THE bins are ridicolous ! What s the little brown food waste bin??? ANY EXCUSE FOR BIN MANS TO REFUSE COLLECTION. There s always some issues as to why they have left bins lying around? If the council care about their residents why not make sure all bins are collected ? Especially during a pandemic ?

This is the worst and hardest people to get through to, I have moved new to Enfield and I tried their website which doesn t load properly, I tried calling and all I got to do was talk to a robot, I also emailed them and they take like 20+ days to respond.
I have literally had the hardest time with them hopefully they improve and have some humans on the other side of the line.

Abysmal service, stupid options where you can t speak to someone, then when you hold for switchboard get told you re in the wrong department even though you haven t asked for a department yet, eventually get to speak to someone but then told there s a back log and that person can t see any information anyway. Half an hour of my life that I ll never get back. Pointless.

Worked as a bin man here loading bagged bin bags by hand only but before the interview they say you'll be on the wheelie bins as a refuse loader conning you into lifting bags nonstop, at the job they had no limit of weights with a zero health and safety standard causing me a major injury.

Worst council ever. Being a good citizens didn't want to throw my sofas anywhere in the road. So I paid the fees to collect from my home. During process there was a option if there was any information they should know during collection? I have provided this information. Now council asked me to put the rubbish outside and they will collect and they can't come inside my house.
I don't understand then why did I pay then. I just put my bulk rubbish anywhere in the road.

Contacted the council environment help line via website 6th August regarding a persistent noise issue emanating from one of their buildings.
Report number CAS-187862-H3P3N2.
No response so contacted again on 22nd August via call centre who raised it to priority level.
Despite several further correspondence (each time I left a e mail message I received a automatic reply telling me I would receive a response review within the next ten days) as of today's date 2nd Oct 2017 (57 days later) I have still have not received a formal response.

Really poor service. All the reports I do online, have been closed without contacting me. When I try to call them up, I'm being transferred to a random department. Staff doesn't have a clue how to solve an issue and usually the call drops suddenly and I have to pay council tax for no service. The worst council ever!

Try to apply for planning permission you will be met with impossibilities and only keep failing it. Also getting enforcement team hanging against you even when a building is within permitted development. Getting threatening letters. Made a payment council tax departments by error and to get that back is impossible and when you are late in a payment they are too fast in issuing warning letters! Hard to get bins taken and can br left for weeks even after calling them. Staff too rude in any department you try to contact and not helpful at all!

Racism rife within the borough of Enfield, institutional islamophobic at all levels of staff, If you are on this councils list awaiting accommodation, not fitting correct race, religion & ethnicity then be prepared to be have your application placed at the bottom or not judged on merits, mitigating circumstances, neither ill health, particular groups from 2 specific groups will be housed immediately, placed as priority and advised on how best to jump the que, conditional or unconditional, it even helps with having a family friend, relative to become immediately eligible for housing, not forgetting being awarded effective benefits and entitlements to Grant's and any costs to set your life on a rollercoaster ride. Special services for if your not Asian & Muslim. Under the freedom of information act, clearly shows high proportion of people from 2 communities housed as many positions held by these decision makers are from the same backgrounds, complaining is a no go if your of an ethnic minority, the mayor appointed is a puppet, happy to earn, just to front the face of Enfield's so called equality, in fact its not how ill you are but who you are or know and what your ethnic background that counts, Islamic & Asian....no no, be prepared for investigation, interrogation, discrimination, indirect and sometimes face to face hate, islamophobic, harassed and no freedom of human & civil rights.
If by chance your provided emergency or temporary accommodation, being the above mentioned ethical group, be much prepared to have Enfield Council's accommodation team sweep the home back right under your feet, understand and misleading tactics & tailor made laws made up to confuse & take advantage of the most vulnerable, coloured, creed, Asian and Muslim. The meaning of intentionally homeless is defined by this councils policy if your the above. No excuses or proof excepted. If you have some money you should contact a Mrs T N who's family run a paid for private accommodation service and provide expertise on how to obtain Council accommodation approval...East End bureau service...value for money if your from their community! Ontop of other business services provided..companies house and other searches will reveal more...Enfield Council, its housing policies are not the same for homelessness criteria, it's made up for those whom have links and association with individuals working at the departments! Is this council racist? Yes would be the correct answer, if your of an ethnic group and more specifically Muslim with life threatening health and heart conditions, Then Enfield Council and especially case worker Mrs T NY (full name on request)and other heads of the council will do the utmost best to ensure your are unfairly treated, humiliated, discriminated, misled, harassed, victimised, intimidated and more importantly made homeless during illness and leaving hospital.
The accommodation team at Enfield has done the utmost best to cause this individual as much alarm and distress as possible ensuring a further heart attack is triggered and knowing that the person concerned is to go into surgery after this weeks bank holiday. Timing was excellent to not considering the mitigating and actual true facts but deciding to save the council a weeks rent in comparison to a life....well done Enfield! I know where to visit when I want to call my life to finish!

I've been an Enfield resident my whole life so don't really know about any other councils, but my recent experience has been nothing short of atrocious. When moving house we received a council tax reiminder notice which we duly paid. We then received more notices and so, assuming that these were relating to my first payment I went to the council building to let them know, they asked me to leave a letter with proof of payment, which I did. I then receive a summons from the magistrates court!! when I called them they tell me that I owed them 2 lots of council tax payment but only paid 1. I argued that it is not clear that I owed 2 as the amounts are the same, but they put the phone down on me!! Now I have to pay an additinal bill on top of the council tax bill I owe. I understand that if I owe money then I should pay it, but they should really make it clear what I owe. Very poor treatment of your residents I say

What on earth have Enfield Council done regarding the food waste bins?? The brown bin is so small that it will overfill in 1 week so the food waste will have to be put in to the normal bin. Lastly, they ve introduced these barriers on many of our roads to remind us to share the roads with pedestrians and cyclists , essentially making the road one way and backing up turning vehicles.

What other service provider, business or company, once you have paid them, can treat you as bad, as a local authority. With any other company, service provider etc, you would jump ship and go elsewhere. But of course, you can't with a local authority, can you. They will take your council tax, take approx 30% of it for their own cosy pension schemes, and then ignore you. Unanswered phones. Un returned emails. I even sent a letter in along side a cheque for my garage rent. No answer to my letter. Rang up to query this and operator said letter was never received,despite cheque being cashed! That, in my eyes make the council devious and liars. Truly truly awful. Zero star rating.

Made an official complaint to council and was told they had taken on new staff and I would have an officer appointed by November 16th at latest. Still have not got a planning officer. Enfield Labour Council in my view operate as a "Cult Mob".I have recently filed a police report against them under antisocial behaviour.Ever since they have been in power for 12 yrs they always lift the bins too early in the morning.Im confident many residents experience this as well I am considering to file and have the media around and or writing to Westmister.I have also experienced waste from damaged brown bins is dropped left on public footpaths .I would urge in particular all EU nationals that moved here around 40-50 years ago that have the new rights to vote in local elections to claim your right now you can do it.

Without a doubt the worst public body I ever had the misfortune to deal with in my life and I have lived in 4 different cities in Britain and two other European countries. Reports of anti social behaviour and fly tipping in the borough were quite simply ignored. 99% of their staff would not last a week in a job in the real world. They also operate on a different time scale to the rest of the normal populace with no comprehension of urgency or deadlines. When I moved out of the borough not having to be "served" by Enfield council was one of the reasons for my move.

Being slowly run into the ground, as a former employee i have insight to say they pay their staff very poorly compared to other councils and in turn attract less competent staff.

Awful service. Very difficult to contact. No response when messaged in general and on one occasion took three to four attempts to get bin emptied when messaged to which they lied on each occasion stating they had done it when they had not.

Very poor service from at Enfield Council at the moment. One of their visiting team members didn't change the name of our business unit from it's previous occupants since July 2019.

So since then our Business rates account reference number has been fraudulently in the name of a tenant who moved to Cyprus in July last year.

I have been in contact with them for two weeks since Monday 6th April 2020 when they promised me this will be rectified (even passed on to the boss Simon whom we are yet to hear from). I have been calling them every couple of days since and the individual who made the error Mr James Abrahams has been as slippery as an EEL.

As our business needs this Account Reference number to access our eligible government Grant, all kinds of thoughts are racing through our minds as to why the Council doesn't wish to fix such a 3 minute admin error with urgency (their error by the way).

We currently have several families who have been waiting patiently for this and are very disappointed by the lack of professionalism and integrity shown by at Enfield Council with dealing with this matter. Will be escalating this matter further.

Tried to report missed collection online. System did not work. It was saying A missed collection must be reported within one working day of your scheduled collection day. If not, collection will occur on your next scheduled collection. I tried to report same day after 4pm, next day which was Saturday same message. I thought one working day meaning on Monday because collection day was on Friday. Still same message. I called to council on Monday they said I have to reported same day after for or next day. I tried everyday still same message coming up.

An absolute joke and possibly one of the biggest cumulative wastes of human time in all of greater London. The key issue is that the council doesn't provide any way to meaningfully resolve issues in a reasonable amount of time, and simultaneously sends court summons + fines without a process to resolve them without wasting further time. Our council keep cutting down trees and then they don't replace them. This is the case on my street, which is already so bare. Trees are the cornerstone of preventing some of the toxic pollution and our city needs them. Secondly, this council's phones have very lengthy recordings about council tax. EVERYONE who calls is forced to listen to this, even when calling for something totally unrelated. Then, there is the rubbish dumped on the streets issue, letting our area down. On the short school walk, we see a high amount of rubbish dumped on our streets, plastic bottles, junk food packaging and so on, making the area look neglected (which it is) and simply a bad place to live and work. Then, Enfield council's communication is pretty poor and fragmented. It can take a huge amount of battling through the system before justice comes through. Last and never least, the cycle lanes put in have significantly and severely increased the congestion and pollution in our area. A very badly designed project that now has severe consequences. Stagnant cars and trucks create three fold more pollution than moving ones. Narrowing our roads was an ill thought concept, also carried out without public consultation or involvement. Our area, your choices, it seems. A very heavy top down approach. At the very least, we need a lot more trees to combat the poor air quality in Enfield. We need trees in ALL of Enfield, not just in the privileged parts.

My bins have not been collected for 3 weeks without reason. I have emailed them twice within 24 hrs each time and they promised to empty my bin before the next collection day. This hasn't happened and they do not answer the phone.
They also charge for my green bin but failed to empty that as well without giving a reason. The same with my neighbour who did contact them and was told that she had put apples in the garden waste bin (apples from garden that had fell and rotted).

This is the worst worst council ever!!!! Enfield council is an absolute joke. From their employer, manager, phone operators and contractors. I have never felt so angry with anything in my whole life as I do with them. I have been without hot water for over a month because of the rubbish system that they decided to put into the building near Durants Park. I have two kids. I have to heat water on the cooker and kettle to give my kids a wash down. And have been doing this coming up to two.months now. They keep sending people out to to fix the problem, and they can't seem to do it. Am beyond angry and frustrated with them. I feel like crying because of anger towards them and how they clearly do not care about their residents. I have written a complaint to them and am still waiting for a reply. I would love them to be in my position and see how long they would put up with their own crappy services.

Extremely poorly managed website!
I have been attempting to order new bins for the last week from their website however there seems to be a bug on the system which doesn't allow you to enter the ordering page. I called on 19th May 2020 but their officer stated that it should be fixed within 48 hours. After 7 days the problem is still not fixed! Called in again today and the officer seemingly unknowing that the issue has been ongoing for more than a week tried to claim that the issue had only started this morning. Even when Enfield council are to receive money from a service they don't seem to bother fixing an issue. It would probably be resolved within 2-3 hours however I doubt they have assigned an IT person to fix the issue. The only thing for them to do now is to send me a warning for the bin bags hanging around outside my home due to me having no bins to put them into. RIDICILOUS!!

We are new to the area and its nearly coming up to a year that we have been here. Enfield council has provided very poor customer service. Their website is out of date and they place no desire on recycling. I have asked for our recycling bags 5 times and still have not received them.
The bin service is also questionable. Today, 31/01/2020 they arrived this morning but did not take our bins away. This has happened twice with no notice and now their website is down. Its quite upsetting but I think they are letting the people of the area down. I would not even give 1 star more like -1 star!

The Enfield Connected website is too basic to deal with all the applications and requests. It takes ages to fill a form through the website, after spending an hour trying to fill a form, the website decides to wipe out everything you type and you have to start all over again!

You are all aware of the service you provided is very bad. That's why you are all hiding from us in your lovely offices. When we come to the council in person, you do not take 2 minutes to come to the reception and listen to people's problems. We all wait at the reception and sent home without getting a chance to talk to someone and get a proper advise.

Main problem is that your services are slow, dated and your staff do not care to help. There is no continuity in the service you provide. We get a reply from a different advisor every time we write to the council. Your staff do not read the previous emails carefully and they cause further confusions and problems.

You will not get my vote when the next election comes. That is the only way to teach you all a lesson. I hope everyone in Enfield boycott your terrible service and you all get sucked. We have suffered enough already. The council needs new managers and staff who take pride in the service they provide.

All boroughs have their issues. Financial, social, environmental....I have lived in several over the years, and now I make Enfield my home. Enfield is a more interesting place to live than it is given credit for.

I have always received excellent and rapid service from the council, I act with respect to the people working for the council, and in return I receive the same treatment.

People often complain about fees, but most councils are stretched and pay as you use is infinitely more egalitarian than an across the board council tax rate hike. Just because something like the green bin was free since forever doesn't mean it should remain so.

I find it difficult at times to pay everything too, I would prefer to pay less, but gardening is now a luxury pursuit apparently and I suppose it is time to make a change, as the council has.

As for the bike lanes, I live almost on top of one, so I see how many people use it with frequency .. it is not as busy as I think the council was predicting, but maybe it is a growth thing? What is wrong with being a bit more like The Netherlands, which everyone seems to admire for their safe streets....

I only gave one star because there is no option to give no starts. I can see many people had the same issue with them. Online or through the automated services-registering for council tax is a disaster. To get someone on the phone is very difficult. I man told me that I can ONLY do this online. I do know it is not true as I have just managed to sort it out on the phone. It is very sad that the workers there do not know the difference between encouraging people to do something online or that would be the only choice. When I asked what his name was as I wanted to make a complaint he simply put the phone down on me.... Very very unprofessional and they get paid for this on our tax money. Very very upsetting
