I am so appreciative of Rafael and the rest of the team at Jim Ellis Mazda, I brought my vehicle in because I was having speaker issues, and he discovered that I had 6 open recalls for my vehicle. He had one of his best mechanics knock out 6 hours of labor in 3, and my vehicle is working great. He was also honest with me in terms of my best options to replace my speaker system, and for that I'm appreciative. Needless to say, their customer service is unmatched.

The Jim Ellis Mazda service department in Atlanta ...

The Jim Ellis Mazda service department in Atlanta Ga. is very courteous and they kept me informed of my vehicle status during my recent visit. Their time and cost estimate of work was completely accurate. They also washed my 2006 Mazda 3. Overall, a very pleasant experience, as it always is with this service department. This is the best Mazda service department we have used in the Atlanta area. This is the 3rd dealership the car has been serviced at and I will continue to bring it to Jim Ellis Mazda for as long as we own the car. This is how service should be! In 2017, my feeling about this dealership service department completely changed. When I took my car there because it was losing coolant. I was told my car had a bad head gasket and leaking freeze plug and it would $4,500 to fix. I took my car to Japanese Auto Repair in Duluth and my car was fixed for $500 due to a leaking coolant flange. That is all it was. Was very disappointed with Jim Ellis Mazda and will never be back for service. 10/25/18, I called the service manager 2 weeks ago today and left a voice message, as was requested and I have yet to receive a call back.

The customer service was beyond my expectation! My car had to be towed to the dealership and Phillip with Mazda even helped me get someone to tow my vehicle. My car is a 2009 CX9 which I love to drive and it needed some work and Jim Ellis servicing department was absolutely a pleasure to work with! I cannot say enough about Phillip as he answered all my calls and informed me of the process the entire time. I definately would recommend Jim Ellis Mazda

Had another great experience buying a car at Jim Ellis Mazda Atlanta. I bought my first car from here in 2017. It was such a good experience that this was my first stop when upgrading to a new CX-5. Jose R was friendly, professional, patient, and well versed. Any questions I had, he had the answer. He allowed me to take my time with decisions--I never felt pressured which I regard as the most important trait when I'm buying a car. He respected that it was a big decision and when I needed more time, he was accommodating. That's why when I was ready to buy, Jose R was the first person I reached out to. Can't say enough about how well things are run at Jim Ellis Mazda Atlanta. Highly recommend.

Bait and Switch - terrible sales experience. I would never buy a car at this dealership. They emailed me a vin number of a vehicle and quoted an out the door price. When we showed up to pay for it they said they wanted $1800 more than what they quoted. That put the price at full MSRP for that vehicle. We purchased the vehicle from another Mazda dealership without any issues for about the same price that Jim Ellis would not honor. Best of all that dealership gave us that deal with no haggling needed.

In this latest visit, I was told that a drop-off appointment time of 10AM was perfect for a Tuesday. I arrived 9:45AM to drop off my vehicle for an oil change and screw to be tightened elsewhere in the car. I was told that the service would not take longer than 2 hours. No one in service could answer the phone all day and at 2:30PM I finally received a call back saying my car was not brought into the shop due to being "backed up", but was promised to have my car ready by 3:45PM. I asked if they just kept pushing my car back and handling waiting customers in the lobby. I was assured that was not it, but if they were backed up so much, why were the customers in the lobby different people from when I came in to drop off the vehicle? I arrive at 3:45PM to my car not ready, but it being ready around 4:30PM. I was to get off of work at 3PM, with no means to get home. I had to wait until 4:30, and it then taking over an hour in traffic to go home due to unorganized employees that could not manage time slots for appointments. Why tell me that that time is fine, and no means of transportation was available to get to work for a meeting I had or to get back to Mazda. However, "for my troubles", I received the service for free with a tire rotation I did not ask for, as the last time I came in, they told me I could not do a rotation and had to buy new tires because they were worn down, but the tires were not.I was told that my tires were wearing down and that they could not rotate my tires unless I bought new tires in which they would happily do so for roughly $600 (for just 2 tires) during the last appointment. What has changed now that my tires could be rotated? This place is unorganized and dishonest.

I only had 1100 miles on car, so I asked the person at service desk to not do the tire rotation. I had an appointment for the service, but, since it took 1 1/2 hrs to do and I had another appointment @ 3, I did not dispute the charge for the tires.
Everybody was pleasant, but did not hear a 71 year old woman.

I routinely visit this location for regular maintenance, but I will think twice before returning. I had a recall fixed (an issue with my dashboard) which ended up taking longer than anticipated because they broke my dashboard in the process and needed to reorder the part. Upon receiving my vehicle, I noticed that the auxiliary port no longer worked which was because they didn't hook it back up correctly. Additionally, when I initially dropped it off, I asked if I should remove all of the items from the glove compartment. I was told that it wasn't necessary. However, when I got my car back, all of my CDs, legal documents, tools, etc. were strewn about my car. I feel extremely disrespected by their technicians.

The one positive: my service advisor apologized for all of the inconveniences.

I had a great overall experience at Jim Ellis Mazda Chamblee.
Rochelle went above and beyond to help me find my new Mazda 3.
She was so friendly and easy to work with.
Michael was also great to work with in the Finance department.
Fair honest pricing without pressuring or being pushy at all with my purchase.
I left JE Mazda very happy with a great car!

My Mazda SUV's engine overheated and was ruined. Rafael got the repairs covered under warranty, saving me thousands of dollars and saving my car from the scrap heap. He communicated clearly and often with me about the progress, and through testing found other errors that he fixed before I picked up the car. Thanks, Rafael!

I am on my 4th Mazda and really love their vehicles. I just purchased a CX-5 from ANOTHER dealership and was a nightmare! I wish I had purchased my new vehicle from Jim Ellis Mazda. I was having issues with service at old dealership and decided to go somewhere else which led me to Jim Ellis.

From the beginning Jim Rosser has been excellent to work with. His staff are professional and friendly. They follow up too!

I will continue to use this dealership for all my service needs. Thank you Jim for being awesome and helpful.

I've been going to Jim Ellis since 2005 when I bought my first new Mazda. I'm on my second new Mazda and I must say that Rafael Mateo is the best service advisor that they have ever had. Rafael puts his customers first before anything else. He has put up with some not very kind moments from me and I just don't know how he does it. He's always friendly and always sweet and always helpful.

I worked with Seth Rogers and he was very knowledgeable and wonderful to deal with. We are not locals but purchased our vehicle on the way back from vacation. The car and paperwork were waiting for us when we arrived and everything went smoothly. Seth took the time to show us all the bells and whistles on our new SUV and as a part-time DJ he made sure we knew how to get the best sound for our ride home! I would recommend this dealership without any reservations, everyone was terrific!

I had a great time with these guys. Seth took great care of me, and answered every last question I had. When it came to the financing part Mr Johnson took the extra time to break everything down to make sure I understood what I was getting into. He got my payments well below what I could afford, and made my journey to owning my very first car an all around great experience.

I drove 217 miles to get here and will definitely do it again for the next car. I didn't know it was possible to have a painless car buying experience until I came here. Special thank you to bobby clamp and his amazing co workers for being so awesome, patient and incredibly helpful!

Wanted to like them, but Jim Ellis is by far the worst dealership I've been to. Specifically, Jeff Barrett was pretty bad. He's the salesman I leased my car from, and I went in today to get the car tinted. When I asked what kind of tint options they had, he said didn't know that there were different shades of tint. After an hour over what I was told I'd be waiting, he said he called the tint place and they "seemed sketchy", so he'd give me a loaner while they got it figured out. I'm just hoping to get my car back tonight.

Overall, I don't know anything about the other salesman, but Jeff Barrett was pretty bad. He said he never wanted to get into the field, that he'd be out in two years, and it showed. It would have been great to have a relationship with this dealer because it's close, but they're pretty bad.

Five Stars...One Word! YAGO

Five Stars...One Word! YAGO

The Service Department Supervisor Yago is the best. Not only did he go out of his way to address all of me and my wife's concerns, he also personally saw to it that our vehicle left the service department in tip-top shape. We were provided with an awesome loaner vehicle, and the entire experience from start to finish was seamless and smooth.

In addition to the actual service performed on my car, the amenities provided by Jim Ellis Mazda are comparable to the treatment, service and courtesies that I receive at Jim Elllis Porsche whenever I have my Panamera serviced.

If I could give these guys "Six Stars" for their professionalism and outstanding service, I absolutely would....Thanks again Yago!

My first time buying a new car and I was quite anx...

My first time buying a new car and I was quite anxious but Lisa was the best! She took all the time I needed, gave me very satisfactory numbers to begin with, and chatted with me while we waited. Very pleasant and cheerful lady! She even put off her lunch for more than a couple of hours which was delivered to her while I was in the office. I especially appreciated that NEITHER Lisa NOR the finance manager used any sort of four-square related misdirection, and were very clear about how much I was paying for the vehicle, how much it was out the door, how much interest was on top - which can't be said about a dealer a few lots down the road... I also had forgotten to get the privacy cargo cover for my car, and the porter delivered it to my house within the hour!

The only negatives to the entire car buying experience were: 1) it took so long to process the paperwork. We had worked out the details and such within 45 minutes or so, but finance, response from banks, signings, waiting take a long long time. Not really the dealer's fault; 2) My car came straight out of the storage lot and was very dusty. They did a quick wash job, but perhaps a bit too quick. A lot of dust left around the small gaps and spaces and there was some weird dry sap like residue on the roof that looked like big scratches that I didn't notice until I got home. Luckily, it all came off with some water and soap.

All in all a really outstanding first-new-car-bought experience.

Got my Mazda from them, thought I would leave a commet here. Their service was very good in general. Didn't go through a very long negotiation for the deal since I had done enough research and got it at the end of the month. We agreed on the price via phone calls and emails. They didn't push me on purchasing any other services or packages when I went over to sign the paperwork, very nice attitude too, probably the best Mazda dealer around ATL. Felt pretty comfortable with the manager there. Would recommend this dealership.

This review is for the entire Mazda customer servi...

This review is for the entire Mazda customer service experience, not just my experience at Jim Ellis Mazda. I had never had any issues with my 2013 Mazda3 until the day the transmission went out. I had all standard maintenance done on the car and by all measures treated it extremely well. I was stopped at a red light a couple of weeks ago and when the light turned green the car refused to move. Instead it behaved like it was in neutral. Simultaneously both the check engine and AT lights illuminated on the dash. Great. After a few moments I was able to get it into drive and immediately parked in the closest lot and had it towed to Jim Ellis Mazda for inspection.

At this point I called Mazda corporate customer service and advised them of the issue. They immediately ask you your car's mileage before they say anything else to determine if it's still under warranty. The powertrain warranty expires at 60k miles. I was at 62k. Mazda completely refused to help in any way. They have funds available to assist customers at their discretion (e.g. if a critical part fails close to warranty expiration), but they would not make any effort to do so. Instead they shouldered be with the $3200+ burden of replacing their faulty transmission. It is virtually unheard of for a transmission to fail at 62k mi when all standard maintenance has been done, yet this did not matter to Mazda as evidenced by their atrocious customer service.

The mechanic at Jim Ellis Mazda at least tried to work with me to reduce the labor cost and I do appreciate that.

What soured the whole situation even more is the fact that they gave me the car back with absolutely no gas in the tank. When I had it towed to the dealership I told them it was low on gas and would likely need a bit for them to do their testing and diagnostics. They acknowledged this, but then proceeded to do the diagnostic, repairs, and test drive without adding any fuel to the vehicle. When I started up the car to drive it home the gauge read completely empty. I went back in and asked them how they expected me to drive a car home with no gas in the tank. They told me there must be gas in the tank, otherwise how could they have test driven the vehicle. They said they have no emergency gas at the dealership, but there's a gas station nearby...

Absolutely awful customer service. I got the car to the nearest gas station on an empty tank, but not without sweating it out at three stoplights.

Awful experience all around. If you must buy a Mazda, best to get the extended warranty. Or better yet, do yourself a favor and buy a car from a company that cares about its customers.

Terrible service department. I've been waiting 6 weeks to get a new windshield for my 2018 Mazda CX 9. I've called this dealership a grand total of 8 times. They supposedly ordered the windshield, but when I called to have it put in, they claimed it was broken when it was shipped. They do not return phone calls or follow up with their customers. I am having trouble getting a simple windshield replacement for a new vehicle. I have heard every excuse from this dealership with no resolutions. As soon as I get the windshield replaced I will be trading this vehicle in. This was my first Mazda and will be my last. I am beyond frustrated for a vehicle that I paid 40k for!

I bought my first Mazda at Jim Ellis, years back. And since then, the whole family is driving Mazda. Jim Ellis treat me as family when it comes to any help & support with my Mazdas. They truly stand behind their customers with no frails, no song & dance, no BS in providing you with service. No fancy, sugar-coated, superficial talks from the dealership staff. Just an honest-to-goodness true information about your car. Top service and the best price in town for new Mazda cars

For service maintenance, you cannot find a better Service Advisor than Rafael Mateo. Every time I bring my cars for scheduled service or any problem I have, Rafael always makes sure that the service done or any repair(s) performed by the Jim Ellis service shop on your car is always done right the first time. The biggest Plus I give Rafael is that he takes 'ownership' & responsibility of your car while it is 'inside the bay.' And while you're waiting at the dealership's very roomy, comfortable waiting lounge, Rafael would update you every 30 minutes on the status of work being performed on your car. This gesture by Rafael makes me stick to Jim Ellis Mazda for service.

The free hot, fresh-brewed coffee, sweets & pastries make the early morning trip to Jim Ellis Mazda worth the time. Very clean Restrooms, WiFi room for customers' convenience (while waiting for their car) and, just the overall fresh clean environment inside this dealership is enough to convince me to drive the distance (I live 4 hours away) to visit Jim Ellis Mazda in Atlanta.

My wife and I have been researching small suv's/crossovers for a while now. She decided on the 2020 CX-5 and reached out to many dealerships in the are via email. This first email had questions and answers about what she wanted and how she would go about it (doing as much as possible via email before going into the dealership cuz RONA). One question she asked was the "out the door price".

Seth (our salesman from this dealership) was the ONLY one to answer her questions vs "OMG Karly I would love to help you how about you come into the showroom today???". Seth was not pushy, did not try to bump us to a different car or higher trim level. Simply asked what we wanted and pointed out options they had in stock.

Cut 30 minutes later Jim Ellis was able to give us enough for our trade in and we had a deal.

Seth was an excellent salesman. Thomas also helped out in the beginning.

Get ready to say "no no no no no" to the usual slippery finance guy.

**BEWARE** This place is a nightmare. The staff are all friendly unfortunately they will lie to your face. I have given them ample chances and they always disappoint. They have let me drive away without tightening my breaks so that they failed on i75. They have given be back my car with a cracked windshield. Most recently I took my car in to have the transmission flushed, tires rotated, balanced, oil change, etc.. I spent $500. The next day my car seemed to be leaking some kind of dark fluid. I called them and told them I wasn't comfortable driving it to them but I needed it checked out. They towed my car to the service center and called me later saying it wasn't anything they did, it was normal. THEN they told me it was actually an engine mount that had burst due to age and it was old oil leaking out. I work in the auto insurance industry, my cars engine mounts are solid, there is no fluid in them. They wanted to charge me an additional $500 to fix a made up issue. I have never felt so taken advantage of by a business in my life. They don't care about your safety, they don't care about your hard earned money, they don't care about YOU. In case you were wondering, I got a second opinion on those engine mounts just to be sure, the mechanics told me there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with them. So if you go here, be prepared to pay too much for work that doesn't need to be done, and that they won't be doing anyway.

At one point I emailed Jim Ellis regarding the service I received at his dealership/service center. I never got a response.

TL/DR: Save your money, go somewhere else where the employees won't lie to you and rip you off because they think you don't know any better.

I called two days ago for a service appointment for my CX-9. I spoke with Rafael in the service dept. They were busy, but I could tell that Rafael was going out of his way to make an appointment work for me. He got me scheduled for today. I wish I could give this location and review 0 sta...

I wish I could give this location and review 0 stars, and wish I could write in the entirety of my complaint that catalogues my experience on a recall repair, however it would exceed well over the character limit.

To keep it short, I had a recall repair done one week for my power steering pump and lines after my PS went out, found out it was faulty when I took it back because my PS went out again. No initiative was made to contact me with updates on my car and was continually told "1-2 hours" every time I had to reach out. They almost wouldn't give me a loaner car after being jerked around and forcing me to leave me my car overnight. Their foul ups and incompetency costed me 2 days of my pay and 2 days of my life, more than that if you count them failing the first time around.

And if that wasn't enough, I was almost charged by the end of the experience. I had called numerous times and waited in their waiting room for hours.

Service Supervisors Rafael and Phillip both receive F's, Service Manager Yago is currently trying work with me on their training? Or something? IDK.

I don't know how to specifically categorize this, but I would say if you're getting a recall done, go elsewhere. They cut corners and fail their customer service. Also, double check everything is ship shape with your mechanic afterward with any work done.

I bought CX5 GT AWD from this dealership. You know what? I live in Kentukey but I took vacation and came down here Georgia to make a deal with these people. Finance manager John and Salesperson Seth is remarkable staffs. Their customer service is so much better than dishonest dealership near me so I decided take 4 hours drive to come here. And yeah I made great business with them. I love my car :) It is beautiful car and looks like European car shape but so much reliable and cheap for maintenance since this car made by Japanese. I've been hearing from people this is super nice car more than 50 times. It just gorgeous. If you live near by Georgia go to Jim Ellis Mazda in atlanta. You'll never regret :)

I went to this car dealership today before work and was able to haggle the price on my trade in up to what I wanted and get the financing I was looking for in less than three hours. Pretty sure that's a world record especially considering a lightning strike caused the dealership's power to go out momentarily. Jim Ellis Mazda on Peachtree Industrial knows what they're doing. 10/10 probably won't buy again if this car is as reliable as it should be but i'll refer others! Seth is a very respectful and friendly salesman. The office manager was very courteous and knew I was in a time constraint. Mustafa who works in the business office understood what monthly payment I was looking for and was able to fetch me a great APR on the car I wanted.

Surprised at all the rave reviews. They tried telling me my Mazda needed new breaks and rotors and it was going to be over 1000 dollar service. I was skeptical because I had just bought my car 6 months ago and nothing was brought up on the inspection, and it only had 40k miles on it. I took it two other repair shops where they said both my rotors and breaks were fine, and I would possibly need to change my breaks in another 10k miles.
I don't appreciate being lied to. I will never return.

This experience has been MOST painful!!!!! It took me ALL day trying to schedule an oil change on my Mazda 3. I have called the dealership 4 times throughout the day only to wait on hold for 10+ minutes only to transfered to a voicemail, which I never received a call back!!! I even left messages with the "operator" that answers the phone when you first call the dealership - still, no return calls. I finally had someone pick up the phone at 6pm (it now goes to an outside company who will try to sell you on outrageously priced services) only to have them tell me that they can only schedule the appt. - but not set up the loaner vehicle. I can only set up the appt if I can get the loaner. But they won't set up the loaner unless I have an appt. Round and Round we go!!! WHAT a HASSLE!!! I haven't even set gotten the oil changed and I wasted an entire day on a useless, ineffective and pathetic system because they are too lazy to train one person who works 'in house' to schedule everything all at the same time. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! Definitely get better service at a "mom and pop" and can't wait until my service contract expires!

This is one of the few dealerships left that are about honor and integrity! Long story short, I bought a used car from them with some engine issues that neither of us knew about. When it was discovered they told me I could return the car for a full refund! Try getting that kind of service anywhere else. I would absolutely buy a car from these guys again. Big thanks to Dwayne and Brian!

Got a great deal on the CPO Mazda vehicle. Courteous staff. I always thought that all car dealers are the same and conniving, but the experience I had with Jim Ellis Mazda of Atlanta changed it. They didn't force me to buy Extended warranty. Helped a great deal with refinancing the vehicle. Special thanks to Joseph and Luke!

Jose was the best. Him and the finance manager are honest and truthful. I drove my previous vehicle for 14 years. They made the process of buying a vehicle again so easy. You can trust them. They do their best to get the best deals for their customers. I was also very impressed with the quality of cars at Jim Ellis Mazda. Every car from used to brand new was top notch.

WORST customer service. I bought a car from here in April 2019 and unfortunately it was totaled October 2019 (Not Mazda s fault, just backstory). They were not responsive and very lackadaisical when it came time for Mazda to return proper funds to the bank. They dragged their feet the entire gap coverage process. It s March and they are just now sending warranty checks back to the bank. Can you imagine the impact that had on my credit?! Michael Johnson ignored my calls for a week and a half and was sarcastic when I did get in touch with him and mention that I ve been trying to reach him. I mentioned in every voicemail to him to please call me back and let me know they funds were sent. That is just courtesy since it s taken them so long to send the funds. Michael just assumed that I was just suppose to know that the checks were sent. All they want to do is get you into a car and out their faces.

Jeff Barrett was outstanding to work with. His knowledge of the Mazda line was awesome and he made the car buying experience honest, enjoyable, and even fun. If you're headed to Jim Ellis Mazda, Jeff is the guy you should ask for.

Very fast and professional. Everyone was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Able to diagnose and resolve the problem rapidly with car trunk.

Getting an appointment at a convenient time for my work/school schedule was not a headache. The service people worked with me on finding a good time.

The manager spoke rude and insulting. Negotiating numbers always do not match in both parties. I believe we should respect each other in any of the cases. I don't suggest this dealership to anyone. Moving on with another mazda dealership.
