Essential stop every Sunday. Of course, please have empathy with the sellers and do not come with 50 bills because they do not always have change. I work there and few people understand that we are a thousand things.

A huge market on the streets of central Madrid. I didn't really enjoy it as it was quite chaotic. The main articles there were clothes for tourists and junk from peoples homes. If you're on a tight schedule while visiting Madrid then I would recommend skipping El Rastro..

Very big flea market where some people sell stuff from their homes but mostly it's sellers that sell cheaply produced articles. Still it's nice to have a look and sometimes you can still find something nice. Went on a public holiday, very crowded.

A place to go, if you are not from Madrid and you do not know it and where to go if you are from the forum. There are few sites that meet the necessary requirements to spend a couple of hours. Nice to experience and very busy but a lot of the same so the entire rastro is only done if you are bored.

Small workshops are located right on the street. A lot of leather, metal, etc. Antique shops.

Don't loose your time here. Too crowded, with products that are not local anymore, a lot of China products, and the worst: they are not kind. If you take too long looking at something, they ask if you're gonna buy it or not, otherwise, go away and let other people come forward?!

Definitely place where to be while visiting Madrid. The vibe of multicultural.

Great... defiantly worth a stop. lots to see and buy... many side streets. The main street is tree lined so your not on the direct sun the whole time. Also many shops asking the street.

One of the largest antique fairs I've ever visited. I recommend!

I love the Trail, once a month I approach to see if I find any vintage object to decorate at home or even to restore. Of course, it is better to go very early, but it is impossible to see anything with so many people.

El Rastro it's Madrid's famous Flea market. Something really unique to do on holidays and weekly, every Sunday is to take a stroll around the Rastro which occupies a fairly large area (several blocks and streets on parallel to Toledo Street. It's best to get there no later than 12noon as all vendors are required to shut down by 2PM and it can take several hours to walk the entire area.

One very important detail: Beware of pickpockets everywhere and anywhere during your Madrid stay but especially in crowded areas like El Rastro Flea Market

Don't do your shopping for souvenirs or friends until you go to this market! There is plenty of eating and gift purchases you can make. Market is very busy hundreds of stalls selling clothes.

An event in the capital, the essence of Madrid, a must for everyone.

Crowded yes. BUT this is a really nice place if you are looking to buy something in specific or "window shopping". The restaurants in the area have always very tasty food with good prices.

Overcrowding, gentrification and paleto and uncontrolled tourism are loading one of the last charming downtown neighborhoods.

More design shops than ever, art galleries, antique business and a lot more.

Giant market with many stalls and excellent for tourism.

I am in love with this charming place where there are. Essential in Madrid, for locals and visitors. The best, its old shop, where you can still find jewelry.
