Nestled in the hills of Oro Valley this is the perfect place to escape for a weekend retreat.
Friendly Staff, clean rooms with an amazing View all at a good price.
We came here for an anniversary weekend. We understood that there would be no services available at the hotel because of the virus. This is completely accurate although it's interesting that restaurants in the city are now open to dine in. We were not offered any kind of reduced rate or upgrades because of the reduced service. We were told the "resort fee" would not be added. That's nice since there are no resort things open. To top this all off, this afternoon I took one beer in hand and sat down in the pool area. I was the only one anywhere there and in fact I may be the only guest here currently. One of the hotel staff came out to tell me the rules which included no outside beverages and the pool was closed. My advise, do not stay at this facility until the state of AZ opens up completely. It is a huge waste of money.
The resort was not bad itself, however trying to get a call back from management is a nightmare. We were charged an extra$271 for a smoking fee, but there were no no smoking signs on our patio. We did not smoke in our room. They said it was on our reservation we made, but our distributor made the reservations, and we were not informed of these rules/regulation as we did not make the reservation. There were also employees who saw us and never said a word about it when we were on our patio. I have called 3 times, and have not gotten a call back or any answers. I feel this is a very sneaky way for them to line their pockets some more like my $5 can of soda.
The facility is top knotch! Only opportunity we noted is the need for additional guest parking.
My family had an incredible experience here. I highly recommend this property.
I am thankful for the assistance from Tori, Claudia and front desk clerks while checking in for a very important weekend. They helped me arrange a nice surprise for my Mom and Dad. Great customer service is always appreciated!
We were there during a rare snowfall. We didn't spend much time at the resort because we were in town to see family, but everyone was very nice and friendly. Our room was spacious as well.
Housekeeping is very polite but as far as the front desk they think they own the joint with there attitude. The first guy that checked is in had an attitude like we weren't high class enough to be there while arguing with my wife about the room she booked not knowing she had already talked to someone on the phone earlier that day. Then we were sitting on the outside balcony smoking a cigarette and one of the girls from the front desk come out and rudely told us that we weren't allowed to smoke there and said there was a designated smoking section which i believe was because the people under us complained and I understand that is the rule but there was no need in saying it with an attitude like I was smoking inside or something. And then as we're walking back to our room after smoking in the designated smoking area that had no signs telling you that was what it was and no seats to sit in there was dog poop in our hallway so after my wife tried several times to call the front desk I had to walk down there because they had a phone off the hook and when they come to clean it up they just picked it up and didn't even clean the carpet with anything so I didn't feel to great about walking around the room barefooted knowing how they clean stuff up off the carpet not that I make it a habit to walk on motel carpet with my bare feet but I just felt that much more cautious about it.
Everything about the El Conquistador is top notch. I love this place, the location, the staff, the food . . . Everything. No better place to stay in Tucson!
They host an annual Chamber of Commerce mixer. Nice food, good venue. Fantastic resort and hotel accommodations.
Attended a Bridal Show there, beautiful ground and amazing view of the mountains
If you want to go to a "Hotel" that treats the guests as a "convict" stay here. Security is "overzealous"! They ruined a 30 year high school reunion for me and my friends. After bringing it to the attention of management. They decided to listen to security instead of the customer.
I don't know what it was about my last stay here but I was far from impressed or really happy or comfortable there. We went to the pool and then went home it wasn't anything like the stays I've have before the covid19 outbreak. I hope to see much better on my next trip.
Try changing the name guys.... naming your club after genocidal conquerors? Let s update this...
Staff is friendly and courteous. Views are fantastic. Close to everything Tucson has to offer.
The appearance is much more luxurious than the actual accommodations. Nice setting and helpful staff.
The most beautiful place in the deserts day or night
Just what to expect in Tucson. The rooms are out dated old AC. The only good thing is the pool
The food and drinks were acceptable, but expensive. Nice atmosphere when sitting outside. Our server treated us very well; the service deserves five stars.
Nice location. Great for an extended stay conference. Seemed a little understaffed for having 400 people in residence. Limited menu in the one restaurant that was always open. The other choices were good but not open or fully staffed always.

"Noah and Johnny were truly wonderful in helping us with a family matter when it came to booking our rooms. Our family used this hotel for our wedding and we continue to come back because of the excellent service. Overall hotel was nice, staff was friendly, and the pool was great."
UPDATE: It has now been about a month from when we had to cancel one of our room reservation due to a medical emergency. " Keep in mind our party still kept several of our room reservations". We were told that the reservation was canceled and they understood because it was a medical emergency. Then we found out the room was charged anyway. We were then told that was the process and the money would be returned in 10-business from Kevin. We followed up with corporate today and NOTHING HAD BEEN PROCESSED. Then we were then told by corporate that we had to fill out different paperwork to get our refund.... Now I am not sure who to dropped the ball here, but has a customer that has been going to this hotel for years, had many family events, spent thousands of dollars and to be treated like this, is unacceptable! I will gladly update this review if anything changes, but for now our family will be finding other hotels for future events. I understand something things take time but we felt we were just being lied to.
Incredibly beautiful setting. Very relaxing atmosphere. The service is impressive!
A great place to stay with amazingly courteous staff!!
Incredible place to do Christmas feast!!! 5-star food and servers!!! Great lobby decorations!
My flight was delayed and they were very understanding and accommodated my schedule . The front desk staff professional and provided excellent service. Mount Lemmon is beautiful behind the El Conquistador. Rooms were nice and I enjoyed my stay.
I was here for a conference and found their meeting venue to be quite nice. The staff was courteous, and the food was good. It seemed to be well suited for small conferences.
If I could give this hotel a 0 I would. I am so incredibly disappointed with this hotel. My car was towed off of their property for apparently parking in a no parking zone. This was not indicated by the universal sign which is typically a no parking or a red curb. Instead there was a tiny red pole with a sign that indicated no golf carts beyond this point. I was never given a parking permit by the front desk so instead of being able to locate my to move my car which I would have been more than happy to do so..... I instead was towed.... without notice and then charged for 95.00 for being towed. Instead of the front desk and security being accommodating as I was a paying guest.... they instead were rude and I am still responsible for the 95.00.... I then was told they were doing me a favor by not having my take an Uber or Lyft to a completely different place such as a tow yard. The hotel manager was a joke and offered no assistance as he stated well I am sorry you feel that way . As a district employee who is responsible for booking travel accommodations and spends ton of money with the Hilton.... this hotel will not be receiving any of our business and as a person outside of a school district..... I will not be bringing my family to this resort or be spending my money here.
This is a beautiful resort in a more beautiful location. Staff were friendly & helpful. It's very spread out, so can be a challenge if you have mobility issues.
its a nice hotel the view of the mountain is awesome..but the rooms are not that different from any other hotel..in the rooms with two beds in them..THEY DO NOT HAVE MICROWAVES and the internet is not that great. the location of the hotel is far out..nothing close enough to walk to..have to drive to go anywhere. the food is a bit high priced and was not has great has i was hoping(thats to each own option though).
Love the Casita, the views, the pool etc. Very friendly.
My wife and I just stayed for 3 nights and the room was excellent, the staff was very professional and courteous. I would recommend this Hilton to anyone who wants a quiet and very clean room!!!
Very nice.place. the views are really beautiful. The bars and restaurants have a great selection of food and drink.
Day Bartender was confused and annoying. Night bartender was great and good at his job. Front desk took a long time to check in. We didnt get the proper upgraded rooms. Great resort and wonderful rooms
Beautiful hotel, tucked under the mountains. A little bit of a drive from downtown Tucson, but it's an easy straight shot. A lot of nice hiking trails are pretty close by, as well as tennis and golf.
Pretty great as always just a pitty about the restaurants and masks
High end resort. Everyone is very friendly and helpful . All the amenities. Top 3 resort in Tucson.
What a great property. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The entire place was clean and well maintained. The views of the Mountains around Tucson are fabulous and the onsite dining was great.
Went for a Holiday party. Food was awesome, rooms were nice. Beautiful water features
Went to a SAACA event and didn't see much of the resort but what we saw was beautiful.
Very beautiful views and amazing staff and the food is top notch!
The venue is gorgeous and I love the interior design. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Amazing!! Thank you Rob and team for redeeming Tucson for us, after being discriminated against for being gay at The Ritz. I wish we would have stayed at El Con for our entire stay. From the bottom of my heart- thank you for caring and doing what you could to make up for The Ritz horror. You made my birthday one to remember! Can t wait to return!
It was a very nice place. The air conditioner in the casitas were super loud.
Got an upgrade to a Casita near a Jacuzzi. My views outside the room truly epic and ooooh so relaxing. On site Mexican restaurant no Bueno. Breakfast is great and bar as well.
Went for a wedding very nice. Food very well prepared. View all beautiful
Beautiful views of the mountains from my room. Very clean and emaculate grounds.
Room are out dated the TV is old not even 1080p the only good thing is the pool
Five stars to the staff. Nice property. Great view. Good pools. Exceptional bedding. Only flaw, the doors on the room leave a small crack allowing sound from the hall to come in. Very small complaint though. The bedding beats other resorts in the area, so even though some may have a little nicer grounds, the Hilton wins.
Very updated and sleek. Lovely staff who helped put on a great conference
We travelled 3 hours to spend our anniversary weekend & Labor Day weekend with all of our kids. This was a cool place. We booked a villa through Groupon. I called the hotel directly and asked what type of room is a villa and how big is it. I was told it s 50% larger than a standard room and has the 2 queen beds and a couch, just not a pull out couch. I was also told it had a living room area. I said okay great. We get to the room and it is literally no different to a standard hotel room with no couch or living room. It had 2 beds and a desk/tv dresser.
The next time we were at the from desk I asked about the room and how it was described to me. She said you definitely got a standard room size. I don t know why they told you those things. I said well they did and it wasn t Groupon, it was this hotel.
It was at the end of the row of villas. Parking was a nightmare. We left to go to dinner and returned to the main parking lot full, the lot next to the villa full, so we had to park in the overflow lot across the street and up the hill. No easy way to access the parking lot.
Upon checkout, the lady asked how my stay was, I again described our disappointment in the room size. Her response was to complain to Expedia and ask for a refund. Well it wasn t Expedia or Groupon, it was this hotel who described the room before we came down.
All in all, I think we would stay here again. We would just make sure to get the right room size upon request.
Staff could not answer my questions regarding hotel resort fee and Hilton Gold tier benefits.
I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my high school reunion. Problems started right at start. In order to check in I had to park quite a ways from front door unless I want to use their parking service. The gir at desk was decent, check in went ok. The room was large, clean and quite nice with a good view of large very nice pool and center area.
The first morning I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. Not good at all.
That night we had a sit down dinner in Turquoise Room. The food was horrible. Salad was maybe 5 pieces of colored lettuce. Dinner was decent size piece of chicken, pretty dry but tasty, along with maybe the worst instant mashed potatoes I had since navy days. The stand up bar was very pricey, beer $6.50 and very limited alcohol choices, also expensive for low quality booze.
Check out went well and I left, never to return again.
Fabulous food for all of the convention events. Great food in the Colibri Lounge. Superb service everywhere. Grab&Go a bit pricey ($3 for bottle of diet coke). Room is just a hotel room. Nothing special about the room except the housekeeping that made sure it was immaculate & well stocked. Hard to find parking close enough to room or main area entrance. This was particularly hard for people with issues walking. Amazing views from the hotel lounge! Worth the stay? Almost a 5 star.
Room was nice the grounds are very nice. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant was very tasty but a little expensive $16 for a great burger and fries, $4 for a soda. All staff we came in contact with were excellent friendly, courteous and helpful.
