Colorful, lively, interesting! You can find everything, but really everything!
It is advisable to visit it a little early, I would say around 9 in the morning, because then it becomes too crowded and you cannot freely observe the stalls!

If you have ever been to a market then multiply it by 1000 and then it just might be the size of this market in Madrid. From antiques to hand crafted leather items to buckets of screws to everything imaginable . What a market

Essential stop every Sunday. Of course, please have empathy with the sellers and do not come with 50 bills because they do not always have change. I work there and few people understand that we are a thousand things.

A huge market on the streets of central Madrid. I didn't really enjoy it as it was quite chaotic. The main articles there were clothes for tourists and junk from peoples homes. If you're on a tight schedule while visiting Madrid then I would recommend skipping El Rastro..

Very big flea market where some people sell stuff from their homes but mostly it's sellers that sell cheaply produced articles. Still it's nice to have a look and sometimes you can still find something nice. Went on a public holiday, very crowded.

A place to go, if you are not from Madrid and you ...

A place to go, if you are not from Madrid and you do not know it and where to go if you are from the forum. There are few sites that meet the necessary requirements to spend a couple of hours. From the breakfast that needs to be done there, to the appetizer. For this last, and without detracting from the rest, we recommend the pigeon, bar that is in the street of Toledo, very close to the Latin metro. I guarantee that whoever repeats, without exception.

Nice market place and you can spend a couple of hours. Start early around 9 as it really gets crowded later on and you have to find place to walk. If you research and be patient, you can find some really cool deals.

To visit absolutely .... !!!
It is in the La Latina district, the oldest in the city, that there are beautiful buildings and characteristic shops.
The market is large and picturesque, interesting to buy original objects.
To be seen

Don't loose your time here. Too crowded, with products that are not local anymore, a lot of China products, and the worst: they are not kind. If you take too long looking at something, they ask if you're gonna buy it or not, otherwise, go away and let other people come forward?!

It is always worth visiting and entering its dark shops full of antiques and various objects. You can find unusual items, from a photograph to a farm implement. Of course, you must learn to haggle, because the price they ask for some things is far fetched. A cover in the area is also tradition. Better go first thing.

Very busy street market! Every sunday sellers mount their stands and offer a variety of goods: clothes, antiquities, accessories, ornaments, even esoteric stuff! The shops and bars nearby are open and add value to your visit. Looking for something original at a unbeatable price? This is your place! Watch out for your belongings and wallets: there are many policemen and it is an overall very safe place, but caution is advised.

I love the Trail, once a month I approach to see if I find any vintage object to decorate at home or even to restore. Of course, it is better to go very early, but it is impossible to see anything with so many people.

El Rastro it's Madrid's famous Flea market. Something really unique to do on holidays and weekly, every Sunday is to take a stroll around the Rastro which occupies a fairly large area (several blocks and streets on parallel to Toledo Street. It's best to get there no later than 12noon as all vendors are required to shut down by 2PM and it can take several hours to walk the entire area.

One very important detail: Beware of pickpockets everywhere and anywhere during your Madrid stay but especially in crowded areas like El Rastro Flea Market

Good experience with sellers. Lovely people and real bargains.
Very happy with the experience. But be careful there are people going up to the Latin looking for problem .... Type insults. they persecute you so that you give them something, they speak to you badly ... Looking for problems.
I had a nice day although the police had to intervene on occasion.
