Like chessington there is something for everyone, 4 star because there is minimal space that's under cover when the weather is is bad. Come on chessington this is England and the weather is very changeable.

Very badly laid out/a rubbish map so hard to get lots done. 120 minute advertised queues although only took an hour (is this to sell their fastpasses?) Loads of food stalls and fairground games and extra cost rides but didn't get much for what we paid. Also the restaraunt we were hoping to eat at for allergy reasons was closed with no warning on website.

Had a brilliant day with the Christmas festivities. Santa was great, as were the live dances with the Gruffalo and Stickman. The kids and adults loved it.

We had a car accident earlier in the day, the hotel staff were very accommodating to let us stay in the warm after closing while the recovery truck and taxi came.

The app was brilliant with live queue times and directions to attractions.

Can't wait to come again next year.

Worst trip to Chessington yesterday. Why are you so greedy and let so many people in? We shouldn't have to queue for 90 minutes plus to get on a ride. It's just pure greed. Also I've no idea how you'd evacuate that many people if there was an emergency. Ridiculous. Won't be visiting again.

My son loves the giraffe experience but just like any other theme park. There's no place for ASD children to enjoy this park. Sometimes it could be too loud. Maybe a sensory park would be a great idea to add in the theme park. After all there is arise of asd children in the population.

Great day out with lots to do. It's worth getting in as it opens and heading for the most popular rides first. Safari was great but no idea why minimum height is 1m... You're only sitting in a jeep? Shame for the little ones not to be able to see the animals

I review is in 2 parts. Good, the park itself is brilliant. Really enjoy the rides. It is kept so clean and the staff are very helpful if you need them. The food was good and hot. The Safari Hotel food we stayed in was brilliant. Even though it was busy (you do need to book for all meals) it was hot and the staff attentive. Now the hotel, I booked a room for 3 but the first room the sofa bed was broken so not made up. After a very long wait had to prove I had booked a room for 3 as they had 2 on there paperwork. The TV in the new room did not work and someone came up said hedh be back but never arrived. That said the room was a good size, clean and the aircon worked very well. I would go again but not stay on site.

Hot day and not enough places to get drink refills. More than happy to sell to bottles but not to fill them up!! Had at least 2/3 drink stations that had broken and long clues to get refills in the heat. More should be provided... Zoo really poor, will not be rushing back!

It was rather busy and felt like more than 60% of park visitors that were allowed in, also taking into account that it was a weekend visit in the school holidays. All rides were working apart from those that couldn't social distance and chair swinger. When it says que time of 50 minutes for Rattelsnake and I timed my que time and it was only 33 minutes which is good. Staff were not great with directions for lockers and rides but overall the day was fantastic and worth the money and I will happily visit again with my family and friends

It was great fun, however after being there for 30 minutes the park was packed and waiting for rides took hours, resulting in only using a few rides, food wasn't great as we are vegetarian, there wasn't much so left early

Chessington world is a great place to take the kids. With the zoo, shows and all the rides they will be more than happy. The only let down, we found, was the food. We would definitely go again and take a picnic.

Its a hit and miss
It's great for young kids but they would have to be 1.2metres+ to be able to go on nearly all rides.Main attractions are the animals dont really emphasis the rides but for anyone older or a budding thrill seeker take them to THORPE PARK they will be bored otherwise and its really not worth it

The two 'top' rides, Dragons Fury and The Vampire ...

The two 'top' rides, Dragons Fury and The Vampire are 13 years and 27 years old respectively. They look it. Dragon's Fury is now pink. Everything is dirty. Not very well maintained. Todies Car's are from the 80's when the park opened! There is nothing great about this park, the queues are bad, the fast tracks a rip off (and makes the queues even longer), prices to get in are very high. Will never understand why people still pay to come in here! If you do go, go in school term time, and never on a weekend. Also, if you DO go outside of the school holidays, but in Summer time, it is full go school trips. So not sure there is a good time to go?!?

Chessington world of adventure is amazing in true sense. It has something to offer for everyone. I have never found any other place in UK so well planned for almost all age groups. When I say almost, it had lot to offer for my 4 years old and somewhat fewer options for a year old. Otherwise, location, parking spaces, resort, food, rides, evening show will all qualify for 5 star rating. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only one thing I would to highlight that when getting out of the regular car park, make sure you give yourself enough room as you are getting onto a 60 miles road and there are no signs around to tell you that you are getting on a 60 miles road, very dangerous if you fail to gauge the speed of on coming vehicles.

We've only been here for 20minutes and it's been an absolute shambles! My wife called this morning to check and double check our hotel reservations, side by side rooms, one room to have balloons and early park entry tickets. It's our daughter's birthday so we've got two rooms, as she brought some friends. Got to reception, to check in AND...

* The rooms were not side by side.
* Neither room had balloons.
* We couldn't have early passes due to booking through military discount (although we were told otherwise).
* I told the baggage handler to leave our bags, twice, and that we will carrying them; he took them anyway. Reception then asked for our last four debit card numbers to confirm our booking... our bags were taken by the handler!

Reception said they couldn't do anything about the early pass tickets. My wife started crying because she felt as though she'd let our daughter down, which in turn made both our son and daughter upset. We had asked for the complaints email (obviously) but the receptionist failed to write it down, so my wife went back down to the desk to get it but they wouldn't oblige? The receptionist said he will try and sort things out and gave my wife a plastic collectable badge, which felt like an insult more than a gift. Unfortunately there's not a great deal they can do now as the damage is done. We don't come to Chessington often and I could have quite happily (so to speak) walked away, if it wasn't so late in the evening and also, the kids were partially excited about the occasion. We're so cross, so upset, so fed up and we've got a whole blooming day here tomorrow. We won't be coming back any time soon; rubbish experience.

My children were 11 and 8 when we went, they call it "Chessington World of Yawn". Queues were excessive and ride selection not great. You have to go on a ride to see most of the animals so queue for an hour to catch a glimpse. The gorillas and other animals you can walk around are down a narrow pathway enclosure so you couldn't really get close to see or were just in somebody's way. Wouldn't go again there are many better theme parks and zoos.

Always been a great place to visit however as to be expected the queues are horrendous, and that was a less busy day.

Great place for all but best for persons over 1 4 meters tall, also I suggest getting a fast pass and refill drink or your trip will be expensive and and most of your time will be spent waiting.

Been to Chessington everyday for the past week pretty much as we are annual pass holders. I was so impressed with the staff in particular the staff in the coffee shop. They were experiencing some extreme machine difficulties and shortages in staff and supplies. There were so many rude customers to them but they dealt with it amazingly despite the position they were in. I wasn t able to get all their names but special mention to Kate, Georgia, Elliot, Tj, Renaldo and Rachel. More too. Had a great time watching the shows too the enetertainments team are fab!

6 girls in a hen party came for a visit today as a surprise for the bride. We had organised the meal deal with the refillable drink. We had a lovely day and even managed to get on two rides. But. We never found where to get the meal for the deal. Spent a fortune on on not very nice donuts, served by a miserable young boy who clearly had no interest in his job. We did find a place to get our refillable drink, served by a miserable looking girl again clearly not interested in what she was doing. The drink was warm and flat and got emptied out. The ques too long to wait with our limited time, unable to afford the fast track, we accept high waiting times, one of those things, but why are not only the two staff mentioned but almost all your staff so miserable looking.?? They have no get up and go they look miserable, they look like they don't want to be there,. Surely it's meant to be a fun place to go, they should be cheery and excited? Not all bad though, the guy where I went to collect our tickets was a great laugh, helpful informative and had us laughing. The lady on the safari ride was a true star, bright cheerful funny full of life.. we did enjoy ourselves but it would have been far nicer if the rest of your staff were more lively and cheerful. And it would be better if there was better accessibility to the meal deal food which the 6 of us never got even though we'd paid. Don't think I want to come back .

A Good place for a day out with family and kids if you are interested in adventure rides and seeing animals. Recently visited this theme park with family and one day is not sufficient to cover all rides and animal shows with wait time in queues. It is better to plan for 2 days with a night stay or camping and you can enjoy all rides and zufari, seal show, lion feeding, sea life aquarium and many more. You just need to check the height restrictions for kids on various rides before you queue in and can spend fabulous time in this park.

Great day out with great offers each year to make it more affordable for all the family. Unlike other theme parks Chessington also has a hotel, sealife centre, zoo with safari experience, Go Ape and a wildlife centre. Out of season they run Zoo days where the majority of the park is off limits but you can still visit the zoo and sealife centre in this time with access to some stops and larger restaurants. There is on site parking and has 2 TFL (465 & 71) bus links to the main entrence.

Very helpful and understanding towards my disabilities!
Very VERY clean, recycled refillable drinks to prevent wasps, and I didn't see a single fly, let alone a wasp!!

The rides are fun! Perfect for the 'newbie rider'. Slightly on the smaller side compared to Thorpe Park or Alton Towers etc, but the Zufari and Sea Life Centre make up for it!!!

Overpriced entrance/ticket price, food and drinks,...

Overpriced entrance/ticket price, food and drinks, Merlin don't miss a trick when it comes to charging for any extras.
Disabled access which is sign posted with a person in a wheelchair is cetainly not wheelchair accessible/friendly as nearly all the disabled access routes have stairs up to the rides which then forces the disabled individual to stand for a period of time, if they can even manage that, whilst single riders and fast track get priority over them.
The rides are good if not a bit dated but the theme park is definitely aimed at the younger children with a handful of rides for the bigger kids.

Avoid resort hotel :- some keys in the splash pool changing rooms open more then one locker which meant shoes and fit bit were taken from the locker. Management confirmed this was the case yet told us nothing they could do about the stolen fitbit.

The park was good :- Most rides closed as we went in half term but we expected that and was fine. Zoo and Sealife was loved by the kids even if it was a little small. The little rides had quite long queues but that's expected. They were good for letting my son ride.if I was able to hold him out of his wheelchair
Lots of the food places, vending machine were out of stock or not working.
The hot doughnuts place was only serving cold ready packed doughnuts.

My visit was not worth the hour and a half drive: on arrival there were no signs about pricing or availability, however the cost was relatively cheap and the queue wasn't long. Unfortunately the staff were unprepared, unorganised and very laxed in the way they worked and this led to confusion and anger. Their lack of organisation and signing meant we paid the admission fee without any judgement or preparation, we were not allowed a map or information until the purchase. All their main rides were closed and only the animal park was open, we therefore left with anger demanding a refund as their was no prior notice of the park closure, not on the website as the staff had told us and suprisingly none at the entrance. I have only rated them a 2 due to their cooperation and recognision of thier faults and quickly gave our money back, I hope this has taught them that it is not the customers duty to consistently check their website as it is an inconvienience when they could simply add more signs.

This time of year, after absolute peak time, it's great! Practically walk-on rides. You will have to accept that some are closed, you will have to accept that certain food stalls aren't open, after all, they aren't catering to the same size crowds. But as far as rides go. Flawless. Why no five stars? Staff in the food places that are open seem very bored and fed up. Word of advice... please, if the ride breaks down, be nice to the staff getting you evacuated. They don't want to have to spoil your ride (The Gruffalo) and truly, the work that goes in to making that ride run hundreds of times a day makes your disappointment insignificant. They are only doing their job.

First time visit with hubby and 5yr old. I've got to say I found it so much better than Alton towers. There were plenty of rides that my 1.1 metre 5 yr old could ride. I really love how the zoo.is really integrated with the park too. Plenty of food choices and places to sit outside and eat. Lots of toilets and everything was sign posted really well. One thing we found reassuring was the staff were making sure everyone was sticking to the social distancing rules. Lots of hand sanatizing station clearly marked around the park. We rode lots of rides and my lad and hubby both had a relaxing fun family day out. Would highly recommend for families of younger children who can't yet ride the really big coasters at the other parks.

We had a lovely day here. We went using sun super saver tickets. The weather was very good and it was the middle of summer holidays so busy. We queued around 50 minutes to get in. They did bag check and took our temperatures using a non contact forehead thermometer (Covid-19), but the process was smooth and safe. There were various hand sanitiser stations around the park, screens up at stalls, and some social distancing markers and one way systems etc. Some stalls/snack places were still closed and a few different drinks machines were not stocked up which wasn't great in the very hot weather. You do have to wear masks on some of the rides, and they do have places you can buy, but as expected quite expensive. We had food from the dirty fries to eat and they were tasty, but very greasy, and expensive but that is what to expect in these places unfortunately. If you are adults going without children then there aren't very many rides for you (vampire and tiger rock) but we looked on the website prior to visiting so we knew this. Queue times for those varied throughout the day between 50 & 75 minutes. Lots for children/families though. The zoo part of the park was lovely. The safari bus idea looked amazing, and you got closer to giraffes etc, and is included in the price as a 'ride' but the queue time was 90 minutes so we didn't wait. In the zoo we also queued for around 20 minutes to get to the gorilla viewing window.

This place has the potential to be a really great ...

This place has the potential to be a really great theme park, however, the organisation here leaves a lot to be desired. The ride wait estimates are often way WAY out, so be warned, if you don't pay extra to buy fast tracks, which sell out quickly too btw, you are likely to be disappointed/unsuccessful queuing for the popular rides. Getting food is also a big chore in this place, the staff really are not organised and the queues can be obscene. It's almost like people serving are surprised to get an order of fries, I was waiting half an hour for nuggets and chips, this was with a very short queue in the restaurant, in the middle of the day?! Also their drinks machine was "broken" so no decent options available there. Why they had no back up being in a popular place like Chessington, who knows?! The prices in the park were surprisingly reasonable though, plus a couple of the convenience stores had very short waits to be served, like some restaurants here, offering dairy free, meat free and gluten free options too, which is a big plus. So as long as you buy fast tracks for the rides you want, plus hit the restaurants at the right times or bring pack up, plus remember to pay for parking before leaving, you should have a good time. It's a shame they don't inform people of these things prior, especially when you are taking kids, we saw lots of children crying with disappointment after queuing for hours getting nowhere and having to give up, poor buggers, shame on Chessington being so disorganised and uninformative.

I have returned from our two day stay at Chessingt...

I have returned from our two day stay at Chessington (Zafari lodge) and was disappointed with a few aspects of our stay.

We had quick passes which were booked on the day of arrival which due to the weather and some rides being closed we asked to switch them which was made complicated sending us from the information centre to the quick pass and then told to come back the day after and try to do it. With this we had to also change our photo pass, we were told they can't change the day of it but we can extend it for another day to cover both days at an additional cost, which we did.

Upon returning to the hotel room after the first day in the rain we got our bags from the car (as we couldn't check in till after 3pm) and went to the hotel room; to be disappointed by what was sold to us. The view over the safari park was a field of shrubbery and a filthy roof with rubbish on it, the room was dated, dirty, dark and the bathroom was not up to standard with very poor water pressure in the shower that basically drizzled (even when using the other settings on it) due to limescale which was obvious on the shower head. This was not ideal coming in wet and cold wanting a hot shower before dinner.

At dinner the food was not great but passable however more c ok concerning was the food hygiene level, it was sub standard and noticed the cooks were not wearing gloves and actually caught the woman making the food wipe the plate with her finger and lick it to put her hands in the vegetables and plate it; this is a serious lack of health and safety which I would advise you looking at.

After dinner we went back to our room to settle in for the night. The tv remote (only one for two TVs was not ideal and meant our daughter kept asking us to change the channel which intermittently changed both tvs at the same time was frustrating. The bed and pillows have to be the most uncomfortable bed I have slept on and both my wife (who is pregnant) and my self woke up with back and neck pain.

On a positive the staff seemed friendly and our daughter enjoyed the actual park and rides.

I hope that you take this constructive criticism on board to make some changes that will make it more enjoyable for future customers. This email was sent to Chessington but am yet to receive a response.
