It's 12am, your internet is down and you need to do something online that is business critical. No worries, you'll just call your provider and they'll fix it. Easy! Except CSS are closed. Not even an network operations center who can help you. Just a message taking service. But don't worry: they open at 6am central and they'll definitely (maybe) fix your internet then! What a joke. Guess I'll use my hotspot tonight until I can call a "real" carrier tomorrow to arrange an install.

As someone who uses the internet heavily for school and such, I was quite disappointed to learn that upon moving with a friend in Lancaster, CA, internet was provided by Consolidated Smart Systems, and they have a monopoly on the apartment complex where my friend lives. How they can get away with this is beyond me! First of all, this is 2015, and internet speeds are 6mbps download, and 1mbps upload, that's it! I believe 2004 called, and they want their internet back! Speeds vary a fair bit, and it's sad to know that I get better internet on my cell phone, several times better internet in fact. I wanted to bring in my own cable connection from Time Warner Cable, which can offer internet that's over 30 times better than what I'm able to get with these folks, but of course all indications are, I can't get Time Warner in this complex, because of smart systems monopoly! How can they get away with this! It'd be one thing if say Time Warner was the sole provider, but CSS is, for both TV and internet. Since CSS seems to not want to keep up with modern technology, I hope they go out of business. No apartment complex should ever have this kind of monopoly type deal with providers that can hardly provide internet! The TV service provided via CSS is DirecTV by the way.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever been forced to use and the internet provided is very poor, the customer service is awful. Experience number one, I called last year because of connectivity issues, I was told the tech would be here from 9-1, I saw him sitting in front of the apt. from 12-1 talking on the cell phone, I called to complain and that got nowhere. The latest issues is Internet problems for a few weeks, we called and made an appt. last week on the 9/13 again we were told 9-1, ten minutes before 1:00 I called consolidated smarts customer service asking where the tech was and got a long song and dance about all the misfortunes of the day for the tech and that he would be there most likely at 1:30, 1:30 came and went and still no one showed, we called customer service and were told, didn t we know that there was a grace window from 1-2:00?!!! What?! We spoke to a supervisor who promised us she would put in a request for the first appt. on, you got it, the following Thursday at 9:00. 9:00 came and went I called, got another song and dance about how the tech day would be disrupted if he came here first then he would have to back track and oh by the way, he does have a window of 9-1, what!! It is now 10:01 and he is still not here and just called my husband and told him he would be here within the hour, seriously? I will never live anywhere where I am forced to have this company again. Run don t walk away from anyplace that forces this company on you.

How is this company still allowed to conduct business. Look at all these horrible reviews. Unfortunately my apartment complex only has them as an option. I am working to change that and get spectrum somehow in here. Internet is so inconsistent you cannot rely on them. Service is horrible as well when you try to call in to report issues. Most of the time you are put in a never ending hold queue and then it will automatically connect you to AT&T/Directv. Like what in the world world is up with that. Also the online site to make your monthly payment is a website that looks like it was created in the beginning stages of the internet. Be very wary of putting in your credit card info as it is probably not safe. The tech that they also have for installation is not very knowledgeable. I had to do most of my own setup as he didn't know anything. All he knows is plugging in power cables lol. Avoid ever using this company for your internet needs. STAY FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

I was impressed with Erika, my customer service representative. She was very patient and didn't rush me into making any decisions until I was comfortable with all the information regarding the various plans and prices that was available to me. I appreciated her professionalism and friendliness as well. Great job Erika. My Technician was Sammy. He arrived as scheduled and explained what he was doing. He also didn't complain when he learned that the previous owner used Dish and the satellite was still functioning. This was news to us as well. He went about disconnecting and setting up our direct t.v..We were very grateful for his professionalism and how he explained the new service. Great job Sammy!

This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with (worse than parking enforcement!!!) - they are rude, treat customers like crap, overcharge for their services, miss appointments (and then blame it on residents - and yes I do keep, and would be happy to share, my call logs showing NO ONE called / left voicemails and have security video showing NO ONE showed up for the last 2 appointments).

Advice to any residents being forced into their service for DirectTV / internet - just get hulu+ and netflix - dealing with these people is not worth the hassle - for the record I do LOVE directtv, but this vendor makes the experience untenable).

Advice for and building owners - DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, unreliable service, infuriating representatives make for UNHAPPY tenants.

Had a lot of issues with the internet being spotty...

Had a lot of issues with the internet being spotty during peak hours for all the apartments in our complex who used CSS, which lasted for over two weeks. We also had an issue where we were constantly receiving bills from Direct TV even though we were on a 1 year free subscription, eventually leading to phone calls as well. All these issues might want me to give 1 star.

However, they tried tirelessly to resolve the internet issue. They worked at night some days and even on the weekend to find the issue and to fix it. Must say, very relentless efforts. After approximately two weeks, we were finally free of internet problem.

As for the Direct TV issue, dropping messages on the customer service portal and sending emails to the email id shared in some of the responses to negative reviews here, all proved to be useless. However, I was able to get in touch with the Director of Smart On, CSS via email. Was able to share the bills with her and state what the issue was. She was very effective and took immediate action to resolve the issue and took personal care to convey status of the case. She has been commendable.

By far the worst service provider I ve ever come across in my 50+ years. Their billing is a joke. No one answers the phone. I have the same problem every month where they are supposed to just charge my credit card, but every month they manage to screw that up. What a bunch of idiots...

I had rented a fridge from CCS and returned it, everything seemed ok. I then noticed that they had charged me again the month after I had returned it. After calling and requesting a refund they told me I would have the money back on my account in 3-5 days. It has now been two weeks and they are telling me that the money has been refunded... I assure you it has not. INCREDIBLY SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!! To be fair though, they didn't try to screw me on any cleaning charges (yet).

He always is cheerful and has a smile on his face, he is here for us whenever we need him. Consolidated you have a good one here! We love our internet and cable services.

I wish I could give negative ratings. But I want everyone to know. This is the worst company in regards to customer care. They charged me even though I closed my account as they had my credit card number saved on my account. When I called them for refunds they said it takes 12 weeks I kept calling them december, january and february they said it already on its way. Well I never received it. Finally I called them again after 2 months they tell me we have no information of your account as your account is closed. I want to sue this company for charging me even though my account was closed.

I am very impressed with Consolidated. I am always nervous when it comes to my interent since I use it on a daily basis for work and school, but haven't had any big issues. If I do, which had a small problem with billing, Shirley was always there to answer my questions quickly and is always a joy to speak too. Her billing person, which i believe is named Jen is amazing and was able to fix the issue right away. THANK YOU so much Shirley and Jen. I have no fear in the future with this company and look forward to having their services for a very long time.

I have decided to change my Internet, TV and phone provider and chose Consolidated Smart Systems. First of all, the representative was sensation, smart and most understanding and easy to work with. I explain my data needs, and we together with her guidance, Shirley the top professional explained she will help me and make it easy to switch over. Internet speed that for my needs 200 MB is fine. Then we looked at the various Directv packages and choose Xtra which has all my desired channels. Shirley said if you want to add any others, which see you are not using much, we can modify the plans. Then for the phone, she was very helpful to assist me in the porting of my number which they will switch over Friday. Considering I called Wednesday this week and she has the install tomorrow Friday, I am very happy. Thanks to Shirley, a real professional!

This company is full of liars. Technicians dont show up when "scheduled." When you call just to verify your appointment you are given contradicting information. Today was the FOURTH time I called off work for them to come fix my broken service. It was scheduled between 9-11. At 1130 I called and was told it was scheduled from 9-1. (Wrong) Called them again at 230 and was then told we "escalated your order to the maintenance team. What does that even mean? Once again, at 330 I called just to remind them they never called me back. No answers or explanations on why their service is pathetic.But he did confirm a Tech was scheduled between 9 and 12. Oh wait, so now its 12? Not 11 or 1 pm? My second phone call was with a rep named Tony. Who insisted he would call me back in a half hour. When I called them back another Rep told me "no Tony works here." Its sad that Direct Tv and our rental agency is allowing this sham company to tarnish their reputation.

She listens to the issue and always quickly comes up with a solution to fix the problem. I am thankful for the quick response and service, since I work from home I really need quick and easy access to the internet.

Horrible service. I overpay greatly in one of their "High powered properties" and get a 1/6 of what i pay for. Wait until all these nice reviewers are 3 weeks into their service and it'll be a different story. Bandwidth fluctuates so much that you can barely do anything and if you try to play a game there is so much packet loss that it's not even possible. If there was an option for 0 stars and a report to the BBB i would've clicked that. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the fact I only have my lease (and requirement to use this company) for a few more months. Oh and yes, I pay for their highest internet package and are getting these problems. My phone's wifi hotspot could be faster/more reliable Good luck.

Internet connection is ok at best. I suspected it for a while, but I actually caught them nerfing my connection speed using the google upload/download speed test.

Edit: While I certainly appreciate the gesture of speeding up my connection, this still doesn't explain why I have consistent and significant bottoming out of both upload and download rates.

I worked for technical support for internet service providers across the country at a third party on the phone company, and these people at Consolidated Smart Systems are the worst of the worst from all the providers that I offered support to. Whenever I have to send them an issue I couldn't fix with a customer whether it is in billing or I need to sign them up for DirecTV service, the main office would always send me complaints on every issue that I do, and it makes me upset because the idiots who own this company do no good or benefit to their employees or their customers who even get upset at me because the main office wouldn't do anything to fix their issue. Consolidated Smart Systems sucks! This is a fraudulent company who should go out of business for their awful service to everyone.

I live and work in an area that demands excellence; where technology is a matter of every day life or so I thought until I moved into a property run by Consolidated Smart Systems. There idea of prompt service leaves a lot to be desired as it relates to their competition. It appears to me that they get by on over promising and if it were not for Shirley Widdershoven I would be saying under delivering . However, Shirley s out of the box thinking and solution focused customer service is the only reason I am giving this review a 5 instead of a lower rating. She is a one woman show; that can throw a party; serve the property, AND deliver on all the promises of a boutique company without the proper infrastructure. Shirley is the secret weapon of CSS.

We are an Apartment Complex in Phoenix that experienced a horrendous change over from one ownership to another. During this time Consolidated Smart Systems was a real life "life saver!" Elias is just incredible! He always made himself available to help, no matter the request or the time. He and his team, Santiago and Sammy were always so quick to fix the crazy things that were done during the remodel, be it cut lines, disrupted service, no matter what it was, they showed up! When we couldn't print, they would come straight out to try to fix whatever the problem was. This in itself was WAY beyond what they were expected to do. When we experienced difficulty with another company who refused to burry their lines, CSS stepped right up to take care of our tenants by offering the most AMAZING pricing and same day activation! Who does that??? We love CSS and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for internet, TV or phone service. Elias and his team are TOP NOTCH!!! They make doing business more like a friendship.

I wish I could give zero stars. I've never had a problem with directv once until I moved into an apartment complex that forces me to use consolidated smart systems. My internet and television has gone out three times in the first six weeks of living here, and the soonest anyone can ever come fix it is a week away in a ridiculous 6 hour window. You a company that repeatedly fails to provide you the services you've paid for would at least try to rush a technician out to fix things. I would suggest NEVER moving into an apartment complex that uses consolidated smart systems.

After speaking with a number of representatives with both Consolidated and AT&T----Ryan B. in the Billing department---stepped forward and took my complicated issue and went above and beyond to resolve it to my satisfaction.

Whereas with other reps I found them eager to transfer me but Ryan stayed with it and persisted until he got action. He has one thing so many people lack and that is a virtue called "follow through".

In my opinion he is an outstanding star in your organization and at review time I suggestion someone speak to his boss and have him promoted.
