Catered an event for us in Winchester (two course early evening hot buffet). Fantastic food (the chocolate brownie - oh my word!) and excellent service/staff. Well organised and flexible throughout the whole process made the running our event so much easier.

Fantastic staff, food and service. We went for a tasting session with Liz (event manager) and Neall (chef) and were served absolutely delicious, beautifully presented food. Liz was so helpful and professional and we felt completely confident in her hands. Our wedding day catered for 95 guests and Anise catering and their staff covered everything. We didn't have to worry about a thing on our special day. We are so pleased we used Anise and would most definitely recommend them to others. Thanks again Liz (and your team).

I worked on the dishwasher for 2 hours. The boss told us to change the water for washing dishes every hour. Just because the dishes look clean doesn't mean they are. Shit which is not enough, after an hour the washing water looked and smelled like a cesspool, I do not greet and advise against work and buying anything.

While the food we were offered during our wedding tasting was well made and tasty, Anise Catering are by far one of the least professional and frankly dishonest companies I have ever come across. If it was possible to leave less than 1 star, I would. Their customer service is abysmal and the entire team seems to have no sense of professionalism in communication. Emails would go unanswered for weeks and promised call backs never happened. They had no interest in the type of day we wanted for our wedding and would up-sell at every opportunity (despite serving our wedding breakfast at noon we were told staff needed to stay till 10pm - an hour after the last wedding guest left). To top it off, the company also insisted on charging a service fee for credit card payments, a practice that was made illegal in January of this year! I honestly don t understand how they still exist and would encourage everyone to save themselves the potential headache and find reputable caterers.

The food was 5 star, Mark and the team were absolutely incredible! For the cost and the quality I wouldn't look anywhere else!! We found that from the initial enquiry, then the tasting, the confirmation process and payments were all made so simple for us by the team in the office, with the front of house staff doing an excellent job looking after our guests on the night.

One thing I would also mention, if you're not sure what to have the brownies are to die for!

Anise recently catered our wedding and did an absolutely fantastic job. The food was brilliant, everything went really smoothly on the day and everyone from anise was so helpful and friendly. In the run up to the day they were incredibly helpful in getting everything organised and making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend them!

Liz is a credit to Anise what a hard worker. Liz from the time I contacted Anise to the final hour of our wedding day she was there, huge smile on her face, nothing was too much trouble and herself and team acted in a outstanding Manor. So many guests have praise through us regarding Liz.

Thank you for everything you did to make our wedding day special. Your communication leading up to the day was brilliant.

Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and thank you for keeping the day running smoothly.

We got married in May at Nettlestead Place. Wedding breakfast was absolutely great. Very hot and food well presented and lots of it. Everyone commented on how lovely it all was. Everything was perfect. Cant fault the wedding breakfast.

On a more sour note we had opted for the evening buffet, which came out at 8pm. Our evening guests started arriving around 7.30pm. As we was welcoming our guests we hadn't noticed that the food had been taken away, no more than an hour of being put out.
One of my family members had asked a member of Anise Catering, why it was being taken away. And she replied with "we have been told to take it away as they were going home".
This was not the only member of staff that was asked to leave it, but took it anyway. Seeing we had only finished our wedding breakfast around 6 ish people wasn't hungry at 8pm but was at 10pm.

If it was possible to leave a minus star review then I would.
Thankfully we didn't actually have to use Anise Catering. However, I wish to warn others of the incredibly wrongful business practices we experienced. It was just plain distressing.



The owner, Mark, himself was non-existent until we threatened legal action. Even then though, argumentative and rude, disgusting 'customer service' from all staff.
This took 5 months and caused upset and tears leading up to the big day. Then all of a sudden, after some firm phone calls from us and another important party; our money was returned in full. I would personally advise avoiding this firm altogether, but if you do decide to hand over any cash then good luck!

There was no remorse or apologies from any staff members even though they were very aware of the pain and financial worry they caused us.
I cannot stress just how real and worrying this actually was: to have a company pretty much say "Well, you've paid us a deposit therefore that means you have to use us. If you go elsewhere then we keep your deposit anyway, it's your problem if you're not happy."

We were made aware of two other couples who had a very similar experience to us with Anise during our wedding planning journey, who also had to go down the same road and source a new caterer after fighting for their money back.
Awful and appalling from start to finish. I do not understand how they are still trading.

Anise catering did an amazing job on my wedding day in May 2018. They were very professional and helpful and the food was really delicious! Thank you so much would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic experience on our wedding day with Anise. They were great in advance of the big day and we did a walkthrough a couple of days in advance and they answered all of our nervous questions. On the big day everything went so smoothly, they helped keep everything on track, were flexible when needed and the food tasted great!!! Thanks to everyone who made our special day so fantastic.
