Double debit went off in December for my loan account which is not the same amount that was reflecting on my statement. When I call in I am transferred to the entire world and no resolution. Even the manager Aqeeah has not called me back as requested. I actually would have not given a star for their ridiculous service. Matter taken to the ombudsman

This is a classic loan shark all dressed up like a legit operation. They are very sophisticated. When you contact them, they tell you about the extra charges right at the end, after they detect that you will accept. And then they still don't give you the full picture. The full picture dawns on you after you're in and then they refer you to points buried in the small print. They charge a legally accepted interest rate but load the extras - initiation fee, life insurance, etc - so much so that you effectively pay nearly 50%. If you borrow R20 000, you will find yourself paying back R29 263, plus the interest. The interest will come to about R544 per month, then you have the life insurance at R83 and an "NCA Service fee" at R57.

You don't receive statements until you bug them about it. Instead of emailing you statements, they spam you -email and SMS. You will struggle to get them to stop. If you are late with a payment, they fine you ... I forget the amount ... something between R100 and R200. They phone you even if you are one day late with a payment. They phone you two days AFTER you have made the payment. They phone you early in the morning, wake you up, and then hang up. I received three calls which I answered promptly but which they hung up on answer.

Direct Axis are owned by First National Bank. FNB will refuse you with one hand and accept you with the loan shark hand.

AVOID at all costs!

I don't understand but for some reason when I tried to find out about my balance, because I want to settle my account, I was put on hold for 1 hour.

When you apply for a loan you get help within 5 minutes up to today I'm still trying to get hold of someone to give me an answer.

What must I do to get hold of someone competent to help me with my account.

I applied for a personal loan from direct axis and the consultant said to me that my loan was approved but i needed to pay an amount of R3599 before the money is transferred into my account, so all i wanted to know is that how legitimate is that and why do i have to pay first that large amount of money, i mean if i had that kind of cash why would i be applying for a loan

Took out a loan in November 2019. Have been paying a monthly installment since December 2019 until March 2020 (paid for 4 months already) but the loan balance is still at the same amount that was taken out, actually R100 over the original balance. This means that the balance has not reduced even though I've already paid R6000 in installments. Definitely would not recommend taking out a loan with them unless you want to be paying for the rest of your life.

Absolutely disgusting behavior from a company. I have never come across a company that is so aggressive with spamming. I have repeatedly begged them to stop with their non stop smss every month for years, non stop emails and also went on to Facebook to beg them to please stop but no one can help. Unsubscribed from emails but nothing works, they keep sending. I will never recommend or ever do business with DirectAxis.

i have applied for a loan on the 29th of December 2016. the Loan has been approved and the quotation has been done on the 30 November 2016. Since then i have been making calls to these mother-buffers and just to here today via sms that my loan has been declined after approval. They promised me since last week that the money would be paid in the next 24 hours. Your bad customer services are inexcusable and your people are incompetent. I still owe you money on my old loan so i`m going to cancel my debit order and pay you R 150, 00 p/m and not the R 961 i usually pay every month. I waist a lot of airtime and my working time to contact you. Please S.A. don`t do business with these people.

I have dealt with Ebrahim and Babalwa.... They have saved me from a complete melt down with call centre folk, I had to deal with FNB and Westbank before dealing with DirectAxis. But what a pleasure. The efficiency and certainty. I was not directed to different departments, there was no waiting 15 min to deal with an operator. Wow, what a relief, I can say. Please Ebrahim and Babelwa, needs to be promoted or at least given some accolade. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I suspect that part of their business model involves selling personal contact details to spam lists. If you send them an email/call them or contact them in any way, expect to end up on every spam list there is.

Customer Service are non-existent. Been struggling for 2 weeks just to get a settlement balance. most of their Customer service lines don't work, cannot get through to do an inquiry on my existing account but when I pretend to apply for a new account with my wife's ID I get though immediately. Then I get transferred to someone else, where I hold the line for ages just to get cut off. From 30+ calls I was able to get through to a consultant once to ask for a settlement balance, they promised to send it immediate and said the mail will take 24-52hours, 3 days later still nothing. I have made 10+ (and counting) more calls this morning, and still nothing. keep getting transferred and cut off. I don't understand why the person that answers the call the first time cant help me. I just what to get this account settled and closed and be done with this. Is this to much to ask?!

Update 11 Jan 2021 - 9:49 - I have maid exactly 20 more calls since my first review, the same story. I have found their customer service e-mail address and sent various mails, all of the mails returned undelivered.

If you own you better pay up. But if they don't do there's it is still your fault. They won't take responsibility for their mistakes. If their mistake cost you money they got lots of issues. Now they will rectify their mistake but the banking cost is mine. Be careful, their words means NOTHING.

As i was googling Direct Axis contact details I stumbled across this reviews page and read a few, and thank goodness I did because i was about to make a follow up on my loan application that i made last month and was approved but never received any further feedback. Every time i call I wait on the line for a very long time after i have been verified till i hang up. They so quick to send countless letters inviting you to apply for the loan, but when u apply they take ages. I'm fedup and will be cancelling my application ASAP.

The call centre takes forever to answer calls, most times the calls don't go through. On days I tried for 3-4 hrs to get someone to answer a call. When they do you may end up with someone in a poor reception area and you are unable to communicate, or you get transferred leading to being cut off.

I was given a Covid 19 Relief loan by FNB, Direct Axis has not transferred that money to me, and they have continued to deduct my monthly premiums, which the loans is meant for.
They are illegally making me pay for a loan that they never gave me.

They are HORRIBLE to work with.

I phone them around 5 times every day for the last 2 months butt nobody can help me. The people that can help me keeps on cutting the phone off. Very disappointed and very poor service. I renewed my loan in October this year. The amount that was quoted during the process and afterwards in the contract AND telephonically is not the amount deducted. I contacted Direct Axis and they assured me it was only once off because it's October's admin fee that was determined pro rata. I accepted but guess what? This month they deducted the wrong amount again! This company does not believe in ethics and do not care about its clients. I do not trust them and will never do business with them again.

They provide the incorrect information and their turn around times are absurd. Please go back to all my emails, phone calls made, maybe then you'd be able to assist me. They debit unexplained extra amounts from your account, and when you try to query the matter, there is no response on calls, emails or any form of communication.
They do apparently have the time to reply on Facebook with useless responses claiming they will contact you.
I will be taking this matter further if I do not get this matter resolved within the week.

This review is to let people know about the RIDICULOUS SERVICE that Direct Axis offers. I put in an application for a loan after applying online. It was meant to take 24 hours for a consultant to call me to continue the application. After not hearing back from anyone, I had to call their offices several times before I got through to someone for assistance. I called their offices a third time to follow up on the application and had to go through the same application process a second time. Was told that someone would call back in 24 hours as my application was approved. The consultants have tried calling me. The first call, I happened to be in a meeting and asked if they would call back in 10 minutes. They called back BUT they let the phone ring twice before I can answer then they hangup. And that's how they've been trying to call me back - by continuously hanging up after 2 rings. Since then I had been trying to call their offices. When you get through the line cuts off - which seems like the consultants are actually hanging up on you once you get through. I have left messages on twitter expressing my frustrations but all they can do is relay the message which doesn't help. I have decided that I don't want to do business with this company (ever) and will not be proceeding with this application. Direct Axis, I don't want a response or an apology for what I've had to endure through what was meant to be a simple application as you advertise. I just want the people of South Africa who searches the internet for your business to know about the BAD SERVICE you offer. You do not even deserve a single star-rating but I was forced to give you one to add this post.

I have paying my loan for years and then with Covid 19 I applied for the loss of income from Hollard and they have approved my application and paying the loan every month , but DirectAxis is still taking the money or trying by debit order. I tried several times to call Direct Axis but with no success. You hold on for a half an hour and then the line goes dead. I also send them an email requesting not to take the debit order, but no luck. I have also tried FNB for help, but they say they can not cancel the debit order. Every time FNB now sends the debit order back and charges me R120.00. My children paid money in my account for essentials and Direct Axis took it.
