Loved it... we stayed over night for a birthday treat for our daughter we all enjoyed ourselves now our son wants to do the same for he's birthday... so we are 100% going back.
Nice place to relax and have a fun day with the kids, unfortunately ramses revenge was closed on the day we went, so was a little disappointed. I've been told it closes on some days of the week so maybe best to call if that's the ride you really want to go on.
Brilliant for little ones as well as big. Fun and varied.
It was lovely, did have a great time with family but was not satisfied with safari ride bcus did not see most of the animals
It was our second visit. Hopefully we will visit again. Most loved was witch broom story house.
An OK stay, a clean place to go and have day out or stay over. Quite small overall and the zoo was disappointing.
Very clean, prices very reasonable if you shop around and book early. Cannot fault the staff at all, all very enthusiastic, helpful, happy and an absolute asset to the place, Ok some of the wait times do get a little excessive during school holidays if you don't have a fast pass but this is one of the uks top theme parks and should be expected
I like it but slot of the attractions were closed. Waste of money but all in all is a great place to have fun in.
Good size for kids. Rides are not too scary. OKish food but a little more expensive than outside. Parking charges extra. Staff are friendly. Disables friendly. Enough toilets. Could do with some rides not breaking down. Very popular so queueing times high in term holidays.
Good, mostly short waiting times when I went, but a couple of the rides were closed.
Always have a wonderful time here great rides and a lovely atmosphere
We had a great overnight stay at the safari hotel and my son loves the park and animals
Been many times but by far the greatest waste of a day and money. Rides breaking down, priority tickets given out but ignored the second half of the family group waiting for the first half in the queue but were only willing to compensate More
Had 2 days of awesome fun so much to see an do it took 2 days ...down side stuff in there is very expensive drinks an food well dear but if you take your own it's awesome I.m 64 an my daughter is 11
Had an amazing weekend here with the family staying at the campsite I couldn't fault a thing would love to go back again
A very nice day out. Not as big as we thought it'd be, but we all had fun. Particularly liked the animal/zoo area. Expensive food though and the burger restaurant food was not very good.
Great place for kids. Could do with a healthier menu though.
Great rides but the queues were so bad that we didn't stand a chance to ride more than 5 during the whole time they were opened
Very good rides, don't have to walk miles but very long queues.
Good place for a day outing. Decent rides and zoo animals.
I love chessington! It is filled with life treating rides that you will not regret to ride on. One ride felt a bit unstable with the safety of the rides not being up to maximum, but being exceptional. Rameses Revenge shut down due to the More
I was apprehensive about going here but the staff here have nailed it. Excellent social distancing, queues looked long on some rides but with 2m between each party they depleted quickly. An excellent and safe day out in the circumstances. If this is the new norm, I'm all for it. Sanitisers on departure of each ride and equipment sprayed down. Excellent, well done you!
very very busy and crowded area... the front desk in the hotel they don't have enough experience and they don't give you all the information details
Yes I will be back I loved it my special needs son he loved it all he went on the rides with his brother and his girlfriend the main right he was going on was the cobra it look rusty but yes you enjoyed that over and over and over and over and over you'll be seeing as soon thank you
Super experience the glamping was great very comfortable. All the little extras were great.
We love Chessington best out of the local Merlin parks.
Awful! Long queue to get
, in and once we made it to the vampire ride and quede for an hour the ride was shut due to a fire alarm. Didn't fancy queuing for 2 hours (!) for the Dragon ride and the Tiger ride was closed for engineering. Never want to come here again!
this place is soo good its my favourite place to go and the hotel was amazing but you cant see the giraffes walk past your window because there behind a fence but that dosent matter I recomend you going there and I cried when we had to leave to go home but after lockdown we can go so im really exited and my favourite ride was the scorpion express I hope some more rides will be added in the future but the sad bit was I was 6 when bubbleworks got closed because I never got to ride it I got really upset but this theme park is amazing. where we live it takes 2 and a half hours to got there but that wont stop the adventure from rising peoples happiness and this place helped my anxiety so if your planning to go here but then your like nevermind its to expensive thats because its soo good!!!
Lovely park but gets very busy with long queues. Fast passes are reasonably priced though.
If it wasnt for the animal habitats it would have been your normal, 100 min queues for rides type of place. We didnt go on any rides but enjoyed our time walking around and looking at the habitats.
Lovely family day out constant cleaning and Social distancing measures carried out and masks required on most rides because you book online it was just enough people not to over crowded which was nice.
Great rides lots to do , fantastic hotel and food , only gripe some of the staff in the park not very friendly
Not a bad theme park but on our visit the queue times were really long and just getting into the park was a grind. The roads(if you can call them that) are like driving over a million cattle grids, you'll be lucky not to have whiplash upon parking. The park itself is ok, usual wait times, rip off stalks but overall a good day. Tiger Rock is good tbh. Unfortunately you have to tackle the M25 as well.
Fun for all the family! Rides for all ages and heights. Lots of animals.
Could do with some water fountains to encourage reusable water bottles rather than making money out of plastic bottles!! Give the excuse about covid but there are automatic sensor fountains they could install instead that are touch free.
Today two of the biggest rides were closed on and off throughout the day and on one of them it was just to cut the bushes a bit. This surely should be done out of hours so customers are not effected. This resulted in over 1hr and a half waits for most rides. To be honest there were only a few rides in the resort anyway its mostly shops and park space. Making you pay for your tickets for nearly a hundred pounds and then asking you to pay a further two hundred so you can fast track and stand in a smaller queue is and insult to intelligence but people still do it. I will not be coming again it's a joke and a complete waste of money. Enjoy the new app that tells you waiting times for rides which is never up to date. It said 20mins for the ride I am currently waiting for and 75 mins later I am half way round.
I loved it so much if you think it Isint go to teh doctors and get your eyes checked jk
Excellent day out with the family, clean, friendly young staff, plenty toilets. Queues not to long.
It was amazing! Would recommend to anyone going. If you are thinking of going, ask for a room on the top floor, as the floor before that floors view is not as good. The second time we went, we thought we d have an amazing view, but instead we had a view of an unfinished balcony lol and could only see a quarter of the view. However, third time lucky, we were on the top floor and it was beautiful:)
Amazing it was thrilling! I dont like rollercoasters but I challenged myself to get on a few!
Something for everyone, and not as much walking to get from one area to another as its sister parks.
Easy to get to by car.
Great place to take wee ones, from about 1 to maybe 6 years old? Much bigger than you think, with lots of animals and rides that allow even babies to enjoy. That said, it's worth getting the fast track past as most of the rides are not worth the 60 minutes wait than many others had to endure. Trust me, this turns into a 3 star review if it had not been for those fast track queue jumping tickets.
Had a great weekend but was a bit frustrated by some of the main rides being closed. And whilst I understand the need for procedures to ensure health and safety, it often felt a bit over the top and entry and exit to the rides could be sped up to reduce queuing.
Love this place! But needs a virtual queue option as the queues are ridiculous! Would be a great idea.
I broke down in the covid testing centre today, wasn't allowed out of my car, extremely hot and bothered . Typical woman, needed toilet but not allowed to use the testing centre loos, understandable but was soooooo hot today. Advised to go to the hotel and ask to use the toilets there. The staff could not have been more helpful, lovey people, great assist to your company. Came to see if they could help, so so helpful, can't thank them enough. Well done for having such great staff.
Regards
Jackie Hanley
I have gone there twice. This place is really worth going 100 times !! Simply awesome. The rides are very fun, specially the kobra ride and Vampire. The idea of having themed regions is also very impressive. Their app is also very useful for knowing the wait times. The staff persons are very polite as well. They guide very well when we ask for directions. I will definitely go here again.
Rides are old and the wait times are over an HR. Lifts are designed very badly. Food is mediocre at best. Not really sure who would ever want to eat in the dark accompanied with strobe flashing lights.
Great theme park especially for younger children. Sadly not open Tuesdays or Wednesdays off peak but as we've been before don't want to mark it down.
Great rides for all ages. Experience very dependent on how busy the park is
Totally love it, we didn't see everything so we have to go back
Great place for kids not so much for adults. There are things to do but there isn't any thrill rides.
The zoo is ok and there are a few nice animals here. All in all kids will love it.
I love it.great for family and adult too.Better to go Open time and try to buy early ticket or offer vouchers coz a bit cost.
Not as fun as it use to be, need more new rides, better food places like the "pizza & pasta" place. And I can't believe that you still shut at 5pm? especially in the summer time. "The bubble works" has been replaced with "The Gruffalo" which we didn't go on. Still a good day out for the children
I love the mixture of the animals and the rides in the park. Although, the park felt more exciting five years ago, it is still the best family park nearby London and one of the best theme parks in the country.
Disappointing on many levels but still a fantastic day out for kids.
I wouldn't recommend going during school holidays unless you maybe have a Merlin pass otherwise you won't get value for money due to how busy it gets and the queue length times.
On arrival security guards shouting abruptly for people to open their bags for searching (which i appreciate the importance of this job) but the look on many young kids faces was one of worry.A less 'enthusiastic' approach from the security staff would be more appreciated.
Then whilst queuing for an hour for a ride it broke down and everyone was told it wasn't worth waiting as they couldn't give a timescale for it to be fixed which was just one of those unfortunate things however when i overheard a question being asked as to whether maybe a token of gesture for the wasted time such as a fast track voucher could be given the reply came "the manager won't authorise that". Poor customer service which sadly epitomizes much of the poor things i witnessed. When its extremely busy and something breaks maybe the management should think about how limited the opportunities are to experience much of the park and a small gesture of goodwill would be gratefully accepted and maybe people would be encouraged to return in the future?
Maybe the issue with rides breaking down is due to lack of maintenance budget? i have visited a few times over the years and never seen it looking so 'tired' and unloved due to lack of basic maintenance.
Another gripe from my day was that being a sunny day i saw lots of overflowing rubbish bins attracting lots of wasps whilst stood in the queues and not once did i see any staff emptying throughout the day.
It seems that they're happy to get you in and take your money and then let you leave eventually after sitting in your car for an hour to exit the chaotic carpark when all the attendants were very well organised to get you in but not one to organise a smooth exit?!
Chessington is without doubt one the best places to take the kids in the country with the variety of rides for young and older, along with the little safari ride which is fantastic and many other activities but sadly it seems that an arrogance has struck and customer service and experience is secondary behind taking everyones money.
Not a bad theme park, long lines and little choice of rides. Sealife was a great bonus.
My children love it because they are able to go on rides that are suitable for their ages (15, 8 & 6). Also easy access for disabled people and their friends or family. Staff are very helpful all the time in different locationd - thanks all. We enjoyed the Halloween period - it's was fun. We have used Merlin passes for 8 years, and it saves you a lot of money in places all over the county and abroad.
More wildly attractive than the other park a few miles away
Our 2nd trip loads to do nice mix between rides and the zoo.
Great theme park and zoo and reasonably priced if you book on line in advance
Absolutely chaos, full day there and managed 3 rides with our children. Too many people, the queues were slow whilst the park feels dated. Won't be going back.
Very crowded And waste of time when waiting for rides and it was a very money and Time wasting trip, furthermore there is barely any animals at the Zoo and sea life . I was very disappointed and didn t find anything adventurous or fun at chessington. Its also not suitable for covid-19, no one is keeping distance and no masks have been worn.
It has great rides and animals to see, plus a sea life centre for the price of one ticket.
Great theme park, plenty of rides for the kids. Queue times are typical for a theme park this size, so prepare for queuing for the premium rides. My kids are just growing out of Chessington now though, so Thorpe Park is our next stop.
Oh my god love the new tiger compound it's beautiful, and loved the water ride
Is a good attraction for young children. Is entertaining and educational as well. Staff are friendly and engaging. However queue waits are unacceptably long for some rides. I feel better use of single rider queues, fast tract queues, ride time slots could all be used to lower waiting times. I feel there is possibly a lack of investment and ideas to lower queue times and some rides need updating. Some of the smaller kids rides could be duplicated to avoid long queues. More small rides. More designated smoking areas . More healthy snacks available for example selling of apples fruit etc along with typical popcorn and similar unhealthy options do choice is there.
Park Operations, ride, shows and attractions nicely planned. Food & Beverage needs improvement, less junk food, more healthy options and cater for allergies. 7hr in the park, 2 coffee shops with Costa logo and couldn't get soya milk, when I get to order 15 min wait for coffee! Is Graffalo making it or what? On serious note you automatic machine are rubbish, change them.
It was raining all day and most of the shop and attractions closed, due to the rain
Had a wonderful Youth Days experience and the team worked exceptionally hard to make us welcome. However, catering for special dietary requirements needs further investment of effort.
Great family day out...
Queues to the ride can be an hour long
No social distancing what so ever.
Masks not being worn even when sign posted everywhere. All you can eat pizza and pasta was limited to 1 pizza for adults, half for kids, but still pay full price.
Great day out. Kids loved it! Wait times are a killer!
great fun for the kids, queue times are very long, maybe get 8 rides in a whole day if you are lucky, expensive food but did not expect anything more or less.
Loved the park amazing for me and all the kids would recomended to anyone wanting to get out the house with the kids
Went there in the month of January, not much information about the status of how the park is working in January.
Well it's open for formalities, only one ride was open and most of the park was closed.
Now I am merlyn VIP pass holder, I had no idea that I will be paying full money for January but facilities available will be less then 10%
Also was quite disappointed with available facilities (closed ones), it's a smallest park I have seen in UK. when we left we decided it's not even worth coming here in summer when it may be open fully.
Really a nice place to enjoy. The rides are very good. Not very scary as Thorpe Park and not too small as Legoland.
The Sea lion show was the best.
Also there are many animals. Only thing is on weekends it will very crowded and it will not help you to go through all the rises which will result in 2 days time there. So have visited on a weekday and covered all the rides and most of the animals.
The zoo was a great family day out. Had lots of animals to see and had made the park very child friendly. The animals were well looked after. Staff were knowledgeable and provided good customer service.
Overall a good experience but let down by a couple of points. The first is the overall feel of what is now quite a run down park and the second is the a lack of staffing/poor communication between staff.
