I've had a great experience overall at Toyota Sunnyvale.

The price for my Prius in the newspaper matched what Consumer Reports said was a fair price, they had the exact model and color I was looking for, so I bought one on the spot. And I LOVE my Prius -- easily the best car I've ever owned (I've also owned a Mazda 323, Subaru Forrester, Honda Accord, and Honda Odyssey).

My experience with their service department (4 visits over the course of 16,000 miles) has been excellent. I really like that for most things I don't need to make an appointment and their service has been fast, efficient, and seemingly reasonably priced.

I had a great experience at Toyota Sunnyvale. I have visited showroom to buy a New Car and John Pappa a senior Sales person attended and explained about possible options for me within my constrains. Could not close the deal that very same day and to re-visit the next day but John Pappa had to leave for his vacation the very next day. Thanks to John Pappa for getting the deal to a logical conclusion.

So, I was introduced to Hoang Pham. And Hoang is really very good person I interacted with. Very Polite and great Sales Person at Toyota Sunnyvale.
Most amazing part about this gentleman is, he showed the same eagerness and willing to serve his customers even about the deal was closed. I bought RAV4 and a week later had to visit the showroom for a small cosmetic issue on my car, and have reach out Hoang to help me out.

Hoang was more then willing to help me out, he prepared all the documentation even before I reach to the showroom. It was great Experience for me.

I have been researching a 2019 RAV4 since it first got released. I've talked with multiple sales people and all were very helpful. When it came time to purchase my vehicle, Dhanedra Shah gave outstanding customer service. Both were very patient and I felt very comfortable with my purchase. Mr.Shah walked me through all the details and gave me the best options and also helped me with the test drive and showed me everything about the car. Overall I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car. This was the BEST experience I've had purchasing a vehicles. Cheers

Kalani was absolutely the best sales man we dealt with in my search for a Certified Used Toyota Corolla. He got me exactly what I wanted for the best possible price, he kept it completely real with me when I was looking above my budget, and I left so happy with my new certified used car!! After dealing with 10 other salesmen at other Toyota dealerships he was such a breath of fresh air! I can't thank him enough for being honest, authentic, and so very helpful!! Purchase Experience:
I bought my car around 6 months ago. I was shown 2 good cars (camry) out of which i liked 1 and decided to buy the same. The price of the car was around 15k, they sold warranty and other accessories worth $400. The accessory is completely useless. They just were trying to sell their offers to me and grab more and more money from me. I wont give 3-star rating for this experience as at least they did tell me that they are selling me these things.

Service Experience:
But my biggest problem is with their service. I wanted to cancel the warranty that I had purchased. So i went to the dealer and he said i will put a cancellation request but i cannot tell how much you will get back. Only warranty company can tell the return amount. Then I called warranty company and they said only dealer can tell this. I called dealer back and then he is just trying to avoid by telling will contact you back in some time. The dealer was not ready to give me the copy of cancellation form as well. He gave the copy when I insisted on having it. I am not sure what they hiding. But there is clearly lack of transparency here. And off course not to mention, once you have paid the money, you are no more to them. They will NOT treat you as customer.

UPDATE: Google should give a -ve number as well to give feedback. This service just gets more and more pathetic. After 2 months I did not receive the warranty return so I called them. And after 2 months they told me that it did not go through just because they did not have my loan account number. This just gets worse and worse. First of all, since they only provided the loan they should have the loan account number. Assuming they dont have it because of privacy reasons, can't they just call to tell they dont have the account number? Also now they are asking me to drop by in their office because they want my signature on some paper. Well. why was that not done at the first place itself??

Don't try their rental car services. We waited for more than 1hr to have our car ready to go. And the shuttle driver had really bad attitude. He yelled to my friend to back off his car in order to let his car go out first, without even saying hi. And this same shuttle driver dropped me off on the street in order to save his time. I will never recommend anyone to go to this dealer for services.

My husband and I are currently going through the worst car buying experience with Toyota of Sunnyvale. If you are considering buying a car here I would take your business elsewhere. We decided a minivan was the most logical vehicle for us as we have a 2 year old and I am currently 9 months pregnant. We found a used one we liked at Toyota of S.V. We live in Aptos and made the trip over the hill to look at it. We took it for a test drive and we both liked it and agreed it had everything we needed. However, they told us they had ordered an O2 sensor for it but the van would be ready for pick up the next day. We decided to proceed with purchasing the vehicle anyway as we didn't think that would be a problem. We got all the paperwork squared away and they even said they would reimburse us to fix the fog light. We wrote them a check for the full amount and headed home with the understanding the car would be ready the following day. My husband made arrangement to get a ride to work since he works in Cupertino and was planning to swing by after work to get it. All seemed well until my husband started calling to confirm he could pick up the van. It took many attempts to get through to speak with someone and when he did they said the part had not come in and now they were waiting for another part as well. This seemed odd as there was no mention of another part being needed. I checked our account and sure enough they had already cashed our check. The following day my husband continued calling and left several voicemails with management to find out what was going on but they were all left unanswered. This continued into the next day when he finally got a hold of our sales rep who told my husband the parts still haven't come in. My husband was finally able to speak with a manager and explained the situation. The manager told my husband the vehicle was in the back because it was not ready to be on the sales lot. My husband told him that given the circumstances we may have to terminate contract. All the manager had to say to that was "well if that is your prerogative". Clearly they are not concerned with customer satisfaction. Suddenly the part magically came in and our van would be ready for pick up that day. We thought this would be the end of our ordeal but a short time later we received a call from our sales rep saying sorry it was the wrong part and they didn't know when the van would be ready. We are left feeling cheated and frustrated which is not how you want to feel after buying a vehicle. We are trying to give them our business but they have made it very clear they do not value us as customers. We did finally get a call from one manager who actually apologized but said there wasn't much he could do. He also told us the car wouldn't be ready until Tuesday, a week after we had purchased the car. This seems completely unacceptable to me and we are very disappointed with our experience. We are now wondering if the van has other issues that they weren't forthcoming about. This is the last thing we want to be dealing with as we are anticipating the arrival of our new baby.

I went in on Easter Sunday in 2018 and met with Billy to obtain a Highlander. The transaction for the car was very smooth and hassle-free. There was a delay in the delivery of the vehicle (10 days after). Billy gave me a loaner (still had the new car smell) to drive while waiting for the Highlander. He also kept me informed regularly about the delivery possibility. He was straight-forward with me at all time , not giving me any false hope. They park your car in such a place where it is dusty. Though you have appointment it takes lot of time( even more than 50 mins) in line to give your car. The good part is they provide free shuttle to your house.

While I'm am extremely pleased by the service we received from Rey Castillo , when we purchased a used 2012 Highlander, I've since learned that the mechanical service we were shown that were preformed on the car prior to our purchase was false.

I just took the car in yesterday for what should have been a standard oil change (to my trusty mechanic), the first required sine purchasing the car 4 months ago and walked away with over $1000 in service fees, because the car apparently hadn't had anything done to it or was missing key mechanical parts.

I will never take my car back to the Sunnyvale Auto Service department. Sadly, neither them or the sales team can be trusted.

The sales person Billy went extra mile to make sure I test drove the cars that I had in mind and gave his recommendations which made my selection of car easier. I cannot say enough about Albert. He is simply AWESOME! His professional service and kindness played a very important role in us making the decision to purchase. We made several visits; the whole process was exceptional, from first visit narrowing down the car model, to selecting the trim, test driving, picking the color and finally taking delivery of the car. Albert has always been very patient, responsible and knowledgeable. It is one of the best customer service we have ever received.

We visited a bunch of dealerships and when you have that comparison, thats when you feel the most grateful to have Albert as your guy to assist you with the whole process. Truly remarkable and professional service! Would recommend!

I come to Toyota Sunnyvale not because we bought our car here for. Great price but also due to their service advisor Millis. He s been very helpful, provides a detailed description of the problem and advises on what can result if the issue is not addressed instead of insisting that the repair SHOULD be done. Leaves up to me to decide to make the choice.
Just because of advisors like him I do not mind paying the dealer cost for right repairs and would be my #1 choice for the next Toyota purchase.

I bought a used Corolla during July 4 weekend. Junemarie was the salesperson who helped me with the purchase. To put it in a word, she was great! She was professional and patient in answering my questions. When I went to the dealer, I had a few other options in mind apart from this car. She made sure I got to see all of them including one which was yet to be reconditioned. Once I decided to buy it and pick it up a couple of days later, she followed up with me and got the detailing done again before I took it out. So, when I finally took it out it felt like getting a new car. The wait times were less and all the employees I dealt with were professional. There were, of course, instances where they tried to sell me an extra warranty or insurance etc. but they were not imposing. Negotiation was smooth. Though I did not get a detailed reconditioning report I had asked for, the usual multi-point inspection and servicing was performed as mentioned on carfax. Overall, it was a satisfying car buying experience for me and I would recommend this dealership if you plan to buy a good used car!

I walked into the dealership having no concrete plans to buy a car, I just wanted to look at a couple of Honda Civics I'd seen online. James Tran greeted me immediately and showed me to the cars I was interested in. He was enthusiastic without being pushy, and talked me into taking the one I was eyeing on a test drive. I fell in love, and was soon signing the paperwork to make her mine. Throughout the process, I worked with Marco Mora in finance and have nothing but great things to say about him. As a first-time buyer, I was a little nervous, but everything was explained to me clearly and I never felt talked down to or taken advantage of. The "hasslefree" motto is taken to heart here, and I would definitely recommend this place for first-time car buyers like myself.

Bought a new Highlander Hybrid in 2012 and have been getting it serviced at Toyota Sunnyvale ever since. They always do great work, they are efficient and thorough and their service managers (stationed on the left side as you drive into the garage) are always great to work with. Every single one of them makes you feel like you are a special customer, they are helpful, knowledgeable and really customer focused. Toyota's are superb anyway. These guys help to keep our cars that way.

I purchased what I thought was a great deal. That's because I lived out of state and could not actually see or test drive the car. I trusted the sales associate to be honest and truthful. What I got was a bunch of lies. From the pictures, the car looked ok. The ad promised everything was in working condition and the car went through a 119 point inspection.. Well if it did, they ignored the fact that the car was not up to par at all! They did nothing but slap some lipstick on a lemon and sell it to someone who couldn't test drive it knowing there's no way I would have bought the car.

I just picked up the phone only to listen to a robocall from this dealership. This is illegal in California. If you have also received a robocall from this dealership, remember to file the appropriate complaints.

As for value, they have a buy three get one for a dollar deal on their tires, but they carry poor quality overpriced tires. You can get better tires elsewhere at a lower total cost. (If you have a Prius, I recommend Continental ProContact EcoPlus tires. The warranty is twice as long as the Goodyear Integrity tires carried by this dealership, its rating is twice as high on Consumer Reports, and you'll save yourself almost $100 when buying a full set.)

EDIT: Toyota Sunnyvale posted a response on July 1 saying that they will follow California laws. I received another robocall on July 21. Sleazy.

My family has been buying cars from Toyota of Sunnyvale since the early 80's and they've always been helpful, easy to complete a deal, and their service is the tops. We just bought a 2020 Prius Prime from them. Bobby and Sean made it all very straightforward and easy during these difficult times. We did it all by phone and texting. They got us what we wanted with all the options and at a good price. In addition, they took our 2005 Prius trade in and made the whole transaction very smooth and simple. Bobby drove the car up to San Francisco and picked up the older Prius while social distancing and keeping everything safe and sanitary. Thanks guys

Dan is the dealer of my purchase, he is very attentive and responses to my emails promptly. He provided all the information I need to make my decision. He also has exceptional customer services, even though we closed our deal very late at night, he was still there making sure we were taken care of, and with a smile! Even after we had purchased the car, he still provides excellent services answering our questions. Sean is the finance guy we talked to, again, excellent service and patience when explaining to us our options, without being pushy. I truly appreciate this kind of outstanding service from this dealership. I am very pleased with my overall car purchase experience and will no doubt recommend to my friends in the future.

Came for an oil change, then was informed about a recall. Great, let's get it fixed. It will take 5-6 hours! I tell them I'm on my own with my 4 year old and ask what we can do to pass the time. There was no mention of the shuttle service that would take us home. I eventually get signed up for a ride home (after a friend informed me about it as an option and I drag the info out of another employee) and am on an hour and counting waiting for this "convenience". How is this not automatically offered when they tell you at check in that it will be 2+ hours?! Better review with better customer service.

Original situation: Bad business. Come in, test drive and the sale guy didn't want to sell the car with the price he quoted me through email. He said it was a mistake. How convenient! This dealer loses our business forever.

Retification from the dealer: Bill, the manager, has reached out to me personally the same day to work out the deal within our budget, which was still a bit higher than the price I got quoted for. Next day we came in and was helped by Jorge and Charles, the two staffs there. Both were very friendly and efficient to help us get the car we want at the price we hoped for. Thank you for all three to help bring back my trust to the business to do the right things. Mistakes do happen but please do have staffs communicated as quickly as possible and offered rectification right there and then. It has been a bumpy ride for us but we've got what we want and we're happy now. Thank you again!!!!!

Not going to sugarcoat it--the car buying process is not fun for me and to be honest I was ready to give up a couple times just because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. We worked with Bobby the entire time and because of his persistent--yet kind customer service skills--we bought a car! I preferred to talk through email and Bobby respected that until it got close to the end of the negotiating process. If I ever plan to buy a car again from Toyota, I'll definitely come back to work with Bobby at Toyota Sunny!

I had purchased a used vehicle in April. They told me that they had done a 120 point inspection and have serviced the car thoroughly.
Now 6 months down the line now I have a car that is not drivable. I have take the car to a service center and they handed me 4000$ expenses bill for the service and get my car back to working shape.
They also tricked me into purchasing an extended warranty and had specifically told me that it would cover for maintenance as well which turned out not to be true.
I would not recommend this place for anyone.

We bought a new car and traded in an old car at Toyota Sunnyvale last year. They took care of everything and also got us a very good financing deal. We just walked in with our old car and walked out with our new car within about 2 hours.

The only complaint I have is we got a ticket one month after we traded in our old car. Eventually it turned out Toyota submitted the release of liability docs to DMV but DMV was in high workload and hadn't processed that.

So overall, my experience at Toyota Sunnyvale is great. Sales representative Jenny is very patient.
