We got home from work around 6pm and realized our AC was not working. We called John Moore after another nearby company told us $125 just for a trip fee. Noly was here by 8pm and was able to fix the problem in under an hour and for under $100. I have 3 toddlers who got a cool, sound sleep thanks to Noly! I can t thank him enough!

I have no grievance with our salesman Willie. He was very helpful when we had our house repiped and a whole house filtration system installed 4 years ago. What I do have an issue with is the fact that now that our filter is leaking, it needs to be replaced. And guess what? It was only warrantied for 3 years! On top of that, the entire system cost $1000.00 4 years ago. To replace the tank today the cost is $3,000.00!!! I think you get my point by now!

I had a John Moore customer service rep come to my home to check out my AC unit that was not cooling. I explained to the customer service rep over the phone that I had noticed the compressor fan on the outdoor unit was not turning. When the service rep arrived it was a light rain falling he immediately went to the side of the house where the outdoor unit is located i followed. He asked that I turn the AC unit on from the thermostat inside the house I returned outside and was told you're right the fan is not running and you can feel heat coming from the fan unit. i mentioned to him the AC unit is only two years old and is still under warranty. he said well let me go check and I'll be right back he never went inside the house to check out anything else. He returned and said yes the unit has a warranty and proceeded to show me the cost for the warranty replacement of the fan motor and a new capacitor. I asked why I needed a new fan motor and capacitor he said the fan had died and it was customary to replace the capacitor as well I asked what if the capacitor is still good he said it should be replaced anyway.
He proceeded to show me on his tablet computer the quoted John Moore package costs for warranty replacement of the compressor fan and a new capacitor.
$1,600 total. I was appalled what! why so much I asked, is this all labor the unit is under warranty? he replied this included the capacitor cost of $299.00. I asked what is the labor hourly rate? I was told John Moore does not use hourly rates for labor the price is a standard package rate calculated per the job including parts, labor, warranty, travel costs etc. I was livid and asked to speak with his supervisor he reluctantly called and I heard his supervisor say "the matter with price should be addressed with customer service" and he hung up.
The service rep went back to his truck and returned minutes later with a revised estimate shown on his tablet computer of $1249.97 complete with tax. (OEM 825 RPM Condenser Fan Motor & Capacitor 2yr parts and labor Limited Warranty $1,299, OEM Condenser fan Blade $599.99, HVAC Warranty 2016 Unit Under Warranty -$950.00, and Dual Run Capacitor $299.99) The service rep then said I can get it up and running for you but not today because of the rain his manager advised he not work on the unit in the rain. He proceeded to send me the estimate via my e-mail. Really, I'm so glad the weather was cooler from the rain in the Houston area inside the house had only got up to 87 deg F. I called another local AC company the next day. they were able to schedule me for late afternoon after work, again there was a light rain falling. The service rep arrived before I got home but my wife was there he proceeded to troubleshoot the unit and just before I arrived home he had found a burned out capacitor replaced it and had the AC unit cooling again he went up in the attic to check the Cooling and Heating unit up there as well and checked the air temp from the access port in the unit it was 58 deg F. The Job was complete within 1 hour labor & Capacitor warranty replacement cost $228.00 Wow! what a difference.

I will never Trust John Moore for anything again and will be sure to warn others. I later learned their service reps are paid commission I wonder what incentive is tied to getting customers to pay more for unnecessary parts, labor, and warranties? So SAD.

Adam was very thorough in getting alignment with me on the approach that was to be used to first locate the leak (result of Feb Freeze in Texas) and to secondly repair the leak. He was also thorough on explaining the pricing for the various pieces of the scope of work. Once we got aligned he did his work very efficiently and cleaned up when he left. Fit well within the time frame that I had allowed for the work.

I have used John Moore plumbing several times over the years. The cost is the issue I have with John Moore and I would put it at a C for cost, but have never been disappointed with the results of their work and put them at an A+ for results. So if you are able to sustain the higher prices and require a licensed insured pluming company, I think people should consider John Moore.

Day earlier we set appointment and because it was Sunday we are was aware we will spend $50 more. So price went up from 99 to 149. We were ok with that. But then Javier came and said it will be more than 519$ (without even observing the problem). Keep insisting if we would call on a workday it will cost us only $99 .

Let me tell you Russell found the leak and had it repaired in less than an hour! My A/C drain stopped up, I called John Moore and told them my A/C drain was stopped up and needed someone to unstop. Told me there would be a service charge of $49.00 to come out which I said OK. I have unstopped drains many times but now am too old to crawl around in the attic. They sent the repair person to my house and he sent into the attic and said it was stopped up but it would cost $275.00 to unstop the drain. I told the person to leave. What a shame that a company would try to rob people. I called a reputable company, they sent man right out and he did the job in less than ten minutes and charged me $100.00 without a service charge to appear. You made your last
$49.00 from me and I have told all of my neighbors about your service. I only worry about the people who are stupid enough to pay $275.00 to unstop a A/C drain.

Been using John Moore for all sorts of repairs. I like that are quick, punctual. I get notice of when my tech will arrive with a photo. The work is done professionally. They clean up after the work is done. They are friendly and informed me upfront of possible cost for work. Recommend John Moore to all my friends and neighbors.

Update. They fixed my ceiling better than it was before. They worked hard to make things right. It took a while but they came through. They have regained my trust!

Very bad experience. The staff were polite and well trained and they were all initially responsive. However, during the installation of a water heater the installer, while draining the old water heater, left it unattended and the hose detached and flooded the ceiling. They offered to repair the damage but the the company they use had other priorities and could not do the repairs. After numerous calls, I have given up. So, we are left with that responsibility, after paying $600 more than another bid for the same job by Mr. Rooter. We agreed to pay more because we thought they would do a good job. Stay away from this company. From the reviews, many people are satisfied but if you are the customer where things go wrong you will waste a lot of time and lose in the end.

The rep was great = however, seems every time you guys come over, there is an extra expense to fix something . My furnace is less than 2 years old and already there is an issue with the coil - another $1,400 expense - I spent over 10,000 for this unit with an addition expense ( > 1,000) to be sure all the water is drained from the pan automatically. Everyone sees I live in a brick home and think I am wealthy . I'm retired on a fixed income and worked very hard and sacrificed a lot to pay for this home. The last thing I need is someone trying scare me into paying for unnecessary repairs!!

Mr. Watts was an absolute professional! I was pleasantly surprised to have a service provider that was completely honest, very knowledgeable and thoroughly answered ALL of my questions and reassured my concerns.
He fixed my dislodged pipe in minutes with minimal cost and the recommendations that he made were exactly the other services I shared with the customer service agent that answered my call. His ability to explain the other services was comforting and I can say that I would highly recommend this company and would use this company under Mr. Watts availability.
He followed all safety and health precautions as well.
Mr. Watts and the John Moore company made me feel completely at ease and gave me an option to finance a shower repair that is in desperate need. The prices were reasonable and the financing advertisement is real!
I look forward to doing future business with this company and Mr. Watts !!

John Moore is a brand that you can trust. Henry Tamacas the licensed HVAC rep that was dispatched to my service call, was prompt, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He took the time to go through pictures he had taken of my attic furnace and A/C unit, as well as discuss with me important concerns. This goes a long way for me! I highly recommend John Moore for your HVAC names and ask for Henry T.!

This avoidable experience was my own fault, BUT............you can learn from my mistake. Do your due diligence when researching fee for service. I didn't. John Moore charges $300 for the first 2 pounds of this particular kind of freon and then $120 for every additional pound after that. I paid $660 for 5 pounds. I should have looked around. The typical price for this freon is $65 per pound. Taking into account the service fee I would have paid for company B to come out to do the job, I would have paid $390, saving me $270. JMS did everything they said they would do for the exact price they said they would do it, and they did a good job, but look around for a better price.

Used John Moore for the first time today. Our electrician was Gerardo. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. The reason for our service call was to inspect our main breaker panel as a precautionary measure since other sister homes have had issues. Gerardo did a thorough inspection of the panel (we were fortunate that it was ok), and he also checked out a few other minor things and offered some advice while he was here. He also gave us a 45 minute notice before he arrived which was extremely helpful.

This review is not only for the work performed by John Moore, but mostly on their ability to make things right for the customer.

Earlier this month John Moore replaced both of my HVAC units, and although there were some issues with the installation and communication, they were always available to answer my questions, and most importantly, they didn t stop until everything was done right and to my satisfaction.

Things can always go wrong, and I don t consider fair to post a rating based on the initial outcome of a service appointment, but rather on the company s ability to solve problems, be customer centric and make it right. This was the case with my experience with John Moore.

I would like to thank Al Alvarado, who did an excellent job to make things right for me on the installation, as well as Monnah Pugh, who handled my case in the office.

Derick Mourning did a great job! Our master bathroom sinks would fill up when the AC was on. I contacted John Moore, and they sent out Derick the next morning. He called and said he'd be here in about 30 minutes, and he was. He told us what he can do to solve our issue and gave us a quote. We agreed to the price, and he got to work right away. He was professional and educated us on how to keep our AC lines maintenanced. Definitely recommend!

The worst experience I have ever had with any plum...

The worst experience I have ever had with any plumbing or home contractor. They set appointments with you and don't keep them so that you waste a bunch of time waiting on them to not show up. The plumber didn't show up at all not only for the first appointment, but also the second rescheduled appointment. He rescheduled each appointment but didn't bother to inform me that he rescheduled. It is not until i call the office multiple times to learn that my plumber won't be coming and rescheduled for another time. Keep in mind that the rescheduling is happening three hours into my current appointment time. And I probably would have never been informed about it if I didn't call their office. Ultimately, on the third re-scheduled appointment he wasn't planning on showing up either. At least this time I called the office early in my appointment window and asked them to send another plumber out since the original plumber doesn't seem to want to do the work.

Overall, terrible customer service experience. If i could do it again, i would have read the Yelp reviews on this company first because those reviews are more accurate with the experience I had.

He also called the office as not much information was provided and provided the work under warranty. Had he not took the time to call the office it could have turned into a complaint to John Moore not the technician.

We had a new dishwasher delivered Friday 6/22/18 however the drain valve was the wrong size for the new unit. The dishwasher was left in the garage until we could get a plumber out to install the new valve. I called John Moore who then sent a plumber out the same day. That was great! All we wanted was a new valve installed. However, he tried to get us to change 3 valves, sell us a water softener system and repipe our whole house. He gave us quotes ranging from $229.00 to $13699.00. My husband agreed to one valve, that s it!! $229.99 total!! We don't like people trying to push things on us! The job he did was fine but I ll be looking for another plumbing company next time!
