caring. Thank you John Moore.

Upstairs ac stopped working and estimate was $9.5k to replace full unit, or do a temporary fix and replace outside fan motor and capacitor for $1,200. Their diagnostics didn't seem right as issue seemed to be just with the inside attic furnace fan unit. I replaced it's motor myself (got part on eBay for $250) . Cold air working again. Not impressed with John Moore.
I always find great value in all services that John Moore provides. Today, Donta did a great job for us. He was thorough, honest, professional, and really provided a high level of customer service.

I was taken aback when i got the repair estimate of about $1,000. That's a big strain for me, but the technician was sympathetic and helped me explore financing options. I ended up paying the entire cost the day of service, but his attitude made the process less painful

I would not recommend John Moore to change my light-bulbs. Having John Moore service is living hell... and I'm a former US Marine infantryman... I'd rather be back in combat than deal with them again.
In August of 2015, I paid John Moore to completely replace my homes old a/c system, replace all duct work, and blow in insulation in the attic. All told, approx $20,000 worth of services.
In the process of removing the old system, John Moore found a rats nest in the attic. The salesmen called me to explain that John Moore wanted to stop the installation until the rats could be removed as they would destroy the new system That made sense to me, and I decided to go with John Moore Pest Control. I purchased their Pest Control option, which guaranteed a year rat free. I also purchased termite prevention, as well as regular home/yard pest spraying. The pest control folks came out, explained that they sealed the home and attic, and they laid traps out. One brutal week of Texas August later... the a/c folks came out and finished the install.
The install was terrible. Within the first 30 days, the a/c failed three times. The first two were pressure switches, then a coil. The John Moore service tech commented on the installation as "terrible" and "subpar"; and then he took me into the attic to look at the the sagging plenum boxes and poor work. Another installation team was dispatched out on day 60.
The entire time... rats descended from the attic and started destroying the house. Holes chewed into cabinets, doors, baseboards, food destroyed, and they destroyed my new a/c system.
John Moore agreed to replace all duct-work and damaged components once they got us rat free. Fast forward to October of 2016, and John Moore never got us rat free. They quit. They said they would refund my money - it's 11/15/2016 and I haven't seen it yet. They also double billed me on my regular pest spraying service. Still haven't seen that either. Correspondence seems to die on Harry's desk (the Pest Control manager).
So I called Critter Control of Houston. They sent technicians out to the house, and sealed it up properly. The crew foreman walked me around the house with a dowel rod and showed me 4 places John Moore sealed improperly, 2 places they outright missed, showed me how the flashing around the garage door was a personal injury potential if someone fell, showed me the failure of using hardware cloth to patch holes. John Moore screwed hardware cloth over my clothes dryer's outside vent--- major fire hazard. Critter Control used mortar to seal entry points and did a bang up job. I cannot recommend them enough.
On 11/12/2016, John Moore did make good on replacing the a/c components that were damaged. I finally have working a/c. 1 year and 3 months later. I still haven't seen my refund for Rodent Control nor my refund on the Pest Spraying service.
Save yourself a massive headache and go elsewhere.

August 7, 2020. We had our 50 year old ducts removed and new installed. Two new airflow vents were installed to accommodate our large air conditioner unit work more efficiently and safely. Our house smells great, clean air is wonderful and will improve our allergy conditions. So polite, worked in very hot conditions efficiently and quickly. I made sure they had plenty of water and they were so kind and trustworthy. They carefully carried everything out and the new in for installation. We financed our services at a very reasonable rate. 1st we had john moore send us an email confirmation that we had a scheduled appointment THEY NEVER SHOWED. THEN TOLD US WE WERENT SCHEDULED ALTHOUGH WE HAD EMAIL CONFIRMATION.
2nd they showed up today. We needed 5 lights hung and 3 plug outlets installed. NO MAJOR WORK NO ELECTRICAL RUNS.
They quoted 3700.00 what a scam!!!

Our experience was AMAZING! Mike & Sidney were far beyond customer service orientated, they have a true love for their profession and compassion for their clients. All of this occurred the day before Thanksgiving and they worked 9/10 hours to ensure we weren't left without power for 4-5 days because the City and Utility Companies were closed. The guided us in the whole process of communicating with our PUC and what needed to be said to make them realize we were in a hazardous situation & had a medical necessities. They made sure the City authorized and released the permitting quickly. Mike was even able to see at one point my husband was overloading me with questions while I was taking care of business on the phone and redirected him professionally, ensuring my husband I could answer when I was done, so I didn't have a meltdown. Their work was fantastic! They were efficient, thorough and their cleanliness in work/clean up superb. Sidney and Mike were an excellent team who genuinely seemed to enjoy working together. Their expertise in being electricians was only a part of who they truly were. Their respect for us, our property and situation was beyond any consideration ever received from a Contractor before. We would hire them or others from John Moore in a heartbeat from the impression they left us with. Truly our Thanksgiving blessing.
John Moore is a horrible company. They charged us $4500 to replace 45 feet of PVC. It has been almost two weeks and our yard is still dug up. When my wife called to speak to customer service she was told they charge premium prices for premium services. Where is the premium service? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. You can actually get the work done cheaper and a better more professional job. John Moore don t bother replying with the generic we ve personally reached out to you BS comment. You may have reached out to us but you haven t solved the problem you created.
Charged $350 to unclog kitchen sink and didn't fix the problem. If we would have opted for the upcharge drain clear that would be $1500. Don't know how these guys sleep at night.

Call John, get less. we called for air conditioning service on 8/10, we were scheduled for an appointment between 2 and 5pm on 8/11, after numerous calls to them, they called us at 9:55 to say they would be here on Sunday betwen 5 & 8 pm, again they called us at 9:55 to let us know they would be here on Monday at 5 to 8. They called us at 10:00 pm tha they would not make it again. Although we called numerous times and were assured that we woud get service. I also asked to talke to a manager, I was told they would call back in two hours. I never received the call. I work in retail...do you not think I can affect your bussiness... you are sorry very wrong!

The response was immediate. Less than a few seconds after I entered my initial request information, a John Moore representative called me and quickly scheduled an appt for me to get an estimate. The service rep was prompt, official and friendly. He called first and immediately handed his card to me at the front door when he arrived.
Very disappointed and insulted yesterday on how my retired parents were quoted 1399.00$ for a new condenser fan motor and capacitor for their outside unit when their warranty was still good until november but was told by the tech that there was no record of their warranty omg are you people really serious right now? Im not even an a/c tech but i know enough to tell you that a new motor and capacitor shouldnt cost 1400$ so i removed them in a matter of 10 minutes if that and went to grainger this morning and replaced them with brandnew components for 92.00$ and now their house is ice cold again. It really is a shame that john moore left my parents sweating with a quote that would of left my retired parents who live on a fixed income devastated for months. I really think you could of done better by your customers by being a little more honest and honoring your warrnty or at the very least fixing a 100$ problem with a 10% charge on parts and a reasonable service call fee. I personally believe that this is 100% the worst rip off ive ever incountered in my 41 years on this planet and pray that somebody comes along to put you guys out of business for good !!!!! You guys are terrible and hope you choke on the rip off money that is taken advantage of people who dont know any better.

If you ever get a notion to use Johm Moore Services please get that out of your head immediately. 4 years ago our air conditioning system stopped cooling and unfortunately I was stupid enough to call them. Granted they got here in a timely manner but after checking the system they told me the unit was low on freon and the condenser needed to be replaced. Stupid me I let them convince me that compared to the cost of repairs it would be smarter to replace the unit with a new, more efficient one. Well $7700 and a few hours later I had a new one. Keep in mind my old unit was only 7 years old but was builders grade. Forward to 4 years later I had a ROOF leak and I called them for that. They sent out a plumber saying they do that first to make sure it isn't a leaking pipe and if that wasn't it they would send out a roofer to give me a quote. I guess I am dumber than I thought, who besides John Moore would send a plumber to check for a roof leak problem. I should have stopped there but I didn't. February of this year the new air conditioning unit started to make a noise so I called them out and the technician listened to it, picked up a brick, sat it on top of the unit and said that it was just a vibration of the cover. It took care of the noise so I was semi happy. So stupid me called them out for my roof. I was talking to the roofer and I mentioned about what the ac tech did. Well after giving me an out of sight quote for the roof repair he informed the office of my problem with the ac guy, so they decided on their own to send another one. This one at least acted like he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately I left him alone out there. After tracking mud all over my pool deck and not cleaning it up he gave me a quote saying that the condenser motor was bad because it was pulling too many amps and the fan blades were warped. How in heavens name do fan blades warp. Even though some of the parts were supposedly under warranty my part for the repairs was $1049 and change. I looked up the price of a replacement motor ($1199.99 on their quote) and fan blade assy ($599 on quote) on line and I could have bought them both for less than $200. Oh, and for some reason he wanted to replace the starter capacitor too?????. He also said the unit was not installed correctly because there were 2 rubber shock absorbers missing which could cause the condenser to vibrate. Needless to say I won't be doing any business with this rip off company and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

However, their technician would not even measure since the city had not yet marked where they were tapping in. We realize it could change...it is an ESTIMATE....but they refused to do so. Terrible business practice!!

While the technician & person who scheduled my appointment were courteous & professional, the price for re-mounting a toilet on an existing flange & replacing the shutoff valve were absolutely OUTRAGEOUS...$550 for a wax ring, a small valve & maybe, MAYBE 75 minutes of time. Don't bother unless you don't mind spend crazy money.
