Been here 3 hours qued 2 He s for ride which broke just as we were going to get on. Staying at the hotel, no availability for dinner at the hotel, no availability for a family swim so all in its 300 quid for a bed, broken rides, long ques if I could give it zero stars I would. Needless to say I won t bring the kids back here. 4 rides in 6 hours. What a rip off. As for the over priced food, if you can call it food don t bother.

Brilliant family day out, though the queues at horrendous on busy days and queue timings aren t always right. I was trying to get a merlin pass last time I went and was sent on a wild goose chase by staff and at the information centre they were very unhelpful borderline rude. That was a whole hour gone down the drain. Lack of vegetarian places to eat on site, so bring a picnic. If planning on going twice in a year get Merlin passes as you ll get your money back. Also collect Tesco points are a good way to have a cheaper day out.
"Ridiculous" is the only word that comes into my mind. Ridiculously expensive, ridiculously overcrowded, ridiculously long waiting times for the rides, and ridiculously maintained.
A pleasant day out for families. Quick and easy to collect pre-booked tickets for our supplementary school and the queues to rides were not too long (30mins - 45mins). Chessington needs to place many more CLEAR SIGNS around the park for rides. Many staff members were new, so unable to help. Very few food outlets for meals, so bring your own lunch.
Was OK. Had to queue for 40 mins just to get in and ride queues were averaging an hour. (Between 15mins and 2 hours). Signage could be better and should state before you join a queue that there is no ice-cream etc. Kids enjoyed themselves though.
Took 129 children there today. Loads to do, for our age range 7 to 13 year olds! (We even brought 129 children home too!) A great day out, and we could have stayed longer!
Chessington is skewed more towards young children as it has plenty of child friendly rides, some will require adult an accompanying them. I saw most rides minimum height restrictions were around 0.9meters. There are a few rides for the older or more daring children which should keep the older kids happy and adults. There are a few parks and a soft play for the kids to run around in to let off some steam.
Chessington has a reasonable size zoo with an aquarium which exceeded my expectations both with size and quality. Luckily we picked a quiet day to go so queuing for rides wasn't an issue. All in all an enjoyable day out and would go again.
Santa's grotto was a shambles. We queued for 40 minutes from our allotted time before we called it a day. Went on the gruffalo ride instead which is lovely and we enjoyed the Christmas show. The food is really poor, but enjoyed the coffee.
Need more water fountains dotted around. Children dehydrate in the heat very easily. Apart from that, nice layout, good variety of rides but its USP is the zoo.
We had a great time at Chessington, but this is not a good time to go.
The queues may be shorter due to being at 60% capacity, but they move twice as slow due to the covid cleaning.
Vampire ride was great, but most of the other rides are far too short.
Do not bother with Zufari, that was the most disappointing experience. The app said 45 min wait, we waited 90 mins, and the ride was probably 2 minutes long. It stopped at the giraffes for 30 seconds, then we vaguely saw some gazelle, stopped for 30 seconds in some cave, and that was it.
Scorpion ride was good but too short.
All shows were cancelled.
All photo booths were unmanned, and a lot of photos missing.
The Tiger ride broke down when we were about to join the queue, with passengers being stuck on the ride.
Paid for two nights in the hotel with park entry for two days. Initially impressed with the hotel and facilities however unless you buy a fast track ticket then only expect to get on two of the decent rides during school holidays. The fast track queue to normal queue is really mis- managed and the normal queue will have waits up to two hours for rides. Really disappointed and will not be returning I'm afraid
An institution amongst British theme parks. Chessington has plenty of areas to explore from playgrounds to conservation areas and of course, the main rides that suit a variety of ages. Funnily, these were much tamer than I remember them to be, but it was great to see the excitement as my child got to be brave. As you'd expect, food and drink are mediocre and overpriced. Prices also vary and the same bottle of water is charged differently depending on if you buy it from a shop, kiosk, restaurant or vending machine. Also, you are well advised to buy fast passes or if you're staying at one of the resort hotels, to make use of the early access hour. Queues get exceptionally long. Other than that, lots of fun to be had.
Brilliant range of rides for all ages. Generally need to be above 0.9m, 1.0m or 1.1m for the younger rides which are good for the family. The mini zoo with tigers, lions and gorillas and the mini sea life centre is really good as an alternative. There is even a soft play and climbing area to keep everyone entertained. Overall a really good theme park for a young family.
Social distancing is hard when the place allows a lot of people to enter. The rides did however social distance between family bubbles. The place could do with a lick of paint and be laid out a bit better...it is a bit like a maze. We are probably spoilt for space due to visiting Alton Towers a lot.
Loved this place. Went on most of the rides and thought they were very good. My family also enjoyed it. The best bit was the safari ride amongst the Rhinos and Giraffes. Easy to park with a short walk in. We took sandwiches and water to save money.
Great day out - toddler pass allows both parents to enjoy if you have young children too - 2nd parent can wait with little one whilst 1st parent rides and gets pass signed then 'queue jumps' for their ride
RSome of the rides kept breaking down with queues of up to 90 minutes, not the biggest theme park but the lids had loads of fun. Well worth a visit if you use coupons as entrance For what you get is quite steep
Chessington world of Adventures - Very poor service. Antiquated systems - from accessing tickets purchased online to collecting pics from digipass. Average food at the resort restaurants. Very poor toiletries, even in one of the most expensive rooms on the resort.
Wait times are crazy long! Queue listed in app was 5 minutes, same as on the sign upon entry. Actual queue was anywhere from 30-50 minutes. Not possible to get on everything, even in an entire day.
I went here on my 7th birthday and I loved it. Although there where hight restrictions,I still had a good time. I personally recommend the dragon water slide it was the most coolest slide there!
This park is really fun for anyone with young children, but there is not enough in the park for teenagers. Dragons fury and vampire are both great family coasters and black buccaneer and zufari are both really great experiences, and so is Tiger rock. The food is so tasty and if you have kids under 10 you must visit.
Very very busy. Queue times.are ridiculous. The zufari was a huge let down with over 1.5 hour wait just to see 1 giraffe and hippopotamus for 3mins. Sea lion show was disappointing. All the animal talks are too close timed so unable to get to them. On the plus side the gruffalo river ride was great
First I have to say the staff have been very welcoming and very helpful. In the first hour of being in the park I was most impressed by the signage, sanitation stations spread everywhere and on each ride. They are only filling half of each ride due to social distancing and reminding people to wear face masks. But people are not keeping distance And cue times state 45 minutes but we haven t Cue for less than 2 hours on any ride, with two 6 year olds this is an actual nightmare! We cued for 1 hour and 20 minutes on the scorpion ride then it broke down and every other person turned around and walked back up the cue literally stroking each other as they walked by. No advice was given on how to deal with this and it was very scary. Eventually when we got to the entrance the ride opens and the staff were unable to stop people from joining the cue as others left utter chaos. I feel we have all been put at risk here today and will not be returning tomorrow as planned or for the unforseable future. Please take my advice people this is Not safe. There is still a lot of fear in people and not in others which is causing a lot of arguments around the park as we have seen. My wife and I have agreed after our first day out for 4 mints that we will be staying home this summer. Take care people and stay safe.
Expensive. Tiny. Crowded. Dated. I used to come here 20 years ago as a child and nothing has changed except for the gruffalo ride which was fantastic. Although not worth queuing for over 1 hour twice!!
Hard sell with too few areas to sit and eat outside restaurants. Rides are ok but signage poor leading to refusal to the ride after queuing for an hour because kids too small. Do this b4 the start of the queue. The arcades and games make the park seem like a travellng fairground. Parts of the park desperate for a makeover. Best bits Gruffalo ride, safari and sea life
Lovely staff, great hotel in good clean condition would recommend. The kids loved the monkey room overlooking the Safari park, well worth the visit picture is in the Safari park looking back at the hotel elevation we stayed in.
Myself and the family went to a birthday party here. It was an amazing experience. The kids absolutely loved it. Will definitely be planning a weekend here soon.
The staff need training. We were provided with the wrong information and the staff were not helpful as I was told 'I'm still new to this job', when asked for directions. You wait for over 3 hours for one ride on a weekend and if you are lucky, they won't turn around and say 'The ride is no longer working'. It was a waste of money. I advise the company to stop recruiting kids without giving full training. Overall, the experience was bad and I won't ever step foot in there again.
We visited when all the london kids started school , sept 5. It was still busy but our kids enjoyed every ride & were glad they didn t have to wait very long in the queues. When we read the reviews for chessington, they were not good. We were quite surprised & shocked because they were not at all true compared to our experience. The toilet queues were not as long or as dirty as previous reviews, the pizza buffet was fine. The only issue i had was in the restaurant, when we went to use the bathrooms after we ate, no patrons washed their hands, gross, the patrons would then go to the buffet line, but this was out of chessingtons control. However, i would definitely recommend chessington management implement a hand sanitizing station before the food & drink queues, to keep everyone s hands germ free, and the serving ladles. So this is not disneyland & do not expect the same quality or expectations from a multi million dollar company. The park/zoo is quite large & we found it took a lot longer to walk to each ride , more so than waiting for a ride. Parking we did not experience any pot holes & we arrived at 930 am. Leavimg the park was a breeze at 2 30 p.m, recommend prepaying for parking & entry tickets & the buffet, collecting at the ticket booth on arrival. Thank you chessington for the hospitality!
It's OK for family's with children under 12. It's trying hard to be a good all-rounder however it is lacking on substance all around. Everything is very mediocre or below. Rides are not that thrilling and neither are the animal based things. It's just OK.
Staff from start to finish were super friendly, facilities were clean and upto date. 2 days well spent and loved by all! My only small criticism is the lack of advertisement for the pay once free refill drinks. Wouldn't of known about it if a friend hadnt said, and I had no idea which stands actually did the free refills
It was so nice to go during off peak times where there were not many cues. We went for my sons 3rd birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. We went for three days and made sure we made the most of it!. My son loved the animals but I couldn t help but feel all the animals were trapped! Such tiny enclosures.
The only thing was the cost of food and drinks and some places being closed. I don t blame them as we went in last month and kids were not on holidays yet... dread to think what it s like during peak times!..
We did enjoy ourselves and wanted to thank the staff for making my sons birthday extra special.
Twice as many people than the park can cope with in my opinion. 2 hour queues on the big rides. Even queued for half an hour to buy a fast track ticket. Then the fast track queues were at least half an hour. Park was kept nice and clean and most of the staff were friendly enough.
It's a great day out. Long lines during holiday periods but it's worth going. Best if you get the Merlin Annual Pass because you get cheaper entry for all 32 locations than just going to one park.
We went for our sons 8th birthday, it was the sleepover weekend which was excellent value for money, just a shame the pool was closed when we arrived leaving my son really upset
As part of the weekend we had a day at the zoo which was real fun, the carousel was a added surprise, the arcade was dirty and dated.
The hotel room was nice but felt a little dated, both restaurants were good quality and prices with plenty of choice at the buffet style restaurant.
My son was very disappointed not to see the giraffes which refused to come out in the rain, we were unable to see some animal as the weather was a little wet when we went but that didn't stop us having a great weekend.
A great family weekend, we plan to book again next year.
Excellent. Had a really good vibe, run by enthusiastic people who enjoy their job. The rides are fun, the place is clean and the food isn't too expensive when compared to Legoland. This is a great day out, worth at least two day's in the park. Will definitely go again. Plenty of rides for adults and kids for all ages. A must visit for young families.
They were liying they said they were social distancing and every one should wear a mask. It's all lies there was no social distancing at all and no one wearing a mask and the place was packed i am sure that place is not safe to take your family there. This people just tell you that to take your money they refused to refund our money cause I didn't feel it was safe to take my children ther
Great day out. if you go when it's not busy you're gaurenteed lots of fun on the rides. the queues go quickly. food there is not cheap, so I suggest you take a picnic especially drinks as it can cost a family a fortune. If your looking to stay check out the hotels near by as that can save money.
Very expensive ..Very busy....like all theme parks....ideal for ages 5 to 12..height restrictions do apply. The cobra ride with spinning platform is a must.
29/8/19 today was unbelievable busy !! Wait times up to 3 hours for the major rides,The park is only open for 8 hours. We were there for 7 hours and managed to get on 4 rides (these including the small childrens rides) The bouncy castle obstacle courses only catered for adults and bigger children, we took a petite 4 year old and he was mortified there wasnt a smaller bouncy Castle for him to play on.. I will definitely not be going again in the school holidays !! I think the tickets should only be booked in advance, not on the door and there be a people capacity to stick to. I cant imagine how many people were packed into one park today
Some of the magic has dissappeared... I used to come here as a kid when it was just a zoo and then transformed to a theme park which we then loved as teenagers. Coming back now lots of the rides are old and dated. Little things like having characters dressed up walking around you don't see any more, or balloon sellers, or entertainers plus on the day we went 4 or 5 rides closed. Some of the height restrictions make no sense, for example my 5 yr old can ride the Vampire at 110cm but is too small to ride the Tiger Rock log flume which is by far tamer! I agree with lots of people that the animals don't belong here, the enclosures are too small. Stay as a theme park don't try and be the two things. Other little things like on the Gruffalo ride, previously the Bubble works used to end in a finale of water fountains... which are no longer there takes away some of the wow factor. The entry prices are extortionate even buying in advance saying a 5yr old is an adult price is wrong especially when they are too small to get on a lot of rides. We had a fun day, despite the rain but the rainy day guarantee is not easily sorted. Customer services/afteresales are poor and don't respond to messages or emails. It's a shame as I want to love the park as much as I did but as I say bring back some of that magic again and give my little girl the same amazing memories I had to get a 5* rating.
A great place to take kids as there's lots to keep them amused. Obviously plenty of parking, and plenty of places to eat. The park is looking very tired maintenance-wise, and there was an overall attitude of not particularly caring by the staff. Most of the park staff were either rude or disinterested, and the security 'team' on the front gates acted like teenagers who were pretending to be policemen.
Big rides are excellent, zoofari was really bad and we queued for an hour for it. Minimum hour wait for all the good rides. If the queueing times was not so long, this place would be very good. Suggest not going during school holidays.
Loved it as expected, better during the week if you can and Chessington is more suitable for younger children than the other big theme parks. We arrived by motorcycle and their wasn't any parking facilities for motorcycles, we just had to park on the gravel so worth bringing a puck for your side stand.
By far, the worse theme park I ve been to. The disabilities access is non existent, forcing you to go up flights of stairs to reach the rides, under the excuse of not every disabilities is physical
As someone with both physical and mental disabilities, I found that very rude because you should be catering to both types of disabilities. My mother who is in a scooter for the most part, could only go on one ride.
The staff couldn t care less about it, and fobbed me off with fast passes despite the park was closing in half and hour.. and nowhere does it state on the website that the park is very hilly, making my mothers scooter short itself out multiple times..
