This was my second time staying here and I have to say that I really wasn't impressed with this resort. The main lobby is nice and the surrounding property was pretty, but my actual hotel room was not clean. There was mold in the bathroom shower, old pizza boxes under the beds and Lucky Charms cereal all over the floor. I was expecting a higher quality since this is a Hilton resort, but left severely underwhelmed.

This place is seriously gorgeous. Everything was up to the par that I would expect from Hilton then doubled to a resort standard. I didn't get a chance to get into the pool because I was here on business but it looked like a ton of fun. There were also some fun places to hangout in downtown Tucson with karaoke and outdoor venues.
I'm already making plans to come back here with my wife in our next vacation.

Management insisted that pool umbrellas be lowered as it was too windy for their use. I would agree that this was the case except that we were in a corner completely blocked off from the wind. They completely disregarded our request. Rooms are outdated and food at the restaurant as well as the bar was sub par and overpriced.

The recent renovations have resulted in very comfortable rooms with ungraded furnishings and paint. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food and service at Epazote was great. We will definitely stay here again.

I was unimpressed with this hotel when compared to Lowes Ventana and other venues in the Tucson area. When I learned that HSL purchased the hotel from Hilton it made sense that it had gone downhill from what I remember from years ago.

At the end of our California, Nevada and Arizona trip we stayed at the Hotel El Conquistador for three days.
A beautiful complex in a fantastic location, close to the mountains.
A great pool area is embedded in a garden.
In the evening, several fireplaces are lit, around which you can sit.
The room also gave no cause for complaint.
The entire staff was always friendly and very helpful.

Easy access from the highway, as you go in the lane you will be awestruck by the beautiful scene! Pools and hot tubs ae beautiful. Great service. Our niece had a suite. It is spacious, modern and clean. They even had a patio. We don't golf, so I can't tell you about that. The grounds are well planted and look beautifully natural to the surrounding nature.

Wonderful Tucson staycation! I surprised my husband with a little getaway and few months ago at the El Conquistador in Oro Valley, just north of Tucson. It was a simply wonderful. The staff was welcoming and the servers and bartender, Paloma, were awesome! We have been back since that first visit and I am sure we will be back again for the great atmosphere and amazing mountain views.
The first time we stayed was at the casitas village. Nice and quiet and a place for those who don't want to be as near to the main resort/hotel. A little more private for that real getaway. The second time we stayed was at the main part of the resort/hotel. We stayed in a junior suite and it was as nice as in the casitas village, just not as secluded. There are multiple pools and a great walk around the resort. I don't really think there is a bad view or room in the resort. There is a decent view from each room. The restaurants on the grounds are nice and have a pretty good selection. Not once did we have or want to leave the resort for the three days we stayed each time.
If you are from Tucson or the surrounding areas, and want a staycation or if you are from out of state, definitely give the El Conquistador a try, we highly recommend it and will be returning ourselves.

To say that I am disappointed with this hotel would be an understatement. There were a few major screw ups and when bringing it to the managers attention, I get no response. I emailed all my points of contact from the hotel and their general manager. Not one person responded.

Average hotel even though it s a Hilton. Definitely not worth the drive we took all the way from Phoenix. When we go there, there was a lot of construction and go lost going to our room. Once we finally got to our room. It seemed like an average hotel room. The bathroom was updated but the water was either too hot or too cold. The balcony was very tiny and could barely fit the patio furniture that was already on it. We didn t have a good view of the mountain. The ballrooms were also average. Once we finally got to the ballroom and found our seats, we went and got food. The food that they served was pretty good. Our drinks had barely any alcohol in it and they only allowed us to have 2 drinks. Wouldn t really recommend this hotel if you want a real Hilton!

Stayed at this resort for 4 nights during the Tucson gem show. It started out okay, my room seemed clean , was nice. I was awoke a few times by a cricket. Next day I cam back from show, cricket getting bolder. the next morning I noticed they hadn t replaced the empty shampoo & cream cream rinse, hadn t replaced coffee pods, or bag for bucket, i think they only made the bed. The last night I was fed up with cricket, turns out there was an infestation, they were hiding behind the curtains. The nice guy who showed up caught 10 when I said I am moving !! There were little ones jumping under my bed as he tried to catch them! So finally got another room. Overall, tiring experience and obviously the housekeeping not doing their job.
The manager cancelled my $10 per day resort fee ($40 total)/ woohoo _ I didn t think it was nearly sufficient!

We knew it was going to be a rough weekend because...

We knew it was going to be a rough weekend because it was the Fourth of July weekend. This was going to be our first time at the resort. When we first got there we were excited to see what was going to be happening and we were told to check out the main restaurant for lunch, Epazote, to our disappointment it was only open for dinner. Instead we had lunch at the Sundance Cafe, we would rate this restaurant was extremely mediocre to poor. The over sized leather chairs were cold and to large for most people to sit comfortably in them. My husband got the BBQ sandwich and upgraded fries to the queso fries, which was basically overcooked shredded cheese on top of fries, I got the chicken wrap, flavor was fine for this and the sandwich but nothing memorable. We went to check in and the line was almost out the door, we expected this. The women running the concierge desk were handing out papers to everyone waiting in line. One of them started asking people questions about their reservations and was basically becoming a "Debbie downer" explain to every other group why they would have complications with their reservation.... Really?! Why can't you help solve the problem instead of telling them whats wrong with there reservation. You're working for a hotel, you're selling a memory, not this, like what we have. Again not the front desk people the Concierge women were doing this. Then we got to meet, what seemed like the General Manager, he was very nice but I thought his time could have been better used getting people checked in, not offering a bottle of water, this is what your concierge women should have been doing, offering water instead of "finding problems". We get to our room and its a nice room with a view, but the whole room was dusty, looked like it hadn't been dusted in months. We had asked them to for Fuji waters and some fresh fruit upon arrival in our room and those were no where in sight, I even have a confirmation number for these that were not provided, I'm just happy that they didn't charge me for these items. The main pools were covered with people, so we headed down to the 16+ (which was advertised in the pamphlet they gave us). When we arrived at the small pool, we couldn't get in, the guy told us that we needed a special key but he let us in anyway, one of the few thankful things we came across, because now we didn't have to climb the half Tumamoc hill near the pool. This pool was over using chlorine we knew this because our eyes were hurting until Sunday night (over 24 hours) and we were only in there from 5-6pm, and this pool had no towels, we had to air dry, which was tough because there was no sun out at this point, 30 minutes later we were all still very soaked. The pool was fantastic otherwise, loved the little crowd down there with little to no kids, it was peaceful. We had left for a little bit and upon arriving back there was a chaos of people and children, no one conducting traffic, people in the middle of the road, all heading down to where the fireworks were going to happen and because of this chaos, we almost hit a toddler. From about 8pm - 8am everything else was fine, it was quiet when it was supposed to and the fireworks display was fantastic!! The next morning though.... we woke up and we were covered with BED BUG BITES!!!!! I didn't bring anything up with the management when we checked out because at this point we were so fed up, we just wanted to be home. At this point we would have much rather stayed at La Paloma and watch the very lame laser light show if it meant no bed bugs and towels while swimming. El Conquistador, you almost had us with the fantastic fireworks show but the fact that your beds have bed bugs makes me NEVER want be there again. Oh and I forgot to add the ice machines in Building 2 were all broken, no ice and they had a nice convenient (for them) sign that said, "Need ice?? for $3 we'll bring you a 10lb bag!" We said Screw them, because it just seemed like they purposly did that, so we went and got a bag from the nearest gas station, because we were done giving $$ to them.

Beautiful mountain views, peaceful pool and lounge areas. Rooms were clean, guests were generally quiet. Some rooms have HVAC issues, which caused unacceptable noise at night when heat was in use by surrounding rooms (we switched rooms twice!). Despite the resort name, the hotel no longer owns the tennis or golf course! Had to pay fee to use tennis courts, despite website that clearly indicated this was included in the resort fee. We were issued resort fee refunds after complaining. Staff was very accommodating to our complaints, which made our stay acceptable and overall an enjoyable one. The staff seems to be in transition since many were admittedly new and could not answer some basic questions, but were always willing to find the answers.

Rooms are nice but the real thing that makes this resort great is the views. It is placed right in front of a mountain and provides an amazing view of the Arizona landscape. This resort also provides many possibilities for activities that include hiking, horseback riding, tennis and golf.

There is both so much and so little to say about this INCREDIBLE hotel and resort. It is simply breathtaking. Everything is here is done with flare, respect and dignity. If your budget allows it, you owe it to yourself to come and enjoy.

Stayed in a large room with a King sized bed. Room has a large screen TV, mini fridge and 2-cup coffee maker with a balcony. The desk and chair is awesome to work at and everything in the room is comfy. The staff is super nice and everyday my room is like new. It's a very wonderful experience to have had.

Very nice grounds, rooms are beautiful, but I stayed in one of the townhouses and the walls are a bit thin. My view was of a sand hill 3 feet from the patio door, so I barely had a view. Breakfast not included, for $307 I wouldn't go back. I would have stayed at a Hampton, but they were all sold out.

Poor service. Horrible food. Had to complain to get room cleaned after 5 days. They blamed Covid. No working ice machines. Paid $30.00 for a prime rib dinner. Meat was tough. Mash potatoes were lumpy.
The waitress was nice. When talking to front desk was told we could check out and go elsewhere. Beautiful place but awful attitude of employees made for a bad experience.

Very nice environment, clean room, excellent service, beautiful setting, good food, and reasonable price considering all things. Yes, more than a local hotel, but not by much, and so much better experience. Exceeded my expectations and I would stay here again when in the area.

Our room was dirty, they comped us breakfast, breakfast had great service but it was nothing more than an upgraded continental breakfast with an omlet bar. There was a hole in the wall behind the curtains and the sliding door didn't work very well and kept jumping off it's track. There were dead bugs outside the exterior door, cobwebs over the door to our room. It was a 3 star room in a 5 star priced hotel.

My boyfriend, and I stayed at the hotel memorial weekend the hotel is breath taking Extremely beautiful! The Catalina mountains views are beautiful, the resort was well maintained, room service was also amazing you can tell they go above and beyond. When we first walked in we were greeted by Gwyen Raamat who checked us in, she s was amazing from her beautiful spirit, and excellent customer service, she went over all the amenities of the hotel, the restaurants and times of all the events that were taking place over the weekend. She really took care of us during our stay we really appreciate her making our stay that much more amazing also going above and beyond!

Beautiful hotel located on spacious grounds in the north suburbs of Tucson. Got a great "Diamond" upgrade to a suite. There is no Concierge Lounge, but they offer a full breakfast buffet for Elite guests in their dining room. My only complaint was the water faucets in the public restrooms. The sensors for both the water and soap were barely working. I got some printer ink on my hands and I had to fight to get enough soap and water to wash it off.

Visiting from out of state. The property is beautiful and I really enjoyed how relaxing it is to just walk around on the paths.
However, the cleanliness is subpar, especially considering this being a Hilton resort. The hallway of my room had a very bad odor... think of a mixture of sewage and boiled eggs. One end of the hallway was pretty bad, the other end you can tell they tried to mask it with some febreeze or aerosol spray. I had to keep the AC in the room running to keep it from coming in. Also found a half-eaten mint Oreo under the TV.. carpets are old, furniture dated.
Staff are friendly though.
