Gibraltar Pools Corporation Review

The best experience I have ever had! Pools is amazing, kids an family love it! Customer Service is A+ and I have never had a bad conversations with anyone in the company.

We have had our pool for eighteen years and have had no problems and we love it!!!!

Gibraltar pool is a good quality pool but the customer service is not ideal. During several snowstorms we had damage to the pool. We have been trying since March to have the pool fixed unfortunately we are still waiting. We call the company leave messages with a promise of call backs. This happens only after we after to call several more times. The latest promise was made 2 weeks ago we are putting the items in a truck so we can come and repair your pool . We are still waiting for a call, an email or something to state when they are coming. We have a short pool season , expecting not to be in the pool this year.
Why the pool is good quality. It is 14 years old and if the storms were not damaging I am sure it would have last many more. Now if only there customer service was as good as their product.

After many years of contemplating, reading reviews, research and in home meetings with many in-ground and above ground pool companies we both felt Gibraltar Pools would be a good fit for our needs and budget here in New England. Based on our experience so far it has been a very good one, both my wife and I met with the owner Peter on Saturday evening "7/23", he was very professional and courteous, he spent a lot time going over the pool with us and addressing all our concerns and questions. For those looking into getting an above ground pool, the Gibraltar pools are expensive, they are not your typical above ground pool and cost so be prepared when you start talking $, but I've always said you get what you pay for and quality isn't cheap! With all that said and done, both my wife and I signed the agreement that evening to move forward with getting our Gibraltar Pool. Even a day after we had one more safety concern with our son with special needs, I called Peter direct and he was happy to address it and work with us so we could stay on track with our budget and getting the pool. My wife and I are very much looking forward over the next few weeks to getting our new pool, I hope to add a lot of positive updates to this review, more to come!

Hands down the best experience dealing with the owner Peter and the installation team. Mike and his team showed up early Friday morning on the 5th of August and did a very clean and professional installation in just 1 day, 24 hours later we were swimming in our new pool! If you have any doubts dealing with Gibraltar Pool in Topsfield, MA I can assure you they are a A+ company that focuses not only on the quality of the product but most importantly customer service throughout the process. I ll update my review next summer proving that Gibraltar Pool stands behind their product and any issues.

nothing but helpful! needed a new liner . pool has been up for 17 years ,, and it was time .I spoke with the sales personal, he explained how I could do it myself with a few friends . with the tips and tricks , it could not have gone any smoother .

I was so impressed by the professionalism and no pressure approach. Peter was amazing and patient with all my questions. Phil installed the pool and kept me informed every step of the way. It was a tough install bc of rocks and ledge, but they worked around it. The pool is amazing and basically calls for very minimal maintenance...im beyond thrilled with this product!

I have been dealing with Francis from service and she is very prompt on getting back with you on updated information about scheduling my pool repair. Very professional

Complete disaster. If you deal with this company do not pay them in entirety until the work is done and expect a wait regardless of what they tell you. I bought a pool last August. It was finally dropped off in my yard four weeks ago. I didn t expect it to be installed over the winter but they kept telling us another few weeks throughout the fall time frame. Started reaching out to them for a timeframe on installation. First-more excuses. Now No response on when it will be installed. I believe the product is sound but prepare yourself for a significant amount of frustration. The sales person Kevin seems honest but I was told by the owner he tends to overpromise. Nice!

Chemical prices are higher than average. Superb customer service and parts availability for the Wilkes pool.

Worse company to deal with. Worse customer service I've ever dealt with. Ordered a liner months ago, waited and waited. 5 days before scheduled install they called to cancel and offered NO HELP!!!! They acted like they really don't care. Try another company, trust me!!

They don t keep their appointment and when you call them you are told the appointment was for a different day. My time is valuable!!!

I worked here for a number of years. I learned a few things in that time. This is a company that provides a quality product. They advertise the pool as a steel box that's built like a tank ... and this is no exaggeration. New England winters are not easy ones, and I can't tell you how many times Gibraltar Pools replaced an inferior quality pool that "blew out" due to the weight of snow on top of it. The folks at Gibraltar honestly care about their customers. Much of their staff has been with them for twenty plus years, which is amazing when you consider this is a seasonal business. They are open year round now - since they also sell fireplaces, saunas, spas and hot tubs. I still stop in every once and a while and say hi. Once part of the family, always part of the family.

This has got to be one of the worst companies in the U.S. Zero customer service. Shoddy, at best, materials and sales reps that bail on you as soon as the deal is done. You would be better off buying a kiddie pool at Walmart then investing it in a piece of junk like this. The disappointment I feel after spending $25,000 is overwhelming. Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more to get an inground pool from a reputable company. It is now my mission to tell the over 300,000 people in my company to never invest in something with this low of quality or customer service. 3 years of owning this pool and the multitude of issues is astounding. I really don t think I ve ever regretted a decision as much as I have this. Do not buy!

If I could give zero stars I would!! I paid thousands for a hot tub and it s cheaply made! Same with the steps and cover. When you try to call for something you can never get through. When you do get through they are rude.

To start we love our pool. I am not going reviewing the pool. I m reviewing the customer service.
When the pool was installed it took longer than expected. When we spoke to them it was next week and then next week again. When they finally showed up to install the man actually said we should be lucky that they even came that day. During the first closing we had an amazing guy help us out, he answered all our questions and we felt better because the install was disappointing to say the least. Fast forward to our first opening: appointment time was at 2pm we finally received a call at 8 pm that they would be out the next day. So they show up the next day to open the pool at 2:30- our time slot was for 11 am. At this point we are not surprised at all. They did not tighten the screws that hold the liner and some of the screws were just missing. As much as we like to support a local business I would not recommend them to install or maintain your pool. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

worst office calling staff, refused to set up an appointment with me who is paying for the pool unless my husband was present for the estimate. Wow also called me 5 times in a row until I answered the phone

Proud Gibraltar Pool owner for over 20 years, however the customer service is lousy. I called they promised to return my call and i'm still waiting. I Don't have a problem driving to the store, but why waste time if do not have too. The website after looking at it over the years, it is just poorly designed and in need of a major update . Sadly , i don't think this will be read by anyone inside the company that has the ability to do anything about my complaints.

Great family owned company! We just had a pool installed and the process couldn't have gone smoother. Peter the owner has been great to work with. He answered all our questions and concerns and always returned our phone calls.
We were told our pool would be installed before my daughters birthday (weather and permit permitting) and it was installed as promised.
The installation was much quicker than I expected. It took the installers about 8 hours.
After the installation we had a few questions and Jay the project manager called us back within 20 minutes.
We are looking forward to using our pool for many years to come.

I will save you the trouble, use another company. I signed up for a free consultation at the Big E last fall, should have realized it was basically a scam. They got my money, but I still don't have a pool. Check was cashed and they keep delaying the actual install of the pool. They are extremely difficult to deal with and wish I had bought elsewhere. Trust me on this, you don't want the headaches this organization has caused.

We re so thankful that the lack of communication happened now. If we had purchased a pool from Gibraltar Pools, it may have been a disaster trying to get a hold of someone later on down the road. Our appointment was for 6:00pm (kinda late to be honest) and no one called to say that they were going to be late or not show up for that matter. We had to call to see what was going on because dinner still needs to be served. If they want to survive as a reputable business, they need a serious adjustment in customer service and punctuality.

I would like to thank Anthony and all of the crew as well as Marcelo leading the excavation work to have my pool installed in a yard that had lots of ledge! Peter the owner came out to my house prior to the work and helped me out deciding whether the ledge would he an issue or not and was great to deal with. The whole team was very professional and the 16x24 pool came out awesome. They were on target with the dates and did a great job overall. If you are looking for an above ground pool that has an inground look and feel look no further. I would recommend you get a pool heater for your pool if you are trying to enjoy it as much as possible. The led pool lights are amazing at night by the way!!!

Probably the worst customer service, that I have ever dealt with.
Leaving trash behind, saying they would take care of ASAP. 3 1/2 weeks later, still nothing. After leaving a message. They don't get back to me until a week later. Told them not to bother, I already threw their trash away and to not contact me. A week later, Someone contacts me, only to make excuses, as to why they can't take their trash.
Also, if you plan to buy a pool from them, beware! It's written in their contract, not to take any of the trash from the pool construction. And it's a lot of cardboard. It took me 3 trips, with a Tacoma to get rid of it all. I'd never recommend them.

14 years later and they re still as helpful as ever. They ve fixed some issues under warranty early on and now are still our go to place for parts or repairs. Always guide us through everything our pool is so effortless always clean and beautiful easy to care for.

I buy all my pool supplies here, from filter to chlorine, their are TWO knowledgeable Guys working there, ONE is Keith the other Marty GREAT PLACE, Great Prices, Great Customer Service, I've tried them all, Leslie, Budget, to name a few, This place is Great, they stock Polaris parts too.. I'll be back this year too, I've been going here 5 plus years Best Prices, Great availability, I'm a pool guy, they also SELL Above ground and all kinds of Spas look these TWO up, you won't be disappointed I Never am...

Worst company to deal with. Poor customer service and their pools are not any better quality than ones costing half the price.
Pool is completely falling apart and starting calling them 4 months ago to be able to get it done fairly soon when nice weather allowed. 4 months later and we have been avoided, blown off, and put off until June now after having to call 11 times to even have anyone give us help or answers..Will not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Look elsewhere and read ALL reviews.. we regret not listening to the 1 Star reviews. I m sure the date they gave us will end up being pushed off again like they have pushed us off for a month now. Anyone want pictures of the quality of our pool I will be more than willing to share with you. Message me!

I purchased a 12/24 pool from this company 29 years ago. This pool is still standing, the main deck has started to rot out and have had to replace the liner twice due to harsh winters. I had an animal get under liner and tunnel out earth which caused the liner to rip again. I would highly recommend ! the pool is very low maintanece and much easier then an in ground to make any repairs. I have enjoyed many summers in this pool. If I replaced the main deck and liner I am sure I would get another 20 out of this pool. I have since moved to Florida and it saddens me that I am going to take this down this year. Many family memories were made with this pool. If looking for a well made, trouble free pool. Look no further

A service manager came to my home to talk about a new pool, he said he had one from the Big E and would sale it to me for a great deal, I said I would think about it, he said give me a $50 deposit that was refundable if I said no, I call and said no we can do it and send back our deposit ,nothing . Called many time and left a message to Jay and still nothing ,It has been a years later and I Still have not got the deposit back. It is not the money it is the principle, not a good way to do business....

Had my Dolphin 300 pool vacuum repaired there and was treated very well and I'd have no problem doing business with them in the future.

Over a month delay in installation despite repeated promises throughout that it would be the next week. And then the next. Etc. The owner personally called me to guarantee the delivery date and when that passed he had his intern call to deliver the bad news.

The installers left the pool with several fittings leaking - installed the pool base 4 inches from an underground 1000 gallon propane tank and put the stairs right on top of the tank. They were unaware that you couldn t put the pool heater right next to the propane tank. Long story short and thousands of $$ later the pool had to be drained and tank moved to eliminate the extreme hazard of the pool proximity to the propane tank.

I tried getting a quote from Gibraltar for two weeks. The lead time for an appointment doesn't bother me but the fact that we have scheduled times that are cancelled 5 minutes prior. We are then told to be "flexible" and are expected to be home and available throughout the day.

Poor customer service right from the start. Miss quoted several times by the tech and several people on the phone, had to wait a month to "get in the queue" just to get an appointment, and then another month to get services done. Was also told the estimate is refundable.....guess what, it's not. And be prepared, If you want a variety of choices for a liner you can't, they only have one option.

I started coming here this season and what a difference it's made. I am so glad I discovered you guys. I've never had such an easy season with my pool. You know what you're talkin about and I never felt like you guys were trying to get me to spend more money. I've had great service each time I've been there.

Fist off sent the wrong pump/filter
Delveiver sand without asking where to put it and put a majority of it on the sand on my lawn
Used a bobcat to do the digging and totally ruined the lawn
Tore up my asphalt with the bobcat
Would never show up when they said they would
All three guys were totally unprofessional (smoking cigs while working, blaring rap music with profanity I have numerous kids , looked hung over and not very personable)

Install
They totally screwed up the pool floor and I have to have it replaced...after 1 day.

Missing parts and vital screws

This has been one of the most disappointing things so far and I will not be paying them a dime until we can figure out what else the screwed up.

The installers where from philly and the were subcontracted and they are called Proper Pools
Cell +1 (267) 945-3625 but in the end Gibraltar s name is now tarnished.

Giving these guys 1 star and will update this if it gets any better, which at this point I have 0 confidence it will I really wish I could give them 0 stars.....
