I didn't end up buying a vehicle here, but I thought the customer service was great. Thomas Brown was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He kept things relaxed and didn't make me feel pressured at all. The fact that I feel motivated to post a positive review even after deciding to buy another brand says a lot about the quality of service I received.

I rarely write reviews; however, I was very pleased with my sales experience with Chris at Jim Ellis. I went in alone, knowing the vehicle I wanted to purchase, a reasonable amount to pay for the vehicle, reasonable trade-in offer and came in pre-approved for financing.- which they even beat! From the second I walked in Chris was attentive and was straightforward. The overall process was a little slower than I thought necessary, but I still give them 5 stars.Thank you Chris for treating a woman (without back-up) fairly and with such respect. I look forward to doing future business with them.
Had a phenomenal experience with leasing a new Mazda 3 with Ernie. He didn t try to push me to something else and everything was super quick and efficient. Shopped around at several other dealerships and they said they don t know how they were able to offer us the deal we received.
I brought my car on a Friday without an appointment and Philip said that he would get me in. My car was doing some bizarre things, so I knew the electrical system was involved. I have a private mechanic who specializes in Mazdas, but he knew that the issue I had would need to be rectified at a dealership. He recommended Jim Ellis Mazda, stating he had worked with them for years. (parts, etc). Fast forward, they identified the problem pretty quickly and had me on my way before the end of the day. The cost was lower than I expected. Philip was helpful and courteous and kept me informed throughout the day.
I do hear a weird noise when I go over bumps so I'll take it back to have them take a second look, but so far I have to say my experience has been positive.
5 stars for the Mazda service department coming to my house and driving my car back to the dealer to be repaired and then bringing it back to me. The porter left his loaner car at my house. The only request they did not fulfill was that the porter drive a Porsche 911 to my house and leave me the keys to it while my car was being repaired. Porsche 911 for a CX9. Fair trade right?
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Their staff is professional and the service is quick. I came in for service on an open recall. Everything was easy from scheduling the appointment and getting the repairs done. I definitely would recommend this business. They also let me know what upcoming maintenance my car would need. Customer for life.
I usually do not purchase cars at dealerships, mostly due to higher cost and frustrating sales experience in which the buyer feels like they are not in control.
The sales folks at Jim Ellis Mazda, especially Seth and Todd, completely changed my mind. At no time did I feel pressured or like they we being dishonest. They worked hard to find the exact vehicle to fit my budget and needs. Additionally, when installastion of an aftermarket backup camera was not to my standard they fixed it overnight and filled up the gas tank as compensation for our time.
I highly reccomend Jim Ellis Mazda or any of their other dealerships for a stress-free and customer service friendly car buying experience.
Brought my car to be serviced over at the dealership today and Phillip A. was a major help when I brought it in. Very polite, willing to work for me, and went the extra mile to earn this review. Thanks again, Phillip. I will definitely be back.
Just bought a CX-9 and had a great experience. Jeff is a great sales professional and a great person. You should buy a car from Jeff! He was not pushy at all and I never felt pressure to buy anything I didn't want to. Everyone there was extremely nice. I would go buy another car there.
Although, I did not purchase a vehicle through this dealership, I appreciate the follow up from Bruce Nakamura, who checked in periodically and kindly. Went with another purchase through different Jim Ellis brand, and Bruce followed up to congratulate me. Appreciate the personal touch!
This review is for the service department. I come here every 5k mile and have my car serviced with Refeal. Always perfect and on time. I would recommend it to any Mazda owner.
Jim Ellis Mazda Atlanta Service Department did an awesome job and addressed the concerns I wanted addressed when I brought the car in. They were friendly, efficient, and kept me abreast of what was going on with the car. Things that were needed were presented to me in writing as well as information concerning recalls on parts of my vehicle
I had a great overall experience at this dealership. I walked in and worked with Juan from the car browsing, to the negotiating, through the financing stages. He was professional, not at all pushy, was always available to answer any and all of my questions from the time I walked in the door to the time I drove off in my new Mazda 6 four days later, and just an all around nice dude. Thanks again Juan. Hope we can do business again down the road.
If I could give this place no stars I would. All I have been trying to do is get a battery for my car. But they tell me that I can't get a new battery unless I bring the car in. I can't bring the car in because the battery is dead. Everybody keeps telling me they are open at a different time and different information on the battery. Not happy. Save your money go somewhere else.
We had a problem with lost keys and the folks at Jim Ellis got the car towed, keys recut, and saved the day! The best service possible! Thank you Jim Ellis!
Our salesman Joseph was great and so was Kelley in finance thru the process. I just wish they team was on the same communication page. Mustafa was one of the rudest finance managers I have ever met via phone. If it was not for some members there we would have walked. This dealership needs some team building exercises and customer relations training
Came in for repairs and was very impressed by service. Friendly, helpful staff (interacted with Raphael). Cleaned my car for free which I did not expect. Highly recommend!
I recently purchased a car from this dealership and after working with several dealerships, this one was the best to work with. The associate we were working with, Courtney, was very helpful and worked with my budget. One of the managers, John, was also helpful when it came to options for financing my car. Overall, it was a good experience and I am very happy with my new car.
Thank you for identifying and fixing what was causing my oil leak after Hennessy screwed up. The service advisors were professional and courteous and I really appreciate the complimentary detailing.
My worst experience ever... I went for a recall there, and they just told me we don't have parts. When I asked them it's safe to drive, they said yes without looking at the car... I call the Mazda, and they told me the dealer should order the part before and in their first try dealer didn't answer their phone call, and they tried again to try to solve the problem... worst dealer ever
When looking for a third row SUV and considering all the luxury brands, for us nothing came close to the Mazda CX-9 Signature in overall value, drive, quality, and equipment. So much packed into this amazing vehicle, this Mazda is where quality meets value....and of course got to have the ZOOM....ZOOOM, this larger SUV moves and feels like a much smaller and sporty car.
So after extensive research and test driving most of the competition this was the perfect vehicle for us to fit our budget and needs. We ran our very specific search of a 1 year old, 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature, (within a 200 mile radius) for weeks and there was nothing that even came close to the prices offered at Jim Ellis Mazda Atlanta!
If you are looking for a new vehicle, even if at the luxury brand level, the new Mazda line up should be in your consideration; and Jim Ellis Mazda is the only place to go and get it! New or used Mazda Certified vehicles....zoooommmm zooommmmm
So i like my Cx5. after a few issues and a long process with mazda, I've settled into my car and wouldn't want any other car. This dealership though is less than stellar. When i was having issues with my car, working with Mazda usa and this dealership was painful. Communication was usually bad. I found myself having to remind the front office people about what i was there for as if no one had a record of anything. Multiple times showing up after being scheduled just to be told i didn't need to come in. There's been alot of issues. I've stopped going back for oil changes and maintenance, instead going to other places where i can at least find better customer service. I bought my car in 2017 and i didn't really want to write this review. Overall i enjoyed buying my car, Ernie was great at selling. But the dealership overall has been difficult. I would also say that i was told at purchase that upgrading to Android Auto would be free via download. It costs upwards of $400 now. At the very least i find that deceptive.
The dealership was very courteous and attentive. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and the rep went over what I was there for and gave me an estimate of how long my wait would be. My vehicle was ready within the estimated time. They even provided a really good courtesy car wash.
Phenomenal experience. Courtney and Todd were both so helpful. They spent time with me, really listened to me, worked within my budget and helped me find the car that was best for me. I have been to a number of dealerships in the area and haven't always had a good experience. Jim Ellis Mazda gave me an entirely different feeling. So glad this is where I finally chose to buy my car.
Went for parts for my 91 Miata and they had just what I needed. Parts and service people were very nice and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend Jim Ellis mazda for new parts.
As a first time Mazda owner, and placed in an unexpected situation (my previous car was totaled), I was so overwhelmed by how helpful and genuine our salesman Ernie was. I felt like my dad was trying to help me purchase the car and make sure I was treated well and got the best deal. He worked really hard to get me exactly what I had wanted. He went above and beyond. He was incredibly knowledgeable and so kind. I did feel pressured by their finance manager when it came to discussing extended warranties, but that was a small part of the experience and Ernie more than made up for it. I definitely trust this dealer, which isn t typically a word that first comes to mind when thinking about buying a car! Overall so pleased with the whole experience and absolutely in love with my new car!
Went to look at at a mazda cx-5. The salesman (Jeff, I believe) told me that if i wasn't sure I wanted to buy one then he wasn't going to take the time to show me the car. He unlocked the SUV for me and left. Didn't even turn the car on for me, walk through the features, or offer a test drive. So, if you are car shopping and DEFINITELY know you want the car even before looking at it this is the place for you. I ended up buying an SUV from another brand because they actually cared. Most of the other dealers I visited were great. Not this one..
Brian Weeks has been the best in helping me buy my 2nd car from Jim Ellis Mazda. Brian made my family feel comfortable with this process. He went above and beyond what he said he would do. He has followed up with me multiple times to make sure we were happy and that the car met our expectations!!! Thank you Brian for making my son a memory that was priceless!!! Sean
Every time I go into my Mazda dealer, Rafael is always the sweetest. He has amazing customer service and is not hard to talk to. Thanks for fitting me in on Saturday after I was late to my appt! Blessings to you!
Okay service. Not the most friendly staff. Not sure why they couldn't patch my tire after they spent so much time trying find the pin hole. They didn't bother providing an explanation. Took too long (hour and a half) to install the new tire when they weren't even busy.
The saying "Patience is a Virtue" could not be more on point when dealing with auto repairs. I've always been taken care of well at Jim Ellis Mazda. The service team is great, the salespeople are trustworthy, and the staff are nice. They do the best they can to do it right the first time and when it isn't they work with you to get it right. Shout out to Rafael in Service. He's great. Thanks!
Bought my Mazda here and service it with these guys. Sales dept is okay. Service is always good, quick and of quality work. Pricing is right and they don't make the repair unnecessarily big. they have loaner(I think if they had ur car more than a day) and shuttle services. It is always a pleasant experience servicing my Mazda.
This was the first dealership i went to. I was in sales so i did shop around. And even after going to three more dealerships i came back. I came back because of Chris Bennett. He was great! I knew exactly what i wanted color trim and all. Had a valued trade in and he beat my expectations on its worth. Though, i was disappointed when i was not able to afford it, but he showed me every option available outside even sitting at his desk to look at the online inventory and he pulled every car i wanted to see. But was very realistic to my needs and budget. I wanted the 17 Grand Touring, even on our test drive he told me all of the pro's but did something that reminded me of myself in sales afterwards, he asked me but is this feature worth it? Do you have to have it, if so by all means. But if not go for what makes you happy and whats reasonable. For that reason, he was not a salesman but a person and was a consumer himself. You buy from who you trust. Chris Bennett went out of his way to put me in the car I love that also fit my budget!! I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone !
Was a quick and easy process purchasing another vehicle from the team at Jim Ellis. All of our negotiations were done prior to visiting the dealership and they were able to get us through the purchase process quickly and efficiently. Everyone we worked with was very friendly and personable throughout the entire experience. Would recommend them to anyone is the market for a new car!
I try to give mechanics the benefit of the doubt, but today was my second issue with them. I brought my car in so they could fix the trunk lever. They fix it and when I'm about to leave, I notice that the backup camera is no longer working. The backup camera was working perfectly fine before I brought it in. They claimed that they did nothing wrong, even though it was working beforehand. On my first encounter with them, they put new brakes on my car. Within the week, my brakes malfunctioned and I had to be towed back there. I'm not sure if I'm getting the wrong mechanic every time, but one time is an accident, twice is a trend. The customer service is fine, but I just can't trust this place with my car anymore
These guys were very honest with us. Pep boys claimed we needed a new alternator so brought it to Jim Ellis...they tested it and said nope it s fine and didn t even charge for the diagnostic. They totally could have sold us $1000 repair we believed we needed but they didn t. Usually I m not a fan of dealership service centers but these guys are changing my mind!!!!
I really liked this place. You can tell the sales people try really hard to make it a good experience. I didn't end up buying a car here but I'd recommend this location to anyone who had their heart set on a Mazda.
I had a good experience buying a Mazda3 last year. They gave me decent offer on my trade in, and they handled an issue with the previous owner owing taxes fairly quickly.
Excellent service! Ed worked hard to choose the right car for me. I am thoroughly satisfied. I would refer any friend to Jim Ellis Mazda. Ed and Jim Ellis Mazda exceeded my expectations.
Rafael in the service department goes above and beyond for his customers. The courtesy shuttle is a wonderful convenience while having service performed on your vehicle. Everyone you encounter from sales to service is outstanding. Highly recommend any of the Jim Ellis dealerships in Atlanta but the Mazda store really stands out!
I had my car towed to this dealership 2 weeks ago almost to get a simple key remade and possibly have a couple repairs. I have not seen my vehicle or talked to any associate ever since. I've called twice Daily and can only seem to leave messages with people who will have somebody else get back to me about whether my car is even there. I work 60 hours a week and the check in process clearly never took place and according to the tow driver he was instructed to place my car in a random place and now nobody seems to have ever heard of my 2012 mazda. I'm very dissatisfied at this point and wouldn't recommend extreme emergency situations be handled here.
This is my 7th Mazda new vehicle purchase, my 1st at Jim Ellis Mazda and by far the best experience yet. My salesperson Rochelle provided excellent service throughout email communication, my time at the dealership and even days after my purchase. She was very professional, knowledgeable and quite pleasant throughout the entire process. I will not hesitate to use Jim Ellis for my future service needs. Thank you Rochelle!
Jim Ellis Mazda is simply the best dealership I have ever worked with and I am 70 years old! Rafael Mateo listened patiently and solved an electrical problem our CX-5 had been experiencing since February. I would recommend Jim Ellis to anyone!
The car deals are pretty good but I always seem to spend hours in this place for seemingly no reason. I've purchased 2 cars now and both times spent a minimum of 4 hours there. The service department has dramatically improved since the new management took over but I have resorted to leaving my car there for the day and picking it up when they call because the time can vary wildly.
Really love working with the people at Jim Ellis Mazda. Lisa, in particular, did a great job from start to finish. Went in for an oil change on my 2013 CX-5, ended up leasing a new 2015 Mazda3 for LESS money a month and NOTHING out of pocket. Probably wouldn't have made the switch without her efforts.
I just wanna say thanks to my buddy Jose R. I walked in to browse there inventory and he recommended me the perfect car for me and my family. Guided me through all the steps for a first time buyer. He was very professional to answering all my questions and concerns. I just wanna say thank you Jose R, for your time. Looking forward making business with you soon.
Learn from my mistakes do not get your car serviced here.
Firstly they broke my car key fob and instead of offering a free replacement they gave me tape to keep it together and prices for a new key.
Secondly I spent $1900+ because my car was making weird clanking sounds while shifting. They never managed to fix the problem and after all that I took it elsewhere that found the problem to be lose motor mounts total cost of repair $200. In addition to that the mechanic that actually fixed the issue said a lot of things had been left lose by whoever worked on my car last !!
I know the PR reps of Jim Ellis will most certainly respond to this review and deny that any of this ever happened.
A great experience from start to finish. Both Derrick Lampkin and Michael Cook were easy to work with, extremely helpful and did not try any of the pressure tactics, or bait and switch that you see at so many other dealers. I highly recommend both of them if you happen to be looking for a new Mazda.
The parts department is top notch. I ordered some hard to find parts for my Mazdaspeed Miata and they had them delivered very promptly. Andres was very good with handling my order. I would definitely use them to order any Mazda genuine products in the future
Our salesman, Jose, was great. I bought a new Mazda3 from him and he was very knowledgeable and patient with me. I never felt any pressure from him compared to other salesman. Due to the shelter in place order, I asked him if we could do as much as possible over the phone and he was very accommodating
I came into the service center without any appointment as my car was on the brink of breaking down in rush hour traffic. The service advisor Rafael Mateo was quick, friendly and even went out of his way to get me into a loaner vehicle and home safely. Highly recommend, outstanding service!
Great customer service. Definitely recommend Brian. Be careful, they do not explain things clearly during the signing process but go out of their way to rectify any issues. I do wish they would learn to call back faster.
love love love. everyone that works here is really nice and helpful and the sales associates are also really great, they all helped me a lot with purchasing a lease for my 2019 cx3 (that i love) and they all took very special care of me and broke down everything I needed to know when it comes to this pretty big purchase. special s/o to seth, brian, and mike they are the best. Will def be recommending them to others and will be back to lease my next vehicle!
Jim Ellis Mazda has excellent customer service! I ve had my Mazda for 2 years now and any issues I may have had the service advisor Phillip has helped me every single time. The wait time for an oil change or service repair is quick as well; if they cannot get you out quickly usually you can schedule to have a car drop you off or a loaner car. I highly recommend this dealership, they really do care about your vehicle and providing excellent customer service.
The service department is wonderful. They are always respectful of my time, and make getting service on my car a breeze. I always feel like I am getting high quality service while not being pressured into unnecessary extras.
The service at this dealership was outstanding. We leased our Mazda 6 from a dealer in Gwinnett as we were living there at the time. We continued to travel north to that dealership for servicing even after moving into DeKalb. Just a habit. However, for this regular service appointment, time constraints had us make an appointment at the Jim Ellis on Peachtree. I am so glad we did. The service dept. was friendly, prompt and expedient, and my car was returned to me looking better than it did when I arrived! We will definitely return.
Worst experience ever! Apparently people in finance department didn't seem to know much about the requirements for 0% APR national offer! would NEVER recommend it!!!
Excellent Customer Service is the team not turning me away, or even blinking an eye when I showed up a week earlier than my scheduled appointment (which I figured out just now after getting multiple automated reminders of my upcoming appointment today). They never said a thing to correct me or pat themselves on the back for working me in. I just blithely went about my day thinking I was there as scheduled. I'm grateful for their accommodation, their professionalism, and their trustworthy service.
I brought my Mazda2 into the service center after having two struts replaced at Tire Engineers on Howell Mill did not fix clunking and rattling sounds coming from the driver side wheel and steering column (and seemed to make them worse). They did a thorough investigation to find the problem and discovered loose bolts on both the struts I had replaced at Tire Engineers. Tightening them and lubricating the steering solved the issue! I worked with Rafael and he was polite and helpful. I would bring my car back in the future!
Visited Jim Ellis Mazda yesterday and must acknowledge Service Advisor, Richakna Truong - professional, approachable and completely changed my memory of my last experience there years ago. Best of 2020 to you and yours!
Worst dealer which I've been. The manager tried to force customer pay at his price. He doesn't care about customer opinion but how they lose money. The car is previous model of havelast year and the promotion from the factory so I don't understand why he always say like the dealer as a victim. I deal with many dealer's managers but this one is the most unrespectful manager.
Had the worst experience at this dealership. Bought a brand new Mazda 6 from them and not a week later did I have issues with the car. The FM radio gets crackles of static on every station. I took the car in and they said it was 'working as More
The dealership itself is ok, but the vehicles and the follow-up service is terrible. Rude employees (that oftentimes can't even find the problem with the car), overpriced work and parts (wanted to charge $55 for a part that I went and purchased for $10), and no sense of professionalism. I won't be back and I definitely do not recommend.
This February I decided it was time for a new car. I had an Infiniti G35 coupe that was almost 16 years old. I had done my homework by researching the web and knew I wanted to check out Mazda, Honda and Subaru. I decided to visit Mazda first. As I approached the front door Brian Weeks was standing outside and asked if he could help. I shared that I was looking for an SUV and wanted something that would give me the pick-up to merge onto highways. Then Brian, took if from there. He is an excellent listener and is not pushy. He showed me some cars, we narrowed it down to a CX-5 and test drove it. Then we came back to the office and negotiated and agreed price. It was all very comfortable and respectful. He was very open to any questions and could answer every one. No need for me to visit Honda or Subaru. I picked up my new car a week later. My partner was with me, and when we picked up my car, my partner bought a Mazda from Brian too. We liked Brian and I would recommend him to my friends and relatives.
Can't say enough about their service. I had a Lexus SUV for 10 years, and reluctantly purchased a Mazda CX9 because I wanted an affordable 3rd row. I was so sad leaving my Lexus service. But I have to say, 7 years into owning my CX9, I am thrilled with my service. Rafael is my man! He always takes care of me. And we are looking for a Mazda 3 for my daughter, and he is taking care of her too - ensuring she will be safe in what we buy! Thank you Jim Ellis Mazda! And thank you even more, Rafael!!!
Love, Love the Service Dept. The employees are incredibly nice and friendly. The $ are expensive but so are all Dealership Service Dept's. I'm a loyal 15yr customer and will continue going.
I highly recommend this dealership! Not only was Rochelle, our sales consultant extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but Chuck, the Pre-Owned sales manager, made buying our second car in a month quick and easy. (We had previously bought a 2016 Mazda3 for our daughter about a month ago from Jim Ellis Mazda. Unfortunately, she was slammed into from behind and her car was deemed a total loss. We hadn't even made the 1st payment!) I feel like we got a great car at a very fair price.
I was shopping around for a Mazda 6 and got paired up with a certain salesperson I won't name. He was amicable at first. I got a quote from them and looked around at other dealerships to see if I could get a better deal. I got a call back from Ed and I had to refresh him on all prior correspondences (he actually thought I was another customer for 10 minutes on one call), not only was he disorganized but he got offended when I told him other dealerships beat out their quote, he became very snarky and rude and I ended up having to hang up on him. Do yourself a favor and go to Mazda of Roswell or Jim Ellis of Marietta, they are much more professional, transparent, freindlier, and reasonable.
Despite loving my new Mazda3, this first-time car buying experience with Mazda at Chamblee has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. After ensuring that everything was taken care of for my trade-in car, I get multiple calls stating that my trade-in was done incorrectly and I had to go back and forth to the dealership and to my tag office to get things straightened out that should have been taken care of the first time. I was told numerous times that they had everything that they needed but then received more phone calls that I again needed to come in asap to complete more paperwork. After all of that was FINALLY resolved, my tag and title was never delivered due to them sending it to an incomplete address and was reported "lost or stolen." I am now with an expired temporary tag and have to make ANOTHER unnecessary trip to the tag office because this dealership didn't do what they were supposed to. Buying a new car should not have been stressful and frustrating over the course of 2 months!
I contacted the Jim Ellis Service department regarding an issue with the Mazda Connect information system in my CX-9. Rafael was very prompt and courteous in the scheduling my appointment, greeting me upon my arrival and having my vehicle quickly repaired. Also, thanks for the wash.
I hate car shopping, but when our 2006 Ford Explorer engine blew we had no choice. We narrowed our search down to Subaru and to Mazda and went to a a handful of dealers. My experience at Jim Ellis Mazda was by far the best EVER. From are sales experience to the finance it all went smooth and me and my husband both walked out with a smile. Shot out to our sales manager Jeff Barrett and finance manager Luke. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Finance manager was very rude to me and my wife. I will definitely continue driving Mazda but not Jim Ellis vehicles... personally, car is great and my salesman was fairly accurate.
Just left the Fiat dealer and wanted to test drive the Miata for comparison. While I was test driving, a sales manager walked up to my husband and greeted him with what do YOU need? He explained that he was waiting for me and she said oh. Has anyone waited on you yet? A few minutes later a different employee circled around him, eyed him up and down but didn t speak to him and went inside. RUDE and CURT. We won t be doing business here.
My husband and I have a great experience working with Jim Ellis during our purchase of our new 2016 Mazda CX-5. Chris was a pleasure to work and made our experience at Jim Ellis very comfortable. Thank you Chris for your hard work!
The sales team at Jim Ellis Mazda Atlanta(Chamblee) was outstanding. The expert I worked with while test driving and purchasing my Mazda was low-pressure and honest. He was respectful the entire time and all the staff I encountered while there was the same. We agreed on price very quickly without any messing around. Dealing with the finance manager was a pleasant experience, as well. I drove away in a new car feeling good about the price I paid and my overall experience.
Had my first experience buying a car here. Our representative, Ed Johnson, was fantastic! Extremely friendly and helpful. He helped us get exactly what we were looking for and was able to meet some of our requests. Very pleased with the car and the process. Ask for Ed!
These guys charge more than dealer suggested price on all parts. Don t believe me call and compare to Rick Case. This dealer scams you. Beware! They call it additional dealer profit!
