We contacted John Moore for a furnace checkup because we had bought a house on which the previous owner did no A/C or furnace maintenance.

Technician Humphrey G. arrived timely; he showed his ID & introduced himself. He was personable & professional at the same time. Humphrey finished his check & confirmed that the furnace had not been checked since it was installed.

He showed us photos he'd taken that showed issues with the furnace. He gave us our options to amend the issues, and then made it all happen the same day.

We are very pleased with John Moore's customer service, and highly commend Humphrey G. for his part in the process.

This is just based off their communication. Called and was given an option to leave my number for a call back. Did this twice and never spoke to an actual person. Understand there are a lot of people trying to get a plumber right now in Texas. But change your message while people are waiting from "someone will be with you in 60 seconds" if you know it isn't possible. Over the span of 5 days I never talked to an actual person. Ended up going with someone else, doubtfully will ever use them as they handled this situation poorly.

We appreciated the prompt response time but I m glad I went with my gut and called for a second quote. We were quoted less than a quarter of the price for the same work by 2 other reputable companies in the area. John Moore called to ask about my experience and I explained the quote was far too high yet they had no response to look into or explain why. Always a good idea to get a second or third quote but it does make me question their integrity.

He didn't force any programs but simply explained the features and benefits of what diagnosis and developed a plan to fix the issues. Everyone was friendly and helpful on the phone. They kept me informed when the service tech arrival would be. The service tech was Glenn J. He was very courteous and informative about what repairs were needed and if parts were available. He gave me an estimate of the repair work and also gave me estimates to replace my a/c equipment. He did a very good job of explaining everything to me.

Hunter was our initial contact he was so warm and welcoming most importantly he was very compassionate to what we were going thru with a busted pipe..... Hunter arrived within an hour and a half from our Initial call to John Moore... he stayed till 8:30pm and came back the next day never one time did he rush bcuz it was after hours on a Friday or complain or even rush on Saturday!!! John Moore financing department was very easy only took minutes.... I have never seen a company so compassionate about their customers who isn t pushy to sale you something we made the choice to repipe our house John Moore never pushed us to repipe! Along with we never felt like a stranger/a dollar sign $....... Clint & John who has done our repipe has been so nice and treated our home as their own..... Hunter was here today (during our repipe) and agreed you can t even tell their is a repipe going on. Out home is clean, very professional work where they cut the Sheetrock..... You honestly can t tell they have even been here!!! Clint & John feel like we have known them for years!!!! So glad we chose John Moore!!!

I had a water heater decide to give out and proceeded to overflow its pan and flood downstairs as well. John Moore Services had Rey at my property within an hour of my call and he was incredible. He quickly analyzed the sitution and jumped into action saving me further property damage. He was great in spelling out the problem(s) and multiple solutions. I could not be more satisfied with his assessment and work. He called in the remediation people (also incredible folk) and they got right to work. Thanks Rey... Thanks John Moore Services!

John Moore replaced my home air conditioning unit in 2010. I was given an Extended Service Agreement that covered parts and labor for 10 years. When my a/c quit working recently, I called and a technician came out. When I first called and also when the tech arrived, I explained that I had a 10-year warranty on my unit. Upon the tech calling the home office, he was told that they could not find any evidence of the warranty.

The tech told me that if I wanted the repair (replacement of the blower motor) done, it would cost me $500. I replied that my urgent need was to have the a/c working again and that I would contact the home office regarding the warranty. When I called the home office and spoke to "Customer Care", once again I received the information that they could not find a copy of the warranty.

The next day I emailed Monnah Pugh with the copy of the warranty attached. Following up with her afterwards, she indicated that a credit of $500 against my credit card would be forthcoming. She stated that it normally takes approximately 10 business days for this to happen.

It is now several weeks later and the credit has not been issued. When I received my credit card bill, I disputed this charge and explained why. I will never use this company again for any new work and recommend any of you who do use John Moore and receives a warranty, keep your copy of the warranty and always pay with a credit card so when they do not honor their warranty, you can dispute their charges.

So not satisfied after spending 30,000. Asked for a full re- pipe and still having back up due to elevation problems. Have no idea why elevation wasn t an issue when I received a 30,000 estimate. On the 5th visit is when I was informed about elevation. John Moore will never get any more business of mine! The are a total rip-off. If I could rate this company with zero I would because they do not deserve ANY stars.

If you want to screwed like light bulb, hire these guys! I tried two times to use them, each time they send a person who is paid on commission, hence the technician is paid to up the price to as much as they can hose you for! One of their techs actually told me about the commish structure then tried to cut the company out of the deal, and do the work on the side.

Their game is to offer FREE estimates, and then knowing that 90% of the people don't want call someone else, the 'sales technician' jacks up the price. In my experience, they are twice the price of a good company that will get the work done and not play the game...I wish I could click on a ZERO!

Don't you like how they respond to all the other complaints, like mine with "but we do great work", they better at those prices, the poor babies!! The positive reviews are paid for or written by the management...get a real company!

I was quoted $399 for 2lbs of freon and $159 per lb after. Just had Centauro put a little over 8lbs of freon in for $240. How is that competitive?Either your guy was rediculously off or you're not even close to competitive. Everyone, save your money and go elsewhere.

Vincent (dont know his last name) was extremely helpful, prompt, and on time! He was able to determine the issue right away in our plumbing and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. It's been awhile since I've seen such great customer service. He also recommended some quick and easy tips for keeping our drains clean rather than trying to sell me on additional services. I would definitely recommend John Moore to any friends, family, and colleagues! Keep it up Vincent and JM!

Great service, again! This was my 2nd time calling John Moore (separate issues) and was pleased once again. Doug was great and was able to tackle to issues right away. Double checked and verified that everything else related to our Air Conditioning was in working order!

John Moore rep Derek Cooksey came to my house to repair my A/C unit. Note that another company had come out five times in a 22 month period to "fix" this tree-year-old Trane unit.....unsuccessfully. Derek ascertained that there was a leak in the coil (a minor manufacturing defect that cause me major headaches and money!) that needed to be soldered, then the unit needed to be recharged. He completed the work on time and for the amount he'd originally quoted. So, after about 2 years, the unit is finally working properly. My house is now cooler....and so is my temper. Thank you John Moore!

They are a "Rewrap" Company. Their AC Products are a rewrap from a major manufacturer. They sell the point that they are covered by the manufacture warranty but what they do not tell you is that they will not cover labor cost.

It isn't labor cost exactly either. For example, our Blower went out on the house. We paid a little over $12,000 for a full system. Within three years the blower went out so we called and they sent a tech and they want to charge us $700 to replace the blower EVEN THOUGH it is under warranty.

Now $700 is nuts for labor and other AC companies agree. So what John Moore Services does is they take the part they need to replace (in this case $1450) and divide that price by two. This is for ALL parts under manufacture warranty. MOST companies just charge actual labor but they tack on 1/2 the price of the unit they are replacing.

Just a heads up. Unless you pay the God-Awful amount for their 10 year warranty they will get you with labor on the manufacturer warranty.

We asked "Since we bought the part from John Moore can we just get the part and have another company come out and replace it for us since they would only charge us $300?" They said "If you have another company install the blower motor they will have to supply the part and contact the manufacturer themselves."

Although I understand their business fundamentals (just like any business) and the concept of maximizing the profits by all means, I just can't stay silent in this case. I called (by just googling the first available company in the area) to get an estimate for some very benign repair (more about it later) and that should have triggered me to look elsewhere immediately but I figured, I'd give them a shot. Very nice and pleasant phone scheduling person took all my information and scheduled the tech visit for the following day (I called in the evening). I was fine with that although I was hoping to get at least a ball park estimate over the phone not to waste their or my time. So I was given a 2 hour window the following day and I made an arrangements to stay home to talk to the tech and explain the task and not rely on the wife to do that. Next morning I received a bunch of texts with the confirmations, arrival times, etc, a few calls too, which is fine but clearly unnecessary and an overkill (again a red flag if you're looking for a simple work). The tech showed up at the very last minute of the 4 hour window (although originally the window was supposed to be a 2 hour one). I created the tech outside to show him what I needed to be done. Now to the last itself. All I needed was to replace one main valve that shuts the water to the house, it wasn't an emergency or any other disastrous situation a more of a precaution maintenance. All that was required to do was to shut the water at the main valve at the street (25 ft away with easy access and 1 minute of work, cut the old valve off and screw/glue new valve into existing plumbing 0 easily accessible on the side of the house. With the right tools, supplies, some PVC pipe connectors and the valve itself ($25 piece) that would have been a 20-30 min job. Again, I understand that a service call needs to make them worth their while so I figured, fine, I'd pay for 2 hours at the market rate for this type of service. Low and behold - I was given an esteem to do this job for $669!!! I'm not kidding. Not only that, the tech was pretty rude, stating this is their fixed rate for this type of repair and showed their price schedule, and also joked that once I get it done myself in 20 minutes I should call and tell him that. So, this is what I'm doing, letting everybody know that I did this myself in 45 minutes, which included the trip to Home Depot to pick up the valve and a couple of PVS couplers (total material cost $30). I ended up wasting my day not going to the office to go through this experience and now I'm a little smarter and now that I will never be calling this company for any reason to do any repairs. We use John Moore's pest control services. They're kinda pricey, but the service is good. David Cook, our technician, is the #1 reason we have stayed with them as long as we have. He's professional, knowledgeable, VERY thorough, and always up to date on current pest control developments and strategies. We have lots of trees and heavy landscaping, so we constantly battle squirrels, mice, mosquitos, wasps, and various weird insects. David is relentless in pursuit of whatever pests are causing problems, and stays on top of it until they're gone.
